We had a great experience here. The winery is beautiful and the outdoor scenery is as well. The wine was excellent. Definitely take the tour while you’re there. The grounds are surrounded by rolling hills of vineyards. The large floor to ceiling windows allow you to sit indoors without missing out on the views. The winery Labrador often greets you at the driveway entry. The only downfall is the requirement to schedule in advance for your visit - makes it hard to be spontaneous with friends or others you’re showing around the area.

Not what I expected--thought it would be smaller group on tour but we were in a group of 18. Couldn't fit us all in one room during one part of the tour. Although the wine was great, for $65/pp I thought it would me more intimate and special.

We have been to 60+ vineyards in Virginia and this is at the top of list. The wine is as good as any reds from California and everyone associated with the vineyard is fantastic. I have recommended RDV to about 20 or so people and we just joined this summer. I would highly recommend taking a tour and trying all of the wines. The special events are fantastic.

We were literally asked to leave as soon as we walked in. Apparently, you must make reservations ahead of time in order to enter the faculty. Tastings are $50, by reservation only. You can't sit down unless you're part of the wine club. Delaplane Vineyards, a mile down the road, was welcoming, serene and all their wine was amazing. Don't waste your time on this place.

RdV Vineyard is a winery that is not to be missed when visiting Virginia or Washington DC. A notable wine and a fabulous wine tasting experience. Opt for the VIP "Blind Tasting" as it is an experience that will be memorable. You will have a hard time choosing which wine is best, because they are all wonderful! Cheers!

Great wines and good tour. It's a high end wine place, not for someone looking to stop in without a reservation or looking for $20 wines. The wines were delicious and the facility is beautiful.
