Here you have the opinions of real people who bought the products and services of Naked Mountain Winery & Vineyards (Winery) in the state of West Virginia.
As of day the business gets a score of 4.2 over 5 and that score has been calculated on 77 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is positive, and it's based on a very high number of scores, so we may say that the rating is very accurate. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to write reviews when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Winery is classified in the category of Vineyard.
The service is awful. We went there today, and the staff (manager it seemed primarily) could not have been more rude. What a waste. Don’t waste the drive.
My favorite wines in the local area. Worth the drive every time my wife and I have visited.
Great wine, good food and friendly staff made a great Sunday afternoon!
Decent wine, but the place is junky, and there were stinkbugs EVERYWHERE. There were literally hundreds of them crawling all over every window, and it was pretty unappealing to watch them crawling all over the windows behind the bartenders. There was even one on the table my girlfriend and I were sitting at. Also the place is only accessible by a tiny one-lane road with no turn-offs and a blind corner (you have to honk your horn so the driver on the other side doesn't hit you head on). The 2nd star is only because I enjoyed the wine. I might buy a bottle at the supermarket but I would never visit this place again.
One of my favorite wineries. Feels intimate and great for families. Wine is delicious too! You are allowed to bring a lunch (eating outside). but they do offer plates of simple cheeses and meats.
I have to say that I have been to many, many wineries. I have experienced many different kinds of wine, and many different people at these wineries. I have found no one more knowledgeable, pleasant and deserving of a rave review than Laura of Naked Mountain Winery and Vineyards. We had spent an entire weekend of visiting wineries and friendly banter with the owners and employees. You would be surprised at the general lack of knowledge that some of these places showed. I'll be honest, the actual wine at this particular location wasn't our favorite, but Laura made us want to stay. We ended up buying several bottles of wine and ordering food just because of how much Laura added to the experience. The winery is also dog friendly which we LOVED. We have every intention of returning to this winery and will call ahead to make sure that Laura is there. Many thanks Laura, and we hope that Naked realizes what an asset they have with you as an employee.
I just opened a 2008 Raptor Red that I purchased during a visit to Naked Mountain. It is so flavorful!! Very impressive! I am planning another trip there before summer's end.
Good wine and snack foods. Dogs and kids allowed. Great for grabbing a bottle of wine, sitting under a tree, and relaxing for a few hours.
Great wine and great customer service.
Beautiful location with great beverages.
Great lasagna lunch
Absolutely love this winery. When we visited we got to experience our tasting with the wine maker. We had great conversation with the staff and took home a couple bottles of wine and souvenirs. Atmosphere is very chill and laid back. Highly recommend this winery.
Wow — Naked Mountain winery truly delivered! Jacob was exceptional as he guided us through an unforgettable wine tasting experience. We learned “wine lingo” and savored every taste along the way. Our time was equal parts educational and conversational :) Will be back sooner rather than later.
We love taking our pup to Naked Mountain, and she loves sitting in front of the fireplace! The staff gives her lots of love when they get a chance! We are a queer couple. While they have never stated whether they are LGBTQIA friendly or not, we have encountered many “alternative type” people (for lack of a better term and inability to confirm how they identify) and the staff has always been warm and welcoming. We have never felt uncomfortable. Unfortunately at this time they do not have gender neutral bathrooms.
Wine tasting and food. Nice big wood paneled room lots of space. Very strange arrangement for tasting standing at the bar and using the same glass for all the wines. Of the wines one white and one red were of a good standard and the port was wonderful. One of the wines was corked this did not seem to be understood by the server. The food served seated! Was of good quality, nice cheeses and smoked salmon, the prosciutto was fairly tasteless. Water served in a white plastic cup....come on. Nice balcony area make for a pleasant picnic. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Nice selection of wine and a cozy atmosphere...
Buyer beware. If you join the wine club they will send you a case of wine but only two different flavors being one red and one white in my case. If you want to change out the bottles to have different flavors of wine...... you get charged extra. Any other wine club that I belong to sends you different bottles throughout the entire case. This winery seems to send you only there two cheapest wines they have on stock. For that reason I canceled my membership.
Decent wine, sweet and dry. Staff was friendly, but it was a bit overstretched on the weekend. The atmosphere was nice as well.
The wines are not that great. Nothing was impressive at all, there are so many great wineries in the area and this one does not even come close. I'm not sure why there are so many good reviews on google. Also, to get into the winery you have to drive in on a windy, raised path that only fits one car. So if a car is approaching from the opposite direction, you have to stop and back up, hoping that your car will not fall off the hill and tumble below. We were shocked driving in to find such dangerous conditions, and really wondered why anyone would come back a second time. I think this winery is selling the ambiance of the facility (which smells really funky when you walk in) and the views, and not really great wine itself.
This is a lovely little vineyard in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. They have several picnic shelters, a little lake and many comfy Adirondack chairs on the lawn if you want to relax and enjoy the mountain air. They also have a relatively new deck with tables, chairs and umbrellas - and live music some weekends. The wine is good (even though we aren't oenophiles) and they also serve some small plates of nibbles to go with your vino. Highly recommended for a day trip - we usually combine this with a visit to the Hart Orchard down the street for some pick-your-own apples. Makes a great day trip from the DC area.
Would give zero stars if I could. The wine was simply undrinkable.
My new girlfriend loved your wines and the food selection, helping to make it a great wine country date!
Dog approved! Fantastic place to enjoy a picnic with the pooch. Our husky was allowed into the building for a quick tasting then onto the lawn for a picnic and a chilled bottle of wine (or two). Wines are reasonably priced and they have some snacks for sale. All in all a great trip.
Very friendly. Spectacular view. Great wines.
Love the winery. The people are so nice as well as the wine.
I come here with my fiancé all the time. We really enjoy the rustic atmosphere. They have a large selection of red and white wines to choose from. We simply just love the place.
First time ever in a vineyard. The experience was incredible perfect from service to the best wine I have ever tried. Beautiful views. Indeed will be back soon and often !
Great lasagna and wine!
Wines are great, with a good variety and nice food options. The view is one of the best and the people here are absolutely wonderful. This continues to be our favorite winery to visit when we need to get away from DC for a little while!
If you are a red wine lover like myself, this place is not for you.
Great wine, Great people.
Great staff and atmosphere. Good selection of wines for just about every palate. Worth the drive...
Love it! Great location, great wines. Awesome outdoor seating if the weather is good.
Nice atmosphere. Great deck and good wine.
Went for lasagne. Food was good, wine was good. Experience was eh. Been going to naked mountain winery for over 10 years, I have always loved it. I don't think I will ever go back. What used to be a balcony is now an ugly light blue colored room with small windows. My 2 favorite things about getting lasagne there was sitting near the fireplace, enjoy the wood beams and the beautiful view. Now, you can't really see any view and you're lucky if you get to even be see the fire place let alone be near it. There's nothing "wrong" with naked mountain winery, but in my opinion it lost what made it special.
As other have said, hot tasting room and disinterested staff to the point of rudeness. Cannot recommend.
The tasting room was hot, the staff was stretched thin and seemed disinterested, the wines were good though.
Dog friendly! Very cool little winery. Good live music. Prices can easily drift into the triple digits but you're getting what you pay for!
Had a great time tasting the wines and enjoying a glass in this beautiful winery. There were wines that everyone in my small group could enjoy, from the dry reds to the sweeter, fruity wines. Casual setting with amazing-smelling lasagna (I didn't partake, but I wanted to...)
Great winery in a very scenic area of rural Virginia. With a host of various reds and white wines to choose from everyone will find something to appeal to their palate. Summer time also offers some great sangria wine options and a nice variety of snacks including cheeses, caprese bread and hummus trays. The winery has a huge outdoor area with a few private sections great for parties and a huge outdoor patio area. There is a very nice private area for monthly winery members and great views of the vineyard and valley throughout. Brooke our wine guide and guest host did an awesome job taking care of us and made sure she followed up with water, wine and food no matter where we roamed in the building area. Make sure to ask about the monthly member specials - some of the best winery member benefits I have seen thus far in Virginia. Looking for a tranquil place for a group party or afternoon with friends? This is definitely worth a stop and putting on your map of places to visit!
Great variety had fruity white wines with pineapples, buttery chardonnays, earthy and jammy reds, and two tasting menus that they alternate each week. They also had a food small food selection there with a lasagna deal. $11 for lasagna, $15 for lasagna and a glass of wine, and $40 for two lasagna dishes and a bottle of wine.
We just experienced their Lasagna lunch. Excellent. Second year in a row. 10 of us. We enjoy their wines. Lots of blends.
wine is good, staff is a bit dry like their wine, cash register girl, you need to serve! a bit high $$ for a tasting, should offer $$ back for purchase.
Fantastic people. Every person working was part of the team. Very impressed. Wine tasting was wonderful. Mary explained all wines very well. Wonderful place, great experience.
Nice people. Picnic tables available. The road to get there is very narrow.
Pets were allowed which we didn't care for. The wine was ok. The view was good. It was a beautiful drive to the winery.
This is a winery/restaurant which makes it unique. Not sure if they serve food daily, but they had table dining on a Saturday while we were there Feb. 2018. There is tons of seating. Nice patio. Wines are decent. Especially white. Reds are always little hit or miss in Virginia. This is one of my fav spots for the atmosphere. Love it in the warmer months.
Just an excellent vineyard. Come during winter for the lasagna lunches and the gorgeous views of the Shenandoah mountains.
This is one of my favorite wineries! As soon as I entered, I was greeted by friendly staff. I ordered a snack plate before my tasting as I had arrived on an empty stomach. The demi baguette was delicious! The wine tasting was wonderful. I got to sample 9 of their wines. The wine maker himself poured my tastings. I had a fantastic experience with some fabulous wines.
My fiance and I visited Naked Mountain Winery last fall and absolutely loved it! We loved it so much that we decided to have our wedding there in the spring. We worked with Sandy and Michelle through the whole process and could not have asked for more accommodating people! They were amazing, our wedding was a huge success and everyone loved the place! We would recommend having a wedding there if you are looking for a smaller, intimate wedding with beautiful scenery!
After being treated rudely at Delaplane Cellars and they have absolutely NO parking we came to Naked Mountain and had a nice afternoon. Great customer service and enjoyed my wine.
good quality wines and really nice people.
Great wine. Perfect spot for concerts.... Hint hint.
The most awesome place you gotta see it and the wine is like no other!!!
It’s aight. Wines are much sweeter
