I had a great time at the winery with my fiancé! There is a huge lawn with plenty of seating scattered about as well as seating at the deck. We brought our own food and enjoyed a glass of wine at one of the picnic tables.
The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful. The staff in the wine room were very friendly, attentive and informative. They were really well versed in the wines. I recommend trying the rosé. I believe they also offer a horse drawn carriage ride. The reasons it’s a three stars is because of the on site store they have. I was not acknowledged in the store. I walked in and was able to walk from front to back and the store clerks could not have been bothered to greet me. Missed opportunity.
By far one of the best wineries to be a club member. Beautiful grounds.
Customer service is the best!
We came in a group of three and were seated promptly outside for our seated tasting. You could tell immediately that this was not just any run of the mill Va winery. My brother was in our group, who is also in the industry and is a manager at another winery in the NOVA area. Our wine educator was knowledgeable and fun. The wines were superb, the best I have had in Virginia by far, and I have been all throughout wine country in the state. We started with the Sparkling, that just so happened to be in the Oscar Award swag bags! Very neat. I purchased their delish Chardonnay for home and a glass to enjoy looking out at the beautiful pastures. Very picturesque. The wine maker is French I believe, and it shows through in the wines. Also, there is a strict 21 and over policy, which is a great change of pace. I have kids myself, but sometimes an adult only environment is just what you need. Thanks for a wonderful time guys, we will definitely be back!

Really good, and pretty diverse, wine selection. Beautiful venue Friendly staff
I was never a big wine fan. My husband and I stumbled into Greenhill Winery while staying in the area for our anniversary. I love everything about this place. I've always hated red wine for having such a peppery flavor but even their reds are smooth. We loved every wine tasted, so much so that we signed up for their membership. We get free wine tastings for up to 2 guests whenever we want and great wine! If you're in the area, please check them out - you won't be disappointed.
Two words...Awe Some!
The place looks pleasant and is beautiful.. Wine collection was good as well.. We called to make sure the closing time was 8PM, and they said we close at sunset Today its around 7:45PM. We asked if we can sit out and have the wine even after closed, they said yes. We went there around 720.. And they said they cant let us drink outside because they are closed. disappointed !!
The service was excellent and the wine was wonderful.
Nice place to visit on the weekend
I love that they offer outdoor, at-your-table tastings. I dont have to fight the crowd at the bar or worry about the dog, who isn't allowed inside.
Warning- they discriminate against families with children. Don’t bother coming here if that is your demographic. Children are not even allowed on the property.
We were told we couldn’t be on premise because we had our kids with us today. However our dog was ok to be there. If you are going to have a sign, just say no children allowed on premise. Anyways what a shame. Not going to step in there again. Will have my wine in a more inclusive atmosphere.
Very impressed with the property, quality of product and service. Reserve champagne was a rear game changer...
Parents Beware: No children under 21 (even infants) are permitted on the grounds. You will be asked to leave if you bring a child with you onto the property. Never got to taste the wine. My wife, 18 month year old, and I walked in and waited for about 20 minutes until we were very rudely asked to leave. Very snobby atmosphere.
Had the wine tasting for $14, the bottles are probably the most expensive VA wines I’ve ever seen. The wines were good but not for the price they’re charging. Also no one under 21 is allowed on the property- don’t think I’ve ever been to a winery or brewery that isn’t family friendly.
Fun place to pack a picnic, drink wine, enjoy the beautifil outdoors, and bring your dog.
Beautiful property, lovely tasting room, and as a member, love the upstairs lounge and most of all the manor house by the pond and barn. But! Most important of all, every wine is delicious.
The winery has a great atmosphere and the interior decorating is outstanding. I loved the way the tasting room and patio is set up. The wine tasting costs $14 per person. This includes 8 wines. The serving size could have been a little more generous. There should have been an extra bartender as there was only one person working from what I could see. The bartender did a good job working with the different groups in the tasting room and provided excellent detail into the production of the wines. My favorite wine was the Blanc de Blancs. This was a sparkling wine and not terribly sweet. The bartender at the end gave my friend and I a horizontal tasting of two Chardonnays. The Chardonnays were different as they were processed differently and the bartender explained their differences. It was an overall lovely experience.
Came with 2 others who were members and was directed immediately upstairs to the club floor to get 3 individual tastings. Afterwards, the waitress informed us that because we were upstairs, and didint do an online reservation, the free tasting offering for up to 6 friends didnt apply and we had to pay for one of the tastings. Wine was good, but bad experience due to them not informing us when we ordered that we'd be charged extra for sitting upstairs and not reserving online (place was only half full, btw).
The Best
Wine is good but food offered and policies do not accommodate those with food allergies. They are completely unwilling to make any exceptions. Immensely disappointed.
Very pleasant vineyard visit. Best when you come early or late to avoid crowds
Very impressive service during tastings. Open till sunset. Excellent wines.
Excellent service, gorgeous views, private tastings, beautiful facility!
A seated tasting was different from other wineries and was not expected. Really enjoyed two of the four reds I tasted. I did not care for the two white wines they had.
The wine is good but a bit pricey. However, their prices are warranted as you don't feel gouged. The grounds are well done and the staff is friendly. The staff is also mostly female because apparntly the owner is apparntly a bit of a perv.
Customer service was awful
Hands down the best winery and some of the best wine in all Virginia
Beautiful place. Good wine, though a little on the pricey side.
Beautiful property. Scenic views. Nice store with lots and lots of wines of course.
Charming, warm staff and excellent wine in a beautiful setting!
Nice place.
A wonderful winery the staff is super friendly and well trained on all the wines they serve. The views are amazing and it's very relaxing place to enjoy wine with friends.
Amazing wines and service!
Greenhill was a favorite winery until 20 guests showed up on 20 October which we booked months in advance... the owner kicked us out like we were vermon because we had infants with us. To be fair this is their policy but it was NEVER articulated until we got there... the sad thing is we were packing it up but the manager cane outside again and said I told you guys to leave like we were trash. Never again.
The ambience is awesome. We prefer outdoors to indoor. The wines taste good. You have limited options for food, but that's good quality.
Love the wine and the view from the members only deck!
Wasn't expecting much from a winery in VA. I was so wrong! Great wines across the board with knowledgeable staff to help you through. The grounds are a gorgeous place to enjoy a bottle and some cheese with friends. Will definitely be back
Took my husband out to his first ever winery and I’m glad I chose Greenhill! Such an amazing and fun experience. The views and ambience are outstanding. We will be returning.
I’d give a lower rating if I could. We arrived in a group and wanted to enjoy a few glasses of wine outside but were rudely told to leave after some of our group had already purchased wine because we did not have a reservation and they could not accomadate us.. yet they’re located on acres and acres of land. To top it off they told me they would refund the bottle since we hadn’t even been given it yet and my card had already been ran but I have yet to see the refund hit my account and it’s been a week. Continue to get a Voicemail when calling to talk to someone. Very poor customer service and very snotty stuck up atmosphere.
Nice place easy to find, wine are okay but they are way over priced
Adult Only - no kids allowed
Wonderful experience, great wines, friendly staff. Beautiful grounds to sit and enjoy a glass of wine.
The people and location was awesome. Also the servers was the best bit compared to other VA wineries they're way overprced
No kids. What sort of monster tries to stop parents from having a glass of wine?
Overvauled wine. Your philosophy is "to adapt my knowledge, and experience, to the unique terroir I am presented with"... it's not working at $45+ a bottle. It was very obvious that we were paying for the contemporary decor vs. the wine in our glasses. You've purchased a lovely piece of land, but unfortunately you've decided to create a negative atmosphere on a beautiful property. We've been visiting Virginia Wineries for over 20 years... the no families permitted policy is atrocious and goes against the grain of the family friendly Virginia wine culture.
Wines are sub par and venue is lacking in ambience compared to other vineyards in the area
Very rude and unprofessional , arrogant personnel, never going back
Excellent service. Very good wine. Great afternoon
Pretty landscape and seems like a good deal on membership.

Let's see, 50 min for the tasting after waiting 15 min with a tasting room about 15% full. The wines start with a sparkling white, and never expand beyond an 80 point pallet imo. $14 tasting. $3 value. Too young of a winery and/or grape to warrant those prices. The server had limited knowledge of wine or their uniqueness, because there was none. Pass
One of the best wineries in Loudoun. Great area to hang out and taste the selection. Small selection of food to accompany the wines.
My wife and I love Greenhill. Best red wines in Middleburg!
Cost $14 per tasting. Wines as of summer 2017: 3 whites 3 reds (see photo). Been here twice, this place has a new huge tasting room that is very comfortable with a large outdoor porch and picnic tables with umbrellas. They have some nice views as well. I found the price the worst part as they are significantly more than any other winery I've been to in the northern VA area as well as offering way less wines. They cost about $10 a glass as well or more. The wines I did enjoy as they had good flavor. but they are not worth the cost in my opinon. Recommend visiting if you plan to spend that much on a trip. If you're looking for more for less I'd look elsewhere. I'll adjust rating if prices or number of wines improve.
Beautiful surrounding and superior wines
No one allowed under 21 so if your traveling with children plan accordingly. They wouldn't allow me to bring my 5 year old in and sit in the general area while my wife and family participated in the wine tasting. According to them the wine was over priced.
Great red wines and a beautiful venue but not a lot of selections for my friends who enjoy white wines.
Can't say enough good things.
Excelente atención, con personal altamente capacitado y muy cordial. Fue una experiencia inolvidable, todo en un lugar armonioso . El menú es un viaje de sabores coronado con vinos de alta calidad.
We got to the vineyard, which looks lovely, but had to leave because we had our baby with us and it is an adults-only location. It was very unexpected and the staff was polite, but not allowing an infant even in the outdoor area was frustrating. In their defense, it says adults only on the website a couple times. Please clarify that this means no babies or children anywhere on the property.
Very enjoyable for a Wednesday tasting. Good wine
EVERY wine is delicious, especially the REDS! French vintner and his wife -she's the artist whose beautiful renderings are displayed on the walls throughout --have made quite an impact. A little more expensive, but worth it. Reliable quality.
When we arrived we were treated nice enough but when the staff noticed we had a small plate of food with us the scoffed and said that we were unwelcome inside and that we had to sit outside. This would have been all well and good but when a majority of the tables were reserved we were forced to find a spot under some shade where our pregnant friend could get some relief from the hot sun. Again, this would have been fine until the rude blonde working behind the bar came down and informed us that the area was reserved for their members only. Interestingly enough, the “reserved area” was completely unmarked and has a view of the stamped concrete of the building as well as a full action station of the staff dumping water off the top balcony. Needless to say, we didn’t think that an establishment charging $795 per year would even consider putting members in such a space so we stayed where we were. This was until the same blonde staff member accosted us and forced us to leave. I will say, the view from the non-member balcony where we ended up was indeed much more pleasant. However, if a view is what you’re interested in then I would recommend Blue Valley Winery. Plus, their tasting is truly what a tasting SHOULD be!
Great winery - excellent service!
Lovely property with scenic views. The farm store is very appealing and offers top quality items to take outside for a planned or impromptu picnic. We brought our own picnic basket so only needed a few more items and of course a bottle of greenhill wine. Couldn't have dreamed of a better experience. Definitely going back to do the wine tasting.
Greenhill Winery is all about having a great time! The venue is beautiful and the surroundings are breathtaking! I had a pleasure to work at Greenhill Winery recently and captured some great wedding photos. I've attached a few of my favorites. #joffotowedding
Love the winery! The Blanc de Blancs is fantastic!
Beautiful scenery, great wines, fantastic music, lively yet appropriate crowd, knowledgeable server, wonderful day. We planned to visit others while we were there but decided to stay at Greenhill for 5 hours!
This is a lovely vineyard. We had the tasting and the baked Brie. The view is lovely and a perfect place to bring visitors to the area. The wine however is expensive, mostly around $30. Recommended for special occasions.
No kids allowed, not even your super cute baby.
Poor customer service and overpriced wine. .
Beautiful scenery. Nice set-up with plenary of seating. Did a tasting and it was not a standard format. It took over an hour to do the tasting (6 wines at $14) and was not impressed by the selection. Bottles and glasses seemed overpriced. Better options available in the area.
Showed up here as the last stop on a wine tasting tour. Was not impressed with the customer service. Did not get the warm and fuzzy, welcoming feeling and will not come back based on hospitality alone. Wine was okay compared to those in the immediate area.
Nice and quiet place. 21+ only tho
Good wine and beautiful views. Can sit at a table to order tastings, wine, bread and cheese, instead of at tasting bar if u prefer.
Nice vintage appeal outside with ample outdoor seating (Tuesday afternoon, seats may be less available in peak times). Nice scenery with the grapes lining a narrow road with a great old tree on the roadside. Staff was friendly. Pretty slow afternoon but she was nice and served us quickly. She do offer a charcuterie but was not pushy about it which was nice. Wine was a Seyval Blanc. My wife felt it was French chard like. I found it to have hints of grapefruit. Pretty good on a hot day. We like it. When the construction is complete it will likely be very nice
Nice atmosphere, good wine
My favorite winery in Virginia for two very simple reasons. Ambience and wine quality and awesome hosts. Ok, that was three reasons.
Spectacular place thank you for hosting us again this year.
This place used to be history of Virginia in a glass. Google Swedenburg. Now its terrible. No flavor, no spirt, and has a bad corporate feel to it. Avoid it and drive to Paris.
a bit crowded but great wine!
Beautiful facilities and some very good wine, although a little pricey
Great wines beautiful location and the staff was friendly
Wine is good, it stops right there..... No corn hole, frisbee, or any other lawn games. They asked another patron to stop flying his drone. After Sept 1st kids will not be allowed. Good for wine and conversation but not for the fun ambiance I am looking for at wineries.
