Awesome experience here! I really appreciate they let you bring any chairs for the lawn area and can even bring outside food. They are very dog friendly and one employee even brought two water bowls for our girls! The porch is huge and has a lot of tables. The wine is very good also!
Good wine good scenery
Great Christmas cookie and wine pairing.
Nice ambience, live music, friendly staff.
Ok - this was a nice surprise. First class all the way given only the constraints of Maryland as a wine region. Beautiful setting, great facility and very nice host (Vince?). Chardonnay in particular was a treat, as was the Rose. This is easily the nicest Maryland Winery we've been to and we hadn't even heard of it until yesterday. Definitely worth the drive!
Beautiful space, convenient for parents who want to enjoy a wine tasting or picnic as it's very kid friendly. Best wine and winery in Maryland.
What a wonderful Sunday afternoon!
Great place!
This is a very slick event space and they've done a lot with the property and the wines. Maryland wine is really coming along, and in addition to good wine they've been able to make use of the gentle hills and interesting terrain. The tasting room (building) itself is perched on a hilltop with lovely views. Recommended for a DC day trip.
Great time! Awesome bands and great wine. Even my 11 year old daughter had a good time. Best Scenery of the mountains and landscape. Highly recommended
Love it!
Great views from the winery, like their white wines the best. Live music on some weekends.
Wine is a little expensive for a glass, Nice place, had good entertainment the day I was there.
We really liked the wines and really loved the tasting room. They go heavy with the French Oak for their reds, and sadly my favorite red, the Cabernet, is being discontinued. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wines, and did a great job with our tasting. We bought a glass of wine and enjoyed the stunning views from their patio. We joined the “Big Corkers Club” so we will be back frequently. If I mention winery and wineries in the review will google show me this place on a map search?
Very nice winery in the middle of nowhere. Red & white wines are delicious.
Big Cork is a wine lover's dream! Phenomenal facility, staff, and wines!
A really cute place. Expensive wine.
Absolutely stunning.
Very nice, curtis presented a great pop presentation ok f the wines Would /will recommend to all friends
Very nice and scenic views. Very nice and helpful people. They have food that you can purchase if you forget yours
Wonderful atmosphere! Great wines and attentive staff
Excellend
Very nice winery - New modern style with extremely pleasant employees - Must do tasting - $10.
Had a wonderful time here! The owner is absolutely awesome. Beautiful modern interior and absolutely wonderful wine! The cabernet franc is my favorite!
An awesome place for both kids and adults. The staff is knowledgeable and there are lots of wide open spaces for kids to be kids.
Best vineyard in the area! Great red wines and customer service. The outdoors area is great but does have very limited indoors space so plan to sit outside. You can bring your own food outside as well as lawn chairs and tents for shade in summer. Kids love to play outside when it is warm.
Beautiful vineyards with a view
I had a great time here. Winery is impressive and looks like a fun place to gang out. I was here at noon on a Friday so it was empty. The server was great and explained each wine with some history of the grapes and winery. I enjoyed the wines. Each was a little different than typical but good. The chardonnay was crisp and had flavors of apples with, to me, a little 'spiciness'. The Cab Franc was oaky and smokey, but in a good way. Made me want something grilled with it.
Fun relaxed atmosphere, music was great!
Really friendly staff, good wines and food.
Beautiful views and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a drink and some food. Their olive bread alongside one of the cheese plates went great with a bottle of white. Worth a stop.
The place serves large portions and for fair prices. nice staff. Keep up the good work.
Charming place, wine is expensive.
Absolutely beautiful! We did a wine tasting, then got a cheese tray and bottle of wine and sat on the patio to enjoy the day. I loved every wine we tried, even the heavier reds which i typically don't care for. The owner came over, introduced himself and chatted with us. It was a wonderful experience
It was great !!!
Beautiful setting.
Great vineyard with plenty of local wines. Loved how clean and spacious this place was. Staff was really friend and knowledgeable of all wines
Great selection of wine. Had a great time at the wine and cheese pairing.
Wonderful
Delicious wine and knowledgeable and friendly staff. Very enjoyable place to go and relax at!
Love this place and the staff is wonderful!
Nice vineyard, great service, recommend the tasting! Can bring your own food to pair with wine which is a plus.
Very nice.
we stopped in for a quick tasting of six wines, ended up tasting 7 wines and joining a wine club what a great place. We enjoyed everything we tasted, Vince was a great guide and very knowledgeable about each selection.
Great festival
Best Vineyard in Northern VA and Maryland Area. Big Cork is one of the newest Vineyard establish at the Valley. Beautiful location with beautiful decor and vibe. I discovered this place with a group of girlfriends and ever since been bringing friends and family back as it's always highlight of their trips. Tasting is normally $10, 2-3 whites with 3-4 red blends. My favorite is Vixen this summer because it's floral and sweet! People who do tasting are always super friendly and personal. Its normally super busy on weekends and light in week days. Check the operation hours before you make your way here. My husband and I enjoy bringing our own snacks and pick up a bottle to chillax on their fun and modern patio furniture. I recommend bring your own food if you want some thing to pair your win after tasting. I see folks bring baskets of food like cold cuts and fruits and some bring restaurant take out. I believe big cork is one of the only Vineyards that allow you to bring your own food. Definitely a perk! It will forever be our favorites. Please continue to supply Vixen!
Beautiful place inside and out I enjoyed a few of the wine's had a good time with my lady and her best friend
We enjoyed the wine but the experience was unpleasant.
This isn’t Napa. Very OK wine with a lot of pretentiousness
Very well run winery with a great view and very personal staff. Lived their wines and enjoyed the experience.
Lovely Winery to spend a Sunday afternoon
This place is a hike from civilization but worth the trip. Very good wines, great views which photos don't do justice. And a very friendly staff that know the wines well. Definitely the kinds of insane to just relax and enjoy the scene as you sit back with a glad of wine.
Beautiful views and amazing wine!
Really good service, delicious wine, great atmosphere, will be back!
Amazing place for a day out. Relaxing, beautiful 360 views, and no pressure. You can simply enjoy the scenery with your own food, or buy the food available onsite. But I def recommend that you try the wines on offer. Great place, you should visit if you haven't.
Where do i start? I love wineries and this is one of my favorite ! I went on a date on a Sunday around 12:30pm. We arrived at great time, did a wine tasting and i enjoyed the history of the winery and the wines were delicious. The winery is dog and kid friendly. They had an area with few games for the children We bought a white wine to go The view was beautiful and sat outside and enjoyed the live music. I will definitely go back!!
Planned on stopping by for a tasting after camping. Ended up staying for about 5 hours. Staff is friendly and very knowledgable - Montez was great! Tasting room and patio is beautiful. Corn hole and Bocce ball available to play. Dogs are welcome. Wine is terrific!
Nice place. Small tasting. Good prices, but wine was just okay. Nothing special.
Very cool modern place with a great view.
This place is amazing and hidden in the small town of Rohrersville. The Chardonnay has won awards and one taste will definitely prove its worthwhile recognition. My favorites so far are: Chardonnay, Russian Kiss and Syrah Rose. Of course, these are the ONLY ones I've had and enjoyed them all. I can't wait to visit again and try out other wines. There is also a Bistro menu on the weekends and every item my husband and I have tried is absolutely delicious. We especially liked the Garden Fresh Orzo Pasta, Maryland Crab Melt, and Roasted Chicken Salad Sandwich. And again, these are the ONLY ones we've had and enjoyed them all. I highly recommend you take the time to visit this winery and enjoy what they have to offer.
Great vineyard!! Awesome service by all staff, great location to drive to, amazing selection of reds, whites, and dessert wines, best senery around by far, open patio for family and separate patio for ciagr friendly people, dog friendly, cool selection of munchies.... I can't say enough about this place! We met some amazing customers and staff that made our visit so enjoyable. We even got the chance to meet the owner which was super cool! Recommend this place to anyone looking to have a great time.
The property is beautiful. The location is perfect. The wine is wonderful and the service was outstanding. It is the most relaxing place to have a leisurely glass or bottle of wine or to do wine tasting. If you are in the area, you should definitely stop in. They have very limited food available here so if you want to stay awhile and drink a bottle or two of wine, you should bring a picnic basket.
Beautiful setting with delicious wine (at least by MD/VA standards). They have great accommodations for kids so that you can better enjoy sipping a bottle with adult company knowing that the kids are also having fun...beats the days of me reading a book in the car while my parents enjoyed their tasting.
Great local vineyard. Good time, relaxed location awesome varietals... family friendly as well as a great date night...
Big Cork Vineyards is a beautiful location. There is ample seating outside and they allow families to bring everything you would need for a lovely afternoon. Bring your own tent, food, non-alcoholic beverages and lawn games. The wines here are varied and delicious. The Vineyard is great for parties and weddings too
I love the outdoor tables, it’s kids and pet friendly and the best part is the wine and the view
Enjoyable experience, right here in pleasant valley md! Good wine, food (including, surprise, crab crakes!), and lovely people. Modern open building, fine views. Check this place out - big grand opening event here may 30, but don't wait till then.
Pretty vinyeyard, with reasonable prices and lots of great seating areas. When we visited on Mother's day, they had a guitar/violin combination and lots of families with small children playing in the grassy areas. As with most local vineyards, the red wine was nothing to write home about, but their whites and dry roses were nice.
Beautiful venue. Good wine. Great friends
Went for Mother's Day and had a great time!
Great winery with tons of comfortable seating, excellent wine, and live music.
Great sceneries.. Good wine Good times
We did a tasting and the lady pouring for us had an amazing personality. The wines were delicious and the view is amazing.
I visited for the first time today with husband and children it is alittle pricey however very nice atmosphere. I will definitely be back agan. The view is absolutley amazing as well. Everyone is very friendly
Amazing wine in beautiful setting...
Beautiful location. Very relaxing and the view is amazing. Very informative and friendly staff. Surprisingly great wines!
Very friendly staff, good light refreshment selection, but more importantly excellent wine!
Awesome as usual....great staff, excellent wine and good friends!
Incredible setting. The tasting was a good value ($10 for 6 good tastes) and very laid back and comfortable. Enjoyed a freshly baked baguette, meat and cheese with a glass on the patio following the tasting. Highly recommend!
Great wine, try the Black Cap Raspberry. Only for a special occasion though, pretty pricy.
Just wonderfully fantastic!
We had great time at Big Cork Winery! The location is lovely, with views of beautiful mountains and vineyards. Anita cheerfully helped us pick out a bottle of a refreshing white called Russian Kiss, and we made a picnic from the food available for purchase. Loved the fact that the winery provides all the cutlery and paper products! You can also bring your own food. Tanya, the manager, helped us find a nice table outside where we could enjoy the live music. And Londa was so knowledgeable as she served the wines for our tasting. Overall great customer service! Very kid and dog friendly too!
The scenery is beautiful. Good wine selection and good wines. Anyone should find something to like. Beautiful facility although limited good options. Best to bring a picnic which is encouraged. Nice musical acts on weekends.
Are you kidding me? Beautiful place but staff sucked and so did service! Don't waste your time or hard earned money! I so wanted a day to remember. I did with dreadful memories! I was never so disrespected and given such poor service! 15.00 tasting, really?? We left and went to Antitam Creek Vineyards which was my second choice, to have it rate #1. Go to Antietam Creek Vineyards! Wonderful and pleasant staff! Love the whole package. You will enjoy! So glad they were there to pick up the pieces! 10.00 tasting and a glass to keep! Live music great day!
Great tasting room with a large veranda with available food and wine and entertainment. They even exclusively use Riedel glasses!
Crazy expensive for the quality.
The wine here is always delicious. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I am a club member and it was a great choice. Will be back frequently!
Great setting, live music, allowed us to bring own food... kept us there all afternoon!
Not one bad thing can be said about this place. My partner and I chose to go this place on our last day in the area! Best decision to make. We did the $10/person. Tasting. The woman that helped us was very knowledgeable and nice. We ended up buying a bottle of Malbec and sitting on the patio with the amazing view. We had some leftovers that we were able to bring and bought cheese and crackers. All of the small details like the cork bar stools and cork ties worn by the servers absolutely added to the experience. Such a perfect day and outing! Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area!
Great wine and a fun place to visit. Good view of South Mountain. Open a bottle sit on the patio and relax. Can't drink the whole bottle? No problem, put a cork in it and take the rest home.
Wonderful collection of wines! Classy serving!
Big Cork is awesome. Heather runs a great vineyard. Dave makes awesome wine. And the facility is second to no vineyard I have ever seen. Great job Randy and Team!
Great wines. Great atmosphere.
As always, wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff and great wine!
I planned my sisters surprise engagement party with her fiance and everything was perfect from start to finish. The wine was awesome too!
Great wines, fun atmosphere, congenial staff, what more could one want?
I'd give this place 5 stars, but $10 for a tour? Really? I just paid for a great tasting, and a couple bottles of wine, and you want to charge me for a tour? Linganore tour was free, just saying.
ALWAYS a great experience. Great wine, great service, views and atmosphere beyond words
Love the laid back atmosphere! We sat outside under the covered patio with our bottle of wine, provided glasses, and the snacks we bought inside. I like that they allow you to bring your own food if you don't want to purchase from them. The area around the winery is beautiful. Its surrounded by mountains which had lush green trees. I will definitely be returning.
We had a great time at Big Cork. The facilities are very nice and modern, they have lots of wine, breads, cheeses and souvenirs. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. There is lots of room for events and large groups inside and out.
Absolutely fantastic wines. They had live music outside with plenty of tables to sit. The whole staff was friendly and personal.
Excellent venue for wines of all kind. Be sure to take some favorite foods to go along with the wine. Will be going back and back and..... back.
Really nice casual atmosphere with good wines. They had great food but now encourage you to bring your own. Call ahead and check their hours and opening times. It can be sketchy.
Sometimes we forget that a winery should make great wine and is more then an event grounds. Big Cork may have great events, the best so I'm told, but really their wines are some of the best on the east coast. Terms like full bodied, complex, smooth, velvety probably best describe them. I can't recommend this place enough.
What a beautiful spot. Nice people and good wines.
Very elegant winery. A little windy today!
I am obsessed with this quirky little winery- so much so we decided to get married there in May. Service is excellent, atmosphere is fun and relaxing and views are gorgeous!
Excellent service. Nicole is a gem. Bought 3 bottles of wine.
Just went there today. It is Great. The white wines are very good - try the Russian Kiss, very unique taste - and the reds are good although we're not big a red wine fans. But the setting and tasting room is worth the visit even if you aren't a big wine person. They serve lunches, cheese and crackers as well as wine in a casual inside dining setting or on their patio. We were very impressed and we've been to many, if not most, wineries in Maryland and Northern Virginia. Go, it is worth the trip through the beautiful rolling hills and small scenic towns. If you live around Baltimore or Washington and haven't felt a reason to venture out into the western portion of Maryland this is a good reason to go.
Outstanding Maryland wine. Wonderful experience. The vineyard is breath taking. It's absolutely a great place. I really enjoyed the petit verdot, cab franc, and viognier.
Beautiful tasting room. Great wine. Nice menu. What more do you need?!
