The vineyard is a welcoming atmosphere with pleasant and helpful staff and owners who are often present to welcome guests and tell about the wines. The wines are amongst the very best I have enjoyed in Virginia.

Went to Veramar at 4:40 pm and was told by the person doing the tastings with another couple that they don’t start tastings 15 minutes before closing. When called her attention that it wasn’t 4:45 pm yet she was rude and ignored us. Will not go back there. If I could give a negative. number I would

How can you justify paying full price for a wine tasting and you run out of two of the wines? Then you substitute one of the wines and we ask for a glass of one of the substituted wine and you tell us “No”. You lost a potential sale not only on a bottle of wine, a potential case of that wine, and a potential club member. Great ambiance; poor sales.

I have been a customer, and Estate Club member, at Veramar for a number of years and like the wines so much that I've purchased Estate Club memberships for my brother and sister, too. Now I don't have to remember their birthdays or worry about what to get them for Christmas! As with most boutique wineries, the taste of each wine will vary from year to year. One thing that does not vary, even a little bit, is the quality of Veramar wines. My favorites over the years have been the 2007 Chardonnay, the 2010 Rooster Red (all time Bordeaux blend favorite), and the 2009 Norton. The Veramar Rose from 2011 provides an excellent balance between sweetness and fruitiness, which is a nice contrast to the drier Pink Chicken of years past. Another 2011 favorite is the Cabernet Franc. The only thing I need to pair it with is a wine glass! The staff at Veramar, like most spots in the hospitality industry, does see some turnover, though there are friendly faces that predate my arrival on the Veramar scene. Over the years I have noticed a consistent dedication to professional, courteous customer service, even in the face of such adversity as one might expect from a bus full of well lubricated twenty somethings. One of the really neat things about Veramar is the awesome view of the Blue Ridge mountains. It is the perfect place to take someone special and enjoy a leisurely picnic and some excellent wine. I heartily recommend Veramar for the wine, the atmosphere and the service.

Really impressed with the atmosphere and customer service. Not only is the wine wonderful, but the staff makes you feel right at home. A wonderful place to hang with friends or bring clients. A relaxing spot where you can unwind and you can come as you are. In my book that speaks volumes.

I got a membership here and it was a great decision. The staff is amazing and always make you feel appreciated as a customer! The wines are great and the tastings are a fun thing to do with friends. I love bringing my dog and relaxing on the patio with the beautiful views!

This place is like a farmhouse but a lot of grape varieties and wines. Maybe I don't have enough tolerance for red wine. I am a little dizzy. I hope that your drink is better than me. Then the wine tasting will be very numb. The better the wine behind! Of course, the staff is still very good at your service is basically a complete grasp of the rhythm! This place is suitable for a day trip. I don't quite understand that maybe you can set up a tent in the grape yard. Note that I mean maybe it is not really hahaha.
