REVIEWS OF Potomac Point Winery & Vineyard IN Virginia

Ryan Stahley

This place is absolutely wonderful. The ambiance is exactly what you are looking for when it comes to date night. I'm not a wine drinker at all, but my wife and I still had a wonderful time here. She was able to enjoy her wine tasting and I was able to enjoy polite conversation with those next to us at the bar, as well as the wait staff. The food is absolutely amazing. I will be back for that crab dip! Pricing is a tiny bit higher than we would like but on par with other wineries we have visited. The wife and I will be back again soon!

The winery and wine is very nice. We enjoyed our time experience there however, it is almost impossible to cancel your membership there. I've tried 4 * calling their membership office to try and cancel my membership. their promise to get back to you within 72 hours has never come through. Both their email and phone lines are unresponsive.

Dewyane Jackson

Great food with a knowledgeable staff.

Fun outdoor events and wine/beer tasting

I would give Potomac Point Winery & Vineyard a million stars if I could. Our wedding day and the months leading up to our big day was total perfection! Sydney and Chelsea were absolutely amazing to work with, they answered all my little questions fast and with tons of experience behind the answers (you can ask anything and they will always do whatever they can to help! No matter how small and silly the question/want/need may be). Sydney and her team were wonderful the day of the wedding, they set up all the decor, tables, aisle, everything! I had nothing to worry about at all (I was completely care free the whole day and got to enjoy every second with my family), our wedding was beautiful (the pictures are stunning!) and all our guests had an amazing time! The ceremony was on a very hot/humid day and immediately after the ceremony, there were golf carts available to drive our quests up to the winery! So thankful for that!!) Food was to die for! Of course the wine was delicious! It was truly the best day of our lives and Potomac Point made that happen! If you want a perfect, elegant, classy, winery wedding, Potomac Point is exactly the right venue! With Sydney and her team, it is guaranteed that you will have the best wedding day and beyond that you could ever imagine!

You should know there is no outside food allowed except in the picnic areas.

Brad and I simply cannot thank Potomac Point Winery and all of their staff for making our wedding more perfect!! We had the absolute time of our lives on our wedding day from start to finish. Sydney is SO organized and prepared everything in such a smooth way. She plotted everything out so well and kept in touch from several months before to the day of, and she even accommodated us since we had to move out of VA which made wedding planning quite difficult. The staff were nice and efficient, the food and drinks were delicious, the venue was breathtakingly beautiful, and I could go on and on. We were thankful to have our ceremony outside, but I felt comfortable knowing the winery was prepared to move the celebration inside if necessary. The reception was great too! All of extra options were so much fun, such as grape stomping, macaroni and cheese bar, champagne toast, fire pit, and s'mores bar. I'm proud to say we're also Potomac Point Wine Club members and I'm excited to drink their wine for life to keep the great memories alive! I can't wait to visit the winery again. Thank you again so much to everyone!!

Potomac Point Winery has to be one of the most beautiful hidden gems of Northern Virginia! My husband and I recently held our wedding at PPW and could not be happier! The entire staff at PPW is welcoming and personable. We could not have imagined this process without Chelsea, Sydney, and the entire staff who worked tirelessly to ensure our day was perfect. Everything felt so easy, stress free, and smooth. Catering is provided in-house and is delicious! Whether you choose plated or buffet, you cannot go wrong and there will be plenty of food for everyone to enjoy. The winery is breathtaking! Thank you, PPW, for making our day so special. This is a day we will always remember and we could not have asked for a more perfect location or staff.

Had a great time on our first visit today, friendly staff enjoyed the tasting and the food was great, highly recommend

Michael H.

Great atmosphere and family friendly. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Make sure you open a tab when you first arrive, and decide at that point if you want to do a wine tasting.

This establishment uses unpaid labor under the guise of a "working interview". Individuals work for three days, running register, helping customers ect.. then if not hired, you are told there will be no compensation for the three days worked . You are told " you basically were trained to see if you could do a job . They only pay for people in positions. Since you agreed to the working interview there is no compensation due you .

Avani Bharucha

Came here for tastings with my boyfriend who is a Virginia wine pass holder. Instead of being charged for only one tasting they charged us for two and sneakily did not provide a receipt. Disappointing.

Absolutely beautiful! The food is amazing. The staff is super attentive, and I hope to see more weddings there.

Teresa Anderson

Love it here!

My wife and I love going to Potomac Point .Will go there again.

Theo Weber

Knowledgeable staff & great wine selection. Nice restaurant (not open Mon though) and relaxing patio to enjoy food and wine. Offer 10% military discount. Beware that Google Maps will direct you onto Hoot Owl Rd, which is a private lane. Keep driving and the entrance is on the left!

Esther Butler

Terrific winery great staff

Craig Close

Enjoyed the wine, buffet and comedy show.

P Hayes

What a nice hidden secret. Attended my cousin wedding here. The wine was fine and the bc venue was very authentic. The personnel was very nice and most accommodating. I will definitely revisit.

Potomac Point did a fantastic job of making sure our wedding went along without a hitch. From the initial meeting with Chelsea, to working with Briana along the way, this staff works with the utmost professionalism. A few of my guests have told me that our wedding was one of the most fluid weddings they had been to, everything went along so smoothly. My husband and I are well aware this venue caters to a lot of weddings, but we both loved how they still managed to make us feel like ours was the only one they had. Everyone is so kind and accommodating! It rained on our wedding day, so we couldn't utilize the outside, but the venue even offered to let us come back on a different day to take pictures and use any space free of charge! I have such fond memories thanks to this staff; I can't say enough about what a great venue Potomac Point is!!! Highly, highly recommend them!

Hesam Shabaniverki

Great place to hangout with your friends even if you don't drink.

Vernee Martin

I worked with Chelsea who was responsive initially in helping me to reserve this location for a birthday celebration. We have been communicating for a couple of weeks. When we finally get to signing the contract, she explains that there is a $1,000 food and drink minimum for 12 people on a Sunday afternoon!!!!! This doesn't include rental fee and security deposit. As beautiful as this place appears to be, I think it unacceptable that this location wasn't willing to lower the food and beverage minimum for my event. It is not a wedding reception, it was an intimate birthday party! Chelsea knows that is crazy, and she certainly could have lowered that to something that was more reasonable. I'm disappointed in the customer service and lack of problem solving to accommodate a very reasonable request.

Kimberly Bishop

As a wedding Officiant this vineyard/ wedding venue is top notch! Sydney did a great job of keeping the day flowing!

J R

Fantastic service, aesthetically pleasing, good wine, expensive food that tasted okay.

Joellen Holzer

Food was good. We have been to multiple wineries through several states and this was the FIRST time we had to pay for samples. Not only did we have to pay we did not choose what we wanted to sample. No tour offered or given like other wineries we have been to. As a result, we did not purchase wine like we have in other wineries. Grounds and amenities were nice but very cold. If I had a wedding reception I would not have been happy with the temperature indoors at all.

Dewey Edwards Jr.

Potomac Point winery has a very nice atmosphere. It was a surprising find in Stafford County. The wines are good. I haven't tried the food yet, but I've been here three times without complaint. It's really the best winery that I've visited in Virginia.

Adam McConnell

This place lacks patience. Their saving grace is that the event they threw was a lot of fun. I recommend them for that at least. The decor was contrived. A brand new winery made to look like it's has some sort of history. If the winery is new, just make it look new and modern. It will age with time, that's the only way it gets that traditional feel without having an artist come in and do the job properly. There were 3 of the 12 wines I tasted that were palatable. Grapes harvested too early maybe? The explanation of the wines was either dishonest or inexperienced. No one could like their Merlot; it smelled and tasted like cleaning fluid. Their Cabernet was described as "earthy;" you know the taste you get in your mouth after a car passes by on a dirt road? Yeah, that's not earthy, that tastes like dirt.

I had friends come in town from SC specifically for a movie on the lawn at the winery. I’d told my friends how much of an amazing good time it was. We spend money and planned our whole evening around this event. At 5pm we received an email saying that it’s been postponed due to the weather when the event starts at 7pm. I’m sure that if they wanted to postpone, they could’ve set it up long before 5pm. Now , we are left scrambling around trying to make additional plans (spending more money than expected) and not to mention the embarrassment from us bragging on how marvelous of an experience it is, only for them not to be able to go. I emailed the winery to let them know it was a major inconvenience, only to receive an email stating that they can’t change the weather. We are truly disappointed in how this was handled. An earlier announcement would’ve been helpful

My husband & I went to “our neighborhood winery” Saturday (not our first time there). We took our seats at 4:30 and within a couple of minutes we were greeted, given water and menus and had our credit card swiped. By 4:45 we were still waiting for our server. We left at 4:50.... No Service. While it was busy, there were plenty of staff. At times they were grouped together talking and one guy was enjoying his sandwich behind the bar. Even after direct eye contact no one came to our table. Just wondering who is managing these “kids”? Fortunately this has not happened to us before, but service is generally slow. On a positive note the food and wine is always good (when we get served).

Jackie Kruk

Attended a wedding here and it was beautiful! The food and atmosphere were great. My only comment is that I wished the driveway was paved, during the outdoor ceremony we could hear cars driving down the gravel road and it was a little distracting.

Carol G

The setting was quaint and inviting. Wine tasting was ok but food really needs to improve.

mary johnson

Great venue for a party

Eva Miranda

Great atmosphere, wine and food!

Liz Myers

Wine and food were good. Not amazing but not bad either. We went at brunch and had the BLT and ceasar salad. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. We will be going back again to try the dinner menu and sangria as I not blown away by the brunch or wines.

Mandi Hart

Potomac Point could not be more lovely - like a slice of Italy in Virginia! The staff is very gracious and helpful and the venue is stunning. Highly recommend!!

Leonard Hawkins

I was impressed from the moment we drove through the gate. We had a great time sitting in the courtyard, listing to live music, drinking wine and catching up with friends. We will certainly be going back.

Samantha Degen

The Easter Brunch was priced too high for what we were served. Powdered Eggs....like come on. Also there wasn't much of any options. 4 desserts and they we're mostly stale muffins. The potatoes were bricks. Just from start to finish it wasn't a good experience. We have been to brunches all over the Eastern shore for the same price as what we paid for here. Potomac Point was a bonafied Holiday Inn Breakfast. Don't waste your money.

Lauren Post

Potomac Point Winery is PHENOMENAL. The venue is stunning, from the rolling vineyards to the elegant ballroom, and is sure to wow your guests no matter the season. The bridal salon is well suited to get ready in, with plenty of space for bridesmaids and mothers to move about. The first look spot location allows for an intimate moment with your future spouse, beautifully set overlooking the vineyard. Sydney, the coordinator, made the planning process easy. She communicated with clear answers, worked with the chef to customize the menus for us, patiently walked through any questions/concerns we had, and was always willing to help, all with a positive attitude. Sydney went above and beyond with our set-up, allowing us to drop off most of our decorations the day before our wedding so that we could arrive the day of with less baggage. The day of, we felt so at ease knowing that the team at Potomac Point were there to guide our vendors and take care of our needs, from a glass of wine to a plate of food. I felt incredibly relaxed on my wedding day and a huge part of that was because of the team at Potomac Point Winery. Our wedding day was more than we could ever dream of and we cannot thank the winery enough for playing such a huge role in that! PS - The tastings are super great!

Henry Jackson

Amazing location, awesome service with great food and wine...

Karen DiPierro

Enjoyed the wine tasting and the restaurant has good food. Can sit outside and eat or enjoy a glass of wine.

I rarely do reviews but felt it necessary to give a review for this place. Me and a coworker met for Brunch this past Sunday and had a great time. Overall, the food was good, but the eggs and potato portion of my meal was a bit greasy. They initially forgot to bring out my side of potatoes, however, the waitress was quick to remedy the issue. After our brunch, we decided to do the premium wine tasting; which was the best part of the trip. The $12 price was a steal for the amount of wines you get to taste and our attendant JoJo was amazing! He was so knowledgeable about all the wines and the cute little stories/history he told for each bottle was very intriguing and entertaining. We didnt feel rushed to get through the tasting and he was very patient. We were also allowed to keep our glass as a keepsake!! I will definitely be back ;).

Mark Giffen

Nice selection of wine. Food was very good

Rebecca Mann

We couldn't have asked for a better venue! It's so beautiful, we still have several guests telling how great it was and asking how we found it. Briana and her staff took such great care of us. I was very concerned about every tiny detail and she very patiently went though everything with me and answered all my questions no matter how many times I asked. During the wedding they were one step ahead of us the whole time and ready whenever we needed them. They worked seamlessly with all our vendors so we didn't have to worry about any coordinating on the day of the wedding. Every time we turned around Jonathan had a glass of wine ready for us! Every single guest just gushed over how great a time they had. People always say that something will go wrong at your wedding, but our wedding was absolutely perfect! We definitely recommend the Potomac Point!

Zenia Anthony

Lots of seating indoor and outdoors. It has a great atmosphere and is a very kid-friendly winery. We attend several of their events throughout the year. One of favorite wines is their table red blend.

Lisa Gomes

This is such a romantic spot with all the charm of feeling like I'm really in Italy again. It's a lovely place, relaxing, and full of ambiance. The wine I had was delicious and the food is good. I really liked this place.

Eugene Jansen

Jonathan is the best server ever!

James Prewitt

The wine deserves negative stars. Everything is blended and has a gritty feeling on the palate. The blends are muddled flavors that felt like they were pulling out my taste buds. Awful. The staff is pushy with their constant upselling and trying to push their "exclusive" wine club. Bad wine and push, upselling staff leaves a horrible taste in my mouth. Of all the wineries I have been to in DMV, this is by far the worst by a lot. Do yourself a favor and avoid them. There are better wineries out there.

stephanie robey

If I had to describe Potomac Point with one word, it would be wonderful. From the scenic views, to the helpful staff, to the shuttle service, everything about Potomac Point helped make our day so very special. The main staff, Chelsea (marketing manager) and Sydney (event coordinator) moved the moon and stars to accommodate us. The chefs/wait staff were also super helpful (and cooked the best flat iron steaks, according to my husband!). The sun setting over the vineyard created a view that took our breath away. Chelsea even helped set us up with a shuttle from the Courtyard Marriot to help our guests get back to the hotel safely. My husband and I cannot recommend any other place before Potomac Point. We can't wait to come back, just to enjoy a nice glass of wine and reminisce.

Olimpia Mandoudis

My husband and I had our wedding here and we absolutely loved every minute of it. Briana, our wedding coordinator made sure that both our planning and wedding day went smoothly. If we requested it and it was in her power, we got it. We rented the patio which gives you access to the ballroom as well since Potomac Point Winery will not double book. SUCH A PLUS!!! On our wedding day, the grounds were beautiful, non-wedding guest did not bother us, the servers were polite and accommodating, and Briana made sure we stuck to our time line and that everything happened according to plan! This makes a huge difference on your wedding day because while you are in wedded bliss, there could be complete confusion amoungst guest if you don't have someone helping everything move along nicely. The venue itself allows you to decorate your wedding according to your style. My husband and I have a bohemian aesthetic and it went seamlessly with Potomac Point's venue. Our only downside was that the amount of food we were expecting guest to have did not exactly happen. GRANTED - it did start to sprinkle on our day so we had guest both inside and outside until we moved everything inside, so this certainly could have added to why some guest left full and some guest left hungry. But we had such a flow of wine and beer that people did not even care! Ha! All in All, this was certainly the best wedding we've ever been to and would so recommend a couple exchanging their vows here wink emoticon P.S. I would also recommend getting ready on site, for brides and their girls you get use of the bridal suite and upstairs which adds to the fun and excitement of the day and for the groom and his guys you can get use of the coyote cave if its available!

Larry Molnar

Beautiful location, great service but pricing is a bit much since our last visit. We did enjoy some of their food inside, which you have to purchase, which was also a bit pricey. We're used to bringing our own, which now is only allowed outside on the patio. Since is was 30° or so, that was not very practical. Overall, we did have a good time..

Carsten Dreesbach

The building is a weirdly eclectic mix of Spanish revival and Tuscan architecture, but they make it work somehow. We went for a special Valentine's dinner that was absolutely lovely. Did a wine tasting afterwards, and I have to say, I was impressed by their wines. 98% Virginia grapes (according to them), and lots of very nicely balanced wines. A steel barrel aged Viognier that managed to not be bland, a dessert wine that wasn't too sweet, a rose that smelled and tasted intensely of strawberries without being overpowering, a couple of red blends that were extremely quaffable, a delectable Cabernet Franc, just delightful, one and all!

Gerson

Great winery and very good prices. I recommend the premier tasting. It’s only 12.99, which I highly recommend for the prices seeing the northern Virginia wineries, this a relative good prices as their wines are very great. And I tasted a lot of wines while I lived in Italy so this was a good winery for my taste.

Audie O

Gorgeous winery. The outdoor restaurant seating area is beautiful. The food is great also. I wish they would plant more trees for shades during hot weather days, then I would give 5 stars.

Lauren Mazzola

Wonderful winery with great wine and delicious food! I would recommend going for their brunch on the weekends. The winery is beautiful and they offer a lot of events throughout the week.

Antony Etienne

Great wine and a great experience

Amanda Dempsey

Incredible! Potomac Point was perfect for our wedding! The venue, staff, wedding coordinator- all amazing! Our guests raved about the venue, the food, and the wine! Everything was perfect; we couldn't have asked for more!

Kelly Ruggiero

We really loved this winery, Food was great as was the wine!!! Also the grounds were BEAUTIFUL!!!!! We will most certainly be back when I am in Virginia again!!!

Jeff Barr

Nice location if you live near DC and don't have time for a longer drive out west.

Felicia Smith

Beautiful winery with great wine and a decent menu. My favorite to date is their Moscato. I always have to leave with a bottle or two.

Marion

Absolutely beautiful vineyard! Lots of estate grown grapes and other grapes from regions like Portugal! Great tasting staff as well! Friendly, informative, and educational! Beautiful patio too! Make sure you say hi to their vineyard doggie, Chianti, but don't feed her because she has food allergies. Overall great experience and would highly recommend that you stop in for a tasting! Cheers!

Sumit Chhikara

Good wine, good service, and amazing food! I would definitely come back here.

Papa Ski

Too many scuzzy people here. Yuck

Sandy Brassard

Great wine for the wine lovers.

Mike Gingerich

Beautiful site, great wine, personable staff, what else could you want :-)

Nicky Coogan

We did a premium tasting and we were disappointed. The wines were good, however, the service was bad. They did not have enough staff and we had too much lag time between pours. The people to our right and left were getting good service, heavier pours. We felt like we were a bother. #localguide

Jenny

Awesome to do with a party of people with amazing food. Did the premier tasting which was nice. The guy was very informative, very quirky in a fun way, and yet gave us time to enjoy the wines before pouring the next. Downside no seats so standing the whole presentation and no food in the front was why the deduction of the star. The back room is very nice. Staff was attentive to our party and food was unbelievably good. I had the burger with bacon for a heavy protein kick and the chips and wow love love love. For dessert I took as pic of the chocolate bread pudding and its fabulous not too heavy but still rich in flavor. Reminded me of a brownie in taste but with the consistancy of the bread pudding.

Jackie Choy

Excelente, awesome !!!good place and great food and wonderful place to eat as well. Service great!!!

ray kassar

Not only is the wine good but they also have a really good food menu. My family loved it.

Yvonne Diaz

Beautiful location and the wine was delish.

Jillian Knight

What a history my husband and I have here with the winery. He proposed just over 1 year ago in the Coyote Cave, we then had our professional engagement photos taken here shortly after and we recently celebrated our marriage with an after wedding dinner/reception for 34 of our family and friends in the Barrel Room. We could not be happier with all of our events here!! We worked very closely with Abbey, the celebration coordinator, who went above and beyond for us. Not only is she very good at what she does, she is also such a sweet person. We had a bit of a rocky start during the initial planning phase but once we began working with Abbey, everything was so nice and EASY! She took the stress out of everything for me. If you are considering hosting an event here, absolutely do it! We would also like to thank Jonathon and the rest of the staff. The compliments we received from our guests have been endless and all positive. From the gorgeous venue to the delicious food, everything was perfect. Thank you all so very much!!

Elyse Anderson

Beautiful location, but no outside food is allowed in the courtyard, which is the first time we've been told that at a winery. Good wines but too corporate.

Russell S

Beautiful place! I saw they were setting up for a wedding. After eating the food there, I inquired if I could marry the food. Some of the best I’ve ever had!

Tim Pracher

Not a family friendly establishment. There's no changing table is either the men's or women's restroom. The food took a long time to arrive at the table. Wine was pretty good.

John Russell

Went to Potomac Point with my family over the Thanksgiving holiday. Spent over $150 combined. Sat down to drink their wine we had purchased and a sausage as well as some food we brought from home. We were told we could not eat/drink outside food by the wait staff and the owner. I have never, ever seen this at any winery. In addition, we were told it was posted and online. No where did we see this in the building or on their website. Wine is ok, management and service is terrible.

Brittney Korovesis

From the moment I drove through the gates of Potomac Point Winery, my breath was taken away and I just knew this is where I wanted to get married. Throughout the entire process there were no bumps, just wedding planning bliss! I always enjoyed meeting with Chelsea to crunch numbers and Brianna to plan each and every intricate detail for the big day. The entire staff was always available when needed to answer questions and make the process as stress free as possible for a bride. All of the aspects of a wedding are perfectly pieced together in their vines to vows package, and I wouldn’t recommend doing it any other way. The rehearsal dinner in the barrel room was the perfect romantic atmosphere to set off the wedding weekend! The day of, Brianna was wonderful in making sure every detail was how I imagined, even keeping all outside vendors organized and the day flowing smoothly. The bridesmaid and I were able to enjoy mimosas and lunch catered by the winery in the bridal sweet all morning and afternoon, while the men were able to enjoy wine and cheese platters in the barrel room in preparation for the ceremony. Jonathan, the banquet captain, was one of our favorite parts of the evening, always available with a fresh glass of wine, appetizers and making sure our plates and stomachs were always full. Time was managed perfectly, and our guests are still raving about the winery! The catering and food was amazing, definitely one of the best parts for our guests to enjoy! I loved the special touch of being able to add signature cocktails to the winery wines and beers offered, making the bar unique and different from a typical wedding! Grape stomping, photographs in the vines, enjoying the cigar bar on the veranda, and the views are just a few of the amazing touches that made our wedding one of a kind! Overall, the wedding a bride pictures in her mind was perfectly brought to light in the beautiful vineyards of our outdoor ceremony and inside the elegant ballroom! If seeking a winery wedding, Potomac Point Winery has the charm and beauty as a vendor and the personality and assistance of staff made the event truly enjoyable from beginning to end.

Allison Malone

I've loved this place ever since it opened! I want to let you know that the winery is NOT OPEN on Tuesdays. While working in the vineyard today a lot of people came in thinking it was open. One of them showed me where she'd seen on Google that it was open. They are open every other day of the week though!

Anthony Case

Lovely vineyard with a nice atmosphere on an early spring Friday night. The staff is lovely and totally spoiled our dog. He loved the place as much as we did!

Lucy Maze

The service was absolutely horrible. The staff didn't know much about their wines. The nicest and most knowledgeable person was the girl with the hicky that was training. Most of the wines were barely palatable. The only redeemable thing about this place is that it's very beautiful. I definitely won't be back even though I still have two free tastings for here. The wines and staff were too bad and to even deal with for free.

Vanessa Schuermann

Went there for a basic wine tasting and had a wonderful experience! The wines were tasty and the atmosphere was great. Kelsey, who assisted us, was very sweet and knowledgeable - we couldn’t believe that it was her first day! We will definitely be back :-)

Dorraine Petras

Such a beautiful place and great wine! Want to go back during the summer!

James Rice

Great wines, along with good food at a reasonable price which is rare for a winery. Usually the food is either overpriced or mediocre. This is a winery you can go to just to chill and have a good time. Not just for a tasting.

Sandeep Mahajan

Excellent winery! Went there for my birthday with some friends. Wines were great, ambience fantastic, and the staff very friendly.

Bevin Menezes

We came on a very windy day in the winter so we only enjoyed what their indoor facilities had to offer. It does look like they have multiple outdoor placed to enjoy in nicer weather including a court yard with tables and chairs surrounding a fountain as well as other seating areas outside. They have a bistro that serves food and their Sunday brunch is served all day. We will have to try their food next time. You have to purchase a wine tasting ticket from the front desk (which is different than what we are used to). We had two different tasting options to choose from- classic (7 wines), or premier (11 wines). We all opted for the classic. The wines that we tested were ok. A mix of whites, reds, a rose, and a spiced wine. We did not love anything enough to purchase at the time. Service was friendly. They have a kids play room with books, toys, and a TV that our 16 month old enjoyed. It is located behind the testing bar so we were able to take turns stepping away during our tasting to keep an eye on her. We were very happy with the set up. There tasting room is otherwise not very kid friendly- bottles of wine and other breakables everywhere. Our daughter loved the play room and or server gave us extra crackers just for her, so we all had a great time!

Jacqueline R

Loved the wines! More dry than sweet, right up our alley!! Not to dry though. Didn't have anything from bistro so can't rate the food. Jill assisted us with the wine tasting. She was knowledgeable, attentive and all around fun gal! Joined the club because we liked the wine so much!!

Brenda Jones

My first experience during lunchtime. Had a fabulous tasting experience and a spot of lunch. Superb service and such a beautiful location and facility. Can't wait to go back!

Harry Vann Phillips

Was disappointed by the quality of the brunch food served and the white wine served with my meal. But I will say other patrons did seem to be enjoying themselves.

tman406

Very nice place for brunch. Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere. The day was deary so it was not crowded. In better weather get there before 1030 unless you don't mind waiting to get a table. Highly recommended.

Marshall McCleary

Wine was great, staff made you feel really welcome. Great experience

Monica Smith

Delicious meal at the Bistro. Entertaining and informative tasting of 14 wines! Beautiful tasting room and grounds. Personable and educated winery staff provided superb service.

Megan Broesder

If you're hungry, the food at the restaurant is excellent as well. Everything was fresh & yummy!

Raymond Lutz

Probably one of the best, if not the best, Wineries in the area - period. An exceptional chef prepares exceptional dishes served by a very experienced and caring staff in an absolutely elegant Old World style Italian setting. Enjoy their wine tasting then sit back and relax as you enjoy their whole line of wines on the veranda patio or the upper balcony (or both!) where the views of Virginia's landscape are simply breathtaking at sunset, or in the cozy back room lounge area where you can meet and greet other visitors or simply enjoy some private time, or wander outdoors into the vineyard and quietly sit overlooking the entire estate. Add a very personal touch by asking to meet Chef Dean and his staff who will gladly take the time to personally deliver your dining choices to you and your guests and take a little time to get to know you. I am confident your your visit to Potomac Point Winery will be one the most enjoyable you will ever have in the area.

Robert Grimes

Fantastic local winery that offers more than tastings. Potomac Point is designed like an Italian villa with a well appointed tasting room, great lounge with live music and small bistro offers a tapas inspired menu. The service is excellent, the staff knowledgeable and the food is fantastic. Check them out for a weekend movie under the starts in the summer, great fun!

Melissa Cecchine

This is a lovely spot to spend a nice afternoon out on the courtyard patio and sipping some wine paired with some lovely food. They have a nice menu of food items which you cannot always get at a winery. Close by to the DC area. They are also open in winter which is a plus if you have cabin fever and need to get out.

1st time visiting and the food is really good. Can't comment on wine as I'm still new. Decent amount of sitting area and parking. Looks like a good place to hold parties or small group meet up.

John Giandoni

Very nice ambiance and they have a small play area for kiddos. The food is wonderful especially the ruben.

Nachiket Dani

Decent wines in a good atmosphere. Their dry wines are a bit better than the sweet ones. Some of their naivety in winemaking is apparent in some of their medium body wines as they end up giving a cough syrupy after taste. But a decent experience with white and full body wines. Good worth the visit. 4 stars for the great service.

Lori Forrest

We enjoyed a lovely Easter Brunch on the back patio with a wonderful beverage

Dana Herlong

A wonderful and magical experience. I can't believe that it is so close.

A huge Thank You to Potomac Point Winery for making our important day back in October so incredible! The entire team at the Vineyard from pre-planning & sales, to Event Coordinator and planning, to the Banquet team are all incredibly easy to work with, delivers true top-notch service, and will make quite the impression on you and your guests. Chelsea, probably your first contact when planning an event or Wedding here, is a class-act. She has designed several customized packages for just about any type of event and party and goes through each of them in detail with you. Making sure you are selecting only what is right for you and the occasion. Sydney, the Event Coordinator, is just incredible. She's so friendly, so accommodating, and really goes above and beyond of what you would expect of her. She works with all of your vendors that are to come in day-of, she works with the Wedding Party, and also is very helpful to all guests in directing them to the right place at the right time. Dean Hill, as I've said before, is an exceptional Executive Chef. His varieties and creations in appetizers to entrees and desserts are all so delicious, exquisite, and very complimentary to all the wines Potomac Point has to offer. Jonathan Little, the Banquet Manager, and his team Toni Peters, Chris Patterson, and Ashley King, are all phenomenal. So friendly, so helpful, so accommodating, and really, really, really know service. They are incredible. They are the banquet & service team you dream of for your special event. The entire team at Potomac Point Winery really made the most important day of our lives so fluid and flawless, we could not have imagined holding the Wedding anywhere else. We were sure of that a year before in the planning phase, and now absolutely sure nearly a month after. Thank You!

I just had such a great experience at Potomac Point Winery celebrating my best friend's birthday. We arrived in the evening without a reservation and Laurel and her staff took great care of us. The wine staff was extremely experienced, accommodating and made excellent recommendations. We were able to try new menu items (the broccoli Gouda Mac n Cheese was AMAZING!!!!) and were able to taste several wines. I highly recommend the Potomac Point Winery and you can even continue the experience by purchasing some of the olive oil (the garlic is my FAVORITE), salsa or wine to take home.

We have been to the winery on multiple occasions. The wine is always fabulous, most of the food is pretty good. Recommend sticking with sandwiches and paninis. Portions are perfect. Price of wine is average. Only complaint has been the variable level of service from the wait staff. Jonathan has always been the best waiter there. Want a nice afternoon, head to Potomac Point.

Ricky J Olson

Enjoyed the personal service at my tasting.

Jackie Foulks

Great lunch and wine. Beautiful day hanging out with family. Highly recommend :)

Kevin Lackey

This place was gorgeous. The wine tastings were fun and the food was excellent. Had the salmon tacos and wife had the flatbread with a glass of the wine we enjoyed most. We'll be back.

Josh Grontas

I have been a member here for a couple years now. It's a fantastic winery. Nothing beats sitting out on the patio and having a glass of wine watching the sun set.

Jonathan Holland

A first class venue, but why don’t they ever answer their phone.

Valerie Steffey

Great wine and restaurant. Love that they have a play room for the kids so that we could enjoy our glass of wine and they could do something fun too!

alicia amador

Kelsey was great! Promptly served our needs and made great recommendations. Atmosphere was very lovely.

My wife and I started visiting wineries when we moved to the area in 2011; we found Potomac Point and stopped looking. We've been wine club members of Potomac Point for about 5 years now and love to get out to the winery as often as possible. This year for my wife's birthday I decided to take her Potomac Point Winery experience to the next level with a surprise dinner party at the winery. I worked with the staff to arrange a private tasting and private winery tour followed by a dinner reservation on the veranda overlooking the courtyard. We held our event on a Friday night to enjoy the winery's Friday Night Music event. My hat's off to the staff at the winery. Chelsea and Michele helped me with all my pre-planning arrangements to make our dinner at the winery a grand success and the winery staff that was on duty that night from the manager on duty down to the waiter put their best foot forward and made it a night to remember. This was the kick off event for a weekend long birthday celebration to bring friends and family together for my wife's birthday and the winery hit a home run getting the weekend started in grand fashion! At the winery Friday night we had a number of people who were regulars at the winery and some who were there for the first time but all raved about the atmosphere, service and excellent food and wine. 2 local couples visiting the winery for the first time with us that night had begun planning their returns trips before we left. It was every body's first time out for Friday Night Music but all agreed that we'll be back again on a Friday night again real soon. We always enjoy the atmosphere and the people at the winery. They extra attention to detail and the extra efforts they made to make our dinner party extra special proved to us once again that we need not go further than Stafford to find a world class winery staffed with outstanding professionals!

Location/Atmosphere: The atmosphere, along with its close proximity to where I live, are the two best aspects of Potomac Point. They've created a beautiful and inviting atmosphere on a relatively small piece of property. My husband and I travel around Virginia and West Virginia visiting wineries, and it's really nice to have one close to where we live. PP is especially well-placed in the market, as it does not have much local competition, and is right in the middle of DC and RVa. Wines: Their wines are good, but they aren't the best I've had. The La Belle Vie is a nice easy-drinking white, lovely for a summer afternoon. The La Belle Vie Rose is a bit dry for my taste. I do have to say though, the Rabelos Desert Wine is exquisite, and the Norton has a lovely peppery finish that pairs well with steak. Staff: The staff has always been absolutely wonderful! Owners: My husband has tried multiple times to get in touch with the owners to discuss how they made their passion a reality because one day we would like to open our own winery. He's never received a response, which is pretty disheartening. The food: The food is delicious, but the servings are tiny. While I understand that this is akin to the servings in Italy, I think they are overpriced for the amount of food that is provided. They also seem to constantly be out of one thing or another. Overall, I really enjoy going to PP, and hope it stays around for a long time.

I absolutely love this place! I've been here a handful of times now, and keep going back for more! They have two different tastings available at the tasting bar, and a little something for everyone! The wine attendants are always so sweet and knowledgeable about the wines, and the staff is friendly as can be. Their Sunday brunch and mimosas are to die for! Can;t wait until my next visit!

I've been going to this winery for about 4 years now. I'm a member of their wine club and they have special events during the year that I always enjoy. I love the Tuscan feel of the setting. While I love their wines, I also enjoy going here because they have a bistro that serves food paired with their wines. You can eat in their patio when its warm and in a small seating area around a fireplace when its not. They have music on Friday nights--but you'll pay a cover charge! Tastings have different prices depending on how many you taste, and all their wines are good if a bit pricey--you'll not find $10 bottles here. Food is OK and service is more casual (slow) than a restaurant because they aren't interested in hustling you in&out, they want you to drink their wine!

Tiffany S

The steamed oysters were divine, the atmosphere calm, a great little secret.

We had our dream wedding at PPW in November 2017. From the moment we toured the venue, we fell in love with the Tuscan style and the superb staff that helped make our wedding day as smooth as it could be. Chelsea, Sydney and the entire staff went above and beyond to make our day unique and catered to our every need. Our guests raved about the food and beautiful venue that had the perfect rustic fall scene. The Vines to Vows package provided an all inclusive experience and took care of all our venue needs. We can't stress how perfect our day was, wish we could get married again at PPW!

Helen Racherbaumer

Good wines, had a wonderful time sharing with family.

Jodi C

Beautiful venue, super friendly staff, & a lovely tasting.

Greg and I went to three vineyards before we toured Potomac Point. We fell in love with this venue the moment we saw it. The staff were warm and friendly and immediately set out to make our dreams come true. Chelsea provided us with a very informative tour of the property and ceremony options. After we decided on having our wedding at the vineyard, Sydney assisted us with the planning. She was extremely patient and accommodating. She went above and beyond and eased any anxiety that I had. We loved our planning experiences with Sydney so much that we later moved our rehearsal dinner from the original location to the venue, and we began frequenting the Bistro too. Our wine tasting with JoJo was also an enjoyable experience. We were so excited that he was our bartender at the wedding. Everyone loved his energy. He was the icing on the cake. We can tell that he enjoys his job. The wedding and rehearsal banquet captain, Jonathan, was also amazing. He kept everything moving and addressed All of our needs. Compliments to the chef. From the tasting to the rehearsal dinner and wedding, everything tasted amazing!!! I said all this to say that we had a wonderful experience. We thank the entire team for making our wedding planning experience and wedding unforgettable. Greg and I are extremely grateful our Wedding Coordinator, banquet captain, bartender, and everyone who helped make our day special. You could not ask for a better group of people to be a part of your wedding preparations and wedding. Cheers!

Food was good a little too avantgar for me but I guess it's a winery not a pub/bar also there was a lack of anything other than wine not even some pop so no mixed drinks or cocktails here.

Heather Royston

Potomac Point Winery was the perfect location for our dream fall wedding! From the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, and then the reception Sydney and her staff helped create the perfect setting. Sydney was amazing to work with and extremely quick when responding to questions. She was always helpful with any parts of the planning process and took care of so many tasks on our wedding day. The food was incredible, and they even made a special plate of mac and cheese for me as it is my favorite! They served our favorite wines and we are so happy to be wine club members, so we can still receive wines that were served at our wedding. Thank you again for creating the perfect setting for the perfect wedding day!

Allen Simcoe

Good wine, friendly service, good food.

Fifi W.

It is a beautiful vineyard. It rained heavily when I visited, so I didnt get to walk the grounds. The food was average, nothing to write home about. And since I'm pregnant I was limited to 2 communion sips of wine. I'd like to visit again and really give the place a full experience.

Kara Metting

I Love this winery! The food is amazing and so is the wine. We have been coming here for a long time and we have NEVER had a bad experience. The food came out very fast and was delicious. They pair the food with the perfect wine to give you a great wine/food experience. The staff is amazing and very helpful. The atmosphere is great because everyone that goes here are relaxed and friendly. Honestly, the people that give bad reviews remind me of the rich people that think they need a grand entrance and a red carpet. Sorry, but go somewhere else.

Kathleen Solarczyk

Absolutely love this place!! Has a wonderful variety of wines with dry whites, dry reds, and dessert style. Their 2016 Cabernet Franc is definitely worth the buy! Also the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! Feels like home everytime I go. Check it out, if you haven't yet!!

Kim Specketer

We booked Potomac Point for our wedding reception and couldn't be happier! The vineyard itself was stunning during sunset and the ballroom was a perfect fit for our 130 guests. Our big day went so smoothly thanks to Chelsea and Sydney, who were both an absolute joy to work with. They guided me through every step of the process and I really appreciated how flexible they were with all of my last minute changes. One of the biggest highlights by far was the food and wine. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious everything was, especially the sangria. We can't say enough great things about the Potomac Point staff and service. We loved everything about this venue and will definitely be back in the future!

Gary Ginn

Great wines and friendly patrons/staff.

Brandy A

Not what you would expect in this location, visit was done toward evening so not much time to enjoy the property. The wine selection for tasting was pleasing to the palate. Would like to visit again when I have more daylight to explore the grounds. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in the tasting room with our wine guide. When we visit again, which we will, we hope he is there!

Monica Zurita

Great brunch! We had the steak & eggs, waffles, and burger with salad. Such a great atmosphere and a wonderful waiter. We also enjoyed the premiere tasting. The entire staff was upbeat and energetic. We will definitely be back.

Heather Wooten

I don't drink but definitely recommend the Santa brunch. Fun, well organized, delicious food. Adults enjoyed as much as the kids!

Justin Askey

My fiancé and I really enjoyed our visit to this winery. We decided to get something to eat before our tasting and were happy we did. The panini's were delicious and the server was very friendly. We then did a tasting and both really enjoyed nearly every wine we tried. The server running the tasting was very friendly and knowledgeable. With her guidance we were able to decided on a couple of wines that we ended up purchasing bottles of. I would definitely recommend this winery and will be visiting it again soon!

Rhonda Pellicano

Not only is the wine good but they also have a really good food menu. Worth the trip.

Sb Mcq

Really enjoy coming here for a glass of wine on the weekend. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Wines are great as well, and the cheese plate options are tasty.

Maigen Buttgereit

I can't say enough bad things about this place. I don't even know where to begin. They weren't even using there own grapes because they weren't mature a couple of years ago. Not sure if they are now. I have gone several times in the past few years and I'm sad to have given this place that many chances. Don't waste your time on the Bistro. Cutting the stories short...they are so unorganized every time I've gone for lunch and the food is so not worth the price. I had two co-workers get food poisoning after ordering the same meal here. Even with the limited menu, they are always out of listed items, or they haven't prepped in time for lunch. If you know your dessert takes 5 hours to make, have a separate lunch menu that doesn't list that dessert! OR have the server tell guests as they are seated which appetizers, entrees, and desserts aren't available/ready yet! I've only had one one decent waiter the several times I've been. He probably quit because the place is a mess. I've had two rude waitresses. I don't think kitchen staff, servers, owners/managers communicate. Today was the last straw for me. There were two menu items that were not available and then server had to come back 5 min later each time we ordered to tell us something wasn't available. Come on people! Not rocket science. If you aren't going to have food ready or available for lunch, maybe open later so you have enough time to prep for dinner...or as I said above, offer a different lunch menu. Today was the first time I've voiced my frustration because of numerous annoyances besides the items not being available (rude server, cushions being handed to us to put on the chairs ourselves bc they forgot to put them on, etc.). I guess I shouldn't be surprised at how the owner responded based on the way I've seen the place run over the past 3 years. She pretty much said I don't understand what was wrong with your experience today. Learn how to manage, communicate with your staff and guests, and learn some professionalism/customer service.

What a beautiful place to spend an evening with good friends and great wine!
