I've been a customer here since back in the nineties and I included a pic of my card to prove it. I've had years that I spent over six thousand dollars at this place. But today is the last day. Their wine has become over priced for the lack of quality, but I waited that out as the new winemaker worked to produce better wines. They cut out other wineries from their music festivals and increase the price of their wines at these events without allowing your club discount. I still continued to come. I had numerous embarrassing disasters at the restaurant when bringing friends to dine there. Finally I gave up on the restaurant but continued to enjoy the events and tasting room due to the efforts of Kevin and Sally. But today I was told by the owner David Morrisette that I couldn't bring a bag of pretzels to have with the overpriced wine I was going to buy. Fine David, the kind folks at Villa Appalachia welcome my patronage and my bag of pretzels. You have continued to treat your customers poorly while you rip them off. If you like feeling like your being squeeze for every last dime be sure to visit here. If you want to feel appreciated cross the parkway and enjoy the wine at Villa Appalachia. Avoid Chateau Morrisette until they value their customers. Boycott this winery in 2019.

Food was excellent! Our server, Mitchell, was the best! Lunch was pricey. We ate outside on the terrace. It was a breath taking view

Clint Schultz

Get time in the cool mountain air. Great food and good wine.

Carmine Dinitto

Beautiful place. Pleasant to walk around. When to winery didn't taste test but noticed there is a wide variety of wines. Nice visit.

Rob Miller

My wife and I had a date night several years ago. Food was good. Kinda of fancy and upscale. The view was really great and the staff was friendly. Little pricey. Great desserts.

Robert Knight

Worth the trip. Love the restaurant. Best iced tea....ever.

The visit to Chateau Morrisette was pleasant, the grounds very beautiful with an abundance of flowers. Since it was lunch time and did not want a large meal, we chose to have lunch on the dining patio. The menu was unimpressive to say the least. The menu selection was extremely limited, the food quality left much to be desired and the prices very high. The dinning patio is very large however we had to wait, with food in hand, for a table. Not because the patio was crowded, but because there was limited tables available. The menu was very limited. We ordered chicken salad with crackers ( you had to pay an extra $1 for a roll), hot dogs and bratwurst. I had expected to be surrounded by vineyards but did not see any from the restaurant or patio. I guess I am spoiled because only two weeks earlier I had visited impressive vineyards in Long Island, New York. I have also visited, toured and dined at vineyards in Tuscany, Italy which are beautiful, had great food and reasonable prices. Chateau Morrisette is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The store is well stocked, neat and clean. In my opinion, the selection of food, the quality of food and especially the price of food available on the patio needs to be changed.

Tonya Wanner

Enjoyed the wine tasting. Our tasting host was absolutely wonderful.

Audrey Brunell

Beautiful winery. The BEST wine tasting I've done in the area, the staff actually explains the wine, gives you time to drink it, very friendly and happy to answer questions. Wine is tasty and reasonably priced.

Martin Miller

Eats were off the chart.

Marvin Hull

Great wine tasting at Chateau Morrsette Winery

Ed Gregory

Take the tour, visit the tasting-room, stroll the grounds, eat lunch or dinner in the restaurant and you'll have just experienced one of the finest full service wineries in the country. Surrounded by scenic beauty and staffed by the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Brian Towe

Great food, even better service !!! Ask for Luke as your waiter. The best ribeye you will ever eat and the tuna was fantastic !!!

Leon Turner

Be sure and visit their restaurant while you are there.I carried some friends (from California) there and they are talking about moving here!

James Reid

Beautiful drive along the Parkway to get there. Good selection of wine. Very nice sampling area!

Brandon Handy

One of my favorite! Always nice to return home to see a local business doing so well... keep up the good work!

Daniel Shelor

I have been going to the winery for many years and I have enjoyed the visits very much however I recommended it to my friends for New Years Eve last night and was highly dissatisfied with the dinner. The dinner was one of the worst I had ever had. Out of the 5 course dinner only 2 courses were enjoyed by myself and my guests. We all agreed that we would not be returning. Food used to be excellent but not now.

Zing Sauce

Beautiful facilities. Great View when enjoying meal.

Lillian Snyder

We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation and was greeted right away. Although we were there early the time flew by very fast while we were enjoying the view. We were seated as soon as our whole party arrived. Our waitress, Jennifer, was very attentive and helpful when we were ordering wine and food. The food arrived very quickly and was very good. What a wonderful experience! Thank you so much for such wonderful service!

Eric Streich

Great views, great facility and great wine! Didn't get a chance to check out the restaurant but will definitely go back

Cindy Trobaugh

Good wines. Beautiful views.

My husband and I had not been to Chateau Morrisette restaurant for several years and unfortunately decided to eat there during our getaway for our 25th wedding anniversary. We had reservations, arrived early, the restaurant was not crowded, and we were seated quickly. Our waiter came over and we ordered. The waiter (Jason) was rather brusque, did not offer any options, and was off as soon as we ordered. We did not see Jason again until he FINALLY took the order of the unfortunate couple sitting near us but he did not speak to us or offer to refill our nearly empty glasses. The next couple came in and sat for a good while until the one of them got up to go find the waiter. Someone else brought our food and we did finally see Jason again when he came to bring us our check. My husband ordered the burger, which he said was tasty. I ordered steak (which was mediocre at best), it came with fries and nothing else - a bit of a let down for a $24 steak. The steak was small and rather thin. Due to the blandness of the steak, the fact that I had long run out of something to drink, and the fact that the room was very chilly I didn't eat but a few bites of the steak and none of the plain fries. I will NEVER go to this restaurant again!!!!! This was a complete waste of money.....go into Floyd and eat at Mickey G's for half the cost and ten time the service!

This location is not permitting outside food. All wineries around here permit a picnic basket. They say it's because they don't have personnel to check the coolers/bags but they will have someone there to tell us no outside food? Below is what they have posted on their website under Events page. To help us comply with Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control regulations and maintain our license, NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK are permitted at Sunday Sounds. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation This is not ABC's statement. They have inserted the FOOD notice. They are forcing their customers to purchase from their snack booth. We will not be going here ever again.

Mark Van Kleeck

My first visit several years ago all I could say was WOW!. When I go now I still say WOW!. Very impressed by the food and service, I like quality and they deliver. I have eaten around the world and this is a favorite. Scenery is beautiful. On my visits from Hawaii, I had to make a trip to eat here. Now in Roanoke it's a short drive and a monthly trip is a must. Every state has its great restaurants and this is Virginia's.

Colin Shorter

Have been coming to this winery for 7 years now. Beyond worth the 5.5 hour drive every time. Ask for Julie, she will always take good care of you! Make sure you go to the neighboring restaurant when you visit the winery! They also just released a new menu, and its exquisite!

Mac McCord

Always have a nice time here. Love the staff, and the wines are great.

Susan Beal

We were excited to visit this winery. The views are beautiful and it was lovely sitting outside. It was not busy when we were visiting. I would give one meal 5 stars. My husband was brought a salad with no dressing. He commented, "this must be the lightest dressing I've ever seen." I asked the server to bring additional dressing, at that point it was obvious there was no dressing on the salad. While asking our server questions, she answered one and then turned to greet what appeared to be regulars. That was the end of us asking questions about the menu. Our server asked my husband if he wanted more tea, he replied "yes." She proceeded to go speak with the regulars and we never received a refill on tea. So we would 1 star for service and 2 stars overall.

John Patterson

OMG, what a place, it's like a little Biltmore planted near the Blue Ridge Parkway in VA. First let me tell you about the restaurant on site. If you can be seated outside, DO IT! The views are well worth it. I had the Turkey BLT and let me tell you, I wanted a second one as it was that good!! After lunch we made our way to the winery to taste wines and we liked them so much that we took home 5 bottles of wine. Try their different style of jellies, I took home one of each! I would love to come back when the leaves change color as I am sure the scenery would be breathtaking!! You must add this place as a must visit.

Jay D

Wonderful food and breathtaking views. The wine itself is just amazing.

Bryan Schramel

Fantastic night with a wonderful waitress Julie. Deffenetly ask for her when you arrive

Lauren Lurz

We were extremely disappointed with the service that we received at the restaurant. I made our reservation 2 weeks in advance and still received a high top table right outside the kitchen (swinging doors and all) despite requesting a patio table. It took 15 mins to get our wine, and only after asking the host to check on it for us. After that, it took 45 mins to get our dinner. During this time, the server did not check on us even once. I finally stopped her to ask for some bread since we had been there over an hour and were starving. When our food came, my husband was pleased with his beef tenderloin, but my "quinoa cakes" were a scoop of quinoa with some cheese sauce on top (will post a pic if I can). Certainly not as described nor worth the $25+ that I paid for them. After multiple complaints, we were offered a 50% discount but the manager never bothered to even stop by our table. We were so dissatisfied that we canceled our winery tour and tasting so as not to give this establishment any more of our money. They obviously did not want our patronage.

Philip Cathell

Great service for the wine tastings and lovely location. Would be great to rest there and enjoy the breathtaking view!

Jill Cooper

Our group enjoyed wine and signature cocktails with a few appetizers, everything was very good and our server Adam was a delight. The crab cakes were our favorite. Beautiful atmosphere in the winery and in the restaurant.

Merrily Knott

This comment is for the way the outside entertainment is run and not the winery or restaurant. We went to listen to the outside music today. The entertainers were Ragtop they we REALLY GREAT what we could hear of them. We started off sitting under the tent. There was a table behind us of between 8 and 10 people. They never once listened to the music. They were so loud that we had a hard time hearing the performers. One women especially never shut up. Either she was talking really loud or yelling at her barking dog. Neither one of them had manners. Other couples started leaving from under the tent and moved to the side by the tree line. My husband and I moved with them. When we set up our chairs another couple along side of us said "so you moved too." They also could not believe that Chateau Morrisette didn't tell them to be quiet. I think it might be a good idea for an employee of Chateau Morrisette Winery to walk through now and then to control out of control customers or have a separate place for rude party people with barking dogs to sit away from the people who are trying to listen to the music. It was very distracting and disappointing. We were ready for some wine and a peaceful time listening to music in the mountains. Instead it was a three ring circus. It is a shame one or two groups of ignorant or self centered people can ruin it for all the others. This has nothing to do with the winery, just the way the entertainment is run.

Robert Saddlerjr

Nice father's day.

Kathleen Le Mons

Food was very good, but service was a bit too slow. Also, I noticed that they charged me to refill my iced tea, which is unusual. Charging for the tea refill seemed wrong, given we spent $50 for our breakfast.

Gary Grosser

Absolutely amazing!!!! I love it here, the wine is fantastic and the views are unforgettable. There is a restaurant on site, tours of the facility & host regular music concerts on site. I wish we lived closer.

Steven Hickey

Outstanding service, food, wines

Stephanie Gibson

Had an elite wine tasting for my birthday. Had an extraordinary time and Ray was just phenomenal!! I will definitely do this again and next time bring more friends.

Magdalena J

Loved the place, food was great, staff super nice and helpful! We got there on Sunday where for 30$ you have an open buffet and can keep eating as much as you can. They had great meat and really good cakes. We also loved home made vine. Restaurant is located high in the mountains and the view is amazing!

Brittany Billa

The wine tasting was great and so was the the tour. However, the restaurant was unimpressive, especially for the price. The french onion soup we got for an appetizer was okay. It was bland and not that great. Both of our entrees were overwhelmingly sweet. It tasted like someone had accidentally used sugar instead of salt on both. Probably wouldn't go back.

Ryan Nicholson

A great winery with some fantastic views. It's not cheap, I recommend going for the lunch menu if you want to visit but not drop too much cash. If you go for a late lunch in the winter, you can catch the sun setting off the porch and it's phenomenal!

Rabiî LARHRISSI

I especially enjoyed being in this restaurant with bird's and gaston's families. The ambiance is really pleasant and the food...Oh, the food divine. I absolutely recommand it.

Mary Hash

Very friendly people work's there and very beautiful place

Ronnie Lawson

Rick Ulmer

Enjoyed niice variety of wines at tasting bar. Pleasant surprise...recommend visit. Oreo malted choc tart at restaurant is a must...

Keith Neighbor

Have been visiting Chateau Morrisette since shortly after they first opened, and have never had a bad experience there. The wine is always superb, the restaurant (have eaten there twice) is very good, and the outdoor music festivals are well-organized and properly staffed. My only word of advice is to visit sometime other than during an open house. The tastings may be free but the crowds are oppressive. Any other time the tasting room is relaxed and congenial.

Dale Gurvis

I have been visiting MW for years and have enjoyed my time at their winery, but over the years, the quality of food has dropped and isn't nearly as good as it once was. The big attraction is simply the drive and once you've arrived, provided you get there early enough, you have wide open spaces, nice breezes and time to relax, enjoy some wine and food you put together yourself. I enjoy MW and they have done a wonderful job over the years getting people out to visit. I just wish they would improve their menu and the quality of their food. They can do it. The question is, are they motivated to make that change or simply stay with "what works"

Allen S

They gave tickets for a reserve wine and decided to oversell the wine. So after an hour and a half they didn't have the wines. They decided to sample the wines and not pull the wines. So even though we had a ticket for a wine they didn't have the wine to support it. So after an hour and a half wait we decided to cancel our entire order some they didn't have the wines you promisies. Skip this winery they don't appreciate the elite members so after $2,500 in spend over the last year. So no need to buy from them. Seems the quality has gone down greatly. There are several other wineries nearby that are truly a better experience. I would skip this one as it is not what it used to be.

Margaret Lenez

Food and wine tasting were excellent!

Lisa McFarland

Loved the atmosphere! Very quaint and cozy! Ray was exceptional in his knowledge of the wines and has a vibrant personality! Had a fantastic experience.

Russell Miles

We were there on a weekday and got a lot of personal service. Much fancier winery than we usually go to in the Appalachian mountains. Had wine tasting to ourselves. Sommelier spent a lot of time with us. Had great time talking to her about wines, the local area, and music. See FloydFest. We appreciated how dog friendly they are, even to the labels on the bottles. There was a wide selection of wines which we enjoyed very much. From quite dry to desert wines. We felt like some of them were some of the best we have tried. We bought a selection of bottles to take home. Patio was nice and had many butterflies on the flowers. Almost a butterfly garden. We did not eat since they were not open for lunch. It would have been nice to have a cheese/meat/cracker tray available to go with a glass of wine on the patio.

Roger Hawthorne

Wonderful food, wine and music!!

Earl Williams

.......momma bird has best food....

Brett Armstrong

Good vibes, good food and nice staff.

Lonnie Shull

Pretty. Lots of summer interesting activity. Nice drive through the woods to get here. Commercialized to extreme. Finally, this will cause a stink, In My Opinion, Have HadBetterWine Down The Road ACouple of Miles.

Laura Davis

Great food and atmosphere in the restaurant. The tasting room has a large variety of wine to please any palette.

Lynn Darby

Back in mountains. Very elegant nice music

Tom Dills

It had been a couple of years since our last visit and they have really upped their game. The restaurant has always been top-notch but a recent upgrade and new chef makes this a great destination. Winery is finding its niche and quality is good. We're putting this back on our list of places that deserve a regular visit.

Shannon Atkins

Douglas Lavette

We had lunch at the restaurant and it was very reasonably priced. The Angus burgers were excellent. We were very surprised how good the Black Dog wine was and ended up buying several bottles to take home. The wine tasting was very nice as well. The winery is very nscenic and worth a stop.

Dan Printz

My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We plan on going back.

Tammy Smith

Was recommended by a friend back home in NC! Was so worth the drive while on the Parkway. The wine tasting was a great experience with an awesome server, very friendly! Only recommendation would be to maybe offer oyster crackers with water to clean tasting pallette between wines. Wines were some of the best we've tried! We bought all the ones we liked which were about 6! The tour and restaurant were awesome! Great way to spend our anniversary!

Michael Parker

Our recent visit to Chateau Morrisette to celebrate our 50th anniversary was a total delight, complete with early Fall scenery and cool weather. The waitress was knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive and was very helpful with suggestions. The food was superb and very innovative. Our favorite for the evening was a green tomato and shrimp bisque--very flavorful and unique. The entree was local trout served over leeks and potatoes--Great!! Salad and dessert were both equal to the task of living up to the rest of the meal. Mike Parker, Greensboro NC

James Walsh

It's in the middle of nowhere, but it's worth the drive. Scenic especially in the fall with welcoming staff. It's Virginia wine, so don't expect a world award winner but it's all very decent. The building itself is a marvel as it has all reclaimed wood and uses pegs instead of nails. The dog centered themes are nice and they are welcoming of dogs. the large flight wine tasting is a bargain as well.

Jennifer Holloway

Great view...check Good wine....check Good food....check Affordable...check Hmmm....cant think of a single reason for you NOT to visit the Chateau! We had the BESTserver, Jason, who was super friendly and helpful. I cant wait for my next trip! Try the Vidal Blanc!

Ryan Swisher

Service, Food, Wine was all very good, but I was expecting more. The big downsides to this place are that they can't accommodate for large parties (even ones ~8 people), and that they have a gorgeous view but have tiny windows in the dining room so its hard if not impossible to see outside.

Jo Hughes

Exceptional food quality and very nice and friendly people.

Troy W

Great place, great staff

Robert Longo

Wonderful food, excellent wine, well staffed. Go there - make a special memory.

Steve Adkins

As always an excellent meal. Mitchell is an excellent server. Makes the experience twice as good.

BRYAN Hawks

Food was amazing and the wines were outstanding! The service was top notch! We're definitely returning!

Rebecca Davidson

Site said it was open until 8pm. Arrived and it was closed at 6:30pm.

Laurie Daniel

I would give it 5 stars! The food and wine and views and service were great!

Lisa Wray

Super awesome! Will be back.

Carrie Armstrong

Lovely atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and delicious wine. Highly Recommended

Suji Mao

This was the last stop of our Memorial Day Road Trip weekend and we really enjoyed it. The landscape and viewsheds all around the winery are beautiful. They offer wine tasing all day for 10 dollars a person and free tours at certian hours. We bought a case of wine after the tasting to bring back to our home in DC.

Dan Donovan

Beautiful place, great food - bring your wallet. Very nice grounds, dog friendly. Well worth visiting, good picnic spot.

Paul Currie

Great wine

Kathy Bogenberger

Found some awesome Sangria!

Gary Shively

Always a great atmosphere for music. Sorry that today is the last Sunday Sounds until next spring.

Elie Azzi

Pretty view, no winery feeling. No crackers to change your palate when tasting.

Margaret Martin

Very good

Chris Richardson

The winery, location, and principles of this winery are wonderful. The wine is subpar and overpriced. The business mostly caters to a marketing strategy around family and dogs, which is admirable, but even the servers will tell you that their sales increased with better labeling instead of better wine. The best wine, an oaked chardonnay, is great but not worth $40. We told our server that we wanted to skip the sweet wines because they didn't interest us. She responded that this wasn't possible because there were two groups doing the tasting at the same time. We've been to probably 50+ wineries and never experienced someone who wasn't able to handle multiple groups at the same time. We left feeling that the place was overly commercialized, and that there are number of wineries in the area that are less pricey and more focused on their wine quality.

John Vile

Wonderful staff, view, food selection and service. I cannot wait to enjoy this place again soon. A great place to take visiting friends. New laws allow them to be generously dog-friendly as well.

Julie Malinofski

Wonderful scenery, delicious food and exceptional staff.

Patricia Collins

It was awesome! Thank you Candy and Kevin

Jessica Nifong

Myself, husband and two sons (3 and 6) visited and had exceptional food and service today! We visited both the tasting room and restaurant. The food was so fresh and FULL of flavor, you can even see the kitchen garden as you walk up and know that it is going to be good. The entire property is well landscaped and maintained. The views are extraordinary and I can't rave enough about the kid friendly atmosphere! Cannot wait to visit again!!!

Trish Th

Service was good, for the price of the food it was not Wow food. The building & view is great. Probably will not go back, the buffet on Sunday that they used to have was outstanding.

Mike Ciappetta

Great tour, tasting and shop!

Shaun Robertson

Always a great time love this place and the people!

I have been coming here for music on the lawn since I was a kid! I came here for a prom dinner when I was 17. Chateau Morrisette holds a special place in my heart, of course. BUT coming here as an adult with experience in all kinds of winery settings leads me to this conclusion: y’need an update on your space. The grounds are gorgeous as always and there are wines for everyone BUT the winery tasting room has terrible lighting and cheap merch, nothing unique or exciting. The restaurant has delicious small plates (what we came for) and yummy wine. The space is out dated AF, at least take these wackadoo curtains down in your dark, wood paneled room. The people are lovely and the view is perfect but the space makes me sad and doesn’t allow for enjoyment of the view on rainy or cold days. Lol these curtains.

Victoria Shepherd

OMG this place place is what my teen daughter would say ON POINT everything just AMAZING the chef is just WONDERFUL and deff has a great hand in his cooking and very friendly he made sure we were HAPPY we will RETURN!!!!!

Dan Greif

They had no power but staff reacted well and setup off the grid. The wine is tasty too.

Susan Robson

Wonderful winery, very friendly staff and great wines. Impressed by the quality of the wines. Did a private tasting and it was amazing!!

Kevin Cockram

WHAT HAS HAPPENED!?!? My Wife and I we very unhappy with our recent Dinner experience at the Chateau Morrisette Restaurant.... We have eaten at the Restaurant many times before, and always enjoyed it, so we have previous experiences to compare to.... What happened to receiving BREAD with our meal? Not the personal attention that we are so accustomed to.... The serving sizes were laughable....WHERE WAS THE FOOD?............Who got the other half of my Shrimp & Grits?......... The overall experience was pathetic, We do not plan to return........which is unfortunate because we used to LOVE having Dinner at Chateau..........We will miss it!!!! Someone please recognize what is happening, and FIX IT!

Susie Mckee

My husband and I was there on may 23, celebrating my birthday. The service was absolutely great, our server was Mitch, such a pleasant, well mannered and very efficient. I ordered the chicken, it was good but I ask if they had honey mustard dressing, I love to dip my chicken in. I was told he would check, Mitch came back to the table and informed me that the chief said, didn't have anything like that but maybe he could get some honey and regular mustard and I could mix something up. I was told the chief was being ugly, I guess making fun of what I ask .I didn't find the comment nice. The more I think about it the more I have become insulted. A simple we don't have it would have done it. I did enjoy the meal . I absolutely love your Sweet Mountain Laurel. It may be awhile before we come back to visit.

Penny Bowman

This is a place my family called a great place to visit and bring friends to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. We have been members since the 1990's and have followed and been affected by many changes. Some better and most not. Unfortunately the changes have continued to negatively affect the long term customers who have stuck by the side of this establishment for many years. The latest attempt to control outside behavior by not allowing food into the Sunday Sounds is another nail in the coffin. Bringing in outside alcohol has been and still remains against the policy. The fact that this is against VA law has been has not changed. What has changed is the management's inability to control their surroundings and their inability to understand why people do this. The price of the wine has escalated over the past years but the wine has not changed to support the prices. Chateau Morrisette clearly does not understand who they are and who they represent in this community. Customer Service has not been their focus (with the exception a few individuals whom I will not name but I hope they know who they are). When you (management ) decide you want to understand the decline in your reputation, please let your, once devoted, customers know. For now, we have other choices at places that treat us with respect and dignity. Add photos

Chris Thomas

For the price and the location, the food was underwhelming. Also, don't have a "pie of the day" that's occasionally cake. Cake is not pie.

Nick Ward

Never had a bad experience here. They were packed on this most recent visit. And any reasonable person would expect it, considering the fall colors were at their peak. Somehow, the staff breezed through wine tastings. They effortlessly rang, swiped, and cashed out ridiculously long lines. And they remained calm, cool, and amazingly pleasant the entire time. I love this place and I can't wait to see it all again.

Dwayne Wade

The food was not good today. Underseasoned and bland. Most items tasted like they came from Wal-Mart. I will not be back.

Kelly Emerson

Ambience is always good. What's not to like eating in a stone building overlooking the blue ridge mountains. Food was however disappointing. I ordered a meat and cheese tray. Cheese not diverse, meats were pepperoni, sausage and shaved ham. No crackers, no fruit unless you count the teeny blistered grapes. My friend had burger ordered well done. It was medium and cold, so how is that not a health risk? Disappointing

Timothy Jenkins

Morgan Tyndall

Very nice location and building. Wine tasting was not very spendy, but all the wine was very very good.

Christian Neitzey

My favorite Virginian winery... Cab franc

Jackie Dickerson

Nice stop just off BRP. Beautiful building and helpful staff.

Mike Morris

Nice place, very quick and friendly service. Shrimp and grits should be retited tomato paste with a side of shrimp and some grits. Chicken meal marked Gluten Free was served with crotons mixed in as filler.

Mark Harvey

The winery sets atop the Blue Ridge Mountains right next to the parkway, so the scenery is amazing. The wine has seen better years, but the winery is worth a visit anyway. The restaurant has always been top notch.

James Lawson

A MUST.. for Wine Lover's,.. that love fine food also..!!!

Steve Johnson

Beautiful day, beautiful place! Ate at the restaurant & staff was wonderful, food was fantastic! The atmosphere is quaint, clean, quiet, & just all around great. We will definitely be back to enjoy other items on the menu! Thank you for providing a wonderful day!

Solfernus 666

Enjoyable experience that was hampered by a warm spell and lots (I mean LOTS) of hornets on the large patio. I had 3 hornets dueling for my half empty glass and another dozen or so buzzing close by. We enjoyed the wine and dip tastings overall.

Melanie Richardson

Nice grounds. Got rushed through wine tasting. Friendly. Got some cheese & crackers and a couple bottles of wine but didn't eat there.

Chelsey Kluth

Beautiful place! My husband and I visited Chateau Morrisette for the first time a few months ago. We were very impressed. Scenery is gorgeous, staff is very friendly, and their prices are great. We participated in a wine tasting/tour and we had a blast. We learned a lot and ended up buying three bottles of wine because we loved so many of them!

Lars Hindsley

Really truly a perfect outing. The setting is spectacular. Rolling hills, astounding architecture. No bugs! There is a tent just in case it rains. Staff is super kind and hospitable. The wine is quite well managed. Prices are perfect.

Piotr Korczynski

A great escape away from your everyday life. Jess and I love to hop on the parkway, enjoy the scenery of the drive to the winery, do the wine tasting, enjoy the tour, then drive a few miles to Mabry Mill.

Georgia L

My husband and I visited today for our anniversary. Amazing views and delicious food. Staff was very friendly and courteous

Brandon Eaton

Wonderful! Julie was our server and she was great!!

Debbie Dalton

Late lunch Saturday. Gabriel was our server and he was great. The food was delicious. Flatbread app is always good. Thanks Gabe

My friends took me last night to the wine pairing dinner for my birthday. The atmosphere, wine and food was wonderful! And the staff could not have been more exceptional! Thank you!

Daniel Edwards

Had a great tasting. Very nice young lady and really enjoyed the wines.

Wendy Prewette

Love that it has a dog as a logo and pet friendly.

kristen

My husband and I came here yesterday and the food quality was very unimpressive. The quality truly reminded me of public school cafeteria food, but with a much higher price. I have no issue paying that much money for food when the quality is worth the price I pay for it... But I'm sorry to say this was not the case. The bread we were given before the meal was completely stale. I was actually surprised they serve that to people. My husbands burger took forever to come out of the kitchen (I am forgiving of peak times - I know food takes a long time during busy hours but it was not particularly busy at that time... Yet we still ended up waiting a very long time for our food) and when it did come out of the kitchen it was completely raw. When we sent it back we also let the manager know we sent it back because it was raw. She never came back to check on us. I was very very disappointed with my visit. I expected good quality food and service, and this did not come close to meeting my expectations. I have never been to a restaurant before where you could send food back and not have someone check back with you about it to make sure you leave happy. We left very unhappy. I have actually never written a negative review of a business before, but I truly hope to save someone from wasting their money like I did. I have been to places where the food did not come out correctly, or some other mishap happened and I brush that right off when the manager actually cares and makes an attempt to set things right. We brought it to her attention and that was the last we saw or heard of her. Really disappointed in this place unfortunately. I will say... The waitress was just fine and so was the wine. I think this place could be nice if you came in the summer to sit outside and enjoy the view and drink wine only. I do not recommend ordering food.

Wine was good but service at the virginia wine festival was terrible. The woman serving wine was extremely rude.

This an amazing spot. I came with my boyfriend and his family to do a wine tasting. We were the only ones there at 4:30pm on a Monday. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. And the wine! Wow, so delicious. The property is stunning as well as the interior and decor. They also have an extensive gift shop.

Do it your self guy

My wife and I stopped here on our honeymoon, the wine was fantastic!
