Where do I begin? From the excellent service to the beautiful scenery, this place has it all! The food is fantastic, the wines are superb and the people employed there are a complete wonder! I can't get enough of 868! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Aarti Bansal

A relaxing venue with nice outdoor space and cozy wine selection of 1/2 dozen bottles. While Breaux was bustling across the road with sweeping vineyard views, I enjoyed the more spacious and casual family-friendly atmosphere of 868. There was a musician singing and playing soft songs on a guitar that we all enjoyed. The 3 hour trivia definitely put our skills to the test with some stiff competition! The Truffle pairing tasting at $16 is well worth and a much better than the $12 Standard tasting, $4 really goes a long way. I wasn't really a fan of the 6 wines from the flight. In the 5 hour duration, I got a couple of glasses of the acidic Viognier and felt quite drowsy afterwards. The Mango slushee was sugary sweet and the wine pourer kindly gave me a sample with my flight. The grill limited grill menu has bbq, fish tacos, hot dogs, meatballs subs, glad to see the Vegan Meatball Sub make it on there! The sub was a bit disappointing as the toppings fell out, bread wasn't fresh, and the meatballs tasted processed. My friends seemed to enjoy their meaty food. There are some finger foods like the giant pretzel and bruschetta that I want to try next time! If you're looking to get away from the swarming crowds of Breaux and like bbq, head over to 868.

Good wine, we went with our dog and spent a great time at the outdoors!

We stopped at 868 with time for a wine tasting before our dinner reservation. It turned out perfect because we were able to find the perfect wine for dinner. Dani had the traditional tasting of 4 whites and 3 red wines. However, I opted for a red flight of 3 reds, and our server threw in an extra so I could try all of their red wines. The wine tasting was fantastic, but the food at dinner was even better! We had the Local Lamb Cherry Meatballs appetizer and filet mignon for dinner which was excellent pairing with the Cabernet Franc wine.

Went to 868 on a beautiful June Saturday with my wife and sister-in-law who is local to Northern Virginia. We brought lunch but were treated to a calm and peaceful atmosphere in the most beautiful and stunning location. As an artist this little gem is tucked off the beaten path but well worth the trip. There was a little duet playing music, families picnicking with children and couples enjoying a lovely bucolic afternoon. A small wedding party arrived but there was no issue for space and it seemed to be an organic spot to start a marriage. On a personal note I neglected to pick up my camera bag upon departure and when I called later not only did the owner Nancy knew it was mine she graciously offered to drop it off on her way home. That’s the most amazing personal touch. The wine we tried was delicious and is now my wife’s favorite. Pick a day, take a ride And visit this most wonderful vineyard!!!

We live in the area and frequent many of the local wineries. This one, by far the BEST. The rose was exceptionally tasty and they had beer for my husband. Best vineyard band we've ever herd was playing, too. Very nice...

Duane Miller

Tom was great during the tasting. The elevated tasting was a great way to showcase the wines. The petite Verdon was awesome.

Dana Pennell

Good wine, truffles and wine slushies BUT the service was lacking. Waited an inordinate amount of time to be served. Will not be coming back.

Lauren Lazo

Had a great experience and learned so much from Tom and his knowledge of wine!

Rose Tunick

Very small unattractive winery--went on a Wed and was overcharged for an old meat/cheese plate--nicer places nearby

Erin Schmidt

Ben and the rest of the staff at 868 went above and beyond to make our 14-person bachelorette party wine tasting a fun and memorable experience! From helping us figure out a rain plan to assisting with the music/speakers to the knowledgeable overviews of all the wines, Ben was such a good sport and made sure we had an awesome time!! Would highly recommend 868 for group outings and will definitely be back!

Great wine and wonderful space outside to relax! Pet friendly!

Raneé Sager Bartley

We didn't get to stay long at this one and look around, but the old buildings on the property were neat and they have a nice food menu. Ended up getting two bottles of white.

Tim Smith

Great wine and a real nice place, especially the outdoor areas.

Chuck Boyer

Nice people, good wine and hospitality

Brad Provencher

Pretty neat winery to visit. Tastings are good. Very friendly staff who are very knowledgeable about their offerings and how to help you find something you will enjoy. This is the only winery we have been to in this winery strip, so until we get to others it gets a 4, but may upgrade to a 5. Really good experience. Food was good, but not quite as good as I expected for the price.

Taren Meekins

Tom was a great wine expert! We did the elevated tasting, which was wonderful! The Rousanne was delicious, and all the sides with the wines were super yummy. Definitely recommend this place!

Chris Butterworth

This is our third visit to this winery and have had a wonderful experience each time! Our guide this time was Tom... he also works in the cellar and he gives you a perspective from that side of the winery as well. Try the Riesling!

Lauren Storm

Tom is great and the Riesling is delicious!

Melanie Horahan

Bob Nicholson

Pulled pork excellent, oh yeah and the wine!

Nathan B.

The first time we visited here we did the elevated tasting for $22 and ot was amazing. We had pairings that includes watermelon and crab meat and seemed so far above any other winery in the area. However, once we became members the customer service, tasting size and quality went down hill and everything (including food at the Grandale restuarant) became disappointing. Not recommended!

J C

The service was very friendly but for our group, the wines were a hard miss! Overly sweet and fruity wines. Like fruit juice.

Kate Grandfield

Had a lovely time here. The wine was good (some of it was great) and the woman who served us was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The space itself is lovely and we very much hope to go back sometime when the restaurant is open.

Gerardo Tiscareño Castro

We visited several wineries in the area and this was my absolute favorite, the wine was absolutely fantastic, and they have a delicious food pairing option for the tasting. However, the highlight of this winery was not the delicious food pairing, the beautiful estate, or even the outstanding wines, but the service was just absolutely exquisite. It had a perfect balance of hospitality, and a deep knowledge reflecting their savoir faire. I cannot wait to come back!

Don Feeser

Mixed feelings about this winery. The wines are good ones, especially the Cabernet Franc. Unlike many other vineyards, one has to purchase any snacks, such as little pretzels, to help cleanse the palate. There are positives and negatives about the restaurant. Of note are: The price is fixed at $38 per person. No discounts for kids or seniors. The focus is on presentation and on the chef, specifically the combination of flavors. It is not a restaurant for you if you are happiest with larger portions. The menu is somewhat fixed. There are 3-5 choices for each of three courses, but there are no substitutions whatsoever. I chose the crabcake as Course 1. The not what was expected. the crabcake, a small one. Usually, the crab in the cake takes center stage. At 868, the chef has decided that the spices in the cake are the main attraction. He might as well have put into it something other than crab. My second course was a 6 oz. filet mignon. I requested it be cooked medium. It was a little rarer than I expected, but it was very tender and quite tasty. My first option was the seafood - shrimp and crab, but it was explained that most of this choice was angel hair pasta with shrimp and a little crab, and all mixed with a rosemary cream sauce. No option for a pasta purest who would rather have the traditional tomato sauce instead. For dessert, I chose a chocolate torte. The portion was fine - average size - but it was perfect for such a super rich item. I got a to-go box for the part I could not finish. Overall, the experience was okay. My expectations were higher for the price and for the restricted menu. Wines are worth four stars. Restaurant is 2 stars.

Super rude and expensive.

Katarina Bennett

Poor customer service... my friends and I were doing a wine and truffle tasting and we were joking, laughing, and taking pics and wanted to order wine slushies but they told us we were cut off by the manager! I asked, really? From one wine tasting? And she told me she wasn't gonna argue with me about it.... I am appalled and livid. Worst customer service I've ever had.

Great wines, especially the cab franc and petit verdot. Great outdoor space to get together with friends and family. We had a tasting with Tom, who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines.

We always look forward to stopping by 868. We're members at a few other wineries nearby (in addition to 868, of course) and the staff at 868 is always friendly, informative, and fun. Did I mention they have truffles available to pair with your wine tasting? My favorite wines are the Sauvignon Blanc and their Cab Franc. Definitely worth checking out. You won't regret it!

K. Manz

Sunday is the day to come here. Wonderful staff and good wine. The merlot was my favorite.

George Hefner

3rd time was not a charm. there are much better tasting rooms that actually grow their own grapes. If you like 868 you will love Trader Joe's.

Sarah Carter

Tom was very attentive and knowledgeable! Great scenic views and wines are delicious!

Becky Preusser

We had a great time at 868 Estate Vineyards. Our tasting with Tom was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed the wines! The winery is beautiful, they had great music and they are dog friendly.

Alison Schiller

Went to 868 vineyards for the first time and it was great. 3 different options for tastings with pairings of truffles and small plates. Tom our wine tasting expert was excellent-explained the difference in the wines and allowed us to try the different year varieties of the same wines (that might not have been on the tasting menu...). Great wine, people and food. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

Lindsay Andersen

Beautiful winery, friendly staff, and great wine! Tom lead our tastings and was very knowledgeable about the wine and gave great pours. Overall, day well spent at 868!

The wine tasting was phenomenal - we got to sample 6 wines for just $8! I particularly enjoyed the Rosé and Meritage. We also sampled grapes that were straight from the vineyard. Tom at the bar was very friendly and has been to sommelier school, meaning that he has in-depth knowledge of all the different wines. Definitely check this place out!

My wife and I went on a winery tour in the area to celebrate our anniversary and decided to stop by this Vineyard. We both got a tasting: one elevated and one chocolate truffle. WOW! The food, the chocolate, and of course, the wine, were fantastic! You can tell they make it a passion of theirs to make excellent wine and to pair it with excellent food and chocolate (thanks to the on-site restaurant). To make the trip extra special, the tasting room managers threw in some truffles along with our newly acquired membership to congratulate us on the anniversary. We can't wait to come back!

Daniel Wilski

Visited 868 Estate Vineyards had a great time wine tasting. Our host Tim was very friendly and provided awesome service and provide great background into the wines and estates. This is a must stop if you are in the area.

Meredith Brooks

Super friendly staff and a nice atmosphere in the tasting room. The wines we tasted were all pleasant. For our palettes, nothing was outstanding, but we do not regret stopping in. The friendly cat on the property was also a nice way to be greeted to the tasting room.

Meaghan Griffith

Beautiful winery!

Catourey RayVLOGS

Nice cozy place. The tasting was very nice and the truffles were delicious!

Karen Baker

Beautiful scenery, great music and food.

Erik

A nice place and friendly atmosphere their sweeter wines were good but the Chardonnay was rough. They have a $8 wine tasting with 7 dif wines and a $14 wine and chocolate truffle pairing. I'd suggest splitting one truffle plate it was a lot of chocolate for one person. It was fun though better than some wineries not as good as some others. Falls in the middle.

Joshua McDaniel

We did the wine and truffle pairing. Amazing. One of the owners walked us through the tastings. The grounds are beautiful. I'd love to be around for an event there. We didn't get to try the restaurant or microbrewery.

Camille Wu

Fun atmosphere with a summer concert, $10 wine tasting, and burgers being served outside.

JP Mcmann

Solid wine, nice layout on the estate and a very tasty restaurant (Grandale) on the same property. Fun place for a tasting or to spend the afternoon.

Ana Maria Ramirez

I could not be happier with this vineyard! My husband and I came to celebrate our anniversary over the weekend and ended up at 868 Estate Vineyards where they did the tastings with either truffles or food samples that were paired with the wines! I went weak at the knees with every tasting, which led us to become members of this vineyard! After the tastings, we had some lunch (yes, they have a restaurant next door) and they gave us four truffles on the house as an anniversary present! I am definitely coming back to see what new tastings they have and will enjoy every second of it! Out of all the wineries I have been to, this is my #1!

Ashleigh Hand

Wonderful staff and wonderful wine! Being someone who loves red in the winter and white in the summer, I found I enjoyed both during the spring. Tom is the best! However, everyone I have come in contact with has been amazing. Great, comfortable place to enjoy your weekend!

Jack Gwilliam

Tom Watson is amazing. Very informative and a great host. Will definitely be back again.

Among Loudoun wineries 868 is a must visit. While on the far side of the county it is worth the drive for great wines and a beautiful farm to spend the afternoon. I went in for a tasting on a Saturday afternoon and was given the choice of a standard (wine only) tasting, a truffle tasting, which included four house made chocolates freshly made by the on-site full service restaurant, or an elevated tasting comprised of four food bites and two truffles. I had the elevated tasting, which included cheese and roasted vegetables, a mini grilled cheese and 868's amazing truffles. As far as wines, I had a Riesling--which I was pleasantly surprised by it being drier than most with a bit of effervescence, a Roussanne and a Viognier (my favorite) plus a Meritage and Monarch--both of Bordeaux style blends. What really made 868 stand out for me was the pourer, Tom, who was incredibly knowledgeable about their wines and wine in general and simply very attentive.

Stevhe Best

Wine is always amazing and so is the elevated tastings. They change constantly so you never get bored. Tom was handling our tastings today and was very knowledgeable and wonderful. There is a reason why we are members here!

Mary Grothaus

Love this place! Beautiful inside and out and right off of Harper's Ferry Road! We are wine club members and pick up 3 bottles every quarter - comes with a free tasting with each pick up. You can order pizza to go with your wine, and in summer they have a grill going outside. The adjacent Grandale Farm Restaurant is also fabulous - dressier than 868 and a sit-down meal (though still affordable, especially lunch) - and great to sit at the outside tables when the weather is nice. Perfect for an ex-Portland vegetarian foodie!

Paige Porter

We had a fabulous tasting. Serious business big red wines. Tom was a great sommelier, gave us frank and helpful suggestions. A very enjoyable evening!

Angelia Bono

What a wonderful time we had! The wines were excellent, especially paired with truffles! Teresa made us feel welcome. She's great. Definitely a place to sit back and relax.

Heather Epperson

Poor service, mediocre wine, horrible food.

Michael Lesnick

Great wines! Fun place to relax and drink some wine
