This is the smallest, most pathetic Target I’ve ever seen. It’s actually laughable. Thank you, Vermont taxes, for making literally nobody- not even Target- want to be here. Even chain department stores have to downsize immensely to afford to be here! Also, in December i received a letter board for a gift through the website for Christmas. The letterboard came broken. Like one whole side panel was snapped off, and the shipping box was pristine, so this was a warehouse issue. When I went to take it back to the store that week, they were only able to offer me credit, because not surprisingly, they didn’t have one in their tiny store. BUT, since it was a gift, she said that for some reason she could only offer me $12 instead of the $20 it cost, even though the TARGET WEBSITE said $20. Not sure if it was employee incompetence or if literally everything just sucks more in Vermont and Target totally changed their policies for this specific store to match the murky garbage state it is in and somehow recoup monetary losses they’re taking at the hands of our nonsensical state laws. I’ve never had money literally taken away from me for no reason by any Target in any other state. I guess this is the socialist version of Target?

Being from NY, Target is my go to. I went around February of last year here and it was absolutely gorgeous, very well stocked, and only a little smaller than other Target stores. The online pickup order was an easy and efficient process at the customer service desk. One of the items that they claimed was unavailable for online pickup due to being out of stock was literally available in the aisle at the store so that was the only hiccup (this has also happened to me at other locations in NY, no biggy). Lemme tell you guys something, 1) Target has fantastic prices on groceries. Their romaine heart lettuce is $2.89 here whereas Hannaford usually has it for $3.99. Same with their meat and other groceries. Their store brands are also fantastic quality and pricing (Archer Farms, Simply Balanced, and Market Pantry). 2) THEY ABSOLUTELY DO PRICE MATCH TO THE CARTWHEEL APP. I don't know if the reviewer who claimed this had a bad experience with a undertrained employee but ask for the manager, and they'll make things right. Target price matches with competitors too in other departments FYI. 3) If something is out of stock, you can always order it and have it shipped to store for free. If you complain at customer service desk, you'll get it shipped to your house for free. (red card members get free two day shipping all the time) 4) To the reviewer who was astonished at the aisle for only paper towels/toilet paper. I'm sorry but does Walmart not have the exact same setup? Do you not enjoy variety? Their Up & Up brand makes some of the most inexpensive strong TP and paper towels I've ever used. The target brand products are almost always on sale in the cartwheel app. Y'all don't deserve Target and all its magesty.

Not the best Target I have been in, the shelves are empty and the clothes are a mess and not a lot of help available on the sales floor. But the British guy that works on the front desk was a dream. He was polite and genuine and helped me order some clothes they didn't have in store. If you could duplicate him, Target would benefit. Plus the painting at the front of the store is worth going to see... but shop elsewhere.

Kids clothing and shoes selections are practically nonexistent. You're in luck if you're in need of maternity clothes, tube tops, or canned goods. Saddest Target ever.

My experience here might be negatively influenced by the fact that this was the opening weekend, so keep that in mind. That being said, I was very underwhelmed with everything. The store is very small, the isles are far too narrow, and the selection isn't great. I'll probably just end up travelling to Plattsburgh.

This is a mini-target and they don't do a great job keeping it stocked. I am currently annoyed with corporate Target too and how they run bait and switch schemes with their cartwheel app. You think you can use an app coupon to get a good price but then the store price is higher so no benefit. Oh, price match their own online price and then apply coupon? Nope, they won't do it. The problem is that you don't know the in-store price will be higher when you're still at home so you make a trip for no reason.

It has been a few month now since target opened and I am still disappointed. Everything is always out of stock, unless you are an XXL. The selection of kids clothes is basically non existent, especially for little kids. There home section and seasonal section is so tiny there is barely a selection. I love target in EVERY OTHER state and can spend hours there, I don’t even want to go to this one. I hope that they listen to how disappointed Vermonters are and revamp the store.

Small, poor clothing selection, way too many groceries and food products, and an overall "meh" store. Seriously, there's a Hannaford, Trader Joe's, and Healthy Living right next door; why would I buy food at Target? Waited in line behind one person at the Starbucks for 10 minutes, before calling it quits and making coffee at home. Hoping it will get better, but so far not impressed.

disappointing. They should've waited for Sears to go out of business and made a real size Target in the bigger spot. Small selection of some items and unnecessary "fresh" food that could be bought at 3 grocery stores next door.

This target has nothing I need, I've lived in 5 other states near targets, and this one doesn't carry items I used to get weekly elsewhere. The pet section is one aisle, and they don't let me ship in many items from online that I'd like.

Good to have something else here in Burlington, Target is cool, this target is pretty basic size, with groceries, beer, wine, home goods, a Starbucks, I write this at the time of opening the mens section is pretty bare but they said they will get more items as time goes on. They have good Sony headphones!

Just left and my brother was followed throughout the store by a woman, a team member. Very uncomfortable and he was only shopping for his daughter. Needless to say we won’t be returning here.

I'm from out of state but I really don't see what the locals are complaining about. This target is the same size as the ones that we have back home, the home section is actually nicer then ours! I loved it. It was very clean and well stocked when we went. Maybe people should try going more at night, that's normally when Target restocks. The layout is the same just as it is when I'm at home. They had exactly what we needed. Vermont doesn't deserve Target.

A nice clean new store and I’ve always loved Target but this place is pathetic. I’ve reluctantly returned a few times and every time I go nothing works out. Always a disaster in some way or another. There is no reason to go here, this store won’t make it long.

Maybe not the biggest or best Target, but it sure is here! After so many years without one in Vermont I’m happy to have this Target. It’s like Target-Lite. All the Target smell, not quite as much of the usefulness... but at least I don’t have to go to Walmart. (Plus smaller Target=smaller receipt at the register. I can get out of this one for less than $50, which never happens at the bigger stores.) All the one star reviews are ridiculous. There’s nothing wrong with this store; it’s just not gigantic, and we knew it wouldn’t be. Quit complaining and be glad you don’t have to take a ferry to Plattsburgh anymore.

We waited a long time for Target to come to Vermont, but so far I'm disappointed. There seems to be a little bit of everything, but not a lot of anything. And I do not understand at all why you would take up so much space of this small store with food!! There is a Hannaford, Trader Joe's and Healthy Living surrounding Target.

Worst target ever. There is a staples around the corner, cvs down the street, hannafords in the same shopping center, Trader Joe’s and healthy living across the street, Starbucks in Barnes and Noble across the street... . WHY WASTE a target with books, food, alcohol, toiletries and shampoo and another Starbucks??? There is an entire aisle of paper towels. So disappointing. Target has amazing name brand products and amazing exclusive lines that were non existent here. I can go to bed bath and beyond for a cuisine art food processor. The best part about target is the unique home goods from sheets to blankets to towels to mirrors to pictures. None of that here. Why carry Shea Moisture if you aren’t going to have the whole line? Cvs has a better selection of shea moisture. This is NOT a target. Period.

We received duplicate items from our baby registry I returned one of the items with no receipt and received a merchandise card that was only to be used in store. This was frustrating as the registry showed multiple purchases of 1 item. I left the store and then called a couple weeks later to see if I could order a different item from the store in person using the merchandise card as it was a hefty amount Any item I wanted was only sold online. I spoke with 2 different people and they both told me that I was able to do this. I drove over an hour to the only target in Vermont to purchase this item when I arrived in store I waited for 25 minutes as they only had 1 handheld operating system that they had to use to order his item, after waiting they then told me I was unable to purchase the item and I would be to wait until it came into store. Even though I had called to confirm that I could order this item in store as the item is only sold online, as i did not want to waste a trip. My experience today was extremely frustrating and disappointing. The lady who helped me today of course apologized but I feel the staff members at this location, especially in the customer service department, were uneducated and not helpful. Since this target is located in the mall, regardless of a being the only target in the entire state, they do not have nearly as many items as other standalone targets. I was unable to find any other items in the entire store that were on my registry. I'm very excited we finally have a target, but extremely disappointed in the items in stock and uneducated staff.
