It was a pleasant outting with my friends. The fact that you could have as much soup as you want for $6 on Thursdays currently and that they allowed me four free samples of their Mead for my first visit also was a plus. I would recommend trying it out.

If you've only had honey wine mead and don't know what craft mead is, then you don't know what you're missing. These guys make some quality meads that drink more like the smoothest beer you've ever had (and not too sweet). They're some of the friendliest and most interesting people in the VT alcohol industry!

Ricky, Kelly, and the rest of the staff are world class hosts with a world class meadery, who genuinely love talking to people and sharing their vast expertise. The mead is varied and delightful, and two are even served on nitro. Root beer served to kids as well. Their tasting room (mead hall!) is now a restaurant with amazing Scandinavian food - we had a big shareable plate with cheese, saurkraut, 3 types of pickled herring (Ricky made these too!) and mead brats. Newly released mead Old Wayfarer is gonna be a huge hit.

My husband and I stumbled across this place during our visit to Vermont. So glad we did! The owners, Ricky and Kelly, were so welcoming and informative. They gave us a wonderful tour of their facility with a detailed description of the mead making process (who knew, only 3 ingredients!) and topped it all off with samples of their product at various stages of fermentation. They were just about to begin bottling their first batches which I'm sure will sell quickly! Highly recommend stopping by and checking out this artisanal meadery!

Great "beer," and some Viking style food in wood bowls. How cool is that! Mead "beer" brewed with honey. Has distinctive flavors and starts and finishes. Very affordable and very unique. Anyone who says they like to drink beer like wine drinkers who pick and choose based on flavor and color and aroma needs to go here. PS - the bottomless bowl of stew and squash soup were fantastic. And the brat bowl was fantastic. And did I mention the Mead "beer" was fantastic? Go Viking. Go Mead! Highly recommend.

What's great about Groennfell is the people. It's a tight knit crew and people are genuine. They made us feel very welcome. The staff and other guests were very approachable. What a great idea where they give you four free mead tastings as soon as you walk in. Expect a good conversation in a very open warehouse atmosphere. I like that aspect though. It's like you are sitting in the middle of a cube and they make and distribute mead all around you. It's legit. Definitely going back for storytelling, or Kolbitar, on first Thursday.
