I think this place was incredible. The historic value of this place is a must see place for anyone. The narrator was comical, but very informative. It was long enough to give us all wine tasting at the end! They also sold food, and bourbon. It really made you feel like what it was like back when it was In full operation. The prices were really fair. Nothing too crazy. Disclsimer! No phone or video recording! The weather is very tropical but they had AC! Please go check this out.

Incredible grounds and a fascinating tour. We went on the Jubilee tour which highlighted the story of the enslaved people of Belle Meade. Jeff was our guide and he was great and super knowledgable. The grounds are gorgeous and it was a lot of fun to explore. The wine tasting and sales were a really neat addition to it all as well!

Sarah Rogers

What an interesting place full of American history. The family house was beautiful and we took the tour. Guide was fantastic, funny and knowledgeable - found out we were his 19th tour and he'd been there only a month. I enjoyed the property and that they delve in to the slave history as well, I'll be back for that tour. We ended the visit with a wine tasting - not my favorite wines, being from Oregon, but fun to try.

Mark J

Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer numerous questions from our group.

Rebecca Larkman

Another wonderfully preserved step back in time. The guided tour was informative and entertaining and your guides are dressed for the period. The facility and grounds were well kept.

Karen Marshall

Didn't get to tour this visit. Plan ahead if you have a group of 6. When we visited 7 + years ago, I would give it 5 stars.

fred bretz

Great historical learning! Horse racing world would not be the same without this place. Whiskey is amazing.

Debbie Simler-Goff

We did the Jubilee Tour about the African American Experience. The information was presented lecture style... For 45 minutes of what was to be an hour tour that turned into an hour and 25 minute tour we felt like we were preached at by the presenter. She was clearly knowledgeable and yes the information was indeed helpful and interesting. But she was so ANGRY and BIASED in her presentation that it really took away from what could have been a wonderful educational experience that would help others to be more empathetic and supportive. She literally talked for 45 minutes straight and did not pause or invite questions or engagement. At one point a couple of us tried to ask questions but were given one word answers and the presenter went back to her “sermon”. I am truly truly saddened because it was the one and only tour we selected to do this trip and we had high expectations based others reviews.

James Hopkins

This plantation has a great history. We should visit just to see how our ancestors lived.

Derrick Gardner

Great tours. Well kept facilities. Had a great time!

Jim Gardner

Nice tour , but, listed pricing for tickets was deceptively shown on line. When questioned, about the descrepency, we got a poor answer. House tour was very worthwhile. Docent was very dedicated and complete.

Gina Holly

I did the jubilee tour. The guide was excellent , grounds were beautiful . Try the fudge .

Crystal Ross

Took my friend here from out of town and we did the mansion tour. It was 24 dollars but that gave a restaurant, icecream shop with fudge, places to eat outside and the grounds are filled with gorgeous trees and flowers.

Rich H

We had a fantastic private wine tasting. Definitely the way to go. Mike told us the history of the grounds and was an exceptional Host. Ladies, if you’re going down to Nashville for a batchlorette party, definitely book a private tasting with Mike. Most fun I’ve had at a winery, educational, and comfortable. The blackberry wine is exceptional. #tastebudlove

Phillip Gill

This was a really interesting place and somewhere that may be easily overlooked when visiting the Nashville area. The land itself is very nice and the history of the plantation and its connection with horse racing is very cool. They have the ability to taste their wine and bourbon or you can enjoy some ice cream and play games such as bocce, horseshoes or cornhole. This is definitely a great place to spend a few hours and learn some history.

Kristen Fourman

If you ever visit Belle Meade Plantation, splurge for the food and wine pairing. Our hostess, Deborah, was so knowledgeable and fun! We had a great time and left with a new appreciation for wine! The grounds of Belle Meade are lovely and we enjoyed the homemade fudge shoppe!

Alyssa Witte

Awesome time! Probably my favorite thing I did my weekend in Nashville. Got there and had to wait about 45 minutes for the next tour, which was great because it allowed for time to wander the grounds. Tour guide Sarah was awesome and very informative about the home. Tour ended with a free wine tasting of 4 wines and they were all very good. You are able to take a glass of wine with you and continue wandering around the grounds. Highly recommend this trip for adults!

Gina Rafla

We went to Belle Meade Plantation. At the end of the tour, we went into the shop where they had wine tasting. First of all, the staff was great and very polite. They gave us the wine samples and gave again if anyone wanted. We talked to Todd, who was very nice and explained everything to us. We ordered and received the shipment within 2 days. The boxes came very well packaged, something I don’t see when I order from Napa. The shipment came in a timely manner where it takes over 2 weeks to receive from Napa. I highly recommend their wine. Thanks Todd and the Belle Meade staff.

Phillip Stone

Very intriguing history of a family's wealth started from a Blacksmith shop. Then Horse racing and 5,400 acres maintained by 206 slaves. Sad part is the slaves are buried in Unmarked graves, known only to God.

Dori MYERS

Beautiful, loved every second of my visit. Staff was great very knowledgeable and super friendly.

Lisa Toland

I love history and being able to see incredible houses and plantations. My family made the trip to go down and booked the tour beforehand. They stated online to arrive at least 30 minutes early so you can check in. We arrived and walked though the gift shop. We paid for one tour which included four rooms and a “free” wine tasting. We did not get to go to the stables and barn, or the other side of the house. In order to see the entire house you have to purchase two different tours and each are about an hour long. The house is beautiful and the family history is kinda of interesting. Nothing really special about the place. It did not feel like a completed tour for the money you pay for. My family went to the restaurant afterwards and that alone made the trip better. Over priced for what you get out of it. I would not come back and disappointed after we left. The food made us happy and that’s the only reason why they are getting 2 stars instead of 1.

David Lessentine

Really cool experience, did the walking tour on our own. Without a guide & glad we did. I didn't feel like paying so much more for a guide just to walk into the main house.

Matt DeBenedetto

The grounds here were really nice. The tour of the mansion was alright, but I’m not entirely sure it’s worth the money. I did like exploring, though, and had a fun time playing croquet / horseshoes / and bocci at the provided area. It was nothing too special, but I have no regrets about going.

vivian hutchinson

The property was expansive lots to see, history on the Harding's home and horses. The employees were nice, wine tasting was good, they have homemade fudge and nice gift shops

Genevieve Healy

My son & new daughter had a lovely garden wedding ceremony followed by a reception in the stable area...transformed into a beautiful setting reserved for fairytales. All staff including the gift shop were gracious & professional

Bell Med Plantation is a beautiful place for a nice and beautiful marriage hall and I would recommend to anyone who wants to get married in this place Belle Meade Plantation

Deborah Bukowski

We took the tour for Belle Meade. Our tour guide was Jeff. He was very knowledgeable of the history behind belle meade, not to mention he put his own sense of humor in the tour. At the end of the tour we were able to visit the winery for a wine tasting, everything was great. Lots of good pics and exploring the grounds.

Jay Ritter

Great and informative tour. Fantastically kept grounds. Staff wear very helpful and friendly. Well worth the time and money

Scott Cooper

Nice informing tour guide. Entire location is well preserved. Wine tasting was a nice finish and had nice flavoring.

Lauren Jones

Absolutely stunning. Would highly recommend people visit when they are in Nashville

Humphrey Christopher

We had out of town guests that we brought here. The tour guide was fun and knowledgeable about the mansion. We walked the beautiful grounds after the wine tasting. It was a wonderful day.

Aaron Farmer

We enjoyed our visit from beginning to end. Our mansion tour was thorough, interesting and educational. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable of the history and a fun sense of humor. We also visited the coop & scoop and the ladies in there were delightful, and yes the ice cream and fudge were fantastic. We went home with lots of fudge to go with our wine of course. Again the folks in the winery were knowledgeable and very friendly. And finally our segue tour was so much fun! We had a great tour guide who was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun. The grounds are beautiful and the people kind. It was an afternoon well spent.

Laura Belrose

Beautiful grounds. We attended a wine and food pairing which was well curated and informative! We had a wonderful time and found some interesting things in the gift shop!

Connor Peery

Loved this place and definitely will be coming back. The tour was amazing and so was our tour guide. The reserve Bourbon and the wine was amazing as well definitely the highlight of our nashville trip.

Dick Burgman

Amazing. Was more to see and learn about than expected. Gift shop had an incredible selection. Grounds were kept up and plenty of information for a self guided tour

Donna C

If your history buff you'll love the journey exhibit well exceeded my expectations.

Donna Gibson

Great adventure.. employees very nice and our guide Beth was very informative and always smiling our wine tasting was fun. And the ice cream was delicious

Henrry Jons

The tour was really great. It was educational, but not boring at all. The site itself is really nice. We came during the spring and then again in the winter time. When it snows, it's just a magical place to be. However, we enjoyed it more during the warmer season, because we got to see horses.

D Mouhot

Amazing tour guide full of every bit of information!! The inside is kept as it was to every detail. Very fascinating history. The house was truly unique. The wine tasting at the end is phenomenal! Everyone was truly so sweet!

Ron Pierpoint

I don't know what is going on with this place. Thru the years I have travelled to Nashville and as soon as I get to the Nashville city limits I get lost, every time. Then I drive around for a while and without fail end up in front of Belle Meade. Must be some kind of psychic karmic weirdness from a past life. Each time I turn around in their parking lot or sit and stare at the house for a while and ponder the past. I've been up to the house to check prices and get a couple of the pamphlets. I have never taken the tour in person but I have taken it a dozen times in my imagination...

Nadia EM

Our tour guide was really nice and knowledgeable. A bit disappointed by the visit itself being quite limited. Wine tasting was not what I expected, it took 10 min, limited info about the wines and really small amount poured

Melissa Barron

Belle Meade is a beautiful place that features natural scenery, history and delicious wine (can you ask for more?!) The plantation tour was excellent and ended on a sweet note with a complimentary wine tasting. The tour guide is very knowledgeable and shared some interesting facts about the importance of the horse breeding business that was booming on the plantation. It's a shame the family wasn't able to continue their business, but it is wonderful that the community fought to maintain the estate and continue some of the traditions that were started there so long ago!

Kate W.

I took a group from our corporate meeting that we had in Nashville this year. There were about 30 of us and it was a great experience. We were broken up into two groups which worked out perfectly. There was so much to see and the tour guides were very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this tour.

Amber Smartt

Beautiful place. Been visiting for the past 20 years anytime I'm in the Nashville area. Piece of living history. Was great to share with my husband and 3 children this past summer. Looking forward to going during Christmas. The whole place is decorated like you were alive during that time.

Lynn Peterson

Our group had the best time. The wine and food pairing was the best. I would recommend it to anyone who really wants to learn about wine and food pairing. Very informative. Also, the tour of the house and grounds was also wonderful.

Steve O'Connor

This is a fantastic place to spend a morning or afternoon. I walked the grounds with a pamphlet - the only thing I missed was the big house, as you have to pay for the tour to enter. Still found it to be spectacular. The museum/exhibit(s) they have created from the former slave quarters was both jarring and exceptional. An important part of the plantation lifestyle, I am grateful it wasn’t overlooked.

Edith Breuer

Beautiful place. Went to a outside wedding . Wedding was beautiful. But it was so hot at that time.

Celeste Jalbert

Do not visit unless you do the Journey to Jubilee tour! Important history that many are not aware of. Set aside any discomfort you may feel about addressing this part of American history and you will learn so much. Our tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Highest recommendation.

Chris Sporck

If you've ever wanted to see what a typical southern plantation looked like, this is a great way to do it. The low is the fact that the family used slave labor. The high is the history of the famous race horses bred on this property. Pretty much every triple crown winner can trace their lineage to this plantation

Sheena Casey

We were really looking forward to touring this site. Unfortunately the tour we took left a bad feeling. We like to get a glimpse of the history of these areas and are well aware of the history both bad and good. We selected the Journey to Jubilee tour. The tour guide lectured us for 45 minutes on what it was like to be a slave, seemed to think none us were educated on the timeframe and needed to be immersed in it before we had a very short tour of the areas of the mansion that slaves would access. This actually turned into a rant. The tour guide had a lot of passion for her subject however spoke very quickly and loudly so it sometimes hard to understand her. To see the rest of the mansion would have required us to pay for another tour, not sure why they don't do a combination.

Kaitlyn Moser

We took the mansion tour which included a tour of the mansion as well as wine tasting at the end. We had an hour wait, but there are so many interesting things to explore while waiting. The mansion itself, was beautiful. The tour guide on the second floor was so funny. I highly recommend. If you have someone in your party that uses a wheelchair, be sure to specify that when you are buying the tickets so they can help them better. People in wheelchairs can't visit the second floor of the mansion.

Sarah S

We enjoyed the Food and Wine Tour at Belle Meade, as well as a stroll on the property. A very enjoyable afternoon. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is visiting Nashville or the surrounding area.

Katherine Youlio

Wine is great. The entire plantation is beautiful. I took my wine and walked around and read about the history. I did not do a tour, but wish I had. Will have to go back to take do the tours!

Ron Sackuvich

Very informative. Great history...I would lime to read more about it

Dustin Aplin

What a wonderful place with a bourbon tasting tour! Autumn was a great host and makes the best Old Fashions and taught us how to concoct nice Mint Julip! Great hidden gem in Nashville! The grounds were well kept and the information was plentiful!

Allison Shelby

Beautiful place and very interesting. Would recommend this place!!!

Kamryn McKeithen

Our tour guide was amazing and the wine was good too!

Heather Peterson

We did the mansion tour with Jeff. He was SO funny and very informative. The information was very interesting and well put together! Must do!

Robert Doblar

What a really cool.place for horse breeding history. Our tour guide Sarah was perfect and super knowledgeable about the estate. We enjoyed the mansion and the grounds along with some ice cream and bocce ball.

Kiefer Thomas

I was hesitant about coming here because of the $24 tour price. But I was in town for only one more day, so I figured, it's now or never. WOW!!!!! I'm so glad I did. Hands down, one of the best tours I've ever had. The mansion tour was super informative, entertaining, fascinating and you could get up & close with a lot of the items in the house. The tour guide was very receptive to questions. I appreciated that. The mansion was absolutely beautiful. I didn't even mind not being able to go into all the rooms which, you won't. But as old as the place is and the number of people going through, I understand. The grounds are imaculate!! They are so beautiful and relaxing. I could have spent all day there. The magnolia trees are amazing. There's a winery, an ice cream/sweets shop and a fairly elaborate gift store. Multiple tours one can take. If you're in Nashville briefly, make the Belle Meade a stop. You won't regret it.

Marvin Castor

Loved it guide was excellent great look at the past ,had some very good fudge ice cream ,and wine.

Diane B

Enjoyed about an hour here walking the well-maintained grounds and learning about the history on the plantation. We didn't have time to take a tour to walk through the mansion but will do that next time we are in the area.

Skip Gorz

Fabulous plantation takes you back to a different time! Took the Main House tour...So much history! If you know the name Secretariat...take this tour...Unbelievable! Then walk all the grounds to see where the slaves were housed and where they were required to work, etc.

Heidi Morales

We did the grounds tour and it was very nice.there was a little wine tasting at the end.

Steven Neff

Great rich history. Tour guide was very informative. Did this tour following the Lotz house, Carter house, and Carleton house tours in Franklin to get the full picture of the time and place.

Nelson Maniscalco

Beautiful grounds, excellent wine. Rich history. Would visit again.

Carol Moore

Awesome guide very knowledgeable. Very interresting.

Jennifer B.

I've been visiting the Belle Meade Mansion / Plantation since I was a child. It is one of my absolute favorite places to visit in Nashville during Christmas, when it is extravagantly decorated for the holiday season. Regardless of the time of year you choose to visit, you'll enjoy seeing this page from Southern history. This stunning 30-acre plantation is well-preserved and provides an authentic look at the interior decor and architecture of the late 1800s. Make sure you visit the Plantation's excellent restaurant which features delicious Southern gourmet selections without being too fussy or stuffy.

Ben Comer

Lovely facility, friendly staff & an awesome gift shop.

Ashley parke

Gorgeous piece of well preserved history. The wine was delicious!

melissa thaler

The tour was interesting and thorough, and Cierra, our tour guide, was hilarious and informative. We wanted to do both the mansion tour and the Jubilee journey, so we wished they could combine the tours or give a discount if doing both, especially since you can't see the whole house on just one tour. But stopping is highly recommended if you are interested in horse breeding, horse racing, or just old houses.

Ben Igoe

Well preserved piece of history. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Daniel was a good tour guide.

Rochelle Williams

Historical site with guided and unguided tours. Step back into days of yesteryear's and learn about life on this former slave plantation that raised and bred race horses instead of crops. Visit the restored big house and slave quarters as you learn about its past owners and enslaved occupants.

V

We liked the free wine tasting. It was interesting history. We only paid for the grounds ticket so we didnt get to see the inside of the house.

Brian Johnson

This place was awesome. Sarah was very knowledgeable and a great mansion tour guide. I strongly recommend attending the wine and food pairing.

Tina Steffer

Did Mansion Tour which was similar to all other period mansions. Facts about family and thoroughbred lineage very interesting. Grounds and outbuildings very interesting but the high point of the day was the the Tour that told the history of Belle Meade from many perspectives but primarily from the viewpoint of the slave. Should not be missed. Educational and highly thought provoking.

Terri Seydel

This was the best history tour that I’ve been on. Our guide Jeff was very knowledgeable and and entertaining. I highly recommend the tour. Beautiful place!

Holly Gaffney

Our tour guide Mary Jane, was incredibly well versed in the history of the home, the family, and the period in general. Wander around the property also, very beautiful!

Adam Cook

The Belmeade Plantation was the perfect last stop on our weekend getaway to Nashville. The tour of the plantation ground and mansion with the complimentary wine tasting was an enjoyable blend of history and relaxation for a lazy Sunday afternoon. I would highly recommend this stop for history buffs and travelers who need a break from the hustle and bustle of downtown Nashville. This scenic change of pace offers everything you need for an eventful afternoon. The museum cafe cuisine is also definitely worth indulging in. I recommend the homemade biscuits.

Tabitha Hartzell-Willey

Beautiful and interesting. Loved almost everything about it. My major complaint is you pay good money to tour and they have the tours so large that you cant actually see the stuff in the rooms and then they rush you into the next room not giving you long enough to even see what you paid to see.... just basically listening to the tour guide tell a story.

Angelina Carter

This was a wonderful place to to visit and spend the day. The tour of the house, while guided, was very well done, leisurely paced and probably the best guided tour I have ever been on. I felt completely relaxed and enjoyed the tour and my visit. I learned a lot of history that was never taught in history books and the wine at the Belle Meade is definitely on my favorites list!

Candid President

I truly enjoyed both tours. They both acknowledged the contribution of the slaves to the success of the plantation as well as point out some of the atrocities of slave life and "freedom". The tour guide for the slave tour was AWESOME!!! She educated MANY people on the tour about the life of slaves and how much the plantations, not just Belle Meade, depended on the slaves in order to be as successful as they were. She did it with such class☺. I definitely recommend the slave tour. If you are one of the many who does not understand the life of a slave, Belle Meade "Jubilee Tour" will give you a little insight.☺

Emily McLaughlin

It was a little unfortunate that pictures can't be taken inside. However, it was a beautiful tour and the guides were able to answer any questions you had. The wine tasting afterwards was amazing. I limited myself to only one wine to take home and chose the blackberry. Definitely worth the trip!

Romero Mariano

We had out of town guests that we brought here. The tour guide was fun and knowledgeable about the mansion. We walked the beautiful grounds after the wine tasting. It was a wonderful day.

Leslie Anchors

Great historical property and beautiful. Well cared for and worth the visit!

Courtney Savino

My husband and I had a great day at the Belle Meade Plantation. We did the mansion tour and went to the winery. We learned a lot! The only bummer was that you could not take pictures inside the mansion. We had a beautiful day and enjoyed walking around the plantation on our own. There were a few bachelorette parties there and they were setting up for a wedding at night. I would definitely recommend going!

Brian Bunker

Well worth the stop if you're into horses and learning about the history of this plantation and boy does it have a history. From the horses that came out of this place to the tragic end of the family that owned it. The grounds are very well kept and there's even wine and bourbon tasting to a little ice cream shop.

Floyd Sawatzky

Tons of things to see. Mansion tour was very interesting. Learned a lot. Great history yet sad history.

Robin Miller

We did the Everyday Life tour with Rachel as our guide. She was fantastic! Fun, energetic and you can tell she loves her job. The only downside is, I wish I could have seen it all!! Thanks!

James Nelson

The Belle Meade Plantation was a fantastic place to visit and I suggest if you are in the Nashville area you need to stop by. The visit to Bellmead is well worth the trip. They also have a winery with wine tasting and food pairing. The staff is very knowledgeable with the history of the plantation and the surrounding area in Nashville.

Milton Magee

Lizz Comer

We did the Journey to Jubilee tour and it was insightful. Our tour guide was full of information and did a good time presenting some serious matter of what it was like to be a slave on that plantation. I respect plantations that do not gloss over that huge part of their heritage.

Michael Faust

The bourbon experience is well worth it!

David Swanson

Very beautiful place. The wine isnt anything to write home about. But our tour guide was awesome. Very informative about the history of the house. Lots to see.

Errin Daniels

Very clean and well maintained. We only opted to walk around for $15 a person, didn't do any of the tours as we were on a budget and they were a little pricey, but a wine tasting was included in the $15. They have a little pet station if you bring your dog, you just can't bring them inside buildings.

Vasiliy Shkrum

The best tomato soup I have ever had, perfect service!

Erika Giblin

My husband and I did the mansion tour, followed by the jubilee tour. The mansion is beautiful and the fact that the society has vigorously searched for the original pieces from the home is amazing, however the true gem was Ms. Hunts description of life as a slave on the plantation. She brought to life the intricacies of the interpersonal relationships between slave and master, the family dynamics that affected both classes as a result of slavery itself and the lingering impact it still has on our society today. Truly amazing!

Abigail Bryant

Beautiful historic home and winery. Winery is award winning and features traditional Tennessee wines. Tours are full of interesting facts about afterward you have access to the beautiful grounds. Ice cream shop on site was a tasty bonus!

David Pouncey

Very enjoyable. Friendly staff. Glad we made the trip here.

Kate Altmann

The house tour was good but the slave/ grounds tour was the best. Jamie our guide was just amazing at answer questions and giving a real perspective on history.

Sarah Brady

Absolutely fantastic tour on the civil rights tour. The lady that organises and runs the tour is outstanding. She has so much passion and is a true storyteller, and the fact that she has studied the history means she knows all about this area and the Plantation. What more could you want in a guide? Worth every penny to get a real lesson in what it could have been like to be a slave in this Plantation.

Aaron Locke

I loved touring the plantation and being able to see this piece of true American history, from Horse racing and heritage to slavery and beautiful architecture it's a great place to go and learn.

Briana Wojcik

Beautiful property with a small winery and popular restaurant. Was not happy with the lack of tours addressing the slave population there, as well as the generally small area attributed to their memory/legacy. My family and I took the Jubilee tour, where we had a fantasticly knowledgable tourguide. A lot of areas were closed off.

Sarah Dean

This was a great experience. They allowed us to put our luggage behind the counter because it was our very first stop. Lots of history and friendly staff. They were all very welcoming. Don't miss it!

Allen Murphy

This is a beautiful Plantation. The history is interesting and the house, buildings and grounds are beautiful. If you have an interest in plantations and thoroughbred horse racing this is a place to visit.

Denise Stuart

Interesting tours, but they are still growing their historical artifacts and information about slaves that were situated on the plantation. Need to continue their research from both the owner and slave perspectives. Great wine tasting session! Yummy muscadine and blackberry wine.

Magda Gasior

There is plenty to see when visiting Nashville but if you're short on time and can't decide where to go I would definitely recommend this place. The grounds are beautiful and the amount of history packed into that small area is unbelievable. The Mansion tour was very interesting and well worth my time. If you get there and have to wait for the next tour don't get discouraged. I waited 1.5 hr and it felt like 15 minutes. There is so much to see on the grounds, including beautiful horses.

Mike Jarrett

It's elegant and very well preserved. Like a step back in time. The only draw back is if you want to see the mansion in it's entirety, you need to purchase two different tours.

Tami Kelley

Nice attraction, affordable. Didn't book ahead, bought our tickets there, no problem. Historic and nicely preserved. Recommend it!

Kathy Freistuhler

Beautiful place. It was an evening event, needs more lighting in parking lots to venue

Jennifer Caulfield

Lovely place to wander around. Fab ice cream shop. Disappointed with the tour of the house though. Rush you through each room. Only give you a little family tree history. You only get to see part of the house, If you want to know more you have to buy both tours.

Olgibear

Wonderful staff. Awesome segwat tour lead by Mary Jane 2 thumbs up

Susan LeGrand

I called to see what the policy on the wine and food pairing was and if it was acceptable to bring our baby along or if it was strictly 21+ older. The woman on the phone said, “you plan to bring an infant out?” in an extremely judgmental tone. I was completely taken back and hurt by her questioning my parenting. I’m a new mom and am going stir crazy being at home and was hoping to get out with baby and my husband. I’m sorry but it’s not her job to judge when she thinks it’s appropriate for me to bring my child out. Extremely rude and unprofessional.

Suzanne Clark

The details in each room were authentic and tastefully done.

Marianne Ruiz

Corey Foy

It was nice to tour the grounds of the plantation and take our time to see and read about the history, but the truly impressive part was our guide through the mansion. She was knowledgeable and well spoken, and made the tour a truly enjoyable experience.

Courtney Lodge

I'm so glad we were able to fit in a trip to Belle Meade Plantation between all of the country music listening, eating and drinking we had planned for our first trip to Nashville. The tour of the mansion was just the right amount of history and kept us interested by keeping it under the 45 minute mark. The guides were great storytellers and were very knowledgeable about the families that lived on the property. Of course, the complimentary wine tasting sweetened our visit. My husband and I ended up buying a bottle of wine to drink while we strolled the grounds and enjoyed the guitarist playing under the pavilion. Highly recommend if you're looking for a daytime activity away from the craziness of Broadway.

Machiel Siekerman

Great historical site. Guided tour of 45 minutes was nice. Our guide was enthusiastic and well informed. Beautiful house. Nice wine tasting afterwards as well.

niki eisgruber

Beautiful location. They have a winery, restaurant, mansion tours and more! Great for a day trip visiting or for an event. There’s so much history and the spot is quiet and peaceful.

Brittany Buckner

Interesting, pretty property, Ice cream, fudge, yard games. Gave it 4 stars because our tour guide was very passive aggressive and wasn’t wearing the 1800 attire that we saw other tour guides wearing :(

Kate McAnespie

Wouldn't come back here. Very overpriced bourbon tour and dismal wine tasting. Wine tasting host was also pretty unwelcoming. The local distillery tours are much better.

David Fitzgerald

Beautifully restored and preserved piece of history. A great story of triumph and tragedy of the American dream. A must see for your Nashville trip.

Garrett Hall

Up keep is sensational. The people that work there r beyond nice and knowledgeable

Mike Starke

Just took my parents on the tour at Belle Meade, and we had a great time! Beth was our tour guide and she did a fantastic job! It is an awesome site, bustling with activity. It is so interesting to learn about the history of the Plantation, and how their horses are still impacting our culture today!

The Segway tour was the best! It was a fun tour with lots of information about the plantation. I would def recommend doing the tour that way.

Had an amazing time on the Mansion Tour. Wish I knew that the Journey to jubilee included the Master bedroom and nursery and servant entrances because I would have paid the extra money to see that as well.

Love historical places , tour was very interesting! Tour guide very knowledgeable

The tour was very informative, we learned a lot of interesting history about the area. The tour guide was funny and super nice. The property was BEAUTIFUL. The fudge and ice cream shop had delicious fudge at a great price. It was a fun way to spend a few hours. The only thing I was disappointed in was the very very small amount of wine we were given to sample in the wine tasting portion. For the amount we paid for the tour and tasting I just expected a little more.

Awesome place and loved the tours. Rich history and love how they are preserving it.

Carrie Mess

A neat place to visit and the bourbon tasting was fun! We also took a house tour and had a tour guide who left us less than impressed. She was quite rude.

Connie Parks

Really enjoyed it. The docent made it interesting.

Andreas Claesson

Beautiful estate with interesting history. Take some time to take the tour and stroll around on the grounds.

Jessica Cloeter

Being a horse enthusiast, it was amazing to see the place where modern horse racing was born. The tour offers a great blend of family history and the importance of horses for racing history. I highly recommend trying the wine tour at the end. They have several great wines. Plus you can pick up a glass to enjoy while you tour the out buildings.

Daniel Cosier

Amazing place to go visit and learn the history of this stud farm. Amazing staff members willing to help guide the way.

Micki Shaw

This was a great experience. I had never been to a Plantation before it was humongous

Beautiful historic estate with a fascinating history. you walk up the driveway and it feels like a scene out of Gone With the Wind. our tour guide Daniel was very knowledgeable and funny. you learn a lot about the history of the owners and the racing horses. a great little wine tasting to cap it off and you can purchase wine by the glass to drink on the patio or while you tour the grounds. if you want a break from the craziness of Broadway this is it. A very cheap bus ride on the number 5 if you do buses, other wise you can drive or Uber there.

This was a wonderful experience if you have never been I give it two thumbs up! It was a wonderful day with my sons and daughters in law. Very beautiful property . Take the tour and wine tasting is at the end of it. Lots of picture opportunities as well. Many beautiful spots. I learned a lot as well. Slavery was horrible. Thank God it's been over for couple hundred years now. The gift shop here was amazing, lots of beautiful stuff, and believe it or not I was amazed how reasonable the prices were! Most gift shops are over priced! This was not.

Been to this plantation home twice. Not as big as I thought it would be but well worth a tour round. Bought a couple of sweet wines last trip.

Nathaniel Haut

We didnt go inside the plantation house but the grounds were cool and very interesting. Had some great photo areas in the gardens and the exhibits were interesting and self paced which was nice. There is a wine tasting area in the middle of the grounds too and you are welcome to get a bottle and take it out to the rest of the plantation

Julie ODonnell

Absolutely lovely grounds. Buffet was a bit slow; two tables would have sped things. Drinks and food were good..chicken & waffles appetizers..kiwi margaritas Very good.

Jean Michael

Loved the mansion tour, wine tasting and wandering the grounds and the wine garden.

Debra Williams

This was a nice find & highly recommended. If you like history make it a point to see this place. We did the private bourbon experience which was very good & educational as well.

Anthony Sapichino

Did the wine tasting while I was there. Was a great time. Wine was not to my personal taste, but it was good. Everything there was delicious. The guide was very informative and intelligent. Ate fudge and ice cream while there and it was all amazing. Would definitely recommend this as a good stop if you are in the area.

Wonderfun tour if your are in the Nashville TN area. Great storytelling from our your guide and a beautiful historic home with wonderful period furnishes. Grounds are a delight to tour on your own and they have a great winery on the property! If you have kids with you they also had a quaint ice cream shop! Fun for the whole family at a reasonable price.

The Journey to Jubilee was a great tour choice! Our guide made all of the difference ... her historical knowledge and energetic passion allowed us to visualize and empathize with the plantation workers. Perfect option if you’re looking for an alternate perspective.

Great afternoon spent exploring Belle Meade. Lots to learn and explore. Great staff with a lot of historical knowledge to explain. Fun to see how the other half lived in the 1880s and the impact that indentured servants (slaves) had on the success of the families who lived there. A must for any horse racing fan.

Tim Verstrate

Strongly recommend touring this place if you love old houses. The chandeliers are unbelievable and the carriage house is amazing.

Janelle Stallkamp

This was a great place to visit, beautiful home, other structures to walk and see. Wine tasting was good as well as the fudge and ice cream. We love these kind of places.
