My first trip here was about two years ago & I fell in love with the wine, people & place. I live in a very wine "dense" area on the east coast and it doesn't even COMPARE to the experience you can get here. The wine selection is phenomenal. Everything has a smooth taste and the quality shines through with every sip. There's something for everyone. The staff is just as sweet as some of the wine! They make it fun and easy to ask questions. Truly, down to earth GOOD people that know their products and are accommodating to the consumer. They are patient and active in trying to achieve positive experiences for their customers. How they could receive anything short of 5 stars is beyond my comprehension. The menu is simple, but perfect. I can't wait to dive into the beer selection! By far, my most favorite place in South Dakota.

I could go on forever but I will stick to the facts as I see them. The decor was disgusting and in very bad taste. We ordered a pizza. It took FOREVER to get it. It was probably made from scratch, which might excuse the time it took, but doesn’t excuse how bad it tasted. No, I would not recommend this place.

Not a real winery; should be labeled as a tasting room. They get their wines ready to drink from Oregon or something and have chain locations across different states. The staff was friendly and the wines themselves were decent but they don't offer free tastings like Prairie Berry does. Finally (granted this is more of a personal preference thing) the whole atmosphere is kind of raunchy and made us feel uncomfortable and awkward amidst strangers. They definitely played out the "naked" theme more than I expected.

The wines we tried were pretty good. Large selection of dry and sweet. We had a good time. The reserve wines are awesome, but pricey. My favorite was $70 a bottle. I had to pass :-(

This is a great little winery. Staff was very friendly, and let you taste all wines. They serve "fish and chips" with the tasting, which are goldfish crackers and chocolate chips (both dark and white!). The wines are "naked" meaning they are not mixed or "covered" with other flavors or fruit. They make wines from sweet to dry, and all are very good. Prices are reasonable.

IMPORTANT! After free tastings at two other Hill City-area wineries - and buying about five bottles - we decided to try the Naked Winery for the first time. We were eventually asked if we'd like to participate in a tasting, but the staff member had something interesting to say: "The tasting is 'complimentary' as long as you promise to buy a bottle of wine. Otherwise it's $5 a person." Perhaps the meaning of the term "complimentary" needs to be explained. You don't guarantee you'll buy something, taste untasted, so we declined. This being the case, I cannot comment on the quality of their product. What I CAN say is that they must have allowed a group of middle schoolers to name the varieties, because they are some of the more explicit, disgusting names you'll find on a wine label. Maybe it will play well with the dumb and more white-trashy element of society, but I doubt any grown-up will set foot in this place, forwarned.

Stopped here and did a wine tasting, 6 tastes for $6. We were happy with every wine we tasted and ended up taking home a bottle or two for ourselves. Great place with great prices.

Not South Dakota native varietals. Wide variety of wine and wide variety of price points. The tastings are very affordable and informative. The staff was funny, friendly and knowledgeable. We didn’t eat, but there is a good selection of food available as well.

Great staff. We arrived at 7 when they were closing and they let us do a tasting. Treated us very well. We had a child with and they gave him a sampling of ice cream first so we could enjoy the tasting without much distraction. FN Bob was friendly and a wonderful host. Knowledgeable of the wines and was helpful with wine selections. I would definitely recommend stopping here.
