On a quiet Wednesday afternoon, my husband and I, along with our daughter and her friend, enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at Calico Skies. We tasted wines, enjoyed conversation with Will and generally had a wonderful afternoon. These wines, in my opinion, are by far the best in the area.

My husband and I chose Calico Skies Vineyard and Winery initially for the unbeatable scenery and the excellent wine, plus wide variety of beer for other guests. Kelsey went above and beyond to help us organize every detail and ensure we had everything we needed for the day (constantly talking to us on the phone or e-mail, then meeting us on her day off because we were tight on time!), plus worked really well with our caterers, florist, DJ, Musician, and photographer. All of our guests were blown away by the venue and said they'd never seen anything like it! We never heard of any issues or problems the entire night as the entire staff at Calico Skies is so professional and made sure everything was perfect. Will was also very helpful and worked with us to make sure we stayed on budget. I absolutely recommend them to anyone!

We were at Calico skies for a good portion of a weekend for a wedding. The grounds were beautiful, and the wine was very good and reasonably priced! Some words of caution though: Be careful walking around the grounds. We had a light coating of some orange substance on our shoes and pants after a walk around the vines.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this winery. It's a gorgeous building with breathtaking views. The patio and pergola in the back allow you to admire the vineyards. From the reds to the whites, and the unique cranberry and raspberry offerings, their wine is delish! They offer a variety of fun events to attend as well. Will and Ashlee have put their love of the land and wine into this place and it shows!

It is the perfect winery. Beautiful large building, with an awesome view. Will is an excellent host. We learned a lot from him and thier wines are some of the best in Iowa. We left with 12 bottles.

Thank you Will for a wonderful Valentine's evening. Amazing food with wonderful wine. The four of us enjoyed our little escape to the peaceful Iowa hills. It is always a pleasure to visit your winery. Great food, fun and good friend, what more could a person want for a night out.

6 adults, 2 children, and 1 infant went here this past Saturday for a drop-by tasting. We were not rushed, we had an absolute blast, and were completely impressed by the laid-back atmosphere and lovely winery owners. Truly a great destination, worth the drive, and was even beautiful in winter! Warm and cozy inside. In addition, the wines here are wonderfully made, are different from each other (not all sweet, not all dry, not all white, not all red) - they truly have a high-quality variety of wines here and they take pride in their work. I will be going back here every time I visit my best friend in Canton, SD. In short, could not have been better. Great work!
