My husband and I recently visited City Scape Winery and we enjoyed the winery, our great conversation with Deb; the wine was amazing and we were very impressed with the friendly yet professional customer service. This is a must visit winery when you visit the Greenville, South Carolina area!

Janet Collins

My husband and I ventured out and ran across City Scape Winery. I’m so glad we did! Great wine and lovely atmosphere. Can’t wait to return!

Sherry Krcatovic

Great combinations that I loved for a relatively"new" winery! Well worth the travel off the beaten path to visit! Fav of the day Green apple Gewirtz! Winemaker Josh was very informative!

Florian Zach

Very nice atmosphere and location. We did a tasting of all wines but only 2 out of 10 were okay. I could hardly drink the rest. Don’t know why you should mix pineapple juice in wine or make it taste like chocolate Sirup or use something that makes taste like a camp fire.

Great wine tasting experience, don't let the location fool you come on in. ALL staff is super friendly you will have a great experience. Prices are great for sampling with cheese and crackers and the roasted pineapple and habanero jam is so delicious. And you must see the animals. All in all for a day trip is wonderful.

If I were only rating the wine, I would give 5 stars. My favorite wines we're the Coffee Delight and the Caramel Delight dessert wines. These are over the top fantastic! The Green Apple wine and the Raspberry wines we're also very good! These will be worth additional trips to buy more. Now, in regards to the overall experience of the Winery, this I give a generous 3 star rating. The winery is located off a country road next to what I'm guessing is their home. There wasn't much area for parking and a good portion of the gravel parking area was a water mud hole. We avoided this and parked on the grass, which was also not as much grass as mud. Bottom line, work is needed on the parking situation and you may need a car wash following the visit. Traveling to different wineries and vineyards in North and South Carolina is our thing, we love it, so that's why we visited City Scapes Winery. The indoor tasting is in a tiny building not much bigger than my living room and dining room. For sure, they have maximized what you can do with such a small space. They asked if we had reservations. We didn't. The couple behind us did, so they sat them then they were still able to seat us. That was a first. I thought it was a bit impressive that they actually need to take reservations for wine tasting. I think there were 6 or 7 tables squeezed in there. We sat at a table with stools. That wouldn't be that bad except it took about 1 and one-half hours to do an 8 wine tasting. Stools are hard on the back after a while. They did have some chairs with backs, but they were taken and we actually didn't realize it would take that long. They were packed so that is probably one reason why it took so long. Regardless, I would ditch the stools and at least buy chairs with a back for all tables. Because it was packed, it was really loud and stuffy inside. Outside, the temperature was in the high 40's. They do have a patio outside with not much of a view. The fire pit was lit, but for all the seating, it doesn't provide much heat. It would be worth the investment to have several patio heaters going. They had one tall patio heater, but it wasn't working. Considering how good their wine is, I can see this place growing and fixing all these issues over time. I would think during warmer weather, the outside tasting experience would be much better than inside. Just be sure to go when it has been dry, otherwise you may get muddy. Oh, and you might want to consider making a reservation.

I loved it! I brought my best friend for her first time experience and she too loved it! It's a great place where people can get a feel for how wine is made and consumed. Also, the service was amazing!

Emily C

Friendly staff! We loved the goats and the pig!

Morgan Sprinkle

This winery is a little off the beaten path but well worth the drive. The staff is super friendly and the wine is amazing. I've honestly never been to a tasting where I liked every wine but honestly every wine was unique and absolutely delicious! I'm definitely coming back for more!

A Hidden Gem out in the country. A great place to visit for sampling wines, cheeses, and other fare. Tastefully done and very inviting. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. If you find yourself in the area be sure to stop by.

I went with my mama and 2 best friends and had an absolute blast. I got a bottle of palmetto gold to bring home and had it with dinner last night. I had forgotten how much I liked it(and I don't even care for white wines typically!) So it was like a surprise present in a bottle. Highly recommended.

I did not expect the caliber of wine we found at City Scape Winery. With my wife's and my own professional careers it has allowed us unique travel experiences. Our travels have cultured us into understanding what makes a good wine. I had the expectations of a nice trip to the country to a novice winery purveying the typical falsely sweet and sulphur rich wines, one of which always being a muscadine; I am from the South and muscadines are best left for black bears. This couple blew the doors off of our expectations! They love wine and have so heavily educated themselves with what it takes to make an amazing wine that they have accomplished just that. Their Dark Chocolate Red has the best nose of ANY wine I have ever tried! (This includes us being in the Super Tuscany region of Italy a few months ago.) The dark chocolate nose makes you think that the wine would be almost overly sweet but when you taste, it just exhibits a classy multi layered red that leaves you with the perfect dark chocolate aftertaste the name promises. And this is just one... We went two weekends in a row and picked up half a case. Go and let me know if I am not making an understatement. Well done City Scape, you have done Greenville proud!

I had a wonderful experience here! A friend and I drove up from Columbia and did the wine tasting with cheese plate. It was fun and really nice to be trying something different. They have something for you whether you enjoy whites, reds, dessert wines, etc. The owners, Josh and Deb are the nicest couple. So warm and take their time explaining what everything is. We got to feed the goats and get a tour of the property and see where the wine is actually made. They have really captured that atmosphere you crave when you want to relax and feel at peace. We purchased multiple bottles and even bought a few bottles for a silent auction we were having and they donated free wine tastings to support a local charity. Can't say enough great things about Josh and Deb's business practice and City Scape. Great job!!

James Cartee

Everyone was nice and friendly tried several types of wine bought 4 types 3 of one type for the discount. We will be taking our bottles back for $1per bottle off next purchase

Thoroughly enjoyed the tasting here. The owners had a great vibe and chatted with us throughout the tasting. As a beginner wine taster, I learned so much from them in this chic but relaxed winery atmosphere. And, the property is beautiful, especially in the evening. Check the goats and the pig, get some wine to take with you, and see if they'll let you take a date on a picnic there.

What a great little spot! Came here and did a tasting with my in-laws and it was great! I really enjoyed most of the wines and loved that they offered a tasting that came with a cheese plate! Best part? Pinot the pig and feeding the goats!!

Holly Bekah

I enjoyed the wine tasting and how the table was set up with glasses and food upon arrival. I look forward to visiting again!

I took my girlfriend here as an early Christmas present in mid-December. The wine tasting itself was very informative and very well done. The host was incredibly knowledgeable of all the different aspects of each different wine and gave us a perfect balance of attention and time to ourselves. The wines themselves were great!! As a relatively young couple (early 20s), it was nice to explore lots of different styles of wines and expand our tastes. I would definitely recommend trying their desert wines, they made excellent presents to a few different people. I definitely recommend the cheese plate to go with the wines, the food itself was quality but having something else with all that wine was helpful too! Being able to walk out into where the vines are and also see the animals they have on the property made it a particularly unique experience. I will say it was a slight detractor that the space they had was fairly crowded. Even though we were the only table in the tasting room for most of our visit, I could certainly see it being too busy with a full house. They do their best to fit as many tables for as many people into the space they have now, but sometimes more is not always better. Our host told us they were expanding to a larger building soon, so I hope that helps alleviate this. We definitely plan to go back, see the changes, and of course, taste a few more glasses.

Can't say enough about are 1st but definitely not the last time visiting. The staff and wines where above and beyond my expectations. We did the tour and tasting afterwards were so many great ones to choose from we decided on six different ones

Great place! We had a lot of fun! Had a large group & they gave us great service. We enjoyed the wine tasting while the kids played & enjoyed the goats & the pig.

Kiley W.

We had such a lovely time at City Scape Winery! Carl was so attentive during our wine tasting and although we are both red/dry drinkers, we loved every wine we tried! The premium tasting is well worth the extra $6 for a nice cheese plate and you get to keep your glass. After the tasting we enjoyed a glass outside on the patio and even got to see Pinot the pig do some tricks! We are from out of town but there appeared to be a lot of locals enjoying the winery on a Friday afternoon. A beautiful atmosphere with a pleasant staff who has great attention to detail, and who crafts delicious wine! We can’t wait to visit again.

My wife and I did a tasting there for her birthday. The wine is amazing and we enjoyed hearing what really goes into making every type of wine. City Scape Winery is such a fun place! You won't be disappointed! Great wines, atmosphere and the owners are so knowledgeable and welcoming! Fun place for a couples night out, a girls night out or even a private event! City Scape Winery is a treasure!

My husband and I attended the release of the Carménère, a warm, bold, complex, and subtly sweet red wine. I savored each sip and the accompanying meal of smoked brisket, smashed potatoes, and blueberry salad highlighted every note. The owners of City Scape welcomed us as old friends to a dinner party in their home and we enjoyed every moment. I look forward to our return to sample the other dry and semi dry wines this new generation of City Scape owners introduce. Thank you for a wonderful night!

I had my wedding at City Scape yesterday and everything went perfectly smooth. I can't say enough good things about Deb, Josh, Karl and everyone else who stayed the entire day to make sure it all went great. Deb is the sweetest person and made sure everything was taken care of, decorated, and that all of our guests were happy. Karl is one of the nicest people I've ever met and helped me and my bridesmaids carry things into the house they have on site to use as a bridal suite. The evening atmosphere with the string lights and music.... it was perfect. They are a wonderful outdoor wedding venue and the wine is amazing!! Thanks, from Sean and Irina

I first met Anita and Wayne years ago when I signed up to take a winemaking class with them. They are a lot of fun and made that class so enjoyable! I am still making wine to date! City Scape's wines are fantastic! My favorites are the Coffee Delight, Caramel Delight, and Chocolate Orange wines. Yum! I always bring one of those out for Girls Night, and they are always a hit! I highly recommend City Scape Winery. Go check 'em out. I'm sure you'll love them, too!

I come here so much, they recognize me now ! I love it here because it is so peaceful and serene. I always get friendly customer service every single time, and I am completely spoiled by the wine! They have some different flavors for the different seasons as well. I am originally from Atlanta, so everyone that comes to visit me for the first time gets taken here first. Beyond recommend going!

We had a blast and the wines were good

We visited in November 2017 and did the wine tasting outside and then moved inside. They had a nice crowd - we were there on a late Friday afternoon. Great wines and super friendly owner/hosts. We also met Pinot... the corporate spokespig? We purchased the Carolina Nights wine. Recommended.

mickey Forced

Other than the Woman's Group that was outside being very loud boisterous and rude I will not attribute this Behavior to the winery absolutely not ...the hostess was very cordial very forthcoming couldn't ask for anybody more forthcoming and Friendly... I'm mostly dominant aggressive and brash and she still was very polite, very joking very clever and very friendly with the wine and cheese plate when I visited I saw no reason for anything less than 4 stars other than I expected a small Pig and the big goat was pretty rough and rude to the other goats..... I bought 10 bottles I have no problem returning for deposit on bottles and refilling even more bottles

Joseph Merlin

We found this gem about 5 months ago and now go every week. They can be crowded on Saturday and Sunday which is why we go Thursday evening but they can’t help so popular. Everyone we have gotten to know is great and they are looking to expand here soon which is needed because of the popularity. We like drier wines but 90% of their wines are awesome, even the sweet ones. The main sitting area is small, but we actually like it. Nice people and Great wines, a must try.

Great venue, good wines, too!

I’ve been here a LOT. Deb is wonderful and so is the wine. They absolutely have a wine for everyone. My personal favorite is the in-assuming mueller two-goats. It’s a great wine for cheese. Yes, they are rural. I think it makes them personal and gives charm. I wouldn’t go here if you’re on a schedule, but if you’re a wino or love people you couldn’t ask for more. I’m at the first major event of summer now. Yes there are struggles as a smaller business gets a 500+ people, but the staff has overcome and tried their best to provide quality wine at a great price with southern charm. Everyone should go here, and I say that as a brewer.

Be sure you pair the Coffee Delight with some chocolate. The Raspberry White Zin would make a great slushy or a smoothie! Delightful proprietor and her mascot greeted us warmly.

Pros: Nice place outside of Greenville, friendly service Cons: The wines were sweet tasted like candy.

The wines are fantastic, the scenery and outdoor space are beautiful, and the hosts, Josh and Deb, are wonderful people! City Scape provides such a nice, relaxing atmosphere, and you will be sure to have a good time!

Such a cute little winery tucked away outside of Greenville. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Good selection wines, but not much to choose from. Pomegranate pinot noir and pineapple Riesling was the best. Great local cheese and sausage pairings. Only bummer cant buy online if out of state.

Go! We are in the process of making our own wine there. Josh is very knowledgeable and nice, low key, great guy. You can tell he loves what he's doing. We sampled some wines and ended up buying some bottles before we left. Yum. They have a beautiful area for get togethers or occasions outside. We can't wait for our kids and families to come home so we can take them there. I love that we are supporting a local business, an artisan and a family. Go. It's worth it.

City Scape Winery in Greenville, SC has the distinction of the most unique wine selection compared with other area wineries I’ve toured. This is either a good or a bad thing, depending on how traditional your taste in wine is. My husband and I visited during a vacation week for the owners, but those filling in did a remarkable job attending to customers and spreading the story/vision of City Scape in their absence. As I understand it, City Scape started out as the previous owners’ hobby and has escalated to the current owners’ (of one year) full-time passion. The leap these folks took is commendable. I’m a person who loves pairings, and what City Scape offers are fruit-forward blends I’d liken more to wine coolers than I’m used to (though the alcohol content is on par with traditional wines) that go well with food. With flavors like Strawberry Savignon Blanc and Pineapple Riesling, these aren’t your normal varieties. The Green Apple Gewuztraminer in particular (which literally has the smell of green apple juice) seems like it will pair amazingly with pork. (Update 8/11/17: Opened a bottle of the Green Apple with some pork chops last night and found the wine in volume to be overly sweet for our taste. I'd recommend trying a full glass of this before committing to purchasing it.) Blackberry Merlot goes great with cheese and I can imagine is phenomenal with puff pastry-wrapped baked brie. A few negatives. City Scape makes their own wine, but the grapes (as I’m told) are imported. There are grape vines on-site but not in the measure you’ll find at larger vineyards whose wines are made from grapes they grow on location. The grapes used aren’t even local grapes, which is kind of a bummer because it seems this place likes to support local (Happy Cow Creamery). Also, the tasting room is pretty no-frills and limited for space. City Scape has a clearly bright future as the room was full, but reservations are a must. Walk-ins are welcome, however I don’t recommend doing so on a weekend. Also, it was tough for me to get a bathroom break. One bathroom for so many people doesn’t work well with this much liquid flowing. A premium tasting includes a souvenir glass. It’s a small thing but worth mentioning that it would be nice if the glasses were wrapped in tissue and bagged upon departure rather than rinsed and a napkin stuck in them. It's very hard to travel with loose glass and since we purchased a full case of wine, there wasn't room in our wine box. The upside, a premium tasting includes a cheese plate with a couple of tasty relishes, crackers, and some craisins. This is a nice feature and not something I’ve seen included elsewhere. It’s also great for Happy Cow Creamery which is 2 miles up the road and clearly reaping the benefit of a symbiotic relationship with City Scape. We went after our tasting as did several others to purchase cheese and relish. Overall, unique, quaint, and worth checking out, especially for the price, which is relatively low for what I’m used to paying. A little grounds keeping and expansion might make this place off the charts. Its biggest downfalls are the site and the fact that the grapes aren’t local. Worth a visit.

Lori Jones

Noisy and poor service....atmosphere like at a crowded Walmart...very disappointing

Sandi Sersen

Charles was knowledgeable and didn’t rush us through the tasting. Great price for a cheese appetizer plus 10-12 tastings and a wine glass. The wines were amazing, with a variety of fruit flavors and dryness levels. I bought several bottles and would absolutely return.

samone hackett

We found this gem driving around the area!!! We fell in love with the ambience and the great women that work there

Tony Schaeffer

I love this place!

Vianca Philpotts

4 stars only because we didn't get to see Pinot but the pairings were phenomenal. We had the opportunity to experience the Valentine's Chocolate and Wine Tasting. The plantain chip and mojito chocolate were awesome! My favorite was the house fav, the pomegranate pinot but the green apple gewürzt was a close second. They were sweet but not too overwhelming. I was not a fan of the cab sauv nor the chocolate it was paired with. Our wine specialist was super detailed and knowledgeable about the winery and its history so he was able to answer all my questions (I forgot his name ) and super personable. Small gem in Pelzer, I'd love to see it when the vines are producing.

Timmy Bryant

Deborah was absolutely amazing and very helpful and fun. We had a great time and bought a few wines and will definitely be back soon before Christmas. Awesome experience.

James Mullinax

Not only do they have excellent wine but the patio is beautiful and it’s a great place to ride a motorcycle.
