I have been shopping at Town for over a quarter century. Their owner, Elliot, is one of the most knowledgable people in the business. He consistently has one of the best collections of single malt scotch in the entire country, and I have researched this online and in person. Their wine specialist, Taylor, has assembled one of the most comprehensive collections of wine/space available in the region. All their staff is friendly and knowledgable, especially Michael, who routinely gives excellent tips on all their products when I make my Sunday forays to the store. In short, this is the best store in the region and one of the best in the country.

I've been shopping at Town for 15 years and I couldn't say more about my experiences there. Elliot, Taylor, Mike, Amanda and the rest of the team...are truly experts in their field. If you want to learn more about wine, beer or scotch, Town is the place for you! The team is not afraid to spend a lot of time with you to teach you about wine in particular. You don't have to feel self conscious if you are not a wine expert, they are not snobby! Just ask them and they will help you find an amazing bottle!! They just love what they do and love exposing others to amazing wine, beer, scotch, and other spirits. They are also not trying to just sell you an expensive bottle. Actually, quite the opposite. They are trying to find you value and a quality wine, beer, or spirit that meets your palate AND your budget. There is no place to buy liquors better than Town Wine & Spirits! Being from California, I have always considered myself a bit of a wine connoisseur but found I know very little because of what they know vs what I don't know!! Elliot and his staff spend all the time you need to find exactly the right wine for ANY occasion at the price I need! Their prices are right in line, but the service is second to none!! If you want a great Scotch, they have it! I run in there to buy a quick 6 pack and end up spending 20 minutes just looking at the great assortment!!

I don't think that there is a better place in RI to buy wine and beer if you are interested in what exactly you are buying. Michael is my "go to" guy but he's not alone. They have terrific sales, especially "end of bin" sales. I like to order a case or mixed case of wine and have it delivered to my house. I'm and old lady who likes to drink! and I don't want the bother of carrying a case around like I'm a spry young thing!

As someone who has been going there for at least 25 years, I am happy to let others know that Town Wine & Spirits is not your run-of-the-mill shop. We in Rhode Island are fortunate to have a good number of serious retailers, but Town offers a rare depth of knowledge and an unusual commitment to education and service. You can just drop by for a favorite six-pack, or you can let Elliot, Taylor, or Michael help you make a special selection of single-malt, wine, or craft beer. If you want a case of a particular wine, it's amazing how often they can pull a full, unopened case of that very wine out of their cellar. If they can't, they'll get one for you in less than a week.

I’ve shopped for wines and liquors at Town for over twenty years but hadn’t been there in many months. When we went in Taylor greeted us like long term friends and helped us with a gift idea for a family member. We came up with a special edition scotch from an area of Scotland I’d never heard of. While we considered gifts in a wide price range (up to $350) the selection we settled on was only $140 which was well within our budget (it was for our adult son for a very significant career milestone). The special and personal attention I receive at Town is one of the reasons I always come back there.
