I would NOT recommend going to spring gate winery. I recently went with a large group of friends and our night was ruined because we were disrespected by the employees and owner. We were 'asked us to leave' for doing absolutely nothing wrong! It was utterly ridiculous. We went with the intention of having dinner there since they advertised that they serve food. The food trucks closed at 7 so we were not able to get food as we arrived at 715. When I asked the bartender if they sold food there, he said no and suggested ordering pizza. When the pizza arrived, the employees at the gate would not allow it in. It was a big ordeal that could have been handled more respectfully. In turn, they then asked us to leave as per the owner's request. We were flabbergasted because an employee was the one to suggest the pizza, it wasn't even our idea!! Although, he should not be to blame. Management clearly has not trained their staff properly since employees are misinformed. We wouldn't have brought outside food in if we realized we were doing something 'wrong.' We like to be respectful to establishments we go to and would like the same courtesy in return. Spring gate was not the chill, laid back scene we thought it was. We will never return and I hope we can dissuade others from going there as well!

Not just a wine tasting room...A lovely rural setting on a working farm, charming & helpful staff, plenty of seating, amazingly delicious catered foods (each night and brunch of Sundays) and live (free) music in the evenings to enjoy a variety of premise-made wines. The vineyard can host event from 6-50 people and outside tent for up to 500 (weddings, etc.) What a treat and minutes from Colonial Park Mall! Must do! (tips: 1. Give yourself an hour or two to enjoy it with friends. 2. No outside food and drinks allowed. 3. Sign up for a wine and food pairing event.)

My husband and I absolutely love it here. We come almost every Thursday for free wine tastings. Super friendly and helpful staff and fantastic wines, ciders, and beers in a quaint, tucked away location. Perfect for relaxing mini-dates during the week.

Slow service, rude and unknowledgeable wait staff, small sample selection, and wines tasting as if the wine maker is a novice. I have been on multiple occasions and have finally reached my end with this local shop. I am in no way a master sommelier, but I can certainly taste the difference between excellence and mediocrity.

We decided to stop here on our drive home because they were open 5PM to 10PM on a Wednesday, and we had to check that out. They have a fixed tasting which was nice and it included some gingerbread cider. We bought a bottle of Merlot based on the server's recommendation and got some BBQ sandwiches from a food truck parked on site. We had a great dinner outside with some truffles for dessert that made the evening awesome!

We had a pleasant evening on Wednesday! Live music too! Very popular place. Nice clean restrooms and facilities. For $15 you can get a wine slushy in a reusable cup and refills are only $5 during happy houes 5 to 9 pm! Multiple food trucks are there for your enjoyment!

This winery left me wondering if this is what service has boiled down to in this country. We were going to by a few bottles of wine to send to friends and family back home. When we asked to taste we were told that we could not. I don't even know what the price of the bottle of the oak chardonnay is but I can say that they missed an opportunity to sell 6 bottles because we could not even get a taste. This is a once and done venue for us! They have a great location but the arrogance that exudes from this place is amazing. I guess West Hanover Winery will be getting our business from now on....

Every part of our experience was a positive one. From the moment we arrived the parking lot attendants were kind and helpful and every staff member we encountered made us never want to leave. The atmosphere was as amazing as the food and beverages. I highly recommend this place.

Don't join their wine club! I have not received any variety in the wines and the pick-up time is 7 p.m. on a Tuesday. I attempted to cancel after paying for 4 quarters of wine to receive an email saying they won't cancel because I signed a contract. I don't have a copy of this contract. When I signed up the lady said "we like for you to commit to at least a year," which I have done. In no way does that verbiage lead me to believe that I have signed a contract. The woman at the counter this week said I had to call in to cancel however she couldn't even find their phone number. I have called twice and been unable to reach someone and was again unable to speak to someone to cancel when I was there this week. Now they send me an email saying I can't cancel. What a joke. Very disappointed in the entire experience. This facility will not see another dime from me. I will pay a lawyer first.

Wines are pretty average for the area, I haven't tried the cider or beer. The property is gorgeous and the events are very fun! 3 star review for 2 things: a seriously inadequate bathroom situation with long lines, and really poor service/lack of staff at the ValenWines tour event.

Prior to 2017 I visited spring gate one or two times and everything was positive. Fast forward to 2017 is when I first began to play solo piano/vocals at their venue. Every person I come in contact with who is employed by spring gate is so very nice and pleasant. This seems to complement the whole vibe of this Vineyard. All of the customers dig live music and I'm so grateful for that.

Although you don't overlook the vineyards, the gathering areas are nicer than any winery we visited in the Finger Lakes! We enjoy taking our friends, clients and business associates here.

Temperature was cool for May. My wife stopped one of the employees to ask if we could start one of the fire pits. He said yes but there was no gas bottle. He went and got one for us, hooked it up and lit it for us. Great start to the afternoon.

1st time here tonight. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the setting. The barbecue truck was the best food!! Unfortunately this place is mismanaged. Very slow lines to get drinks. At least a 15 minute wait. When in the “tent” area I ask for a sample of beer and get told No the line is to long!!! You mean the line I just stood in for 15 min!!’ It takes 3 seconds to put a splash in a cup!! Get real and hire people that can move and know how to treat customers. Hopefully when or if I come the servers are trained better.

Full disclosure - I am close friends with the owner. I've been visiting Springgate since it's inception. I got to taste their wines before the winery opened to the public. I was there when they served their first wines to the public and I was there when they debuted their first beer. Call me lucky. Springgate has turned itself into a destination with food, art, and cultural events on a year-round schedule. Come for the atmosphere, enjoy a tasty glass of wine or glass of beer with friends.

Two young ladies working could have cared less that we walked in and said they weren’t ready to do tastings-she didn’t have her menu yet! Will never come here again! I was excited to check out Spring Gate Winery for Seafoodfest today. I was sorely disappointed. The "seafoodfest" consisted of Crab Newberg covered french fries and a few small other offerings. The only thing I can say was great about my visit was my company.

They have live awesome entertainment and they have something happening every day. They gave slushies that are great, delicious food trucks. We didn't try the beers so we will definitely be returning. This was my husband's first wine tasting experience and he loved it. Such an awesome place. Luke was awesome!!

This place was a terrible experience. Bad service. Harassing service. If your looking to have fun with a group of people don't go here. Staff stood around our tables like vultures and we didn't do anything wrong while there were biker gangs breaking glasses and being loud but we were the ones that had to go. We were talking to our own group of people not sleeping on tables or f bombing the place. We werent bothering anyone. Staff handed us waters and said we needed to leave and we felt very disrespected. I would recommend Hauser and Adams winery. They will have my business from now on and I will choose them over here any day.

On a whim I decided to join a friend here to check the place out. The grounds are well maintained, the beer selection is outstanding, and the wine sampling was enjoyable. Picked up a bottle of the delicious Detente to take home. Plenty of food to choose from and the staff as well as other patrons were inviting and friendly. Will definitely be back.

It's a nice place but I wouldn't recommend going when they are having any type of event (peach festival). They were under staffed and over crowded. We had to wait in line for 2 hours just to buy a bottle of wine to go sit down and relax with. If we weren't dropped off and stranded we would have left. They sold out of the new peach flavored drink that they were advertising by the time we got through the line. It was frustrating. They arent prepared for the amount of people that come.

I highly recommend the white they have it might be the best wine I've ever had. Beyond the awesome wine spring gate does fun events all the time so keep up with their Facebook or website for events. The winery itself is a cozy place tha5ts inviting for all and has a relaxing atmosphere for all to enjoy after a long day at work.

Overall, nice atmosphere and good selection of wine, beers, and ciders. The ambience outside is on-point and great for summer hangouts (tons of space and fire pits). Only thing I wish was different here was the availability of water - tap/complimentary water is not served here and you will be asked to pay $2 for a water bottle (expensive and kind of archaic considering how much you spend on the drinks to be there in the first place). Otherwise, cool place and with friendly staff.

This place was really a cute vineyard. We went for the wing festival that they were having. My only complaint was that the place wasn't fully handicap accessible. My dad is handicap and he had a hard time getting around and the chairs were very wobbly for him.

This is a wonderful hidden gem in the off skirts of Harrisburg. They have a wonderful array of wines that run from dry to very sweet (almost sweet as jam). They also offer a line of hard ciders as well as beer. Come for a wine tasting, sit outside around the fire pit with your friends, or pull up an Adirondack chair, enjoy the music, sunshine, lawn games, and the piece de resistance, wine slushies. They offer year round entertainment, seasonal beverage offerings and follow them on social media to catch their amazing sales!

My friend and I love visiting wineries and we had never been here before so decided to go check it out. We stopped at a few wineries on the way thinking we would have plenty of time since the hours at spring gate were advertised till 11 only to get there and find out they stopped doing tastings at 5pm which was NOT stated anywhere on their social media or even the tasting menu. So we drove 2 hours to end up getting an overpriced wine slush compared to other wineries in the area and mediocre food. Very disappointed with the visit to this place. I don’t like buying bottles of wine I haven’t tried but even if we did want to purchase something to sit and enjoy there the line to purchase was wrapped all the way around the inside of the building. We were also excited to try the wine soft serve only to find out they only serve it on sundays. The property was beautiful and they seemed to have a good selection but they need to better advertise what is and is not available each day and more staff to manage the ridiculously long lines to even get a drink.

Spring has provided awful service for 2/3 of our trips. Misunderstanding and some confusion in 2019 (Hershey Wine Trail) and Sandy was extremely rude to our group in 2017. Our group of 12 has came to this wine trail and usually buys 6 or more bottles total at each winery, so a lot of money just walked out and will not return. Beware if you are planning an event here.

My family and I love Spring Gate. There really is something for everyone, so even if you aren't a wine or beer drinker, you would still enjoy it. It's in an absolutely beautiful outdoor setting, surrounded by trees and by a picturesque barn. There is ample seating with Adirondack chairs around fire pits, picnic tables, or you could bring your own. They have gamea like corn hole, ladder golf, and Jenga. There are various food trucks, so eating options vary from day to day, which is cool. I haven't had the wine here, but their beer is very good. All in all, a great experience.

Spring Gate instantly became our go-to for a casual, relaxing backyard friendly neighborhood spot. Incredible selection of wine or craft beers. If you can't find something to sip on here, there is just something wrong with you. The property is beautiful and layed out in a comfortable family picnic atmosphere. Great assortment of rotating food vendors/trucks.

A small group of co-workers met here on a rainy Friday after work to have a few drinks. They have wine slushies that are a pretty enjoyable way to imbibe. There were food trucks out back and I was able to get a cheese steak and fries within about two minutes. They have a very large enclosed area with seating and oversized Jenga blocks and uno cards for fun. Seems a pretty popular spot among the ladies.

So I thought it would be nice for our 3 Generation of Women to Enjoy and Wow it was the Perfect Place for us!!! My Mother is handicapped and she had no problem getting around with her cane. My family and I stop at wineries in each state during our road trips as a way to collect bottles and glasses and break up the trip and my goodness did I choose correctly when I chose this one! We just so happened at visit during an event and it was one of the highlights of our vacation! We did a tasting for $7 that included a free glass and I struggled to not buy a dozen bottles! The staff was smiley and wonderful. We left with a strawberry wine and a couple of dry reds. The sweet wines at this vineyard are on point! There were multiple kinds of food trucks on the property one of which was Piper Belle BBQ which served a crab and lobster fry. Yum. However my absolutely favorite part of the vineyard was the cute tumbler filled with a wine slushie! It was so delicious and perfect! Thank you for such a wonderful time!

My family is a loyal customer of Spring Gate since it opened. Unfortunately we had a horrible experience tonight celebrating and reminiscing with friends who are moving South. We showed up at 10pm wanting Wine Slushies. I was sent to ALL stations, directed from one to the next, with the precendence that I would get a slushie. However when I got to the last station, the carriage house, the windows were closed and an employee mouthed "we're closed" to me. I tapped on my watch to demonstrate the time and she opened the window a crack and said we close at 10. She told me that there were cleaning procedures that needed done, even though the winery is open until 11pm. This is not advertised or said anywhere. When I came back to our table my sister went over and asked for the manager. Eventually, he came over to where we were sitting and was looking for a fight. He attacked my sister, myself, my family and friends. He yelled, cursed, and said I don't have to explain 'company policy' to you. Eventually we were led to believe that due to the humidity the Slushies were having a difficult time today. He then called security over to escort us out. In which security, assessing the situation, realized that the manager was in the wrong not us. Once the manager finally walked away, the security guards asked if we were okay and apologized. It was such an overwhelming situation and very hurtful. We are so sad to see such poor management at this great facility. The kicker is that the weekends events are called "get slushed" which is advertised on Facebook as going until 11pm. Be warned- this place does not value respect or its customers.

This is one of the best places in the area that has the full spectrum of what you might want. Wine, cider and beer. All of their offerings are very good. The food trucks that are on site have excellent fare. The grounds are relaxing and entice you to stay all day. If you haven't visited, treat yourself.

Went for the first time this past weekend for the Peach festival. The grounds are beautiful, scenic, and great to sit and hang out. However, in what world do you charge $7 for a wine tasting, then proceed to put a few DROPS of each wine (7-8 kinds) into a small plastic cup and call that a "tasting?" Absolutely ridiculous. I've been to other wine tastings where I'd get half a small cupful of wine to try... and it was FREE. If you're charging for a tasting, make it worth the charge. Not to mention, we lined up for about 40 min for this.

Went on a Wednesday Wine Slushy night. $15 gets you a (maybe?) 16 ounce growler with $5 refills, which can be used for future events. The two different varieties were absolutely delicious, and perfect on warm summer night. There was plenty of seating, and our party of 8 were able to sit in a "circle" in relative privacy. It was a great place for an impromptu girls night out. The biggest downside was the lines, hence the 4 star rating. Only one of two advertised food trucks came, so the lines were exceptionally long, and the food truck started running out of food. Then there was the line at the wine slushys. By the time you got your food and stood in line for a refill, it was time to go home. (Hours for this event were from 5-9pm). Parking is what you would find at a county fair, and not super friendly for wheelchairs or people with mobility issues. All that aside, this property is only minutes from Route 22 in the Colonial Park area, and yet it feels like you are far in the country. It's a a fun alternative to your typical restaurant, and I look forward to attending a future event.

They should call this place Spring Gate Winery and Daycare. Five (4 year olds) running around and screaming all the time we were there. Had to go inside to talk. No glasses of wine I wanted, only bottles to purchase. Great place, but they need changes...!!! I know of people who stopped going there because of the kids running all over the place.

My husband and I had an awesome experience from the parking attendant to vendors and staff. Your given 5 free wine tastings at 1st stand and move inside to try ciders or buy a wine slushy along the way. They offer cheese and crackers to buy or you can purchase oversized portions of food from a number of vendors(they change depending on the event). There are 2 outdoor sitting areas one close to the wine and cider and if you walk just a short way there is another close to the beer. That area includes music and games. We saw a wedding, a birthday party, but most of all everyone was chill and having a great time.

Very cool place that could be awesome but it falls short in a few areas. Outdoor seating and live music create a great atmosphere on a late summer evening. Unfortunately beer is just slightly above average. Biggest complaint was the bartender who was not very polite. Credit card system at the bar clearly said the “receipt is printing please sign”. When I asked for my printed receipt, bartender informed me that they never print receipts and implied that I was crazy for asking. Confirmed on my next trip to bar that screen did indeed say “receipt is printing please sign” so I’m not crazy. By this time bartender was at the half full popcorn machine. We stopped for popcorn and she informed us she was popping a batch and then had another batch to pop and then we could come get some. Apparently getting already popped popcorn while other was popping is against the law or something. Improved customer service and better quality beer could make this place a real standout but I get the sense that they are happy being just average.

Little pricey but a very cozy atmosphere. Often live music. Food is provided by way of food trucks and they have various happy hours. The Spring Gate beers are also good.
