A dry nice mountain top winery not far from Penn State. Great variety of wines that are made well. Loved the reds. Tried a nice Chardonnay done in steel. Terrific view and very nice personnel.

I’m not one to normally write reviews but I had to give credit where credit is due to this wonderful winery and it’s staff! I went on a wine tour recently at the Mount Nittany Winery and was blown away by the facility, the grounds and the wines. Most of all though I was impressed by the way we were treated by the extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff! 5 Stars! Would recommend this place to anyone visiting state College or who lives in the area!

This was my second trip to the winery! The setting is incredibly beautiful. You can take your wine and sit right outside by the pond. Now for the wines. I am partial to sweet wines, so I love the Vermelho which is Port. I also like the Moutain Mist, Mountain Sunset, and Autumn Nectar. My husband is partial to the Blueberry wine. There is a nice variety of whites, reds and sweet to choose from. The winery also offers tours. And if you purchase a case, you receive a 15% discount. It is worth the trip!

Our area's first winery, Mt. Nittany offers a wide variety of good wines in a lovely setting. Unlike some wineries, they grow their own grapes, rows and rows of which greet visitors as they approach the winery itself. Owners Betty and Joe Carroll built the winery slowly and with care, simultaneously building their reputation as a go-to site for locals and visitors alike. With their daughter, Linda, they support local groups and activities, frequently opening their vintner's loft and grounds for special events. In short, Mt. Nittany Winery is an important presence in the Centre Region.

The staff member at the winery today was shockingly rude and unprofessional. She acted like we were an imposition and had little to no knowledge of the products she was selling. My wife, a wine professional, was looking forward to learning about their practices and local wine culture and was completely disappointed. We will not be returning.

My girlfriend and I stopped by after seeing a sign. We were offered complimentary samples by a knowledgeable employee, who was able to explain the tasting notes and process behind each of the wines in a very interesting way. There's a patio out back overlooking a lake where you can drink a bottle and have a picnic. It was really a fun way to spend an hour or so on an afternoon. The wine is really good too!
