Buddy Boy winery felt like it was someone's weekend project that they tried to turn into a business. The tasting room was just a converted 1 car garage. The wines were some of the worst tasting I have had in quite a while, but my expectations may be a little high having grown up on Napa Valley wines.

I've drove by the entry road to this winery dozens of times over the years but finally turned off PA Route 15 to check it out in October 2018. It's a few miles off the state highway at the base of a mountain. The location seems remote, which is very cool. The tasting room is in a wine production area. You can taste five wines for free or pay a nominal amount for an expanded tasting that includes a glass of wine. I opted for the free tasting. Three of the five wines I tasted were unspectacular, but I did enjoy their chardonnay and riesling and took home a bottle of each. The art on the bottle is a bit primitive, which is in a way is very cool. This place is a quirky yet cool.

Buddy Boy has a lot of fun wines with even funnier names. If the snobbiness of fancy wine people has made you leery of learning about wine, Buddy Boy is the place to go. Bill and Coreena are down to earth people that love making wine and sharing wine with their patrons. Bill tinkers with developing new wines like an executive chef creates new dishes. No fancy foreign names for their creations, their wines have funny names and usually an even funnier story behind the name. They have a large selection of wines that is sure to suit just about every taste.

My wife and I decided to stop in and do a sampling. The young lady who greeted us was very nice and was very friendly while talking to us during our tasting. We enjoyed ourselves and had a glass of wine and a slushy before purchasing a bottle on our way out. We enjoyed our visit and will stop back again. Everyone has different likes and dislikes but we would recommend stopping in and giving this place a try.

I've been going to Buddy Boy since they opened 3 years ago and each time has been a very good experience! The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Their wine is always very good. The owner is always coming out with new flavors to keep things interesting! The labels on the wines are very fun!! I would recommend this winery to everyone!

We recently spent the day in Duncannon sightseeing and this was one of our stops. We had a great time sipping wine and talking to the other visitors and the people who run the place. The wine was great; we bought a bottle and have enjoyed it.

Drove all the way out to this winery for the Heartland wine trail. Pulled in only to find a bus in what they call a parking lot. Checked in with the lady at the door, whom was very nice, n waited for people from bus to finish their tastings, only to be told sarcastically by one of the servers that we (a party of 4) had to wait til the other half of the bus got off, got checked in at the door and served first....seriously. We were already picking our wines out on the sheet of paper. She could have had us done by the time the bus got unloaded. Needless to say we won't be going back.

I purchased 3 bottles of wine from them when they were at a show in Pittsburgh. Guessing the wine wasn't ready because 2 weeks after, 1 bottle actually blew up on my wine rack (at 3 am!!). Contacted and was basically told "oh well" guess you should have refrigerated with no offer to replace. Couple years later, same wine rack, same location, all bottles from various other wineries are fine. Glad it didn't break the glass in my cabinet!

When i made a comment about it i was immediately told it was my fault. I looked who commented and it was the wine shop owner. Way to grow your business...

While not a wine drinker myself so therefore i can't vouch for the product, i will say that the facility is beautiful and staff very friendly. When passing through, the owner went out of her way to open the shop for me on a "closed" day to purchase for my wife and was extremely kind towards my kids. Highly recommend!

Buddy Boy Winery is by far my favorite winery. The owners are always there and they always are welcoming. I have much respect for them. They work out of a small place but the variety of wine is amazing and the taste is outstanding. I love that it is off the major highways and tucked back in the cove. As you drive into the winery you passed the growing grapes which is a neat genuine feeling. They GROW their own grapes right there in their vineyard. The tasting room is cute and they have lots of wine accessories. They don't tell you which wines you should try. They let YOU decide however if you tell them what you like they are great at recommending different ones that you might enjoy. I love seeing Bill the owner coming through the tasting room after he just completed a long busy day. He is a hard worker and both him and his wife put their heart and soul into the winery. The fact that they can grow, make, bottle and sell right there on the premises is simply outstanding. I've never had a bad experience there and have been very pleased with all my wines, so pleased that I joined the case club and truth be told, it is the best wine club out there. I drive over an hour just to see the buddy boy crew and stock up on wine once a month. As far as other comments about the place looking like a junk hole...it simply is not true. Yes they have limited space but they are constantly improving and utilizing the space they have to produce tasty wine. They have a beautiful deck that you may sit and enjoy wine there as well as tables that you can sit and look at the vineyard. I will always support them and hope that you will give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
