Great wine for PA area

Matt A

The wines were better than I expected - very good, I might even say. I can see where the low rating reviews are coming from re: service and venue, but I have a different perspective on it. It has kind of a "mom and pop" feel, which I find refreshing. The staff were knowledgeable about their work and perfectly friendly on the two occasions that I've been there; however, they don't provide white glove service. They kind of move at their own pace and seem preoccupied with operations at times. You're basically buying wine from a room in a barn in Pennsylvania, and keeping that in mind anchored my expectations in such a way that I was happy with the experience. If you have some time to kill in the area, perhaps because you're spending some time at Ski Liberty, check them out. The wines are very good in my opinion and, perhaps thanks to the significant differences in terroir, quite distinct from e.g. California wines of the same varietal. Tastings are offered, so form your own opinions on the wine. Some are far too sweet for my taste, but are described as such. Others are drier and on point. Each time I visited, the staff was able to find several bottles to my taste. If a wine strikes your fancy particularly, cases are available at reasonable, discounted rates if you ask. Overall, it's a good deal on local wine in a relaxed setting devoid of pretense. What's not to like?

Beautiful winery with lots of unexpected amenities. Many varieties of wines from dry to sweet and you can pay $5 to sample up to 6 of them. They have a little store area for buying cute gifts. Really a nice visit overall. It would be great to stop out in the summertime when their patio cafe is open - they offer wood-fired pizza!

We had a wonderful experience at Adams County Winery! Two of us completed an experienced tour. Our guide was very helpful and knowledgeable, and the winemaker was in the cellar and answered all of our questions. We were even able to taste their white sangria before they bottled it! The private tasting included cheese, crackers, and chocolate with a number of wines, plus two more tastes in the tasting room. Their wines were very good - as someone who enjoys both dry and sweet wines, they had a good variety to taste. I would highly recommend the winery to anyone visiting the area!

What? Who?

Here for the festival on 8/25. Beautiful place but they seriously need more staff. 1 hr for a wine tasting and 20 mins for a drink is ridiculous.

Wines were very good. Wood fired pizza was great. The setup is wonderful.

Great wine great food and a really awesome atmosphere. The only drawback is the deck is in full sun and not every table has an umbrella. We met some new people and had a wonderful time, can't wait to go back!

Location is very quite and low key. Went for wine tasting with friends. Had a great time and wine was very good. Tried couple of there beers as well. They weren't too bad Ethier. My favorite wine is rebel red.

Daniel Grove

Nice scenic drive and close to Gettysburg. We love their selection of wines and even have some beer on tap if you don't want wine. Plenty of seating outside on the deck and also a large open field. Designated motorcycle parkingfor those out on the road. Our favorites are Stray Cat Strut, Tears of Gettysburg and Scrapple. We also picked up Three Ships to the Wind as is excellent for a Sangria.

Chrissy Kulp

Despite the pouring rain, we had a wonderful day. The place was empty when we arrived, but as the room filled, staff came from everywhere. Very highly recommended, especially in the summer, I think would be fantastic. Such a great variety of wines to choose from. There are signs posted to get there; don't follow Goggle, go to the top of the mountain past Mr Ed's and bear to the right. Much faster, coming from Chambersburg. I'll go back again.

Carolyn was super awesome and helpful! Wines are all yummy and they have an awesome case club.

This was my first trip to a winery, and I had a really nice time. Chris gave us our tour, and she was really nice and helpful. It was just me and my girlfriend on the tour, so it was very comfortable. The wines were good, but my opinion is not the most educated one! I have two complaints though. The first is that we were given 7 tastings instead of the 8 promised on the website. The second is that the glasses we were given on the Historic Tour were 150th Anniversary glasses for the Battle of Gettysburg. They look kind of tacky, and I'm not sure why they're still giving them out an entire year after the 150th anniversary... So overall, I'd recommend the winery, but go for the tour that includes the bottle of wine because the glasses are not very nice... Also, make sure you get the number of tastings that you paid for.

We love this place and love going! Best wine around!!

Fortunately not to far from my home and a great place to spend a few hours. Their staff is great and knowledgeable on their wines. It's a great place to sample and have fun chatting with your server. Sometimes there is food but also a great place to pack lunch or snack and buy a bottle or glass of chilled wine. Their surroundings and patio are a great place to relax with many places to sit outside. I like to try their new wines but still when buying a case, go back to their traditional wines...Tears of Gettysburg, Rebel Red, and Stray Cat.

Stopped in for a visit during the week while in Gettysburg. The staff are very friendly and this is a beautiful location. Wish we could have visited on the weekend when the Bistro was open, but we still had a great time relaxing with a bottle of wine in the main tasting room. Amy (?) And Andy (?) Were overly willing to assist with anything we needed and even provide us with some local favorite restaurants to try and campgrounds to check out.

Tish Weigle

Had an appointment with the event coordinator and she wasnt available when we arrived. We waited 25 minutes before someone stepped in to show us around. We were looking for a wedding venue and wanted to get realistic prices for our budget. We were given unsure ballpark numbers and staff was unprofessional.

This was out first visit to the winery. We started with a tasting. Our wine expert was very knowledgeable about the wines and helped us discover our palates. We purchased a bottle to enjoy on the terrace. We ordered a pizza that our wine expert suggested to go with the bottle. All in all a good time. I wish there would have been a larger variety of foods to choose from, however the pizza was good. The staff also suggested other destinations to visit in the area.

The staff was helpful and polite. Unfortunately due to the time of year we couldn’t just drink a bottle of wine out on their beautiful porch area. Wine was great.

My girlfriend had never been to a winery, so we started our night out at a different local spot which did not impress. After a quick google search we found this amazing place. It was exactly what I wanted her first experience to be. The gentleman who helped us, Dan, was very gracious and hospitable. We honestly felt like we were the only people in the whole place, even when there was a line behind us. It is safe to say that our visit completely turned our night around and set the positive tempo that we retained throughout our evening. Thank you Dan, and thank you Adam's County Winery! We will definitely be back to visit. This will absolutely be our go to spot when we get free time.

Love this Winery evertime we visit. We like sweet wine and fruit wine and they never disappoint. Not a one bottle purchase winery for us. Always leave with a wine bag or a case. Beautiful to sit on the deck with a cold glass of wine a few good friends and one of their oven baked pizzas
