REVIEWS OF Domaine Serene Winery IN Oregon

David Blaut

The grounds are beautiful and the wine is very good. Our semmelier (Jim) was fantastic too. This place is upscale so expect to pay a little bit more, but it was worth it. I only wish there was more outdoor seating and the cheese and meat plate was more descriptive.

Tim Miller

One of the best views and wine tasting experience we have ever had. Highly recommend!

03/17/19: 4.75 out of 5 - Domaine Serene has wonderful Pinot Noirs and other whites and roses. The estate is expansive with wonderful and spacious features and outside seating with great views. The staff are very nice, accommodating, and knowledgeable. But, quite welcoming. Enjoyed the non-intrusiveness, as well. Definitely a great winery to try once for all its wonderful wines and to decide for yourself. Enjoy!

My partner and I visited on my birthday a few days ago, and we had a fantastic time. The property is gorgeous, and it is well worth sitting down and enjoying Domaine Serene's incredible assortment of French and Oregon wines. The wine is above and beyond. We got to taste a few more glasses than what was included in our tasting selection, and really got to explore their single vineyard wines. Their 2016 Côte Sud was our personal favorite, although you really can't go wrong with any of their perfectly balanced pinot noirs. You don't often find such fruity pinots in the Willamette Valley. The staff is truly top notch and we are already looking forward to returning soon. Will helped us out through our tasting and guided us to a few bottles to take home.

David Bruerd

An amazing experience. Quality wines and Greg was so knowledgeable and his passion for wine was evident. We would recommend Domaine Serene to anyone looking for a special wine experience.

Michelle Godin

Absolutely gorgeous view with an amazing cellar- all stone imported from France. Excellent Chardonnays on the lighter side (less oak). The accompanying charceuterie board was phenomenal.

One of my favorite wineries in the Dundee Hills area. I love Woolly Willy too-- how random! You get a beautiful view of the Oregon landscape here, which is always breathtaking. The tasting room is huge and beautifully decorated. The wines are delicious here as well--- the tasting fee was the steepest of the 5 that we tried that day though at $20. The guy behind the bar was very friendly though. I also love that they offered cinnamon water and crackers. None of the other wineries we went to had water, so by the end of the day, we were needing that water!

Mr Egan

Wine is legendary. Events need work.

Eric Bruce

Very good pinot noir and amazing chardonnays. Pricey, but the experience is certainly luxurious. I attended and Industry opening event at their new gigantic Napa style Chateau Tasting Room and it was luxurious to say the least. Amazing views in a beautiful setting. It felt a little mcmansion-y interior at opening, but I'm sure it will get a little more lived-in and authentic Vibe over time. Definitely one of the best Pinot tasting rooms to visit in the Willamette Valley.

Amanda G

Incredible!! Beautiful location. Great wine

Genevieve Bogle

Views are incredible, staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. There are a variety of wines to sample...all delicious.! It's a necessary stop for your next visit!

joshua owings

Amazing place.

Christopher Harper

Incredible vineyard and after visiting 2 other vineyards this day, Domaine Serene was by far the most beautiful with the best quality wine.

Aaron VanderMeulen

Impressive place and tasting room, great experience

Sarah Lydick

Beautiful views and very friendly staff but we felt the wine did not live up to the cost of the tasting.

Kevin Hoover

Did a tasting here recently a week after dropping off clients (I’m a wine Guide in the Willamette Valley) and wanted to know more about their wines and approach to the tasting room experience. We were greeted at the entry way, questioned if we had reservations (we were there just as they opened on a Saturday morning) and shown to a table near the bar, facing the huge window that faces south and east. Ashley introduced herself and got our tasting flight started. Nice pacing of the tasting, not too rushed but attentive. Their wines area quite exceptional, as would be expected from such a name and historic background. While the wines are very good, including a 2014 Pinot Noir (tasted side by side to the same wine, but a 2016 vintage) the prices are at a premium level. Not to take anything away from the impressive tasting room and excellent staff, the beautiful vineyards and well maintained grounds, but the experts know what they are talking about and it all comes at a price. If you want an “way above average” tasting experience, then this is the place to go!

I recently worked with Domaine Serene on a client dinner. As an Event Manager at Viva! Events I have high expectations and I can confidently say they were met. The venue is beautiful and the staff was outstanding. I would highly recommend them for high touch events.

Milo

A bit disappointing that the bar manager can't authorise taste of one particular wine only. All the other wineries can and do with a pleasure. Reception and hostess very welcoming and smiley. Hostess said that wouldn't be a problem.

Stacey Land

Amazing staff, in the middle of harvest and they still took the time to show us around, answer all of our questions and show how committed they all are to this quality wine making, family owned winery. A must visit!

John Brey

The views from the moment you pull in are spectacular. The tasting room is beautiful and the wine tasting is definitely worth coming to try. I will be back.

Bill V

To be honest, I was fearful of how seemingly Hollywood they had gone, adding two Santennay wines (Made in France) and a massive club and event center. The Receptionist was a bit frosty, but the servers and other staff were not. There can be some fun people-watching as always as is at any larger winery, I would say that this is the most California-like experience in OR so have some fun. They have always made wines true to the land on which they are grown and have over my past several visits added Chardonnay to the Pinot Noir that has made them famous. Commercially Evenstead has made a reputation, even achieving #1 on WS list one year (I''ll withhold WS commentary), but making the Top 25 of a list like that is probably a good thing/bad thing. The prices generally aren't for the feint of heart or wallet, but two levels of tasting as well as a segregated Member's Room are available. It's really a very pleasant place for the massive size and investment made there. They clearly have re-invested their profits. Wine is what you make it, I like to categorize three categories of wine for novices: cat 1 - will drink, cat 2 - won't drink, cat 3 - will drink when someone else pays. You will encounter some Category 3 wines here, or maybe you'll choose to buy some of those for special occasions. It's probably best to make an appointment although one never had to before, they could be at capacity if you hit the wrong day. You will find well-made wines of intensity, balance and length with some powerful, some elegant. Club allows complete customization, an excellent option. No need to put Evenstead or Yamhill (In moderately wide distribution) into your allocation unless you want to. Over the years I have developed my favourites in their stable. Well worth a visit, linger, the building and the patio are both excellent.

Wes Metz

Excellent service, wonderful views, some of best wines. You get what you pay for.

Jordan Rice

The place was hardly busy, but we waited half an hour to be served before leaving for another winery. They have a lot of money and a nice tasting room, I wonder if the wine is any good?

S Wulff

I've been a member for several years. The service has always been great, and the employees who have been around for a time always know my name and are very attentive. Wines are fabulous and well worth the tasting fee if you aren't a member. I visit a lot of wineries and $20 to $25 is a very common fee for tastings anymore.

Gerardo & Yolanda Mauriz

Inconsiderate, we drive 1 hour to get there. They tell us no credit cards systems down, we say cash is fine, they say they cannot take cash either. We ask why, they say only taking people with reservations. Their website said they were open, nothing said they would not take walk ins. Totally clueless about how to treat visitors.

Sydney James

Truly one of my favorite wineries. The grounds are gorgeous, especially in the summer, and if you come on a quieter day you can walk over to the Chardonnay vines and enjoy a glass of wine in absolute peace.

Jesse Fuentes

This was our first visit to Domaine Serene, we were not disappointed. Beautiful location, Tasting Room, and the wines were exquisite (particularly enjoyed the cuvee).

Anka Trifan

What a beautiful location for an elevate experience! The views into the vineyards are just fantastic. If you're there for the sunset, it's heavenly! Roxanne is a sweetheart to work with and the wine is fabulous! They have some wonderful tours too. It's a must visit fantastic location in the wine country!

Matthew Flood

Excellent vistas and the best wine I've had from the Valley!

Brian Harris

Great wine and views

Lew Nuzzie

Our friends suggested this winery. Great place for wine tasting and touring with family. Very knowledgeable staff, very friendly. Would highly recommend.

Dan C

Our favorite of the local wineries. Good bottles $40. Very good $75. Excellent $100. Definitely get what you pay for, but something for everyone.

Charles Schreiber

Fantastic facilities and amazing wines. Enjoyed every bit of my time here.

Spectacular

We had the most wonderful time at Domaine Serene!! We visited Willamette Valley for a sister’s trip and so happy we made this one of our stops. Samantha was our host. She was full of knowledge and enhanced experience. I highly recommend this winery. The wines are amazing from both their Oregon and Burgundy properties.

Jake Rahner

Recently as yesterday, we made a trip with three couples to Domaine Serene. It was a beautiful day for wine tasting the six selections that were presented to us. After our presenter explained the vineyard, the selections and the appetizer tray, we enjoyed our time together. By chance we met another couple from Ft. Worth Texas. They were happy to share their experience and the chocolates they received with their tasting. We then purchased four bottles of wine to pickup when we departed, however we purchased three more bottles of wine to enjoy out on the patio. I inquired about purchasing only six pieces of chocolate for our table, but they refused to serve us or let me purchase six chocolates. I was a bit taken back after all we spent and no offering of chocolates for our table of six, with me offering to purchasing them. Sorry to say, there are other wineries, like Stoller Family Estate down the road who were more accommodating. We will not support this type of hypocrisy towards paying customers. We wish them well.

Dave Dub

The grounds & architecture are unmatched outside of Italy. The tasting fee is pricey, but if you factor in that you're visiting one of the most unique spots in wine country, you'll find it well worth the $15. Staff in the tasting room are extremely friendly and professional. Despite the luxuriousness of everything you'll be just fine wearing jeans & t-shirt, you will be treated just as well as the over-dressed california tourists. The wine is extremely good, but the experience is better. Come on a sunny day. 4 stars due to this being a more "california" style winery with prices to match.

Mikel Mann

Superb wine, amazing view and wonderful staff! Planing a trip back!

Patricia Andrews

Wonderful wines. Great atmosphere. Angus was very knowledgeable and friendly, making us feel welcomed. We happily joined your wine club thanks to him

Manthan Gandhi

The views from here are beyond words. The staff is very hospitable, and Haylee (sp?) was incredibly knowledgable about the wines, not to mention super friendly. Loved our experience. Thank you so much!!!!

Andrew Anselmo

This company spent 50,000 dollars to run ads to discredit FBI director James Comey. SHAME!

Traci Courson

Treated like royalty every time we visit. Great wines served by a friendly staff!

Mark Stevens

I've been coming to this winery for about four years so far after first discovering it during a trip to Crater Lake National Park. Their Jerusalem Hills Pinot Noir is a delight to savor! After you enjoy tasting wine, go and explore the building and nearby surroundings. One can just take in the Willamette valley all around this location! Another thing I like is the style of the architecture. For me, it has the feel of a Mediterranean villa, especially walking down some steps to the tasting room.

matthew masters

Ken Landis

Sarah Harris

Great venue for a company party!

Richard Gray

Beautiful grounds and facility, extremely friendly staff, and top notch wines. The only reason I give the winery four stars is the price. Their tasting fee's are on the high side ($20 or $40 depending on whether you choose the regular or single vineyard flight) as are the wines. With the on-location lodging, the operation gives off the feel that the proprietors are more interested in generating revenue than focusing on the wine itself. Worth a visit, but be prepared to spend some cash.

Kathy Jones

I was dining at Punchbowl Social, Portland on the evening of March 7th 2018 and “Domaine Serene” was having a company event here. The event itself was cut off from drinking and immediately became rude and argumentative. Mind you, I was a bystander in the situation. I have never witnessed such disrespect and entitlement in my whole life. This group was not only rude to the servers and bartenders, but to the general manager as well. They demanded free stuff and used inappropriate profanities while speaking to the staff and management. I have never been to this winery and I will NEVER go. I refuse to contribute to a self entitled, rude and disrespectful company. Trust me, spend your money elsewhere.

Thanks Rudy, Darko and Kevin and many other associates that have been top notch hosts without any pretensions and truly there to make guests have a memorable time and has been my favorite stop for myself and dozens of guests I have brought over. Please take a moment to congratulate your crew for there service.

Timothy Adams

Absolutely beautiful area. It's a really long drive. The people are friendly.

Abdul Ismail

Great wine, excellent service, awesome views!

stevenj120

Amazing atmosphere and beautiful tasting room. David is a great addition to the Domaine Serene team, the wine was great but his charisma and knowledge really elevates the winery. Thank you for the experience.

Jenny Erickson

Gorgeous wines, excellent service, killer ambience and Olga knew and was passionate about the wines the served (which are on the luxury end). This was luxury wine, a luxury experience, with an approachability not often paired with the two. Loved it!

Patricia Green

Dan Poysnick

This place is absolutely beautiful. Almost too nice.

William Bateman

The wine is second to none, and the service is amazing! I'm a member because each visit is a memorable experience. Cannot recommend ot enough.

Clark

Palatial chateau on the top of a beautiful hill directly across from Domaine Drouhin. What a fantastic place they have. The wine is stellar and especially their French Pinots are incredible. The service in the tasting room is also good. This is worth the drive. Check it out.

Lin Johnson

Absolutely beautiful views paired with amazing wines. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. A great afternoon!

Sarah Morrison Olson

We were very intimidated driving up to this mansion “club house” on the most beautiful vineyard grounds we saw this whole trip. But very quickly the greeter made us feel welcome. Reservations aren’t required. This experience is luxe - the boards of cheese and charcuterie are expensive but beautiful. We loved the wine. We loved sitting outside. Don’t be intimidated & give it a try.

ron perry

Beautiful building, good wine

Went with members for a tasting and it was amazing! A special place in our hearts... we had 6 rounds of the best wine i have ever had along with meats nuts cheese fried fruits and apples. My wife and I had a bottle of Domaine Serene “Grace” the night I asked her to marry me. 10 yrs later we made it there!!! We will be back

Stephen Mroczek

The atmosphere and staff are overly done up and feel very fake. Signage for the tasting room was unclear. Would not recommend.

Max Power

Very nice atmosphere and scenery and some great Pinot Noir, just a little pricey.

Francesca A

Beautiful wines in a gorgeous setting! The best part of our wine tasting trip in the Willamette Valley.

Stephanie Mansheim

The only thing impressive about this tasting room is the view. Wines we're bland and lacked any resemblance of a personality.

Jamila Maries

Gorgeous views! Wonderful wines! Very classy!

Jim

Wow! Just....Wow. Like a five-star resort in San Diego or Palm Springs. I'd rate it five-stars just for the facility alone. But the view is also five stars as was the wine, food and service. You won't find a better winery than this anywhere.

Henry Shao

Beautiful architecture. Large fancy tasting room. $30 tasting fee.

Catherine Ives

Lovely views. Delicious wine. What more?

Mark Landau

We went there yesterday for a tasting. It is a spectacular facility. The view from the porch is gorgeous. The waiter was very nice & attentive. We ordered a charcuterie board which was very good. I ordered the $40 tasting so $8 per glass. Pours were extremely small. I didn’t realize that 2 of the 5 were Chardonnay’s. My mistake plus I didn’t like them. The three reds were good although oddly (to me) one was a burgundy from France as Serene evidently owns the vineyard there. So, in summary I liked the three reds & it is completely relaxing & beautiful to sit outside & take in the view. The building & grounds are just really something.

Dawn Perigo

Excellent pinot noir. Well, let's be honest, all their wine is good. Lovely tasting room near the crest of the hill with beautiful views. I highly recommend it.

Ian Reynolds

Amazing view and spectacular wine, and even better people.

Jeanne Sims

Ann was terrific. She took care of us. Great info and great wines. Try the rose. AAA++

NICKI Hill

Great view with wonderful staff

Shane Cox

Excellent view and friendly service. The Pinot Noir was amazing. Stop in and enjoy high quality.

Colette Robertson

The most beautiful winery that I have seen in the area. The wine is spectacular! We loved the Couer Blanc. This winery is a must see. The staff was extremely gracious and accomadating. Thank you for a great memory.

eve chao

We visited four wineries that day, domaine serene is without a doubt the best one. The building itself is gorgeous. the staff are professional, welcoming and knowledgeable about the wine. they well presented every wine on the flight menu and even gave us a bonus pinot noir. turned out that bottle is my favorite. The winery is full of surprises. The seating area on the balcony has magnificent view of the vineyard. also, don't forget to take a look at the basement. it looks like a mysterious dungeon yet it looks sophisticated. if you only have time to visit one winery in the area, don't hesitate to choose domaine serene. you won't be disappointed.

Beth Sanders

Beautiful grounds and delicious wine. It is on the pricey side, but worth it for the views and quality wine. A lot of the indoor property is reserved for wine club members and investors

Don Spear

Impressive tasting building and world class wine

Samuel Pryor

Great wine and professional tasting. Best view of any place we visited.

Vilija Jozaitis

This is by far my favorite winery in the Willamette. It’s beautiful on the hill overlooking the vineyards, very elegant, everyone was super nice, and the wine is probably the best we’ve had in the area. It’s kinda pricey but worth it. Love the wooly mammoth sculpture, too.

Aditya Shinde

Tom D

Beautiful facility and wonderful wine. The views are spectacular!

Stephen and Korrina Bell

You could spend weeks up in the Dundee Hills trying wine after wine, but if you head all the way to the top, you are greeted with gorgeous hillsides covered with grapevines, and a spectacular view of the Domaine Serene winery. The wine is phenomenal, and moving into the summer months, the views and landscape are spectacular. A perfect place bring people to catch up in conversation and drink some wine!

Gabriel Fernandez

Expensive wines nice place

Emily Anderson

Riley Miles

If you dont fit the stereotype of a wine connoisseur the staff will treat you poorly. Gorgeous property though.

Jason Semmes

World class Pinot & Chardonnay at a winery that will make you feel like you've been transported to the French countryside. An experience not to be missed.

Debbie Irwin

Love the place!

Zach

Helpful staff, beautiful wines

Mitch Andrews

One of the more "fancy" places in the Dundee Hills. Huge clubhouse with large tasting counter and lots of smaller private rooms. High quality highly rated wines with prices to match but worth the price. Beautiful views off the back patio and from the whole tasting room. Our host got super defensive towards a coworker when he tried to step in and help us order bottles after our tasting which was slightly awkward and leads me to believe they are working on commission for sales. Overall worth the stop but if you're looking for a small time hidden gem keep looking.

Alan Cohn

World class wines served by friendly knowledgeable staff in an equally stunning facility located in the unique Dundee hills of the Willamette Valley of Oregon.

Jaswinder Sidhu

Excellent winery! Exceptional staff and service. Was served by a french gentleman by the name of Alphonse I think. Very impressed. No tips on the receipt either. So take cash if you wish to tip them. The building is new. Don't miss the cave below. Beautiful views. Yes, great wines too. Going to be our regular haunt.

James Choca

Beautiful grounds, good service, and their pinos were delicious. A little more expensive compared to other wineries nearby, but that's understandable considering how lavish this place is.

amber riggs

Domaine Serene overdid itself again! Anne Scalamonti, VIP Customer Manager, provided us with exceptional and beyond extraordinary private wine tasting experience in the caves of their picturesque Clubhouse & Tasting Room. She took us around Oregon and through Burgundy by providing us highly rate Oregon and French wines. Domaine Serene is a gem shining just a few miles from Portland, OR. I am so ecstatic knowing that I could get top-notch wines so close from home.

Dawn Cales

Our favorite winery in Oregon!

Jennifer English

Amazing view, world class wine, pleasant hosts - memorable experience!
