I was here for a wedding, and the staff did a wonderful job. I would recommend this place for a small wedding venue because it was beautiful and well done.

We hosted our firm's annual party here earlier this year, and it was a fabulous venue for our 120 person event. From the twinkling lights to the mezzanine lounge, the house-made wines and the delicious sit-down family style meal, Coopers Hall exceeded our expectations. Shannan was friendly and helpful from the special dietary requirements to AV requests, tastings, coordination and setup- she was there through it all. I highly recommend this working winery for your next industrial-chic event!

A great venue for a wedding!!

Good wine selections, but bad services. Beside we each ordered a glass of wine and we got the same amount of wine as a tasting glass when we looked at other tables. Dinner for two was over $70. We walked away with a good tip on the table, but we won't go back again. Disappointing...unlike what our friends told us.

Amazing venue.

There are five star reviews for Coopers Hall sort of … everywhere, but I don’t know that all of them really show the level of professionalism, detail, and passion for their work that these folks exude. Not only would I have my wedding here again, but I am also looking for any excuse in the world to have another large event just so I can host it here (ideas welcome) ;-). We initially spoke with Shannan and then largely worked with Maegan throughout. The day of our wedding, it seemed like Sam ran the show. Sidenote: my friends who work in the industry couldn’t say enough about Sam’s personality and ability. That said, we met and chatted with, I’m guessing, all of the behind-the-scenes staff at Coopers. These people do SO MANY weddings and other events, but their work with us felt unique and absolutely genuine. They weren’t over-the-top, trying to show they care; they clearly just take pride in what they do, and care about human beings and celebrations in general. They’re all people you’d want to be friends with. This was priceless when planning a wedding, because stress amps up quickly, and they were not only never part of that stress, but a quick email to them, and they would dissipate any anxiety. I think of the time I messaged Maegan about family worries, and she essentially said, ‘We. Got. You.’ Another example is my aunt, who has a brain injury and a service dog, and they went out of their way to be welcoming and supportive of her and of him. I’m talking like…I didn’t want my alcoholic relatives to accidentally be served wine at a WINERY (I know) and they kept an eye out for me, without hesitation! Countless guests have told me that this was the very best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. One lovely thing Coopers does is they give you a tasting of the menu before the wedding, and it’s a beautiful event itself, with other couples, wine, and lots of food. It’s more a banquet than a tasting, and you get to choose your menu from that. The chef (Keith) even introduces himself and walks around, answering any questions you might have. They have special kids meals if you want, and all the picky eaters in our family DEVOURED them. They do batched specialty cocktails, much to the delight of all. Another thing. The SECOND our guests arrived, drinks were out, and apps were passed. The SECOND we needed guests to be seated, they were magically there. We (bride and groom) received our food almost immediately, so we could try to eat. Everyone had salad and bread right away. There were absolutely no mishaps the entire night. There wasn’t a sound glitch, a food glitch, a timing glitch, or a moment that the staff wasn’t top-rate. (We got to go to a three Michelin star restaurant on our honeymoon and honestly…Coopers staff would fit right in). A couple months later, and I’m still hearing from guests that this was the best wedding they’d ever been to, and we have Coopers Hall to thank for it. I’d encourage anyone to book them, unless it’s a date I want in the future, in which case…um…check out one of Portland’s other, less awesome venues, please! —— (Also posted to The Knot)

The service is superb, and their team is very friendly and professional. The atmosphere is like a garden in the summer. The drinks are good and fairly priced. The food selection on the other hand is limited, good quality but definitely overpriced for the small portion size. The parking is almost impossible too. However, I would go again for sure, and hope they bring back their Steak with Cherries.

Coopers Hall is one of the most magical venues + taprooms in all of Portland! We had the wedding of our dreams there and were absolutely thrilled with our experience. The food, drinks, and service were better than we could have imagined. Shannan was SO helpful throughout the whole wedding planning process too!! The space itself is stunning and created the most beautiful atmosphere. We are so thankful we chose Coopers Hall for our reception!

I had two recent opportunities to attend events at Coopers Hall. We hosted a birthday party for our boss in the barrel room, and I was also a guest for a fundraiser event. I attended these events within just a couple days of each other. Overall, its so refreshing to be in an event space where the staff is so passionate about food and drink! The Birthday Party had about 50 people in attendance, and our day of server (Ruth) was most attentive, and interacted with all the guest. She was very personable and professional. The fundraiser event for Gigi's Playhouse was a much different event. Love the family style menu which made for great interaction at the table. This space has a beautiful backdrop for photos, love the mix of industrial/garden decor, amazing light, and such a variety for floor plans! Shannan Shute and the event team asked all the right questions, and made this a truly memorable event! Now I cant wait to stop by for happy hour!

I recently coordinated a wedding ceremony where the couple celebrated their reception at Coopers Hall. Leading up to the event, I found the on-site team member Maegan Haynes to be helpful, courteous, and professional. It was a pleasure to work with her!

We had our wedding here and have absolutely nothing but GREAT things to say about it. The venue is gorgeous and doesn't need any extra design work, the food was delicious (all of our guests raved about it after the wedding), and the staff was so lovely to work with from the start of the planning to after the wedding! I loved the wine selection and the overall environment. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to get married in Portland.

Love this place! Great place to take your mother-in-law

Michele Bambach

Loved it. Went for a company party. They served chicken, beef, roasted root vegetables, salad. I could have made a meal out of the fabulous veggies alone, but everything else was great too.....' cept the beef....eh. Space was industrial cozy, ala Chip and Joanna; airy, warm. Totally would go again or do an event there.

Jon Parker

Great space with very friendly staff

Claudia Miller

We bike down to this lovely location and get our wine liter filled all the time. The prices are far and away better than other wine on tap places like The SE Wine Collective and Chill n' Fill. Keep rocking it you guys! We are happy customers

Matt McConnell

Elegant presentation, food is amazing, loved everything I had here.

John Kutasz

Lovely spot for wines served from taps instead of from bottles. It's a nice, airy, well lit space, with a small food menu designed to go well with wine. The atmosphere is enhanced by well placed speakers (Paradigms - Atoms, I think) playing a pleasant playlist at a level appropriate for the room. Excellent service capped off the visit. I'll be recommending this place in person as well, and look forward to coming back myself

(Translated by Google) There are five star reviews for Coopers Hall. You must go here if you love wine! If you're in Portland for the amazing Oregon wines and not the beers, this is your place! Cooper Hall is one of Portland's shops that you should definitely visit if you like wine. While having a craft heart, the shop has an elegant atmosphere. A tap of wine that looks like beer is a rare scenery. This is also an environmentally friendly activity, with the goal behind the store. Come for a nice night in Portland! We had an incredible experience having our wedding here! Shannan is a great coordinator and helped make our day very special. All of the staff are so friendly and their service was exemplary. The food and drinks offered were amazing - we received many compliments from our guests about the food and wine we served. The venue itself is beautiful and they allow a lot of flexibility with decorations and layout so we were able to completely customize the look of our tables/decor/etc. The CH team was great at working with our vendors and helping with coordination of so many details. Highly recommend CH as a wedding/event venue as well as a restaurant!

Oh goodness, where do I even begin! From an individual perspective, I absolutely love to come here for drinks or dinner with friends as often as I can. The menu, food, presentation and wines are all seasonally superb! The space is absolutely darling - industrial, rustic, chic with tasteful simple accents housed in a former ambulance hangar. This is hands down one of my favorite places to go whether solo, or catching up with a friend. From a company event / venue buyout perspective...wow! Just wow! Working with Shannan to put on a large company celebration with the short notice of only 3 weeks planning was a dream. Everything came out perfectly! Her team did a wonderful job to keep the event on track with our scheduled music, toasts, etc and the family style effect of dinner was fantastic. CH - Thanks for being awesome and for making Portland's urban winery and restaurant community extra spectacular!

huge place with dozens of taps for beer and wine. Also food

The building doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is really cute inside! They did a great job with making a cavernous indoor space feel like an outdoor garden, which I predict will be super-popular once the gray sets in for the winter. Friendly staff and lots of wine (and cider) on tap, including their own and well-selected guest taps.

Huge wine selection, and you can order it in small sample glasses, which is great if you want to try a few! We sampled some smaller items from the dinner menu too, all of which were delicious. A little pricey, but otherwise we had a great experience!

I've had the opportunity to work at Coopers Hall on a number of occasions and I am so thankful their venue and team exists in Portland. This venue is so well ran by a team of professionals and we have had nothing but positive experiences throughout each wedding we plan with their team and it is always a seamless process. They are communicative, take pride in their food and beverage and are very timely with all correspondence and we appreciate it so much. Looking forward to continuing to work at their space with clients!

Wait staff is amazing, and very helpful + knowledgeable about pairings. Food is amazing, and the wine selection is great.

I absolutely adored this place. We went back after the first time. The space is really cool and there are SO MANY WINES ON TAP. Service is also spectacular, we got some great recommendations from our waitress. I mostly just really liked how they had wine on tap. Also looked like a great venue for meetings and such. Didn't find it outrageously overpriced. Snacks were good too.

Charles Batty-Capps

The granacha wine is amazing. Happy hour prices are very reasonable. The fried cauliflower is so flavorful. The fish sammy is great and the fries are potatoey and herby. Will come again!

Love place, the wine...but you have to check the website every time, as they have private parties every weekend and are not open...defeats the purpose of this being a great spot if you can't go!

Neil Watson

If you're in Portland for the amazing Oregon wines and not the beers, this is your place! I love their approach to wine (it's all on tap with bottles to go filled as ordered) and think it is both innovative and refreshing. I particularly enjoyed their barrel aged Riesling - super interesting drink and now one of my favorites to bring to parties. I also adore the inside atmosphere of the taproom which is why it's often booked for weddings and other events. The hit-or-miss open to the public is the only downside. But if it's open and you're nearby, definitely stop in for a glass.

Muy poca variedad de oferta de vinos y menos de cervezas. Incómodo, frío por el aire acondicionado y en general nada recomendable. Les queda mucho para aprender lo que es una buena oferta de bodega.

Strange experience. We were well attended when we first got there, then seemed to be completely ignored for about 45mins until I asked the bartender if a server could come by. Not sure what the disconnect was since we were all ordering food and drinks. The server was otherwise very nice. The wine was not to my personal tastes, which is fine, but was served a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon that felt chilled. I think this is why it had a weird flavor, very odd to me. Never had cold red wine before. The venue is very pretty. Might try it again...

3rd time I have tried to go on a Friday and there has been a private event. No notice on the website that it was reserved. Probably going to give up at this point.

There aren’t words to describe how AMAZING this place is. I recently had my wedding here and I can’t say enough great things about it. The hanging plants, wine barrels and beautiful steel tanks make it gorgeous inside and is so open it accommodates a party of any size. The staff are pros at what they do and go above and beyond to make your day run smooth and fun. All the coordinators and staff were the definition of professional. Lastly the food, Oh. My. Goodness. The chef is incredibly talented and provided our guests with one of the best meals they’ve ever had. The bartenders and wait staff were so incredible. Our friends and family couldn’t stop giving us compliments about the space, staff and food and beverages. Our day was so fun and special in large part because of Coopers Hall. I would choose it a million times over if I had to do it again.

My husband and I got married at Coopers Hall in August 2018, and we cannot recommend the venue any higher! The venue doesn't need any additional decorations- the strung bistro lights, the floor-to-ceiling windows, the rustic wood barrels and the countless hanging plants make for the coolest blend of industrial tones with natural elements. The food is also delicious- the menu is seasonal and fresh and caters to all dietary needs. All the wines are on tap, which is both aesthetically pleasing and resourceful (there is a sign that showcases how many bottles have been saved from the use of the kegs!). And the wines are incredible! They have something for every type of wine drinker (plus beer, cider, and a full bar for those weirdo, non-wine drinkers). Finally, the staff is top-notch. The venue is rarely open to the public because they host SO MANY events. The staff's expertise executing events is evident in all facets of the planning process. They make everything a breeze- and we planned our wedding all the way from Chicago. Every detail was covered and the Coopers Hall staff truly exceeded our expectations. Because of them, our vision came to life, and we had the absolute best day of our lives! Book your event (of any size) here and you will be SO HAPPY that you did!

Massive winery and taproom located on the east side just off SE Grand. Cooper's Hall is a collaboration with AlexEli Vineyards (Molalla, OR), ChefStable, and Sommelier Joel Gunderson of Restaurant St. Jack. 30+ wines on tap (about 2/3 guest wine, the other 1/3 being sourced right from their own vineyard and then put into kegs, virtually cutting out the middle man) along with beer/cider and liquor. You can also take home growlers of wine, which is something I really have not seen done around town. The building is huge, like airplane hanger big. Big wine barrels occupy the space along one side, and large garage style shutters open for those nice warm days. There are two floors with an upper loft with seating above and more traditional seating below, some picnic style benches off in a corner, as well a long bar with seating. Small food menu (from the former sous chef at Racion) offering salads like Chicory with raisins, hazelnuts and basil vinaigrette; small appetizers such as clams (with bacon!) and pickled herring; and sandwiches (pulled pork with apricot and chamomile jam). I recommend my favorite, the whole rotisserie chicken, cooked 35 minutes till juicy and that is just fall off the bone. I'm not a super huge fan of wine, so its great that they offer local micro beers, and great cocktails. All around great atmosphere, though don't come hungry, come thirsty!

Corey Anson

They did a very good job at carving out a nice space inside this big building so that it feels like an outdoor patio, but without the exposure to the weather. Plenty of taps to choose from. The food also looks good.

Marco Morales

Matthew Noyes

The space itself is pretty awesome. The glassy facade opens up on warm nights to reveal a huge exposed vaulted space. It's been cleverly divided for an upper loft area and more dining intimacy near the bar, lighting is great creating a festive atmosphere. The wine is the star here, the bar proudly showcases it's 30 plus wine taps, so if you're into your wine then you'll be in heaven. We ate some snacks and a delicious dessert, the dinner menu seems very complimentary to the concept. Looks like a great place for a big party!
