Worst dinner ever! We never recived our drinks. My crab cake wrap was burn. My wife didn't even get her order. So we asked for it to go and it was raw. Worst service and food we have ever had! We will not go back and will not recommended to anyone. For $50 I would expect exceptional service and food not what we received!

If I could give zero stars I would but that you have to pick at least 1 star to write a review. Where do I start? Rubber chicken with shiny greasy fries? Hubbies gristle ribs with a dollar bottle of sauce poured over them? The restsurant's refusal to take off the charge for the pile of grease fries from my bill since sweet potato fries were an up charge? But hey they countered with taking off 10% of just the fries. Just the fries. Gross, disgusting food way overpriced. If you can't make good bar food, you need to pack it in. Will never ever ever go back. Hope this saves others from wasting a beautiful afternoon and their hard earned cash.

We went there today for a late lunch. There was hardly anyone there when we got there and they steadily for busier. We got our drinks fairly quickly but everything after that was slow. It took a long time for the waiter to take our order then it took an hour to get our food, 4 sandwiches, nothing complicated. In the mean time I asked for a refill on my water and the waiter looked at me confused. He never did get my refill. After one of the people with us finally went up to a manger they said they'd make sure our order was out right away. The waiter never put our order in. So we waited another 15 minutes at least. The manager brought my water. The waiter never came over to check on us. Never apologized. They never bright out the onion rings that we ordered and then one of the others I was with asked for the onion rings to be removed and the waiter didn't want to remove them. After finally speaking with the manager again they only charged us for our drinks but even that was a battle. And the food wasn't at all worth the wait. We should have left after the first 15 minutes because it wouldn't have taken any longer than that for the food. Incompetent wait staff and below average food and wine. We will never return here. They said they were short staffed but really an hour for some fried food is ridiculous especially when people who arrived after us were getting and finishing their meals before we even got ours. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Worst experience ever! They about ruined my birthday!!! :( the bartender girl was cold and rude to start. We sat down and after 15 minutes still had no service, so we got a menu ourselves . When I finally went and asked if it was self serve at the windows the waitresses literally argued in front of me as to who's table it was. I asked if we should just leave and one finally said she would wait on us. Service was terrible and super slow and we were her only... Only table. Food was all wrong. The queso is the nastiest thing I've ever tasted, and was cold on top of it. The waitress stopped coming back and we had to find her to get the bill after telling her almost 20 minutes before that we needed it. Completely ruined my experience and I never want to go back to Geneva on the Lake let alone that joke of a place again. Horrible.

TERRIBLE food. Ordered shrimp and it tasted super old and overcooked. Even the cheesey potatoes were awful. They brought us salads that were literally just lettuce. After digging for a few minutes I found a baby carrot. Crab cakes were straight outta the box from Sam's club... Like. Seriously. Don't do it.

Love this place! Very small and cozy. They have a great selection of wines. All of the people that work there are always very nice and willing to help you. They let you taste samples to help you make a decision. We have not eaten there yet but they have a pretty extensive menu of delicious sounding foods. I highly recommend this place!

The whole experience from start to finish was just bad. Our server, it was her second day, could barely speak English, no biggie, we worked with her on getting our orders in. Food came out cold, and orders came out wrong. Took a half hour to get drinks and the manager when told about the issues had the worst attitude, as if we were bothering him. Would not recommend. There's 10 different places just like this in the area. Go some where else.

Had an early dinner. Service was fine. Food was not at all worth the price. Portions were large. I had a Reuben which was not great and didn't have any sauce. My husband had fish tacos and again, no sauces. Location was great, enjoyed the view.

Won't be going back anytime soon. We have gone there for years and the service has been so so but always good enough. Brag to my friend how good the place was and me and my wife took him there on a day out our motorcycles. Sat down waiter came over and asked us if we wanted something to drink we ordered three beers. Came back took our order and we did not see him for an hour. asked him where our food was he said the kitchens behind I said well you haven't been here for an hour and he corrected me and told me 50 minutes. Then I said well you never even came back and asked us if we wanted something else to drink while we were waiting or even informed us that the kitchen was behind.. We told him to give us our check we were leaving we had other places we had to go. He didn't want us to leave he said he would comp us for our drinks I said no give us a bill we are leaving people have gotten here 30 minutes after us and they're already eating so I don't believe the kitchen is behind. Done with the firehouse.One-star because the entertainment was okay .Tried to contact them on messenger 2 times with no reply.

It is a shame that the service is the absolute worst and the food is just okay because they have the prime location for an amazing dining experience. We were there on a Tuesday at 1300 with maybe half of the tables being used and we waited 10 minutes for a menu and to order drinks. Had to wait another 40 minutes for food and finally our waitress came back with the check and then wanted to be nice to us and talkative. A 5 dollar tip for her was generous for a 50 dollar meal that was worse than McDonald's! Do not waste your money at this place. Plenty of other great spots on the strip with better food and management.

I wouldn't rave about the food for the price. The chicken sandwich was plain, they gave you a flimsy pickle, couple red onion slices and two pieces of lettuce that were hidden under the chips. They claim their chips and salsa are the best. My group would have to disagree. You have to order fries separately. The scenery is nice but the band was way too loud.

Would of loved to try the food, but we waited for service, most of servers were standing at counter talking. We asked for service and they said we needed to wait for our waiter and he was busy. We waited 10 min and then left.

No clean tables, sat at a dirty one gotcleaned after 10 minutes and girl did not say anything or answer menu tequest. Same girl them refused to talk to use or supply a menu but did to two tables behind us and even took their orders and brought drinks. We got nothing and left after over a half hour. No drink no food no menu no anything.

Beautiful spot - Terrible... everything else! Food and service were terrible. Overpriced, long waits, food is just plain gross. We weren't even served our entire order - nor did we receive any compensation for the mishap. No cutlery until the end of the meal - despite asking for it many times. Go for wine and music I guess, but trust me, NOTHING ELSE. The worst bar food - and I'm from a college town!

It took nearly 1 hr for our order (two burgers, chicken tenders, and a salad) to arrive. Meanwhile, we sat there...no drink refills, no waitress apologizing for the long wait. Food was okay...but service was terrible. We chose this place because we had our dog with us after hiking in the area, and they were one of the few to allow dogs on their patio. Would not go again.

The view is amazing, the food however not so much. Slow service, over priced, poor quality food. Not even served hot. The wine slushie is terrible. $7 for a thick disgrace of a wine slush. Couldnt even drink a full glass with out getting sick to my stomach! My mom had a few sips and was sick as well. This drink was no where close to a wine slushie. Judging by how dirty this place is inside I can only imagine how dirty the equipment is used to cook food and make drinks. Any place that its patrons get sick half way through a meal should be ashamed of themselves! Save your money and eat elsewhere highly DO NOT recommend!!

Best wine on lake Erie. When ever we have the chance to make a pit stop in Geneva on the lake we do which always includes some old firehouse wine. We ended up buying 2 cases of wine for our wedding :-D

Horrible service. The were around 12 employees just standing around doing nothing. It rained earlier that day and we had to dry off wet spots on the table. Took 20 minutes just to order a drink. There was 10 of us and there was only about 5 other tables of customers. The waitress just threw the napkins and individual sauces in the middle of the table and we had to pass everthing around ourselves. Granddaughters cheese soft taco was 3/4 taco shell with a tiny piece of melted cheese. French fries are soggy and limp. Ribs tough. Had to ask 3 times for ashtrays. Would not recommend this place to eat.

Have had some good and some not so good experiences here. After my visit last night I was prompted to leave a review. We ordered a bottle of wine, the wow fries, and the reuben dip. The wine was good as always, the fries ok, and the reuben dip was terrible. It tasted like luke warm mayo with chunks of un melted swiss cheese, we barely ate any of it. It isnt my job to complain about how terribly made your food is, its the job of the chef to put out quality product and management to verify that quality products leave your kitchen. 5 Stars for our server, No stars for the food. We may not be back

One of the most disappointing dining experiencse in my life. When we showed up, I said that we had 8 people that wanted to eat. One of the employees just rolled his eyes and basically said good luck. That's no way to treat 8 paying customers. Now, let's get to the dinner. I ordered a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and it was carbonated, which is just sloppy wine making. I also ordered the wings, which were the most disappointing and disgusting wings I'd ever seen. They were way undercooked and bland. I had them removed from my bill. My uncle ordered the "fisherman's platter" which consists of frozen fish planks and frozen shrimp. If you can't get good or even decent seafood in the area, don't bother putting it on the menu. The only good thing about the whole experience was our server. She was friendly, attentive, and apologetic. Really very disappointing, please get a new kitchen manager.

After reading some of the reviews it sounds to me that nothing has been done to improve the service/food. We went this past Sunday. I thought it was closed. I go in and ask the musician if they were open. He said yes but we were the only couple there other than him. Every time we have gone there in the past I noticed the service/food was getting worse. Last summer we were served a wine bottle that tasted like vinegar. We took it back and they gave us a new bottle. It tasted the same so we left. This was suppose to be the best of their wine....yea right. If you really want to know what's going on talk to their x-employees. Since we had that privilege and here r some of their comments: - They work us like dogs for the pay - The manager is more push the wine and food regardless of the quality - There is no future there - They new the wine hadn't fermented enough but they still began selling the wine which explains the vinegary taste. If I would disregard the comments by them there was another incident where I was eating upstairs. Two older ladies began to question us regarding the place. Come to find out that they were part investors of the Firehouse business or going to invest in the business. We pointed out what I wrote earlier. I'm not sure if they ever invested in the business but unless they make drastic changes I would not include this place in the winery tour. Yes every business needs to make a profit but if you go by the myth that everybody will go to a winery, think again. Your best advertising is "Word of mouth" and when asked, I send them to Debonne Vineyards (4.4 rating) vs Firehouse Winery (2.4 rating)

Pitiful! Poor management to allow one terrific waiter, Ted, to run his tail off while others stood around or moved super slow!! Waitstaff did not seem to be trained in trip consolidation. We did not punish our waiter for management issues. As far as food, my chicken wrap had a tiny bit of chicken and was 80% lettuce. Just pitiful to let a cool restaurant concept fall in the hands of poor management!

Cool setup and location. Why do we have fresh walleye and amazing farms with fresh produce all around but have to consume trash? The food is terrible and the reisling was crap. Where are the standards?! I'm so sick of Ohio and the shitty quality of life. I tried the nachos and I mean really? That is not beef and the salsa tasted like tomato sauce. The server really tried but was so foreign she did not understand what mayo was. It was super awkward bc every table around us was complaining to the servers and themselves. It doesnt help create a fun happy atmosphere when everyone around is unhappy. You have a sick ferris wheel that doesnt work. Invest in our area and the quality you bring into it or take your garbage ass business somewhere else!!!

Our family came up to stay with us at our lake house in Geneva and we went to lunch at the Old Firehouse Winery. As always, the view is great and it has such a wonderful atmosphere, however, when our steak and chicken salads arrived - there was ROTTEN mixed garden lettuce in them. We shared this with our waiter and a manager came over and said he would check on it. He NEVER returned! We never saw him again and he didn't even offer us new & fresh salads to replace these ones! You would think a manger would be concerned with health issues serving rotten mixed lettuce. Seriously!!! Our waiter eventually came back and said he could give us all 20% off or 50% off those that received the bad salads. This management team needs replaced or retrained! How unprofessional not to personally address the issues.

The wine was fine, the food was your regular greasy burger joint, and service decent... but someone that works for the Old Firehouse Winery overcharged my credit card. Damn shame too, because its a real nice location on the lake and I'll be back in the area again this fall... But this fall I'll be avoiding these thieves in favor of checking out one of the other places within walking distance ~!

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The food was terrible and the wine was mediocre at best. I got a Caesar wrap that I couldn't even pick up because it was so soggy and the two other people I was with got overcooked, tasteless burgers. We went on a hot day and were told they didn't seat people inside when there was plenty of indoor seating available. All in my party ended up sunburnt and still hungry when we left. The servers were clearly stretched too thin and couldn't take care of all the customers in a timely manner. We waited almost a half hour for a server to get our drink order in. We were just about to leave when he finally reached our table. We stayed but I wished we hadn't. If you enjoy good food and wine,this is NOT the place for you.

Waited 30 minutes for a menu then an additional hour to see our order given to another table. Not kidding. The other table was wondering why only 1/2 the people got their food and why they got an extra sandwich. The waitresses response..,"oh we're not going to charge you for the extra sandwich" instead of "maybe this isn't your order".....how was the food you ask? I can't tell you. We left.

First time there, will not go back. We were told to sit anywhere and a server would be with us. 30 minutes go by and two other tables sat down and were waited on before us. Then they bring only part of the food and no steak knife. They said they were so busy that they had no knives. By the time they could get me one, the steak was cold to the touch. I’ve have been to this winery several times over the years and I’ve always had a great experience. Seeing some of these bad reviews is startling so I thought I’d inform people about their system. I’ll start off with comments similar to “I waited 5-10 minutes for a server to come to my table.” Some people leaving these comments are so ignorant. So this winery is self seating, which means there is NO WAIT TIME to be seated so waiting 5-10 minutes to be greeted by a server is not bad at all when at other restaurants the average wait time just to be seated is 30-45 minutes. Just look around at the place you will see 100+ tables and then you’ll realize that you aren’t going to get a menu or get your table cleaned off in .2 seconds. There is also complaints about servers just standing sometimes. Well have you ever worked at a restaurant?!?!?! Servers have sections!! If servers just took random tables then the restaurant would fail. I’ve also seen complaints about long waits for food. Waiting at least 30 minutes for food at a restaurant is a good rule of thumb for any restaurants. So if you don’t have the patience for that then just don’t go out and eat at a restaurant. Also, I’ve seen complaints about the prices. People, this restaurant is in a vacation spot on the strip, don’t expect cheap food. Now let’s talk more about the servers/bartenders. So this winery does an awesome program where they house students from different countries to work over the summer along with other American students. You just have to have some patience and relax. A lot of the people working there have amazing heart warming stories. So just give this winery a chance. The people work hard, the food and music is good, and scenery is awesome!!

I went yesterday with my boyfriend and sister. We had the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Our waiter was slow we only ordered drinks . He never checked on us. Ever waiter and waitress was standing by the building just talking to each other. They weren't busy. Our waiter had NO personality. He didn't bring our checks, and when we walked up to pay, he looked at us like we were crazy. He didn't seem to know how to make change. We spent $30.00. What a waste of time and money. When my boyfriend went inside tp complain about the service, their response was "they (the people inside) were just bartenders and didn't know what to tell him"! WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!

I had to get up many times just to ask someone to take our order. Side salad had dirt and even a bug in it. I didn't say anything because we were having a family dinner and didn't want it to ruin the time due to my inlaws already were not happy with the service. My steak came out burnt and so much fat. Cheesy mashed potatoes were mashed potatoes with cold shredded cheese on top. More than one person has told me "Do not go there for food only for drinks".

We tried to get waited on and everybody said we weren't their table or their problem! Nothing we had was even remotely edible. Ice cold cheese, wrong meat, wrong bun, awful everything. Save yourself the stomach pump and eat anywhere else. This place should be condemned for health violations. It was so ridiculously awful it felt like we were on candid camera. Can't rate zero stars so I guess I have to give one. We come to the lake every year for the last 5 years. Don't know why but we always give this place another try. Food is always terrible. The service is the worst of anywhere I've ever been. Unbelievably slow. Took over 10 minutes this year after being seated to get a menu. We wanted to order food and take it with us back to our rental house. We were told by the waiter that we could not take food off premises during summer hours. I don't even understand that. What if we ate and wanted a box for leftovers? This will be the last year we give them a chance.

If you like your wine wildly mediocre and your wings soggy and disgusting every time you go out then this is the place for you. Make sure you set aside a couple hours when you come here because it’ll take that long to get any sort of food. Hate to be harsh but like... dang. I’ve been here multiple times to give it a chance and it’s the same result every time. Try one of the other numerous awesome places in the area!

Went here for my birthday with two friends and my boyfriend. Let me say it was phenomenal unanimously across the board. Seat yourself policy was nice, small yet very homey and cozy. Our waitress was quick and polite, very nice service. Food was amazing, cooked well and just tasty. Wine was a great extra. We all ordered the wine sampler which is delicious and well rounded. Gave you 10 options as well as a souvenir wine glass for only $10! Amazing deal for amazing taste. We will definitely be returning.

Great food. Live bands. We especially love their pink smash. One thing though, you can't take any left in the plastic container off the property. No open containers on the strip. They do have a personal size of the pink smash to take care of this. I've had people in my group 'fighting' over the cherries in the bottom. Be sure to stay for sunset as its always beautiful over Lake Erie. I have been there for multi-generational family dinners. My class reunion was held there, My wife's class reunion was held there. It's just a nice place to hang out, listen to the music, and relax.

The staff served up cold food, then offered the resolution we can "try to reheat it", "what do you want us to do". With so many great options in Geneva - save your $$$ and go to a different establishment.

Asked for a high chair several times and she finally brought it soaking wet. My steak was dry and over cooked even though I ordered it medium rare and my salad had a bell pepper with mold growing all over it. It was slimy. My shrimp also tasted like cardboard. On the bright side, you can walk down to the lake.

I just visited this restaurant for the first time and it seemed like a good idea since it’s right by the lake which in hindsight is it’s one and only positive attribute. WAY too expensive for plastic cups and cheap silverware. Be prepared to pay $10 for mozzarella sticks and almost $3 for “Queso” which is basically velveeta cheese in a tiny plastic cup. Food quality was so-so at best and the service was horribly slow felt like I was wasting my time during my vacation at this incredibly mediocre restaurant when I could have been enjoying my time outside and at our condo. Won’t be back, wouldn’t recommend wasting your time or money.

I attended a private event clambake at Firehouse Winery 10-5-13. The appetizers were nicely done: decent variety, wings were good, offered fruit. The bar was slowwww, ridiculously so. I had to wait 15 minutes for the one guy in front of me to get his drink, all the while the bartender did not even make eye contact or seem to give a crap that we were there. BTW, when I finally did get my Dixie cup of wine, it was barely palatable. I know it's Ohio wine, but, come on... It was a good thing the appetizers were decent, because it took about an hour and a half for the dinner to actually get served. The portions were generous, included corn, chicken and ribs. The clams, however, were a huge disappointment. They must not have been washed at all before cooking. Nothing like biting into a clam and getting a mouthful of grit - Ugh!!! Desserts were lackluster overall, but the brownie was decent. Oh, yes, and the clam bake was held outside. Fortunately we were enjoying unusually warm weather for October, so we weren't freezing. Unfortunately, about half way through dinner it started to pour - not just rain - seriously pour. The area where we were seated started to flood, so we dragged our table a little closer to the center of the tent. After re-seating ourselves, the coup de grace of the evening - one of my family members exclaimed that there was something crawling on her leg - turned out to be a maggot. Trying to see where it came from, we looked down, and lo and behold, maggots crawling EVERYWHERE on the brick surface under our feet. I mean everywhere. I gave one star because they deserved at least one because the food was very good! But the service is terrible! We ordered fries that never came and our server never got us anything we asked for. We had to ask for tarter sauce twice and never got it ended up going to the window for that and then we asked for a box and the bill and once again our server disappeared and we had to go to the window again! They told us they would tell our server... that was the problem and that did us no good! Don’t get me wrong we were very patient with them, waiting just became ridiculous! Once we finally got the bill we waited for her to come back, when she didn’t we went inside to pay and they told us we can’t do that and the server will get it at our table. We went back and waited another 10 mins and she still hadn’t come, so we went back in and finally the server came and found us inside and took it from us. Not pleased with our service at all and I will not be back.

Service is absolutely terrible, slow, inaccurate orders. The food is awful, the wine isn't good. The prices are way too high for the quality of the food. The fish was obviously premade frozen fish patties. Definitely don't eat here.

The extra star is for the entertainment value of how laughable the entire experience was. Half the wait staff and probably all of the kitchen do not speak enough English to understand what on earth was going on. At first we were like heck yea this place is taking exchange students or work visa people but..... If you're going to do that.... Don't just let them free. The wine is basically just grape vinegar. It's gross. We tried the chardonnay and Lake Effect. We tried adding ice. We tried pouring straight water in it. Gross. We specifically said no chips with the hummus because I am allergic to gluten. Came out with an extra huge basket of chips. The veggies that came with it was laughable. We laughed for 10 minutes. The hummus itself was decent. The view of the lake was nice. The live music was nice. That's really all. I'm glad we ordered so little.

A fun atmosphere. The dry wine is not good. I hear good things about the sweet wine. The sunsets are amazing though, being on the coast of Lake Erie. The sunset bar seems to be a valued expansion with more drink options.

I have never written a review in my life, but I couldn’t resist! Tempted to give 2 stars one for the patio and one for the unbelievable entertainment this provided us. My husband and I visited yesterday and sat on the beautiful patio! That being said, we had front row seats to watch the waitress and 2/3 of the cooks eat off of peoples plates for nearly an hour! Furthermore the cooks were wearing their gloves while handling money/tip jar and pulling garbage cans. NEVER CHANGING THEIR GLOVES. One of the cooks was rolling the food slicer over the garbage can while talking to her friends. We were dying! The health inspectors would have a field day here!!! I’ve never seen anything quite like it!

We decided to go here even though a lot of reviews advised against it and we had a pretty good time. The drinks were cheaply priced and the atmosphere was light and fun. Our server was also very friendly and fast. The view was gorgeous and the band was good. The food wasn’t great and it was kind of pricey, but we didn’t really care because we were winery hopping all day and just wanted a snack anyways. We got the $10 souvenir pitcher and it was loaded with cherries, which was a fun surprise. We also went around 1:30 pm so it wasn’t very crowded. I would give this place a chance if you’re winery hopping or hanging out at Geneva on the Lake.

Steak way undercooked, cheesy potatoes were cold. Music...meh, too loud. Beer was good, shrimp skewers were good. Salad was great, coleslaw was mush. So, get the salad and shrimp skewers and have a couple 32 oz beer....the band wont matter.

They have some awesome wine and some pretty good food. If you get there at the right time in summer, you can enjoy Vidal Ice Wine in a slushie form. This pairs well with what they call "Fries WOW!" which is pretty much everything that is found on nachos on top of fries instead of tortilla chips.

Only go here for the wine and the giant salads. The rest of the menu is sandwiches and bar foods. The seating is mostly out door with no real view. Service wasn't great, but not terrible. Gone here twice for music during the week, which has been decent.

I had a great time here! Our server was super nice and really sweet. The live music the band was playing was amazing and I couldn't keep myself from dancing and singing along. They played Rock 'n Roll, Country and Jazz music and everybody seemed to like the music aswell. I saw happy faces all around. We had a special order for vegetarian nachos and everything worked out just fine. Later into the night we all watched the most beautiful sunset Lake Erie had to offer. Special thanks to the kind server. I'm sorry my family was so needy. You did a great job! Somebody give that girl a golden badge and a salary increase

French fries were good Perch were pre breaded fast food junk. I got a sandwich with 2 pieces of fish. Bun was only big enough for one piece of fish. Wife got perch dinner with 3 pieces of fish and small Cole slaw. No bread. Sandwich was $10.00 and dinner was $20.00. Will never go back. Bad lighting at night. Could hardly see to eat.

Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced anywhere. It took 20 minutes to get a draft beer that was awful and one hour to get our sandwiches. Only 3 of the 4 sandwiches showed up and no coleslaw was included, and the food was just OK. Definitely first and last visit for me.

Went for dinner. Simple but varied menu. Good food. Really liked the chips and the blue cheese and bacon chicken sandwich. Live music was great. The heat lamps were also nice. Servers were nice and service was quick. Would recommend to everyone.

Latex Glove! True Story. We ordered chips and salsa and a huge seasoned piece of a latex glove in our chips! It looked like an entire finger from the glove. So we spoke to the manager about how disappointed we were and I quote she said ,"Well, it was just a latex glove!" and began to defend her poor service. That quote was said numerous times throughout the night by our friends to try and make light of the situation because it sounded so ridiculous LOL The atmosphere is the only thing that keeps this place going. It is a shame because it has the potential to be a better place. They should stop serving food and just serve wine.

We were at Firehouse on Saturday night to listen to the band. We were there for three hours and not once did anyone come to our table to ask if we would like to order anything to eat or drink. If we hadn't gone and got our own bottle of wine we would have sat there all night with nothing. This is not the first time this has happened to us and we have seen it happen to other customers as well. If it wasn't for the band we would never come to your winery because of such poor treatment you get. We don't see how you can run a business and be successful this way! You need to hire a better staff or more.

The Firehouse Winery was fun. On the Lake Erie shore in Geneva on the Lake, music by Todd on Monday 7 to 11pm. He's a great one man band. Wine is excellent, beer also available. Food is good also, we will definitely go again. Beautiful sunset view.

This place is a personal favorite of mine! The wine is amazing and the atmosphere is second to none! My grandfather was a firefighter for 34 years and frequented here (he even has his Austintown Fire Department patch hanging up there). This is truly a place that honors those who sacrifice for the good of society. For that, this place has a special place in my heart!

I was startled by the bad reviews of this place. I've been 3 or 4 times in the last two years and have always had a great experience. Wine is okay but I haven't had an Ohio wine floor me in general, food has been amazing. Big steaks, ribs falling off the bone, flavorful crab cakes, haven't had a bad meal yet. The service can be a little chaotic but it's obvious they hire a lot of first-job-kids over the summer so it's understandable. There's been good live music every time I've been. Sitting outside while a band plays and you've got a bottle of wine on the table isn't a bad way to wait for a meal, lighten up folks.

Most of the food we received was inedible. The crab cakes ($19) were straight from a box. The cheesy potatoes were not cheesy at all and were cold. The salad consisted of whole leaves of lettuce that I literally rolled up and dipped in dressing (since no knives were given). We ordered the meat and cheese tray, which came with stale saltines still wrapped in their packaging. Also, our server paid little attention to our table and hung out with his friends for the remainder of our stay. I will most definitely not be returning here.

You know the food was good. The only problem was it took OVER an hour to get to our table. The band was fun and I really wish it just would have had better service. I'm really sad it turned out this way, we have had much better experiences in the past. Unfortunately I would no longer recommend this place. We were given a 50 percent reduction on the total check, but I sat hungry for a long time.

Poor attitude of the wait staff shows through. No one seemed to want to be there. Ordered a cheese burger. Received a Costco frozen patty and some stale tortilla chips. Disappointing considering it cost $12. My wife paid $2 extra for fries with her meal. Apparently, we were paying for quantity and not quality. They filled her basket but the fries were a bland, cold, over salted mess. Their wine and beer is also sub standard especially compared to other places in the immediate area. Give this place a pass. I'd rather go hungry than go here again.

My wife and I have been there several times over the years. The food has always been better than average. The outside seating is nice especially if you have kids. The live music entertainment is better than average. The scenery is wonderful. The really bad drawback is the service. We were there Saturday afternoon for over a half hour before someone came to serve us. She was polite, but we had already made other plans and our two parties left for another establishment. Still a good place to visit.

What an awful way to end a great weekend with my friends. Ate dinner there and end up in the hospital with "a virus most commonly caused by food" I haven't eaten out in over a week, I have personally cooked all my own food including this past weekend. We decided to eat out just one night and I am sick I end up in the hospital. I call TWICE to let them know and I don't even get an apology. I get excuse after excuse. I get a call back with a voice mail with more excuses on how it isn't their fault and they can offer me a gift certificate. WHAT? I am not coming back. I missed a party for my great niece, I missed work Monday and end up in the hospital (those bills should be fun) and I get offered no apology and a gift certificate. UM NO THANK YOU! Maybe I should have read reviews before we ate there, then I would have known better.

Horrible experience here. The staff was so rude as soon as we were seated. Finally after 10-15 minutes we had a server assigned to our table from another section. We were all ready with drink and food order. No special orders just one person didn't want bacon on her sandwich. One person in our party was brought there food then 15 min later the other five orders came out. Still missing one order after awhile I walked down to ask for the manager because our waitress just kept making excuses like the service was normal....in between that time she never brought refills either. When the staff finally found the manager I tried to explain to him what was going on but instantly he was on the defense. I told him where we were seated instead of coming to the table he badgered me with questions like "they all have name tags, you don't known her name?" -"well is she black or is she white?" and finally " what would you like me to do comp your meal or something?". Keep in mind he was doing this in front of the whole restaurant while the staff laughed and rolled their eyes. I figured I was talking to a wall so went back to my table and told him when he had a solution to come see us. All the food was there finally. Then 10 -15 min later no sign of waitress or manager I walk down to get out bill and leave when again run into the manager and just calmly asked for our bills so we could leave BUT the waitress felt the need to call us B****es! Skip to us walking out the manager did not make us pay which is not what I was ever looking for and apparently fired the waitress who then chased half of my party into the parking lot yelling and had to be taken back inside. I really hope the owners read these comments because in all my years of working at restaurants NEVER have I whiteness such a disaster. From management to front counter this place needs some serious help. From reading the other reviews it seems owners must not take the business very seriously if this is still happening. I will make sure to tell everyone I know how horrible this place is.

The 2nd & 3rd stars are for the patio setting on the lake & the bands on the stage. Otherwise it’d be 1 Star. The setting on the patio is beautiful. The food is good enough and prices for adult food are relatively fair. The kids prices are crazy—$8 for 2 little quesadillas and fries—and you can’t sub veggies in place of the fries. The worst part, though, is the service staff. Many of them are very confused, although friendly, and speak very little English. The beer selection stinks. The wine is okay.

Tried to show my husband the place after we eloped in October... sat in the sun for 38 minutes without a waitress even asking for a drink order or giving us menus. There were only about 4-5 tables of guests and I saw at least 4 waitresses. Ended up leaving and going elsewhere. Wrote a message to the company on facebook and didn't even respond back to me. Not the first time I received bad service either and it was only my third time there. Food is overpriced and not great. Super disappointing because it is beautiful there. Just horrible service.

I worked in the kitchen outside for 4 days when I was in college. One of the other cooks dropped a bunch of chicken tenders on the ground, picked them back up, and threw them back in the fryer. When I looked at her, she said "The boiling oil kills the germs." I walked up to the owner, told him, and quit. There would also be flies on food and ingredients. I guarantee people have eaten flies and numerous other bugs with their food there. That is what you get when the majority of your workers are classless white trash. I don't know how that kitchen isn't condemned.

Horrible. I have been here at least 8 times. After the first two, none of the subsequent visits were my choice. Wine is horrible, no beer selection, food is downright bad and service is worse. The fruit wines were the only ones we could stomach. It is a great location and outdoor venue for music however.

I hope the owners, managers and employees of the Old Firehouse Winery read these reviews and take the messages seriously. For over 10 years I have been a customer and enjoyed the wines and food provided by them. While my experiences have varied from excellent to poor, I take into consideration that people aren't perfect. As I sit at their establishment, it appears that most of the staff are college students working a "Summer Job". This in itself invites problems related to inexperience and lack of dedicated attitude, both of which are required to provide consistent quality service. I hope the administration of the Old Firehouse Winery starts to be more selective in their hiring practices and sees the value in retaining experienced employees. It is understood that the entire Geneva On the Lake attraction is highly seasonal but that's no excuse for providing unacceptable products and service. As a returning customer, I will be on the lookout for improvements and hopefully will be impressed with what I see this year. In closing, I want to say: "Without customers, you aren't in business" Most people will only give an establishment one chance to create a lasting impression.

The service was terribly slow. I asked for more water and finally took our plastic cups up to the bar area where there servers standing there, and asked for water. The food was incredibly average and over priced. I asked the waiter for tartar sauce and he never came back. Sad to say that this is just a seasonal tourist trap. We won’t fall for this again. Very disappointing.

I worked here in 95 and had the best summer of my life. I've gone back a few times and it's always awful. Different kitchen group back then, but winery ownership seems the same. I don't know what happened, maybe I just didn't know any better, and it was awful then to. Can't recommend it to anyone, even though I wanted to.

This is literally the worst wine I've ever had. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law went there a few months before us and told us it was not good at all. We figured they didn't really know what they were talking about. Well, they did. We bought couple of tasting trays and we're about 6 wines in between 4 of us and decided to just try to do shots with the rest. We couldn't finish it, and there the rest away. Just not good wine at all. I couldn't tell you about anything else because we didn't last long. Hard pass.

We spent the day today(9/25/16) at Adventure Zone and drove around on a golf cart...it was our first time in the area. We had three children with us(ages 2, 5, and 9). When we were leaving, one of the boys suggested we go to the place with the band outside by the lake for dinner. We had noticed that it said kid friendly menu so we agreed. When we arrived, roughly around 6:55pm, the bus boy was our only encounter with a staff member bc I approached him. I asked him about getting a highchair and he was very friendly and brought it to our table and we asked specifically if it mattered where we sat. He said no so we chose a place near one of the fire lanterns. We had to find a menu on another table, which wasn't a big deal, which we did after sitting for five minutes. We watched the band for a while and they were great. After about 10 more minutes, the bus boy was in the area and I inquired about a kids' menu. He said they didn't have one but told us about the two options for kids. Again, very friendly. We waited another 15 minutes and still no one greeted us at our table. Meanwhile, the table next to us had been cleared and sat again and a waitress was right there within a few minutes. Perhaps we were sitting in the wrong place at the wrong time. After 35 minutes total, we left. We had over an hour drive home, hungry kids, and kids that are well behaved, but can't be expected to sit that long of a time without even taking our orders. It is a very cute place. Nice, cozy atmosphere, good live music, but no idea if the food is any good or not bc we never got to find out. I have never taken the time to write a negative review for any place, but I thought that this was warranted. As we were looking around, there were several waitresses standing near the building, but none even glanced our way. I'm not sure what the hold up was. It was hard for me to rate it one star, but that was my only option in order to write a review. When I got home, I looked up reviews online. Sadly, it sounds as the slowness is a common practice. Maybe in the future we'll try it out again when we have plenty of time set aside and aren't super hungry when we get there.
