A great local winery that provides a nice environment, solid local entertainment, and very good wines. We had a bottle of Emma's blush and sat inside. My only criticism would be that we wish there were screens on the windows of the winery so that we could hear the entertainment while staying inside. We had just been eaten alive by mosquitoes at the South River winery and didn't want to risk the bugs again, although maybe they treat their deck and surrounding area because a lot of folks were outside. The bartender was very informative and friendly as we sampled.

One of my favorite Ohio wineries. It is a must stop when we are in Ashtabula County. Lots of nice reds and whites, from dry to sweet, plus awesome dessert wines.

Update after most recent visit 6/15/19; original 5 star review and comments remain true:...Nothing in particular stands out, just very good quality all around. Nice indoor area, nice patio and nice outdoor views of the vineyard. Very good wine and snacks. Staff always seems the happiest and friendliest of all the area wineries.

I was shocked by the behavior of the owner of this establishment. Within 10 seconds of walking in, the owner told us that "our night was over" because we walked in from a shuttle with wine. Instead of informing us of this policy and politely asking us to pour out the wine, the owner yelled at us and called the shuttle to come back. We bought his wine (along with others on our shuttle) and he continued to make a scene and ultimately poured out the wine we all bought. There are plenty of other beautiful wineries in this region with very friendly owners and staff - this is not one of them.

Very good wine, served in a well appointed setting. Food-wise, you may need to eat on the way. They serve cheese boards and the like, but mostly light food to accompany the wine, instead of meals accompanied by wine, if that makes sense.

This is the second time we've been here. Last time we were here in the summer and blamed the slow service on the high volume of the season. We were surprised then that they were understaffed and that the food took so long. However, this time we were here in the winter and they only have one worker. She had to get through everyone with their wine tastings before she could even begin to prepare our food order. people kept walking in our order was delayed and delayed and delayed. This is not to stop that The Lodge should include around lunchtime on their wine shuttle, specially not at lunchtime when people need to eat before going to other wineries.

Stopped in for a few tastings with a friend. Mostly we came for the wine slushies we had heard of since we were melting from the heat outside. The slushies were delicious. The staff was nice and the atmosphere was welcoming. Would definitely revisit this place and stay longer in the future.

so we were having a good time until the owner came along. my kids were just being kids and playing corn whole. they were standing on a fence just to take a picture for me and he yelled at us saying we were climbing and wrecking the place which we weren’t. so my kids were playing tag and left something and he yelled at us for “leaving trash” which my kids picked up and threw away and he still yelled at us. he is a very grumpy man and needs a relax . so pls do not come to this place if u want to have fun :) owners a trash bag don’t come here ever

I am writing this review because I will not be going to Kosicek Vineyards. I have never been to the Geneva area, so I am planning a birthday trip with family to visit wineries. I called Kosicek to notify that I will have a party of 15 people, and to ask if I need a reservation or call ahead. Mind you, I am calling 48+ hours in advance as courtesy. The worker then asked what it was for, and then promptly continued to say that if there was any problems or "rowdiness" that I will be asked to leave the establishment and she has taken down my phone number to give to the owner if there are any problems. I have never been treated this way by someplace that I have never even been to. I then went to google reviews to see feedback and it seems that people have had severe issues with the owner. You have lost my business. Looks like there are a lot of other vineyards all around you that may know what customer service looks like.

I did not enjoy this place for a moment. I enjoy going around with my best friends to wineries for new wines and experiences. This place was embarassing. After laughing with my girlfriends during an obvious day out, after samples split between the three of us, we were cut off completely. This was insulting and I will never return because they do not seem to cater to anyone younger then 50. the man that has threatened to take pictures of our licence plate to report us. Apparently he does not understand what a fun night out after work is. He threatened us after one review was posted. This was the most immature and horrible experience ever. If your looking for a afternoon out with friend, I do not recommend this place at alI. I will gladly tell all my friends to avoid their business. This was a rude experience. I will never return.

Wow what an experience. My self and 2 coworkers were touring the wineries Sunday, I said we will make Kosieck our last stop since this is my wife and my favorite winery in this area for the past few years and have had allot of good times there. So as we are leaving I get the unfinished bottle of wine corked so I can take it home as the 3 of us are walking out the door one of us had her wine glass in her hand, Tony the owner, starts in a very loud voice is yelling and I mean yelling " YOU ARE STEALING MY WINE GLASS" the girl with the glass in her hand had no intention of stealing a glass. It was a innocent mistake. It is a shame his first words were "your stealing" this is a pretty pre-conceived accusation, Especially since my 2 friends are black. His accusations that a glass was being stolen taken by my friend he doesn't trust them. As you can imagine one of my friends did not take to kindly to this accusation and got right back in his face, words were exchanged with Tony. As we were leaving Tony was taking pictures of my car for some reason. There is a much better way to handle a situation like this such as saying "excuse me but we do not allow wine glasses out in the parking lot. I'm sorry to say we will not return to this winery ever again an we will make sure to inform as many people as we can of this situation. Sorry Tony your actions have really hurt your business reputation that you have worked so hard to build. Unfortunately I do have to give 1 star to be able to post this review. Tony if you would like do discuss this leave a message here and I will call you.

We love this place. Very peaceful and relaxing. Some of the best wine in Northeast Ohio. Highly recommend the Chancellor and the 534. The 534 is sweeter but not grape candy sweet. This place probably has the best Concord wine in the area.

Ok so why didn't I know about this place? Apparently they have been around about four years. What a pleasant surprise stumbled on it last night while on a wine day with the wife. Very simple from outside but what a great little winery once you walk in. Love the selection of sweet all the way to dry so everyone will have a choice unlike some others places. Love the fact they offer an Oak barrel aged Chardonnay and also a stainless aged no oak option. Saw this at finger lakes and what a good option to have the stainless. If you are hesitant about Chardonnay like I am the no oak is a must. The grape has such a nice simple flavor that gets lost which the oak. I generally do dry reds but after a whole day out wine hopping I was all redded out (is that a word ). So we tried the traminett what a nice surprise. If your tired of always drinking rieslings then try the traminett not overly sweet and not super dry. Apparently according to the owners they just won first place for their version cudos. Unfortunately we did not try any others but will be back I heard some like the 534 red. We will also have to stop back and try some of the food selections though not large looked very good as we watched others eat. I have to mention the band selection for the evening we went, what a great choice. Flannel planet new to Cleveland area plays a high energy 90's show do not miss if you see them around. We were so pleasantly surprised and glad to finally see a winery that took a chance and had a band that did not play the standard winery music as others do in the area. Can't tell you how sick of mustang sallie and Janice Joplin we are . We loved the fact they went out on a limb which tells me a lot about the winery we will undoubtedly be back. Thank you Tony and Mauri for a great night on and yes Anthony. You cannot go wrong with Kosicek so don't hesitate to visit.

gorgeous location in the rolling hills of the grand river valley. the wine was outstanding and definitely part of the new wave of ohio wineries that are moving away from cloyingly sweet wines. the reds were all across the flavor spectrum, but all were on point and full-flavored. the owners are wonderful friendly people with a deep passion for wine and conviviality. they're located a short walk from a newly built woodsy cabin community. a perfect place to spend the weekend enjoying wine in a bucolic setting. highly recommended!!
