So a couple of months ago my wife and I stopped here after a festival that was in the area. We had a good time and thought it would be fun to take the 2hr trip back here with 2 of our friends one weekend. We did and it was a terrible decision. We were pretty much greeted with rudeness and that should have been a sign of what was to come, but we weren’t going to let that ruin our day. Another terrible decision. We did a the wine tasting which was fine and wanted to hang around and have a few glasses on the patio before heading back home. Terrible decision number 3. After about an hour and a half when we were getting ready to have one final glass and head home, my wife and our friend were informed pretty nastily that they nor I and other friend could buy any more. The lady then informed us that she had eyes in the back of her head and we should have been cut off earlier when we reached our limit. First and foremost, no place in there does it say there is a limit and secondly 3 glasses, which is the most any of us had, is definitely not excessive. Well needless to say we were over this place at this point so before we headed out I had to pick up a case of wine I ordered online. They lady at the cash register took care of it and called for them to bring in my wine. A lady brings it down on a cart from the back and the cashier shows her who the wine goes to. At this point the lady literally looks at me from about 4 feet away shoves the cart at me and turns and walks away. This was the moment that I realized that I was done with Duplin Winery as a whole. The case of wine that I bought for us will now just be used as gifts or given away because we won’t drink it. My wife has been drinking the same Duplin wine for years but I told her we can find her an alternative. I have never once posted a negative review about any place and usually just let this stuff roll off my back. When that lady shoved that cart at me, a paying customer, it struck something in me that I have not been able to shake off. My only advice to Duplin is to hire people who enjoy their job, or it may cost you more customers like my wife and I in the future.

Placed an order online around veterans day. Go to pick it up and they are out of stock. This has happened twice.How can you sell something that you don't have in stock. But you better believe they sure got the payment for it as it has posted on the credit card! If that isn't poor customer service I don't know what is.And they are saying it is back ordered??? Won't be seeing me again!!

Lunch in the Bistro eas delicious we signed up for a wine tasting after and was put in the 3:45 group . I was handed a beeper and told to come back when it went off. The beeper never went off so at 4PM I went back to checkin and asked if group was called . The lady said that group was at the production site. My response was why were we not told that when we checked in? The what I assume was a new person by not being able to look up a Heritage member never told anybody that group was at other site down the roadbecause there were others still waiting there too. I wll go back you can be sure I WILL make sure next time where tasting will be. I give Bistro 5 stars but the African American older lady at check in 2 stars.

We stopped at Duplin Winery and was so impressed with the informative and thorough wine tasting. This included a refreshing glass of wine, homemade dip and baked crackers. It was a wonderful experience. We purchased a case if wine and received a 20% discount. Would highly recommend this stop on your way to Myrtle Beach.

I adore Duplin Winery! For several years my family has purchased Duplin Wine and now that I live only 40 minutes away from the Winery, I finally decided to do the tour and tasting on my birthday. My family and I had a wonderful experience. Learning about the company and touring the facility was incredibly interesting. The wine tasting was wonderful! We tried about 14 different wines, all of which were great. I ended up buying four bottles... the Blackberry, Burgundy (for my dry wine loving husband... it was not my personal favorite, however!) Carolina Country and Midnight Magnolia. It was hard to narrow it down to only four! Plus, they give a military discount! I highly recommend stopping in! The people are so friendly, the wine is delicious, and it's a fun thing to do on a weekend.

I'm reading between the lines but all you people are throwing around one star reviews because you are in the habit of hanging around drinking near closing time. Lord knows these people want to close up and go home. I asked that the wine be carried at our store out of state where I am a certified specialist of wine and thank goodness we have it. Just sold a bottle. We have a lot of requests for Duplin Cellars wine. Y'all behave yourselves and you'll get good customer service.

I had an amazing time at the Duplin Winery! The hospitality was excellent and the overall atmosphere was nothing short of perfection. My mother and I went on the tour and tasting , which was only 10$ per person ! We also purchased a case of wine ( 12 bottles for 80$) at a much cheaper price than at our local grocery store. They also have a cute and delicious little restaurant on site. It was a little bit of a drive for us... but SO WORTH IT!

This is a great place to relax. If you come for a bite to eat or a glass to unwind, you can do both!! The staff is always great and welcoming. We are club members since 2013. We came for a visit and we wanted to take it home, so we could continue the experience. Come out and enjoy!!

I had a Groupon for 2 deluxe wine tastings and we totally enjoyed ourselves. Picked up some wine, and some awesome relish to mix with cream cheese. We ate at the Bistro and the grilled pimento cheese sandwich with bacon and pickles....yummm!

We had an awful experience at Duplin. We attended a tour and a wine tasting. Our guide's name was Peter, and he was from Myrtle Beach. Not only was he incredibly dry, but he was so rude to the guests. He told my wife to "put on her big boy pants" when she handed me her glass as she did not like the wine she was tasting. He said that Duplin is not a snooty winery but his attitude gave us a completely opposite representation of the winery.

He was so knowledgeable about Duplin and all of the wines there, and was able to easily answer all of our questions. Visiting Duplin (in Myrtle Beach) was one of the highlights of my vacation. It is absolutely beautiful and the staff was amazing. I to went the wine tasting twice! My parents and I purchased a case of wine plus a few extra bottles and my cousins bought two cases. This is a great winery if you like sweet wine. It is worth the $10 for the deluxe wine tasting!

Nice, relaxed lunch. Beautiful surroundings and excellent food. Check out my plate - this is only half of a po' boy and half the fries. Shrimp were fried well and sauce topped it off with a hint of a kick. I recommend the grape hull pie too. First time I'd ever tried it. Interesting and yummy.

I am go glad this family has cotinued to build up this winery and it's cafe/bistro eating place into another generation. They are really the only sizable winery keeping traditional eastern NC type wines alive. Real NC wine uses local native grapes that make sweet very fruity wine. Not gourmet but fun and true to the region and its history. The cafe food also very good.

Fantastic! The tour was just me and my mom, and the tour guide was great and very personable. The tour and the tasting were free, so I recommend tipping the guide. The wine is only muscodine wine and it was the first time either of us had any, but it was delicious. We ended up with 3 bottles for $40. The bistro around back is also exceptional yet very reasonably priced - not average winery prices. Overall it's fairly priced and a great detour from travel!

Haven't been to the Winery in over a year BUT I do get the wine delivered to me in California!! Moved to Cali last November and can not find ANY wine that compares to Duplin Winery..a little sad we moved to 'wine' country and there is nothing like Duplin Wines out here. Love the Muscadine grapes and the staff was always awesome the couple times we traveled to North Carolina..Great Job Duplin!!

This is my FAVORITE winery! I travel to the Myrtle Beach area around Christmas time each year, and I always have to stop, either on the way down, or on the way back, or BOTH! The folks who work there make you feel right at home, whether you're tasting, shopping, or touring their production facility. It's very hard to pick just one favorite wine from Duplin, so I always come home with a case!

Great floor layout. They have a gift shop and a bar where you taste test a variety of wines. They even make their own fudge. The bistro is next door. The prices are not to crazy expensive. However it is cheaper to get a bottle of wine versus a glass. The atmosphere is country home feel. They do offer a military discount. They are roughly 40-45 minutes from Richlands, NC. It's worth the drive to take that special someone on a surprise date.

Had the most wonderful day at Duplin! Weekend in Raleigh, main objective was to visit Duplin winery. Our very knowledgable guide Bruce helped us along every step! After the tour we went in and Bruce directed us to our tasting seats at the bar, tasted the fabulous wine,joined the club and received the special package upon leaving with all our goodies! We tried to eat in the bistro but it was so busy, we just went back for the glass of wine and shopped. Can not wait to come back again. Thank you Duplin family for such a great experience. We did the $10 per person wine tasting. We had to wait for about twenty minutes but that gave us time to look at the gift shop. For $10 you get to sample ten wines,have crackers and cheese spread,get a full glass of wine at the end(of your choice) and you can take your wine glass home as a souvenir.The gentlemen hosting the wine tasting was friendly and informative. We will stop by again since it's not a long drive from the Raleigh area.

Re: Cole Collins review Im sorry for what happened to you guys. I really wish you had read my review written 3yrs ago (its still here)prior to going to Duplin. My husband and I were treated so poorly we could hardly believe it and we vowed to never buy another bottle. After our experience, we contacted the manager whom "seemed" apologetic and promised to get to the bottom of the problem. We were offered a case of wine which we declined as we wanted nothing else affiliated with Duplin. All we wanted was for them to train their staff on how to provide customer service so the horrible experience we had would not happen to anyone else, but I see that didnt happen.

It was my first time at a wine tasting and i LOVED it, the price was great, For just $5 i got to sample 13 wines and received a complimentary wine glass after. They are more so sweeter wines and that's fine with me! It was not really a tour but you can watch them while they bottle the wines which was cool. You sit at a bar with a bunch of other people and you sit while someone talks to you about the wines and serves you. They have a bunch of things at the shop for you to take home if you wish and you can buy any of the wines you tasted. The prices can not be beat. My favorite wine was the sweetest one which is called Sweet and it only cost $7.99, I highly recommend Duplin Winery. I had a great time.

Wow! What a sweet place to kick back and enjoy a delicious and savory glass of wine. The tour was so much fun with Bruce, not only was it FREE but he gave us great detail to the muscadine grapes and the precious history of Duplin Winery. Carol and Eric greeted us with such cheer and made our experience tons of fun!! Hatteras Red is the first wine that I ever tried over 10 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. Duplin Winery has always been on my bucket list and I am truly the happiest girl on the earth after having witnessed where it all began! The wine tasting experience was fabulous and the staff was great, it went down Hill when we ate at the Bistro, inexperienced waitress, made a bad decision not allowing us to order wine that they suggest and I was drinking water as the DD, her manager supported her decision and was rude. No personality or diplomacy skills. When you enter the Bistro The experience is totally different than the wine section of this business. And the food was mediocre

Both the food and the service in the bistro were outstanding. I don't mind paying the bistro prices for the food, (around $11 for soup and half a sandwich) because it was such good quality that I don't feel I could get elsewhere. The Winery was very nice, my boyfriend and I took my Father to see it. The host of our tastings was a nice lady, who was very informative. Very pleasant experience.

Went to North Myrtle for wine tasting. Great price, staff etc. Crackers are put out to help clean the palate after each wine. Unfortunately there are no gluten free options, not even for sale as an extra. There is water but I find it does not work as well as the crackers would. So some of the wines did not taste as good as they probably are. If you are gluten free, be sure to bring something with you. There are several sauces set out for tasting but you have to use pretzels that are not gf. After getting some spoons to try I noticed several people putting the pretzels in the sauce to try even though there is a spoon available for this. So I didn't get to try them.
