Such a beautiful cozy little hotspot. Superb wine choice.. great entertainment on the weekend.... Such a laid-back , comfortable and classy little cafe beachy vibe..friendly and fun atmosphere.. I am new to Beaufort and haven't tried their breakfast or coffee bar yet but you can bet it's on my list .. The Cru is definitely a tucked away beautiful gem of Beaufort.. hands down a new favorite to remember. If you're visiting or vacationing and you like acoustics and the coffee shop, winebar vibe then you cannot leave here without stopping in .. I'm being almost willing to bet youd sit and stay awhile. I have been in a lot of coastal towns up and down the Eastern seaboard and I have yet to find a place like this one.. the best prices I've seen for a coastal town and centrally located within walking distance of many locations/homes in Beaufort.

Stopped in for a cup of coffee and ended up getting an adult beverage as well. Very clean establishment, simple menu from the grill, and a very friendly staff(our bartender was Jules). A must stop if you're in Beaufort for any amount of time.

During the day, the coffee and breakfast food is wonderful. I haven't tried their sandwiches and ice cream yet, but they has a good reputation for that. For night life, there is always entertaining music, a large wine selection, and fun atmosphere. Every first Friday of the month, there is wine tasting and the guy giving the samples is such an interesting and dynamic person. Five stars hands down.

Visited here a few times. Nice place to relax and have a drink or a coffee, depending on your mood and your plans. Very relaxed environment with a large selection of wines on one side of the building and a coffee shop on the other. Would be great if they served more NC local wines and beers. They have a small section dedicated to NC. Great place to suit multiple tastes.

I was born in eastern N.C. and I spent the first 20 years of my life on the coast. My mother lives on Taylor's Creek in Beaufort and our family owns another property on Front Street that is commercial/residential. So, I have an interest in this area and even though I no longer live here, I still visit often. I have never had such a negative experience as the one I had at Cru Wine Bar. My wife and I had just arrived in Beaufort for a late Thanksgiving holiday with the family and we decided to stop and have a cocktail after the long drive from the RDU airport. I ordered two glasses of wine and we sat quietly on the Turner Street side of the bar. There were only 4 people total sitting at the bar, so pretty sleepy as usual for this time of year. We finished our glasses and patiently waited for service while the bartender surfed Yahoo on her iPad. Ten minutes after finishing our first glass of the day we still had not been approached by the bartender. When she finally turned around and came over I told her that we had been waiting for ten minutes while she surfed the web. She immediately took offense and said she was updating the website - I said on Yahoo? - that should be done after hours. You are in the service industry. I should not have to wave you down or call you out at a bar where your service area is only 50ish square feet. She said, that's it for you guys, saying it like we were cut off after our first drink of the day and that we were to blame for this fiasco. Her initials were W.M. and I hope the Dr. that owns this establishment makes the right decision and releases this lady. From the reviews, it looks like others have had the same problem(s) with the service.

Nice atmosphere, good coffee and free WiFi. Only negatives are some times the employees are on their phones when they are behind the counter and there has been a few times my coffee has been old, as in left in the airpot for so long it's no longer hot. Brew a new pot, most people don't mind waiting for two minutes for fresh coffee.

We stopped in here for drinks and ice cream for the kids after a long day visiting the shops downtown. The barista was extremely nice and our drinks were great. The kids loved their ice cream and as a special treat they got to dance around in the stage lights on the little stage while we waited for our drinks. They had a very nice and extensive wine selection. Hope to stop by on our next visit to downtown Beaufort!

This is a review for the wine bar....not the coffee side. I could not love this place more! Each night on our trips to Beaufort, we end the evening at Cru Wine Bar. I indulge in the wine and hubby has beer so it is a neat little bar, although the emphasis is on the wine. The front of the place is a wine shop with lots to choose from. You can come in for a bottle to take with you or stay for a glass (or four). The staff is super! They can make recommendations for the back door of Beaufort, not just the touristy attractions and recommend wine for your taste to enjoy and experience. This wine bar has seating at the bar for about 10-12 folks then there are tables set up for about 20 more. There is often live music on the weekends, sort of a laid back folksy music flair which is nice. Also, can't forget the Escazu chocolate! It is made in NC and they let us try the Beaufort Bar, which was TO DIE FOR!!! Wine, chocolate, Beaufort atmosphere...... sign me up!

I have been here twice. The first time I had a white mocha and it was alright, the second time I went I had an iced chai tea latte and it was gross. They didn't know what a Carmel Macchiato was and then she tried to explain that carmel macchiatos are only at starbucks (inaccrate, my stand sells them and they are fairly simple)... I am a barista as well and did not want to go through the effort to explain to her how to make the macchiato so I dropped it. Nice idea to have a coffee and wine store connected but I would have liked the barista to be more knowledgeable about coffee. Their wine and beer is really good though and it's a cute place to hangout.

Seems like the only game in town, particularly on Labor Day. Walked into a darkish, kind of grungy place- very strangely decorated, highly inconsistent decor. I was "greeted " by a girl who didn't seem too happy about being there. I asked her to make me a oat milk latte and THEN my husband's espresso (so his espresso doesn't get cold while my latte is being made). Well, she made my latte with regular milk and before I could say, "that's fine", she dumped it, handed me my husband's espresso and then made me an oat milk latte. The espresso and latte were not particularly good. We went to sit down at one of the few tables which happened to be adjacent to a table where an old woman was cleaning out her hairbrush on the table....yuck! The whole thing was a truly unsavory experience.

Absolute worst bar I’ve ever been to. Waited 30min to get served then when I mentioned I waited so long I had my card thrown at me and told to have a good night. As a bartender I would never speak to someone like that so I was immediately turned off and went across the street to the royal James! Great service and very friendly vibe there! Came here a couple weeks ago. They have 3 different types of house-made chocolate bars. I got one with chunks of ginger in it - very tasty. Also bought a coffee. Nice staff. Probably one of the only local coffee shops in Beaufort. I think this is roughly the same location where Matthew's Front St. Coffee was around 15 years ago.

We were there in the evening of the Pirates Invasion. Very rude and disrespectful wait staff. Little blonde behind the ice cream bar wouldn't turn the fan on for us .The bar maid was just rude, blowing us off, saying she'd have to check the fan. We waited 20 minutes and no one ever checked. We were a large party, spending money. I won't come back!
