Cute place, pleasant staff, but pricey for fairly unimpressive wines. (The website, as of my writing this, gives incorrect information about the cost of a tasting). White wines were fine; reds were sour.

My friend and I were visiting from the east coast and came upon the Chatham hill winery. We decided to give it a try. We were immediately greeted by Nancy, who made us feel welcomed and comfortable. She was absolutely delightful and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time as she brought us and the other patrons together. It was such an enjoyable visit we decided to stop in again at the end of our trip because of Nancy. She is definitely an asset to your business. If we ever get to come back to Raleigh, we would be sure to drop in.

I was really looking forward to a wine tasting and a cool atmosphere. This wasn’t it. The wines are ok, not great. It would probably bring in a better crowd if the bar was larger or they had several bars instead of dining tables. They don’t serve food but it looked like a hole in the wall restaurant. The staff was friendly. The patrons are definitely all over 55 years old. The bartender told me because it’s Friday night they don’t do wine tastings as it gets loud and crowded. The crowd was about 14 people. It never got busy or crowded.

This is my spot to pick up great wines. The staff and owners are all very friendly. They regularly have live music events which are great for a date night. They also have a wine club which allows you to get bottles at a discount! Hands down, their wine is my favorite.

Delicious wine, friendly knowledgable staff and a fun atmosphere! If you're in the area you should really stop by and do a tasting - the wine will speak for itself! Cheers!

Customer service is the only reason I gave this winery the 2 stars. The wine is not that great at all, but the atmosphere was good and they care about their customers.

Good varietals

You Are Not Welcome At Chatham Hill Winery!!! I have to agree with the most recent reviews of Chatham Hill Winery. While the exterior of Chatham Hill Winery is not symbolic of a typical winery, it certainly matches the cold and annoyed feel you get when you walk into the establishment. First let me say if you dress in anything but ascots and loafers, you will enter Chatham Hill Winery, and be greeted with looks of disgust. Secondly, the lady will treat you like you know nothing about wine, and while I can say I know nothing about Chatham Hill Wines, I do know wine, and how people should be treated at a winery. Lastly the wine is great, but don't stay there, because they do not know how to treat people, and when you go there 3 hours before they close on a Saturday, the people who work at Chatham Hill Winery, will tell you sorry we are rude it's just the end of the day.

Chatham Hill Winery is a great place to go and have a great time tasting NC wine. I enjoy the environment, the staff, and especially the fabulous wine. This is a great place to go with a group, or just go for a low key time to enjoy a glass of wine outside on the patio on a cool fall evening. I highly recommend this winery!!! Great times, Great people, Great WINE!!!!!

My recent visit to Chatham Hill Winery was long overdue. I drive by several times a week but never dropped in. A couple of weeks back my curiosity got the best of me and I pulled into their parking lot. I'm very happy that I did. The interior is elegant and friendly. The assortment of handcrafted wines are impressive. It's great to see a local winery offering high quality wine to the Raleigh-Cary community. Nancy, a delightful staff member, is super helpful and a lot of fun to talk with. I plan to attend a wine tasting event very soon and make this my go-to wine store. If you haven't visited, go now!

Good heavens, where to begin? Let's start with the positive. It's easily accessible from I-40, so those visiting Raleigh aren't going to have trouble finding it. The off-street parking won't make you fear for your sideview mirrors like some locations downtown. Those, sadly, are the most impressive features of this winery. The website, which, at the time of review was a broken mess, had no pricing for the hoped for tastings, but the TripAdvisor reviews gave pretty solid indications for $10 tastings consisting of 8 pours. That's not the case. The offering given was $15 for six pours (which indicates an extremely high opinion of the wine). Rather than invest $30 on the unknown, I chose to try the $8/glass 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon. This proved to be a mistake. A charitable description would be that this wine was quite green. Perhaps 2016 saw too much rain in NC, but this pails in comparison to VA offerings of the same vintage. The $7/glass Chenin Blanc offered a passable entry, but it hardly justified the expense. To leave on a favorable note, if you dig 70's folk rock, the ambient music will catch you right in the feels.

I have been to a couple of wine tasting here on Friday nights. The live music is chosen to go along with the wine-vibe and I like it a great deal. Highly recommended.

Lauren Britt

Service is fabulous and makes up for the perfectly drinkable but not knocks-my-socks-off wine. Great porch area to hang out with friends and a bottle of wine.

Victor Hugo Acevedo

Great place to unWine and relax with great tasting Wine!

For North Carolina this is a pretty good winery. We did the dry tasting and everything was very drinkable and smooth. This is not an actual Vineyard, only a tasting room. FYI, there are also three good breweries within walking distance.

I was quite pleased to find this winery within the local North Carolina area. I came to this location to celebrate a birthday and the overall ambience of the location made it a quaint little location to enjoy. While I personally must admit that I am partial to Pinot Noir, I found their other reds, scilicet, their Cabernet Sauvignon and Trinity Blend they offered were able to satisfy my palate.

Nice vibe for Friday night wine down

Love the new owners, we took a tour and learned so much. Our grand daughter loved it also. Wine is so good hard to choose. Will go again for sure.

A nice little stop if you are wanting to do some wine tasting.

Glad this winery is here. Tasting room could use some more love to make it more welcoming. Good wine. Fruit forward. Worth a stop to check it out!

I've been to the wine tastings here and always have a great time. They have events with food trucks and local Meet Ups, the last time they had a local new brewery and a jazz band, a regular spot with friendly owners. They need to add more art on the walls to enjoy while sipping wine.

Boye Lozada

Very nice . Host was amazing

Vivek Srivastav

Warm and cozy place with an amazing hostess

Bonnie Thompson

Nice little winery, great wine. Also serve allocation beers and often have music Friday nights. Sometimes food trucks available as well.

Tom Brawn

Great place to unwind with a flight of wines!

Rachel McCormick

Wendy Davis

Awesome winery!

Matt S

Excellent experience great wine! I've to the 4 corners of the US and all through the middle this place is charming with a great staff. As far as the wine goes well I guess you'll just have to come and find out.

Marianne Golway

From a minimal wine drinker.....it was awesome!!! I found wine I liked!!!

Courtney Cooper

Great live jazz. They have food trucks sometimes and you can bring your own food. They have a couple draft beers on tap and of course the Chatham Hill wines are very good.

Allura Lothary

I brought some people here for a tasting. They had a special "popcorn pairing" on the day I came, with cheddar popcorn and caramel popcorn pairings for certain wines. The wines were good, but we felt very rushed during our tasting. Next time I would get a tasting bridge and sit to feel less rushed.

Martin Brossman

Nice little winery and tasting bar in Cary. Food only served by food trucks at certain times.

Palina Frazier

Nice gathering plac . Wish they had longer hours on weekends.

Jeanine 309

The wine is great !!! But the service was ok, I was served later than a group who walked in after me. I did end up buying 2 bottles of wine the wine was fantastic.

Justin Hardegree

Excellent wine and atmosphere. Their merlot is awesome. I love their muscadine wine too.

Alex Wiley

I always have a great time when going to Chatham Hill winery. I love the staff and the wines are the best. Every time my husband and I go to a NC wine festival, we always find that Chatham Hill wines taste the best out of them all. I recommend anyone to come and visit the winery.

Reds are better than the whites, but nothing stands out. Very impersonal tasting, and they were particularly understaffed for a busy Saturday trying to offer tours and tastings simultaneously. The woman pouring our tasting rather awkwardly asked me if I was over 21...halfway through the tasting. It was as though she hadn't really been looking at or engaging with us.

Wendy Serrano

I've been here twice and both time the lady doing the wine tasting has been rude and cold. We were the only ones there both times so it wasn't like she has to rush through everything but she did and generally gave off the vibe that she wanted us gone from there.

Brian Hill

Cute little shop, the lady who was behind the bar was great and really earned a 5 star rating while my wife and I were there. We spilled a small amount of a wine slushie and not only did she offer to help us clean up she refilled part of our glass to make up for the lost slushie!

Erika Miles Gulley

One of the best things about Chatham Hill is being able to enjoy wine made from NC viniferous grapes in an area that is dominated by muscadine and scuppernog. There are always fun and different events going on at the winery. I highly recommend the Chardonnay for your summer meals!

Jae Lee

Wine was just okay.

Holly Sullenger

Great wine and ambiance. The owners are amazing!

What a great place! We did a wine tasting here - it was their Halloween special - wines paired with Halloween candy. So fun! Their wines are really delicious - I thought I wasn’t a big fan of NC wines (too sweet), but Chatham Hill makes some dry wines that totally proved me wrong. Will definitely be back here, for another tasting, a flight, or just to have glass to sip on their front porch.
