Great selection in a relatively large shop. Compared to a lot of the other wine stores in the area it has the best selection for the best prices, I would not waste my time going elsewhere if you are in Hell's kitchen. The staff are helpful and not pushy. All round great experience.

Horrible management. I have been a loyal and very valuable customer for two months since I've been living nearby. I am always nice and spent a lot of money in the store. They rave about their delivery and begged me to try it, so I called while to order cheese, salami, and wine to my home because it was raining- even though I was JUST in the store buying wine earlier in the day! I was talking to the same manager who hung up on during my delivery call because I simply inquired why I had to call two different numbers to make an order that comes in one delivery. I am ASTONISHED and I will never shop there EVER AGAIN.

Modest selection of wines and liquors. I felt it was a little overpriced compared to the rest of the Hells Kitchen area, but the difference is really only +/- a few dollars so it comes down to convenience.

I go here in person and also order delivery all the time. I've never had a bad experience and they have a great selection of traditional wines and spirits as well as some that I have had while traveling but have not been able to find in most liquor stores in the USA. This is my go to shop: whether you are a wine-o or just looking for something to bring to a dinner party this is the place! If you're not, rum, whiskey and fine tequilas are there too! It's not a huge store but has all the selection you could truly need.

I was pretty impressed by the selection at Ninth Ave Vintner, but the prices are very high (like 30-50% markup), and the staff doesn't know much about beer. Asking them about any of the beers present in the store, all they could consistently really tell me was the price (by looking it up), and that the beers were "well-balanced", but no detail or comparison between the beer and any other beer I might have tried. They could improve the store dramatically by *listing* the prices on the beers, so you didn't have to ask about each individual one. They could also try actually *drinking* the beers that they have, so they can speak to each one. Lastly, they could place the ratebeer or beeradvocate rating next to beers that they sell, so you have an idea about each one, instead of taking their little-educated word for it on which one is good.

One minute the person there was taking down my credit card info, and another minute the phone cuts off and they say they can't deliver anymore. The wine collection is OK, not fab, but about average -- that said, this kind of customer service is bad. ** I worry about my credit card info I gave them without any benefit.

best liquor selection in the area. terrible employees. no Canadian whiskey - a joke. good selection of vodka. wine selection better than most places in the area. a lot of reputable napa valley wines that are produced from medium sized winemakers. have not tried delivery

This is my go-to neighborhood liquor store. They have a fairly impressive collection / assortment of wines. The customer service is usually quite good and knowledgeable. They have most brands of liquor, although not as many size options of them compared to some others.

I miss this place. This was always a nice little spot for me to duck in for lunch while doing jobs in the city. for a while I was here once a week for the roast beef sandwich with horseradish cheddar on fresh baked bread. So good. They also always have a good selection of craft beer on tap, and an even bigger selection of cans/bottles.

In town from San Jose, California for 5 days to celebrate Thanksgiving. Needed some supplies to get my wife and I through the week. As tourists, we quickly realized that liquor is not sold on every street corner. I then searched google for recommendations and found a lot of terrible reviews of establishments either being rude, arrogant or price gauging. Based on the reviews, I chose to take my chances at Ninth streets. I first noticed the place was nice, clean with guests who appeared to take the acquisition of liquor with a great deal of thought and gratitude. I then met the staff. Funny, polite and insightful. The prices were well in line with my expectations. The only down side was I had to walk a couple streets past the lower rated competitors to get there. IT was well worth the steps. And my wife and garmin said I needed the steps anyway. I highly recommend this place. No shenanigans, drama or price gauging. Get treated like a local. Nothing more to say.
