Proud to call this my homebase wine store - absolute favorite in the city with an excellent refreshing and intentional selection. They are constantly getting new interesting wines with a focus on natural and biodynamic makers! The staff is fantastic - they know their stuff and will be able to help with basically anything you are looking for. They also do tastings every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night which is something I frequently participate in - also offering 10% off any of the wines they are tasting that week.

Best wine shop in the area. The staff is really into wine and can make meaningful recommendations for bottles that you will remember. Many of their wine choices are a bit more daring and "boutique" than the other places around that area, so their wines tend to be more memorable, and I always get great advice there, never unhappy with my purchases. I sometimes drop by during evenings for some wine tasting in the back space, the staff is friendly and welcoming. I love this place... I have to move in a few months and I will miss it.

Discovery Wines is medium-sized wine store on the corner of Second Street and Avenue B in Alphabet City. Discover has been in the neighborhood for a while as residents have been making it a go-to for vino needs. it's well-organized and very clean. the wines themselves are well-presented. there's a variety of wines from reds, whites, rosés, and more. the wines vary by region (domestic, international, or local) as well as by type and further more into organics and such. the last time i was here...i basically just walked around to browse prices and wines carried-- and managed to find the montepulciano wanted. overall, it's an easy store to navigate through and find the adult grape beverage you're looking for.... that said, based on the quality and brands of wines carried here...you're not likely to find single-digit priced bottles. most of the lower-priced bottles are in the $15+ range. you are not likely to find "two-buck-Chuck options" here which is fine as that is what Trader Joe's is for...Discovery Wines, for me, is great for picking up a bottle to take to dinner or for BYOB restaurants. for me, it is not a everyday/week-ish place: especially for folks who cook with wine often as i do, the higher average price points don't really work for that purpose. the staff is attentive if you need help. A-okay spot for your wine needs. drops mic cuz it's wine-O-clock

I first tried the Venditti Sannio Rosso at a restaurant here in Seattle. It was excellent and stuck with me so I ordered 3 bottles from Discovery. Great customer service as a problem was resolved quickly! This is extremely important to me when I support companies with my business. I will continue to order in the future.

There are a lot of new wine shops in the East Village hawking natural wines these days, but Discovery is the original and the best (RIP Ave A location). I'm constantly impressed with what they've got. We are very spoiled to have this in the neighborhood (on the way to the F train, for all your byob and party needs!), and if it ever leaves I'm going to have a nervous breakdown wondering where I'm going to find my Robinot.

Great shop in a hip location with excellent staff. Ask for Danny, not only is he a handsome Brazilian, but he is a real wiz with wines. Fantastic recommendations for pairings, or just what to bring to the party to impress your friends. Worth a trip to find a new cool, funky natural wine bottle/

My cards where stolen past Friday, in one hour before I block it someone run around and shop on it. This store accept my stolen debt card and run it as Credit without checking ID. Cards where stolen by a male ( and I have very long European name, with first name Anna I would say should rise a red flag some what ) and for employee to not even bother to check ID, in time where crime is up to the roof its sad and not to smart. I can't believe stores in Manhattan are so careless, I live in Brooklyn if I ever use credit card they always ask me for ID, and look at it for a moment. That is not a joke to many people. Thanks guys, you are nothing than trust less to me. Because my cards where stolen its not your responsibility, but to check on ID when card is use as Credit its yours!
