Just had a bizarre experience. Been a customer here for 2 years now, has always been decent, and customer service amazing! Until now. Immediately felt unwelcome. Came in when the man behind the counter was on the phone, which is fine. But he had an angry conversation, hung up the phone, and shouted something which I won’t repeat here. Completely inappropriate. Should’ve taken place in the back. Then seemed annoyed to have to help me after. Everyone else here has been amazing. Idk, maybe another lesson in customer service will do him well.

Friendly staff always ready to suggest a good wine. Nice selection of wines, and great ones under $15. Best wine shope of the neighborhood! And they have delivery!

They have a great assortment of wines from smaller vineyards. The staff is very helpful with helping to pick a wine tailored to your style, as well as to try something new.

I sent my mom out to this store with a piece of paper stating that she needed to buy a cabernet sauvingnon or a pinot noir. Wine was for drinking and cooking. A rude staffer decided to give her a Tempranillo. When I spoke with the staffer because my mom realized the wine was not what I asked for, I was rudely told she was given the Tempranillo because it was cheaper, i.e $9 and it was fine to drink (note to clerk its not fine when I want to drink a Cab or a Pinot). Also, I didn't ask for the cheapest red wine, I was looking for something specific. After far too much discussion and rudeness I settled on a $14 Cab. Lesson to clerk, don't assume anyone's wallet and give them what's cheap. Show them what they're asking for and they will let you know what's in or out of their price range.

My favorite wine store! I could just go there to get lectured on wine by the knowledgeable staff. They have unique and delicious wine. You might find it a little pricey, but you are definitely paying for what you’re getting here.

We go to BTL a few times a week and it is the best. Right off the subway which makes it super convenient when we get off of work. We love the staff, they are super friendly, they help you out and ask you all the right questions to get the perfect pick for you. And they give discounts here and there for us to try new things or on a wine tasting night!! Highly Highly recommended!

I am a loyal and big supporter of BTL Harlem. They have an amazing selection not found anywhere in Harlem. My boyfriend and I order from there all the time and everyone has been very friendly in person and over the phone UNTIL tonight. I placed an order shortly after 9pm and the gentleman who I spoke with nicely confirmed that it will be an hour before I get my order. I called back 10:45 pm to inquire where my order was. A woman answered the phone and I informed her about my situation. To say that she was rude and completely disrespectful to me is an understatement. She refused to listen to anything I had to say, told me that I did not order from there since she was the only one working (LIES) and she said that I had used a third party like Seamless to place my order. I gave her my boyfriends First and Last name and she insisted that she could not find my order. I had to firmly repeat myself a few times that I was telling her the truth. As she continued to call me a liar indirectly , the man who took my order in the first place, heard our conversation and yelled "yes he did". He took over and apologized for the situation. If it were not for the cocky uninformed and awful customer service I would have accepted the apology and my wine but I refuse to give BTL Harlem my business if they hire people who care less about customer service. Don't let a bad apple ruin your store, just throw it out.
