REVIEWS OF Sharrott Winery IN New Jersey

Went for the wine and chocolate tasting event. Very small winery, but very good wines! Staff was nice, but no seating indoors, as they are building a pavilion currently.

Lisa Cabrera Rivera

Amazing...had a great time!

MrsStaten Eyland

Love this winery! Beautiful and stunning facility, knowledgeable and friendly bartender. Thank you!

Atmosphere nice, good entertainment, food mediocre.. Ricotta and honey, disappointing, no flavor except the honey; flat bread pizza, sparse toppings; buratta cheese platter was the best. Hostess wasn't very attentive to our party of 3. I liked it better when it was a quaint, informal patio but I guess all the wineries turn out this way in a few years. Cookie cutter, high cathedral ceilings, prices and formality. Used to take my daughter there on Friday night. Enjoy the music while she would roam around the lawn, enjoying the night air, the crickets and frogs chirping. Simple fun for both of us. They also had mini manicures and we were able to bring food. Great memories. Too many rules now.

Sharrott is almost like being at a friend's house. Everyone is friendly, there is music, the food is light fare and the wines are always good. One of my favorite places to relax!

Eileen Batten

I have been going to Sharrott since it opened. It's true that it's a pretentious winery for the area, but the quality of wine used to be better, the location is perfect for meeting my family and friends and the live music almost never disappoints. We have also attended the Wine and Music festival many times since it always lands near my birthday, but after this year's experience I will never be back to Sharrott. It all around wasn't great this year but we made the mistake of trying to get a tasting from the Sharrott tent around 4pm. The man whose attention we finally got to pour a tasting was incredibly drunk and inappropriate, making VERY inappropriate comments towards me and telling stories about sexual comments he made to other guests of the winery. It was harassment and we left immediately afterwards.

Nicole Komenda

Went for wine tasting and felt completely ignored. The employee was much more interested in another couple that was doing a tasting beside me and approached the owner Larry? The employee seemed to be more concentrated on what they were saying then to tell me anything about the wines or to even make any suggestions. It was more like he was eavesdropping. I tried to strike up a conversation and gave up as did I give up my interest in these wines. I would have stayed for trivia night but after that I figured it was not a place stay or do business. Found myself at another winery I was treated so much better and bought wine for several gifts!

Who would have thought that this was in Southern New Jersey and not Napa, CA? Great staff, great place, I am never let down.

I attended Sharrott’s wine festival 2018 yesterday and I encountered the most ridiculous “policy”.......Patrons cannot use the inside bathrooms during their festival unless your VIP for the day (spending $300+ for table service). Although being a member ( taking your money every 3 months) is not enough to use the inside restrooms. Unreal they should allow everyone to use the restrooms. Is this the way you treat your patrons???? Sharrott you need to get it together because this is not a good look for you! Being a patron since 2012 I Won’t Be Back!!! Good luck on you ratings!

Pamela Adams

I've been here several times and the new area they built where the tent used to be is AMAZING! The decor inside is so nice. They have a kitchen now, and a brick oven where they make flatbreads. We didn't order food on this day though. We split a bottle of Pino Grigio. It was delicious. The views of the vineyards from inside was stunning! We had a great time! Count us as regulars!

Ken daminger

Very nice dry reds!

Enrico Sepulveda

Good local flight

Todd Baker

Enjoyed a sunny Sunday afternoon at the winery. The newly renovated area was very nice. Staff and service was just fine. The wine that I shared was terrific and food was fresh and tasty. I also enjoyed the live music as well.

Mia Arrison

Today was my first time here at Sharrot and I’m more than disappointed. I paid for wine tasting of six wines. Then when they handed me the card, I couldn’t believe that three of the eight red wines were completely sold out! I don’t drink white wine, so I had to ask for a refund. What?! Why would I go to a winery for tastings only to find out the reds are gone? smh

patrick mullen

I am a Sharrot red wine club member. I have been tasting wines from North Carolina to the New York Fingerlakes. Sharrot Wines are absolutely the best. Consistantly. They are friendly and the new tasting room with live music makes for a pleasant and memorable experience. You too will find your time and money well spent.

Ethan Malme

Awesome. Excellent wine, excellent service.

Shirl Reid

Went for Murder Mystery Dinner. The waitress made a very rude comments so i ask to have a different waitress. Salad was okay. My chicken was undercooked and cold and rosetta was ice cold. Thank god show was funny. It is a shame cause they used to be great. But I will not be returning to Sharrott's anytime soon.

Daniel Morgan

Great experience....

Robert Tafaro

Love love love this place. Even their flat bread pizzas were great. Definitely a place that you will want to spend some time at.

J F

Waited 2 hours for tiny portions of bad food. But at least there was deafening music being played by musicians who were barely awake. If the place actually offered coffee at brunch, they could have given some to the band. The staff was friendly, gotta give credit to a waitress who can keep you somewhat satisfied after 2 hours of no food. Also the decor was impressive to look at while we sat in loud misery struggling to think of reasons to wake up tomorrow.

Jay Morris

Very expensive wine but typical of NJ prices. Quality was just ok if you like sweeter wines. Not .CA pricing or quality.

Tajee B

This is a great spot. They offer cheese plates or you can bring your own food. There was a canola cart that's delish Ambiance was splendid with the vineyard in the backdrop and their concert series starting. The wine is good and plentyful. Very good selections at great prices. My only displeasure was that the tasting bar can get crowed quick which makes for a rushed tasting and you only taste 6 of their wines. Will go again with friends.

Stan Washington

Singer Shaun Laboy was a perfect pairing with my Vignoles wine! Awesome night!!!

Martin McDonough

What a wonderful find!! The wines are exceptional, the ambiance is warm and inviting and Mr. Sharrott added the finishing touches to a perfect afternoon. I have experienced a number of the finest wines available and Sharrott Winery now has my undivided attention. I enjoyed each and every wine I tasted, with my personal favorite being...........all of them! Je vous remercie beaucoup M. Sharrott

john jensen

Beautiful winery on a delightful evening with my wife. The Just Peachy sangria was amazing

Thomas Angulot

Wine is incredible and the food is the best. I sometimes go there for a great meal instead of a restaurant. Plus it gives me an excuse to have some wine!

john green

a nice place to spend an afternoon with some very nice wines. The staff is great and the wines keep getting better each time in. One of the few wineries in South Jersey that I would visit again and again.

Michael Gross

Great product and service

Michael Lawless

Great renovation..beautiful views, ok wine

B

I was impressed. Try the wicked port.

Cynthia V.

Our favorite local winery with friendly staff, small plates, and scrumptious wines! The best dry riesling in NJ!

Martin Williamson

Listened to Ginger Coyle perform. Great time. Good food and wine. Great atmosphere.

Sandra Merenda

Loveeee this place! Wine, atmosphere, and everyone who works there THE BEST!

D Rupell

Beautiful Winery...fantastic wine

Theresa Gillespie

Love this place.

Jay L

Sharrot Winery is a very nice place. The room for the wine tastings is large and never seemed to be overcrowded. The staff that did the wine tastings has always been fun and upbeat! The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that you only get to choose a few wines to taste out of a large list. However, once you are finished the tastings there is a very nice outside area that you can sit and drink a bottle of wine that you purchase. You can also bring whatever snacks you would like. Its even better when that is live music!

kenny epps

Awesome atmosphere! Great wine and Food!!!

Thomas .Latisha

Great vibes on a Sunday. I love the live entertainment and the waiters were super friendly and down to earth. I had two wines mixed called criminal great taste! The margarita flatbread was very tasty. I so love this place and the scenery.

Kamil Varol

First off the staff is amazing! They greet you as soon as you walk in and make you feel comfortable! The location is excellent for sunsets for a romantic getaway or just a way to relax and have a glass of wine. The wine selection is great with a good mix of reds and whites. As for the wine, wow! I wasn't a big wine guy myself but after a few trips I've come to appreciate it. Definitely worth a trip if you're checking out wineries in the area. During the summer the live music is great and you lose track of time. Outdoor seating during the warmer weather is a good breath of fresh air. I'm a fan of the dry Riesling! Overall great experience

Neil Plasky

Great wine extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great outdoor music in the summer

Donna Melzi

Awesome winery. Newer place. Try the Wicked wine..its the best!!!

Athena Morris

Amazing. Loved wine hot chocolate

John Suppa

They have a wonderful new tasting room open this weekend was just there snooping around to find out when I'm passing it on

Josh Dellinger

Beautiful spot! We sat outside with a great sunset. The food was delicious especially the flatbreads. The had really good musicians playing too. Would highly recommend going. Well definitely be going back.

Curt Weller

This is the best winery in South Jersey! Their dry reds are outstanding. And their port style wine, Wicked, won the governor's cup.

Max Baumle

Sharrott Winery has taken two steps forward, but a few backwards as well since they've opened their new building. Need an extra chair for your table? Too bad. You can't move them around. Want to bring in some chips and dip from home? Too bad. You're no longer welcome to bring in outside food. Do you want to buy food from their kitchen? You better do it the second you walk in, because you'll be waiting the whole evening for a simple plate of guacamole (I'm not kidding. We waited nearly an hour for a single plate of guacamole and chips). To me, that's completely unacceptable. There's no doubt that the atmosphere and building are exceptional, and our server was excellent as well, however, if the winery is going to force us to purchase their food now, they could AT LEAST get it out of the kitchen in a more timely manner. Otherwise, let us bring in our own cheese and cracker plates. Still, our group always has a nice time when visiting, and the quality of their wine is very good. On certain days, they have live music, which has always been excellent. While the location does have it's newly minted shortcomings, it's still a fine location to spend time at.

Rick Danser

Good wine good food good service

Ron

Second time my wife and I have gone. Found the wines very good and atmosphere very relaxing. We really enjoy the outdoor patio and the live music . We haven't experienced any poor service as I have read in other reviews. Actually, the servers we have had have been quite accommodating. The only negative we have is while the food menu is limited but quite good as we have tried several of the flatbreads and cheese platters, most are overpriced. Paying $12 + average for a small flatbread is about $3 over priced as are the cheese platters $2+ too high. Other then that, it's a great place to relax , listen to music, have some very good wines, dry and sweet and enjoy the surroundings . We'll be back again as the fall weather will provide for even more comfortable evenings at table #124 !

Francis DellaVecchia

So much has changed, but the wine is still very satisfying!! Love the new surroundings and the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable!! A must stop on the SJ wine trail!!! Stop by today, while out on an excursion. Never a disappointment and Artie rocked it!! Must stop!!

Mhari Cattell

Great wine, great atmosphere!!!

Heather Baginski

I got to visit in january with my family and we loved it so much! Between the incredible wine (which I am missing terribly as I live in florida), the delicious food, and the fun events and games they have at the ready it is an absolute must go for anyone who loves wine and fun times! If you're a fan of trivia nights definitely add this to your roster.

James Lacey

Wonderful place and amazing customer service, friendly staff and good pricing for everything.

Tommy Martinez

We had a wonderful experience! Delicious wine, great host, beautiful place with fun merchandise

jamel gibbs

Very welcoming facility. Staff are always very helpful, pleasant, and informative. their wine selection boats several award winning varietals.

Mary Ellen Tucker

Lovely wines. We had glasses of Pinot Grigio and Dry Rose with a Caprese salad and Marguerita flatbread. The flatbread was fantastic .. rivalling those I have eaten in Rome. Bought two bottles of our dinner wines. Easy transaction, just added to our dinner bill. Worth the trip!

Brian Allain

Sharott has by far our favorite wines in New Jersey. They also have wonderful entertainment on many weekends. Great place to hang out this afternoon!

Jose Pereira

Spectacular view. Great wine.

Chelsea Davis

Wonderful wines and great people!

Nick

I have no clue how this isn't a perfectly 5 star rated winery. It's new, beautiful, and the product is high quality. They have events every week and the atmosphere is incredibly inviting. You can tell the owner(s) are very meticulous and invested in their business. The only thing I would like to see in the future is more interactive additions like shuffleboard tables, a pool table, etc. Great work

Glen Eaton

If you think Sharrott wine is good, you don’t like or know what real wine is. Okay, you’ve paid your outrageous prices, now move on. I’d love to meet the wine judges. Seriously.

Ryan Watson

Great wine. Great place to go and sit out on the patio on a nice summer day.

Nancy Ruys

Nice atmosphere! Often have lots very music. Great winery to sit and have a glass with excellent cheese plates.

Jc P

Place is amazing. We come here often with friends. Enjoying fine testing wine

Robin Foster

Fun place!

I’ve been coming to Sharrott’s for many years with family and friends. My last visit was unpleasant to say the least. This winery no longer allows outside food, you cannot move chairs around, you must make reservations at the front desk or you will be yelled at by rude employees. You are no longer allowed to seat yourself and you must have a server at your table. We are extremely upset by this as we loved “old” Sharrot’s before this “corporate-like” renovation. Though the atmosphere is nice, you are treated more like a “restaurant guest” than a “winery guest.” My suggestion is that there are plenty of more wineries in the general South Jersey area that you are treated more like a “winery guest” and are not as stingy. Very upset with their recent “list of rules.” We’ve always loved Sharrot’s!

Abigail West

Great day at Sharrott Winery. We tried the wine tasting (about $10 for 6 wines of our choice). We didn’t have any food but the menu had a nice offering of different foods. The building was BEAUTIFUL! Staff was very nice too. Highly recommend!

Al Pine

Wine is very good very nice place but the staff are amazing. Makes your visit the tops .

Omegia Randleman

A lovely place to visit. I became a Wine Club Member because of the awesome wines and food served. The events are very nice.

Barbi Dixon

The Chardonnay is great, but that is the only reason I might go. The atmosphere is pretentious. The owner will spend plenty if time joking and talking to his wealthy friends and acting as if the other patrons are not as valuable (or the building blocks if his business). This winery belongs in Cape May to fit right with those personalities.

Shelly Littlejohn

My Bridal Shower was phenomenal thanks to the staff at Sharrott!! We had an awesome time!!

Maya Thompson

This place is canceled. I would like to start off by sharing that we have been patrons of Sharrott Winery since 2012 when we visited for a Valentines Day event using a living social. The atmosphere was casual and inviting. Since that time we’ve visited several times per year, each time bring more friends and creating new memories. In that time we have enjoyed tons of live music, puppies and dogs when they were allowed, and the beautiful scenery. It was something that was really special and something great to share. We came today to celebrate the accomplishments of friends and it will be our very last time. That all changed today. From the moment when walked in we were treated like trespassers instead of paying customers. We were badgered about if we wanted a tasting despite us asking Jennifer to please wait until the rest of our party arrived so we can decide. Once they did and we decided on doing the tasting we were informed that that the $10 cost of the tasting plus tax would include a glass. The tasting was fine and we decided to stay and enjoy some bottles on the patio. There was a group of us and we looked at a table in which a server RAN over to tell us that we could NOT combine tables. Well that’s funny since many other tables did such throughout the night. Overall we felt unwelcome and that the general demeanor was that we were not wanted. We ordered at least 10 bottles of wine, 5 cheese plates, and several bottles of water. Still we were treat in the most hostile and harsh way and it really hurts after many years of loyal patronage as we never visited other wineries. Unfortunately this place will never be visited again by myself or the other 12 members of our party which is sad as we loved supporting what seemed like a great family owned and operated business. Canceled.

Miriam Jacobus

My husband and I went there for the first time to meet up with friends. We were very pleased. The place itself is so inviting. The scenery is so pretty, The music wasn't too loud it was just right. The food was amazing! The wine was delicious. All in all from the staff to the atmosphere thumbs up!

Michael Jacobs

Enjoyed the flat bread and a bottle of dry rose' wine. Relaxing.

Carol McCormack

It was fun. Had live music starting at 6 pm.

Cliff Melder

Very limited menu of extaordinary tastes.

Kathy Newman

Love this winery. The atmosphere is wonderful. We went for dinner tonight. The entertainment was soft background music. We had roasted brussel sprouts with potatoes, flat bread with tomatoes, and salad with blue cheese and walnuts. Everything was just wonderful. You don't expect this quality of food at a winery. And the wine of course is great. This is our goto place now!!!

javon harrison

This place make you feel like family! Very friendly staff, great music, and the atmosphere is unbelievable! Loved it so much we became members! Love the whole staff at Sharrots Winery!

Kara Fraser

Great ambience on their food truck and entertainment nights but, unfortunately like most south NJ wineries I’ve sampled, the wine itself leaves something to be desired. I love going for the atmosphere, less so for the alcohol

Fitzann Reid

Poor service. Also, they told our large party of 12+ (yelled at us in fact) that we could not combine tables. No less than half hour later other parties arrived and combined tables and nothing was said to them. My advice: if you have a rule enforce it for EVERYONE or don't have the rule at all. Never going back to this place.

Gasper Fernandez

Great place they offer really good wine selections and they also have lovely staff.

Joshua Wolf

I enjoyed a delightful wine tasting with friends. Our sommelier, Gina, was helpful in describing the flavors and notes of the wines. It was a pleasant experience. We are looking forward to visiting again soon.

alison perry

Always a good time on the patio!

Agnes Trummer

Great place to gather with friends, upbeat atmosphere, good bite food, cheers!

Laura Benner in

It is my friends Birthday. I wanted to take her out to winery for a nice evening with full meal including couple bottles of wine spending around couple hundred $. Her favorite cake is carrot cake which winery kitchen does not offer. I called ahead and asked if we spend couple hundred $ can I just bring one slice of carrot cake for her bday. Staff could care less and started quoting me their policies. Well I guess I will spend my money for wine and food somewhere else. My family and friends are regular quests at Sharrott winery. After this experience not going back there ever again.

David Williams

The grounds are beautiful, but service from some of the employees made the experience one for which I will not return. Joi was horrible. She had no interest in serving us and was very rude not only to us but to everyone that walked in. We were also surprised when we overheard a conversation between her and another employee who had answered a phone call. The customer on the phone was asking for a group reservation. Joi was visibly upset (prob that she would have to do some actual work) and told the person on the phone to call back mon-fri - Instead of being helpful. If you can’t meet the request take a message and be polite on the phone. Just plain be polite. You’re working in a service industry. Leave all your baggage at the door and try not to ruin everyone else’s experience.

Bell C

Mother’s day brunch. Table of 18. About 8 of us waited 2 hours for a single morsel of food while the others were already finishing their dessert. The music was terrible and the band looked like a hot mess. They looked like they fell asleep 10 years ago after a wild night and woke up late for work that morning. Our server told us that they were “expediting” our food and finally when it got to us, my French toast soufflé was half raw and the other side burnt to a crisp. The kitchen staff took Their sweet old time making subpar food. I should have ordered a bottle of wine and had a liquid breakfast. I would have spent less money and been more satisfied.

Kelly Donegan

I never write reviews like this but I have to complain about a certain employee. I have been to Sharrott winery twice and had a problem with Sabrina both times that I was there. The first time I was at Sharrott was with my boyfriend. We were at the bar and Sabrina was the bartender. She treated us so much differently than the other adults that were sitting at the bar. She never came up to us, didn’t ask if we needed anything, and was not friendly (probably because we looked younger). The second time I went to Sharrott was with my girlfriends. We asked Sabrina if we could sit at a table, and she laughed and said “haha no, sit at the bar.” So we went to the bar and asked the bartender if there was a waitlist to sit at a table; there was, Sabrina didn’t tell us that. We put our names in, and the lady who took our names down told us that we were next on the list. Twenty minutes later, we noticed there was three open tables, and two of them were given to two couples who had just walked into the winery. Sabrina took them and sat them, even though we were next on the wait list. I have been to Sharrott twice, and I love the wine and the lady who does the tasting (Lisa), but Sabrina makes me feel un-welcomed. A winery should be filled with friendly employees who are excellent at customer service. Sabrina makes me not want to come back.

Donna Popeskic

My husband and I just lover this winery. Great atmosphere along with good people.

Nikki Lafferty

Second time here and was not too happy. The location is BEAUTIFUL and the wine is great but service is literally awful. Waited 40 minutes after being seated to even get a glass of wine as even longer for food! And that's after we spoke to the manager. Nice place but don't go if you don't want to wait

Thomas Flood

Went on a Friday evening sat outside and listened to music and had a couple glasses of wine. Very nice view. Had a wonderful time.

Mark Davis

Place was wonderful, food and wine was excellent. Only issue we had was with out waitress Gina, very slow took forever to get us wine and food. Joy came over to help us and took care of us. Besides that Joy and Arden took care of us and gave us great service. Will definitely be back.

Mystekque Townsend

My girl and I came here 1yr ago and the experience was awesome!

Scott Cop

Great flight option

Don Marshall

Great wines, nice selection of munchies. Great entertainment.

Al Cipollone

Great place to sit and enjoy some wine

Craig Rosas

New addition this year to the winery. Patio much improved with bottle service and a kitchen with good food.

Gary Collins

Are you you sure this is New Jersey? Who ever said New Jersey wines were not as good as other States have not been to Sharrott Winery.

Brandon Ward

I'm sorry it was an accidental. My phone was activated . This is one of my favoritev places to visit. The staff wine and owner are excellent

Adeshola Obafemi

Sharrott Winery is everything! We used the vineyard to pull off a proposal and surprise engagement party. Thanks to Arden and the staff at Sharrott we pulled it off without a hitch! They were so accommodating and really we couldn't ask for a better group of people to help us pull off this surprise. Everyone had such an amazing time and the wine is amazing! My favorite is the Crimson Sky. Beautiful location and even more amazing host. Thanks again for everything!

Tammy Wilson

I love this winery

richard canter

Have been coming here for years. The original tasting room was nice. The new & expanded facilities is a homerun. The Sharrotts have gotten it so right! Love their wines. We are willing to drive 2 hours to enjoy an evening here. Plus live music. Winner winner!

Dom Jaro

Went there for a wine tasting a couple of months ago, sampled about 6 different wines i believe, and what i liked about it was they had different lists for the different wine categories. I don't like dry wines so i stayed away from those, but we loved the crimson sky, the vignoles, and also the winter spice wines. And the prices weren't so bad either, I saw a bad review on here, obviously this person must be from a competitor, i highly recommend trying this place !

Michael Mancini

Great winery and our go to spot. Beautiful place with great staff. Prices are great and wines are really good. Highly recommend and will continue to go there.

Radion Corlateanu

Very nice people. Got unloaded really quick.

shannon bowman

Best chambourcin around. And the barrel reserve chardonnay is buttery loveliness. Staff is great and friendly. Always a good time.

Susan Lingenfelder

We love this winery. We visit when we stay in Atlantic City. Beautiful bar and restaurant. Great food. Eat in or out. The wine is very good! Go, you won’t be disappointed.

Lauren DeIudicibus

We visited during the wine and chocolate weekend. We got to taste all of their wines. It was a great experience. The staff was super friendly.
