My wife and I didn't love the wine. The scenery is beautiful though.
Awesome winery. Let's dogs come inside. Cozy atmosphere with couches and nice tables/chairs. Had a guitar player and oyster bar. Really cool place.
I often go there for a great glass of wine and to enjoy the peace and quiet from the second floor deck. It is also a wonderful place to bring my real estate clients. They enjoy the tour, and the barrel room ambiance. Don't miss Grill Night.
Edit:April 2019- The old adage "Age like a fine wine" definitely does not reflect Cape May Winery. Maybe under new management/ became too large for their original patrons, who where there in their beginnings when they started in their tiny two car garage. The customer service/accommodations are lost, the new rule of outside food not being allowed and must purchase from a tapas menu- note to the winery you are in the wine business, not food. Focus on what made your name(the wine) because the quality of your wine has fallen off. For the price point of your wine, your local competition offers a better selection with better wine. This winery must have lost their wine roots and are more focused on the money game. Cape May Winery- your original clients remember you in the beginnings when you just started out- remember where you came from. With these new restrictions/ lack of customer service, it pushes your clients to the smaller wineries around Cape May, wineries who actually do care and wish for them to return. You are not the only show in town anymore. Regretting offering Cape May Winery at my wedding, should have offered another local winery down there who would remember their main clientele. Skip Cape May Winery and head to Turdeo, Jessie Creek, Hawk Haven and Natali. They all have better wine, and customer service. Cape May Winery is a soured grape. Original review: Amazing winery!!A must go when in Cape May!! Started going here when they just started and Toby's (the owner) hospitality has not ceased over the years. Every wine is enjoyable and complex in their own way. My wife and I only featured Cape May wine when we got married in 2016. We always leave with a case because the wines featured are always changing and we can only get them at the winery. The best winery in New Jersey!
The place is wonderful. Clean & neat facilities with a lovely fireplace. Jean the bar tender was very knowledgable & sweet. And 4 out of the six wines tasted were very good. Pick up a bottle of Cape May Zinfandel.
Very friendly great wine & good food!
Best wine in the area!
We were there for a function recently. It was outstanding. Extremely picturesque and the staff went out of their way to serve you in a pleasant professional manner. Food and wine were outstanding. It's a definite "must see" if you're in the Cape May County area.
Worst customer service ever. Not accomodating. Insist on telling you what they they want you to do or buy instead of letting me try what I want. Dont even think about coming here if you are in a group. Worst winery Ive been to in a long time.
Just wonderful. A great place to chill. Great surroundings.
Would be 5 stars but you can no longer bring in anyway food from home. Must buy from their kitchen if you are hungry . Food not bad but a little bit pricey . $5.00 for a 3" slider. Still offer fresh oysters, shucked in front of you .
Amazing winery that is very kid friendly. I recommend dining outside
Wonderful experience! Knowledgeable staff! Great wines! Beautiful vineyards!
Like being in Tuscany
Beautiful winery.
Had a great time at Cape May Winery! A wine tasting is only 10$ for 6 1oz pours of your choice and you get a souvenir wine glass. In addition you can try a flight of wines or just buy by the glass/bottle. They had an assortment of tapas, cheese/charcuterie board options and they were all really good. The only issue we had was from the kitchen. They did get two orders from our table wrong. It didn't damper our day but be observant when you order. They do not have table service which I liked! You go up to the counter to order wine or food. After you have your drinks they have a lot of outdoor seating and beautiful scenery. There was also a live musician. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone down the shore.
Much like Oyster Bay and Lucky Bones, a first class experience.
Great time, friendly people
Probably one of the best wineries we've experienced. Great wines, friendly staff and a great time was had by all.
We tasted almost all the wines between my husband and I, we ended up buying 6 bottles. Great experience with Jennaray who helped us through the process
Good wines and food
One of our favorite spots in Cape May. The wine is delightful, both reds and whites. The atmosphere is incredible as well. There is a fun out back patio and beautiful inside spaces to enjoy your wine!
Another must go here place when you visit Cape May... the staff is very courteous and professional...wines are great.. awesome place to get a bottle of wine some food out of the kitchen sit on their patio and listen to the band
Nicely designed tasting room and patio in the actual vineyard. This place is a must when visiting Cape May. Oh yes, good wine too!
Nice place, Excellent wines. We visited in February and had a great experience. Highly recommend.
Tasting room is very nice. Great place for people new to wine tasting to visit -- staff is very accommodating.
Not allowed to bring outside food, staff is rude, wine is subpar. Would not recommend
Cape May winery is a beautiful place to visit, my wife and I have been stopping here for the past three years and it seems like every year they add to the activities, there is now two testings you can choose from, a flight testing which is held downstairs and the regular testing which is held on the deck. There is also lots of outside seating with live entertainment. They have an array of awesome wines to choose from, it’s also kid and dog friendly. The prices are very fair and reasonable. Will definitely be back!
A great place to come for a tour and some good wine. Get 10% off your first case. Become a case club member and get 15% off each case after during the year. When you're a case club member you get invited to the futures tastings they have a few times a year. Taste a few wines and enjoy some great food. Nice outdoor seating areas.
very nice, a little pricey, but very good wine, you can bring your own food & they have a short menu with aa great atmosphere. have only been here on Saturdays
Great place, the tasting wine is so nice..I'll go back again
Love, love, love this winery. The food is new and wonderful! The wine is fabulous. Always a great place in Cape May!
Exceptionally friendly and informative staff. Great tasting wines and spacious inviting tasting rooms. The port is a must try on the tasting menu.
My experience this weekend at Cape May Winery was amazing! I heard great things about it from friends who had been to a wedding on the property a while back, and decided to go with my boyfriend during our weekend trip to Cape May. When I registered for the flights and bites I didn’t even think to include that I was a vegan in the dietary restrictions section as that’s usually a hard one for places to accommodate! I figured I’d bring my own vegan cheeses/snacks to have along with the wine tasting. Upon arrival they were very nice about me bringing my own vegan foods and said that they would include it later on a plate during the pairing. After a beautiful walk through the grounds, we went down into a room for the flights and bites and our very informative guide named Sam let me know that they would be bringing out a special plate for me. To my surprise, they brought out a very large platter of fully vegan bites- including hummus and veggies, olive tapenade, pickled cauliflower, and some nuts along with my vegan cheeses I had brought that they prepared beautifully! Everything was absolutely delicious, and they made me feel very comfortable about my dietary requests! On to the wine....! We tried a chardonnay, an Albariño, and a house blend Cabernet. The Albariño was by far the biggest hit with the group and my personal favorite. After the tasting they gave you a full glass of your favorite wine and allowed you to walk the grounds at your leisure. Despite the chilly October weather, we had a beautiful day at the vineyard and definitely will be returning for the views and for another couple bottles of wine! Thank you again for making this weekend so special for us!
Absolutely gorgeous place! I stopped in Labor Day weekend. Had a small tasting flight, and wandered the grounds. The outdoor seating area is stunning. There was a live band and plenty of space to sit and hang out. We spoke to an employee who was so helpful with recommendations of wines to try, and also other places to check out in the area. Can't wait to come back again!
This place was great! The staff is extremely friendly. The facilities are beautiful and the price for tasting is great!!! I went on a rainy day and it still was beautiful... I can only imagine how much greater the experience is with nice weather!
Great winery and fun place to visit and sample wine!
Wine tour was interesting and valerie was an excellent tour guide. Absolutely beautiful and will definitely come back!
For the price, it's a great deal, you get 6 tastings and keep the glass. We even bought 3 bottles of wine, then bought a glass of wine and sat out back and listened to a guy playing guitar and singing good cover tunes.
What a wonderful evening listening to a fantastic singer with guitar while drinking a bottle of wine amongst the great people and grapes.
Beautiful clean and tasty place
Beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff.
We had an excellent time. The wines were exceptional and the staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly!
I was invited to join a group on a fundraiser to do the Vines to Wines tour here at the Cape May Winery. It was so professional and informative, I was very impressed. A wonderful idea for a group to engage people. I picked up some wine too and it is very, very good.
Perfect
Best selection of wines of the Cape May wineries. I recommend the blush or apple.
The tour was both enjoyable and informative. The tour guides and staff were most hospitable and engaging... And the wines! Outstanding! I'll be visiting again this year. The wines are sold exclusively from the winery.
This is a beautiful winery. The staff are amazing. They have so many unique features and rooms. One of the best winieries I've been too and will definitely be returning.
Nice atmosphere to enjoy a tasting or tour and relax. The wine is overpriced and not great but still fun nonetheless.
Nice relaxing place with a laid back atmosphere and friendly staff. Large selection of wines with some good options.
Great place to drink and relax a little!! Portable heat for outdoor seating. Also a fire pit for outside. Tasting and tours also available along with a variety of cheeses, crackers and meats. Fireplaces, bars and seating inside the building. Live music on select nights and fresh oysters on select days...one of their best wines is the Port wine (red)
Great wine
Cape May Winery is phenomenal!!! Great atmosphere and staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. First time here and my husband and I will definitely be back many times over!
A fun stop any time of the year, the Cape May Winery has tastings, events, and a little gift shop. The grounds are small but nice and the back patio is a great place to relax. Guests can bring their own snacks or grab some cheese and crackers from the snack section in the front. There are regularly held events, live music and fun little touches like local oyster shucking. The staff is friendly and we always have a good time here.
Always great service. My favorite S Jersey winery.
A group of 6 of us attended one of the winery's grill nights last night and it was FANTASTIC. We were beyond impressed and so happy with everything! The staff was positively delightful and incredibly helpful, from hostess, to "bartenders," and servers. The food was delicious and such a great deal for the price! We arrived 1/2 an hour early and I'm glad we did as it allowed us time to talk with the two ladies serving wine regarding our choices and what would pair best with our pre-fixe meal. Lastly, the winery looked SO BEAUTIFUL. We highly recommend the entire experience! Thanks so much, Cape May Winery! Definitely one of the highlights of our summer!
Great place and wines
We saved this for a rainy day but please go here on a nice day and enjoy the outdoor seating and vineyards that you can walk in. Many rooms in the vineyard house are open to the public as well. I enjoyed the Pinot Grigio best!
Nice place to visit. I also liked the wine.
Very good,
Nice ambience and good wines. The cape may red is on point.
Extremely knowledgeable in the field of wine production and choosing suitable wines for individuals palate.
Awesome spot! Absolutely loved the wine and food here
The wines were good and the food was tasty
One of the best wineries that I've ever been to! Our tour guide was very friendly; she answered all of my questions about their wine with always a smile on her face. I can't wait to come back here next summer with my girlfriend!
Great venue. They is a large tasting room and outdoor patio area. The wine was ok but nothing special. Chardonnay was sweet which was not to our liking. Service was slow as only 1 person to do the tastings with quite a few people waiting.
Great place, great staff, and great wine.
Great wine selection
Came here today for my 30th birthday only to watch my younger sister get reprimanded by a rude employee telling us we couldn’t bring in outside food. We were not aware of policy change as we’ve been coming here for several years with no issues. The employee told us “things have changed”. There were also arbitrary reserved tables which was confusing. I really didn’t appreciate how we were treated and I’m not sure we will be back anytime soon. It’s a shame today was such a bad experience. We used to love coming to the winery and were loyal customers. Unfortunately the experience is completely different and seems to be driven by making top dollar. What a shame that greed has driven this and it’s only a matter of time before they go under.
A gem on the Jersey coast. Good winery, great staff, and cozy tasting room. Sitting by the fire is especially nice on a rainy day!
Unfortunately my mom and I had an awful experience here at this winery. We walked in and asked a few questions about the tour and the girl behind the counter was extremely rude. So we then decided to leave and go elsewhere.
Greoat wine the grig was very good atmosphere is great
Great chill spot. Experienced and intelligent staff. Bring in your own food!
Very quaint! Staff are super friendly and try to get to know your tastes in wine! We tried both a red blend and a white , couldn’t go wrong with either. We chose their Naked Chardonnay , light not to dry with a subtle citrus flare.
This winery was great. Multiple bars allow for less congestion. The tasting package allows you to try a good variety of wines before moving on to flights, while getting information from the staff on each wine type. Great views of the property from the outside deck with food available as well.
Cool little winery, good selection great place to hang out from the rain.
Group of us had fun. Great staff enjoyed the wine
Nice place, pretty. Kind of expensive for mediocre wine. Food was pretty good but, again, kind of expensive. Borders on pretentious. $60+ for some samples, one glass of wine, and a light lunch
Very friendly and knowledgeable bar staff. One of the best selections of dry NJ wines that I’ve tried. Will definitely return.
Relaxing atmosphere with great scenery when the summer blooms. The wines are pretty good and you have the option to bring your own food or buy tapas when you arrive. Love the port wines they have.
We came across this place on the way to Cape May. A stunning backdrop from the top patio looking down on the vineyards. You get to taste 6 wines and choose to buy only if you want to. No pressure to buy. Nice and friendly staff and a must do if your visiting the area.
First time & absolutely loved it!! Friendly, knowledgeable bartenders. Huge tasting room with plenty of seating. Live music was awesome. Loved the Cape May Red and the Cabernet. Great experience. Will definitely return!
Best Winery in South Jersey. Great Place and very friendly personnel. Wines are above the rest.
Had an excellent time here tasting 5 different wines. They had a good selection of sweet/dessert wines as opposed to most vineyards that only have 1 or 2. Great atmosphere, very relaxed environment. They encouraged us to explore the grounds on our own instead of pushing us to do the tour.
The wine tasting is fun, the wines are good and the staff is friendly.
Buena atención y tienen muchas selecciones de vinos y buenos precios
Delicious food and service. I absolutely loved my time there. Ashley was wonderful as a tour guide for our tasting! We had brunch and tapas, which were amazing!
Atmosphere is great and it is beautiful but the wine is swill. If you like sweet wine this could be good for you. I don't understand how a place with so much money doesn't make better wine.
Good wine entertainment atmosphere. Loved it
Always a great stop.
The upstairs tasting room/deck was great!
Busy hard to find a spot to enjoy a drink on a rainy day. As always though do enjoy the winery. Eventually found a spot by the fire and it was lovely. Good wine selection.
Beautiful facility, attentive & relaxed staff.
A few weeks back, we spent the weekend in Cape May with friends. One lazy afternoon was spent at the Cape May Winery at a tasting of their Reds. The Pinot Noir is a great red for the summer - I LOVED the Zin and bought a case. The Reserved Pinot was good too - but, I'm not much of a Red lover - it had more of what I don't like in Reds - but, rest assured - the rest of the party that does like them gave it high marks. I was disappointed with their whites - I'm told that the rains last year diluted the wine so, it was to be expected. The tasting included cheese, crackers and other tasty treats and well as a fire pit out back to hang out around. All in all, it was a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.
$10 for cheap wine tasting and a lovely brunch selection. Beautiful outdoor and indoor seating with live music. Professional and courteous staff who were very helpful with pairings and suggestions. Beautiful location, lovely wine.
Delicious tapas and wines. Only $10 for wine tasting (6 1oz wines) and you get to bring home your glass
Great atmosphere good food and wine
Great ambiance, wish there were more wines be the wines available were fantastic. Try the Rose
We visit every time we come to Cape May. Bring your own food and have a great time, winter, spring, summer and fall.
Beautiful winery, awesome wines!
Should spend more time on their wine, less on smearing an honest, hard working Mayor.
Called around 11 for a reservation. They told us to call back closer to the time we want to come. We called back and now they are booked. Really?? Going to Hawk Haven they thanks you for your business. Don't expect business from all 11 of our group ever again. Happy birthday to my wife.
Went here for a race and ended up staying for a little while after because it was so nice. Definitely will be back
The atmosphere was ok. I tried the merlot and the found it to be to acidic to my liking.
Great local wine! Very consistent flavor profiles throughout the entire vintage portfolio. Tapas are a great addition, although a bit pricey.
Come out and support the local wineries you will be pleasantly surprised by the high quality of wine and food to sample
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and we had a blast! What a great place to spend an afternoon, they had a live musician playing on the patio and very polite employees. Our tasting guide was incredibly enthusiastic and passionate about wine. He explained everything for us,from how to choose a wine to how to fully taste it. If you don’t end your tasting with the port you are doing it wrong.
Very friendly staff that takes their time to tell you about each of their wines during a tasting. All the wines we tried were excellent they obviously take a lot of pride in their products. The tasting room is huge but it has a warm inviting feeling. We visited on a cold rainy day in January so did not get to look around outside but the grounds looked very nice.
LOVELY.... the ladies pouring were so wonderful. The wines delicious. A must visit everytime I come to the area.
Great tasting and beautiful atmosphere
Love it here! Great wine. Beautiful ambiance and great service.
Very friendly experience
Beautiful little winery with delicious wine, welcoming ambiance, great live music, and friendly staff. Would recommend stopping in!
The best winery in Cape May County. My friends and clients love the variety of wines they make. Great little extras, cheeses, chocolates, specialty roasted coffees, wine glasses etc. A perfect little gem nestled on Town Bank Road, wine tastings and events all year long . My go to place, to recommend for a nice quite afternoon, great wine and comfortable atmosphere.
Came here with some girlfriends for a girls weekend and we had a blast! Even in the winter, this winery was comfortably busy. We went on the winery tour and had Francis as a tour guide (not sure if he leads all the tours, but you should come when he's running them). He offered a lot of good and compelling info and made the tour really interactive. Beautiful location, great people, and delicious wine! Get ready to get #wineducated!
We had a pretty great time here and 99% of the staff was phenomenal and polite. However, the Iceman and his family were disrespected by a rude employee before we left which was the reason why we ended up leaving. I’m going to make sure Danny doesn’t take the 22 down here and waste his time.
Wonderful
Amazing staff, great wine.
Very nice tasting room with top notch food options. The wine is good but a little over priced.
Wonderful winery
Reasonably priced NJ locally grown wine. The Vineyard is beautiful and the tasting room is amazing. Highly recommend bringing some crackers and cheese and plan to spend some time there enjoying the ambience. If the weather is nice, the outside patio is great. We've been to all of the wineries in Cape may, Cape may winery is our hands down favorite.
This place is a must see. My wife loved their Chardonnay and I was impressed by their Cab Sav and Petit Syrah. The grounds are wonderful also. If you are in the area don't miss this place.
Anna and Shelly were fantastic. Wines were much better than the other wineries in the area. What a wonderful experience. Lovely grounds as well.
We had such a fun time here!! The tasting was great and the included wine glass was even better! We loved that you could bring your own food - disappointing to hear that they are going to be stopping that soon. So fun spending time on the upstairs deck!
Excellent tour , great wine. Very nice winery.
Incredible selection of delicious wine. Beautiful atmosphere with chill live music. Definitely vibrations.
Needed more help during tasting. One lady is not enough when your busy

We attended the grill night last night. We have been to a number of grill nights and they are really excellent. Last night as usual the food was excellent but what was very disappointing was the lack of the cheese bar. The cheese bar Is actually a big part of the night. We were given small plates with a few pieces of cheese and crackers. Rather than do this it would have been better to eliminate it altogether. It is bad to have had something so nice and do away with it.
Very crowded so people were a bit pushy
Great winery, knowledgeable guide, great wines.
People who work there are friendly and very helpful. Prices are good. Entertainment was very good
Nice little winery.
For a winery on the Jersey Shore, it’s pretty good, but I had a hard time finding a wine I thought was good here. The ambiance is excellent with a huge barn holding the bars for tastings and a awesome outside area right along the vines that is perfect for enjoying some wine on a nice day. The service felt a little off to me, somewhat rushing our tasting. The crowds start pouring in on weekend afternoons, and the setup where you have to go to a single counter to pay for the tasting before going to the bar seemed strange. We were also ignored for some time when trying to get a servers’ attention, perhaps because the other patrons were so pushy. For a nice evening outside with wine, it’s good, but if looking for excellent wine, it may not be the place.
LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! The best people, the best wine, the best scenery, and the best art work...made by the 74 year old owner.....check this place out!!!!
Great staff and wine!
