Checked out this cute winery thanks to Groupon as a pit-stop while on way to the White Mountains from Boston. Loved the tour given by Ken and the tasting. Can't forget the friendly greeting from Boris, the winery pooch. Will be sure to visit again if ever back in the area. Thanks!

We visited the winery simply because it was close to where we were staying and wanted something to do that day. However, we got was an exceptional educational experience that blew us away. When we showed up and read the explanation of the wines we were scared to see that none of the wines used grapes...so our initial thoughts were skeptical. While we waited for our tour we grabbed a light lunch at the cafe, it was good food but a bit pricey. For our tour, our guide was one of the owners (Ken) who is a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to the intricacies of the winemaking process (he is intricately involved in each step of the process as it is all done by hand). He is clearly passionate about wine and his knowledge of the winery provided an exceptional learning experience to two odd-duck engineers (my wife and I). It was interesting to learn how the wines are made and the choices that went into each variety of wine—which made the lack of grapes a lot more understandable. After the tour we did the tasting which took a little longer than expected as the bar was packed (recommend at least an hour for the tour/tasting)! We ended up taking a few bottles home, we also plan to join their club and order some more. Overall this was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend it.

Amazing fruit wines that drink like grape veritals. Wonderful staff. Be sure to get the tour. Plenty of street parking.

Wonderful spot to sample great wines. Every one is a winner! Sat on the deck with a glass of wine and a meat & cheese board, delish! Highly recommend.

This was a great way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday. The tour was about an hour and was very interesting. It was all inside the area where they actually make the wine so it is perfect no matter what the weather is like. After the tour we got to taste a variety of their wines. It was a lot of fun. The place is cool, the people are passionate.

Informative tour. Many questions answered as we are by no means connoisseurs. We had opted for lunch in the deli, which was good because as we talked, we had more questions which were answered. We found some very good wines, interesting chocolates and solid pairing advice. Everyone was noticeably enthusiastic.

We were staying in that area and looking for something to do. We both like wine so we stopped in. We were given a very informative tour. Then enjoyed a wine tasting. The wines were very different so we bought a few bottles to take home. We also got to take the wine glasses home. Very enjoyable experience.

Hermit Woods is a terrific place to visit. The owners are passionate about their wine and wine in general. You will definitely receive an education and their passion is certainly contagious! My husband and I come in here around once a year while we’re in town. We adore the wine, the atmosphere, and the obvious time and care put into every product. Ken recognizes us every time we come in, and it always results in wonderful conversation. It has been amazing to watch this beautiful wineries growth through the past few years, and our trip there is always a highlight of coming to Meredith.

The tour was excellent, we have not experienced such a thorough explanation of the winemaking process. We found some of the wines to be delicious as well.

wines are subjective in terms of taste. They are done with local produce only which is amazing but wasn't my thing the slates were absolutely best in class style! only downer you can't sit at the table drink wine and eat due to some fancy law ..

Hardly needs my recommendation after being named by food and wine magazine but this place takes fruit wines to a propper wine stature, the passionate owner can take you on a wine tasting in house then you choose your favorits, all made from locally grown fruits, must visit when in town.

We belong to the hermit woods wine club and we come up 4 to 5 times every year. The wines are all amazing and the food is great. The owners are really a great bunch of guys and the people at the wine tasting bar are always very hospitable and knowledgeable. This a great stop when you are up in meredith.

Take cider. Take wine. Make a baby - you’ve got Hermit Winery. A tasting experience different than any winery in the USA. Not particularly wine. Not particularly cider. Try, you must. A standout experience for the NH Lakes Region. By Boat, by car, by foot or pedal. Elevate your time here

We did a tasting with Aaron. Delightful place! I found the wine to be delicious and unique to the area. I love that everything is organic. And no grapes! We toured and were quite impressed with the entire operation. The owner was so kind and inviting. We did not eat at the deli but I’m sure it was wonderful too. This is definitely worth a visit and kudos to Aaron who went above and beyond to make our visit extremely enjoyable. I ended up joining the wine club so I’m looking forward to many more visits. The petite blue is absolutely amazing.

No grape wine, but all good fruit wines. And a good deli too!

Jake Craven

Very nice place and super helpful. The wines are not made of grapes like traditional wines. They are fruit wines made of other fruit such as blueberries.

This place is absolutely amazing. I have been a member for a few years now and have never been disappointed. They're always stepping up their game in coming out with something new. And always a very warm and friendly feel. I consider Them my friends and every time I saw been and greeted with a huge smile and always ask me how I am how is life and they are genuinely intrested. Excellent customer service, extremely knowledgeable staff, great wine. What more could you want? Went in on a whim not knowing much about the winery, and ended up doing a tasting and leaving with a couple bottles. I will also say I'm new to drinking wine and I was treated very well and offered helpful advice. Thank you Hermit Woods Winery!

Bryan Doyon

Good and varied fruit wines and meads. Only visited in the summer but was told the selection changes for seasons. Worth a stop when in Meredith.

Jorge Delgadillo

There is a reason this place has been called one of the top 500 in this country, the team is passionate, the products are inventive and quality is impeccable. they provide a very informative tour where you can see their impressive fermenting tanks and the wine making process plus the wine tasting is well priced and the deli offers great locally sourced Charcuterie boards... this place is a great way to spend a couple of hours and bring home some delicious wine.

This is one of the stops in My Best Friend's bachelorette party and we had so much fun. We booked a private tour and got it from one of the owners who then also did our wine tasting Kama he was so much fun and so knowledgeable and he worked really well with us. Their wines were great a little something for everyone. would definitely recommend stopping by here, I will be looking for their Wines in store
