My hubby and I were up at Haunting Whispers Vineyards recently and loved it. First, the facility itself is beautiful. We were able to taste 5 or 6 different wines, in a nice relaxed manner. We didn't feel rushed at all, were able to take our time and enjoy each one. We left with a bottle of the Vingoir and Edelweiss, both very good. I will say, we tasted the wines as being sweeter than described...what they called off-dry we found to be semi-sweet, their semi -sweet to be sweet. We will definitely be back next season!

It's good and worth a stop if you are driving by but be prepared for a science lesson - which was fun. A couple of gems particularly the Chardonnay and the maple cream liquer, but the reds, it was agreed by all, could use some work. More a winery/distillery than vineyard as the varietals grown locally are only a fraction of the production so don't expect much in the way of a "vineyard" experience. Still, happy that locals are making a go of it and think they are deserving of our support so drink up Nahampsha! (ayup and you Flatlandahs too!)

Stopped here last year over Thanksgiving weekend. Not only are the wines and spirits to die for, the owners were so lovely to help us out when our car got stuck in the snow. Patient and kind and let us just hang around in their tasting room till the tow truck arrived. All that on top of a great product.

I love to recommend this vineyard to anyone visiting the area or traveling through. Beautiful location in the heart of NH. Very friendly owners. Close to Ragged Mt Ski Area, the Northern Rail Trail and Newfound Lake. Danbury Country Store just down the street is another favorite stop for me.

My wife and I were on vacation staying at Half Moon Lake in Alton, NH. We like trying new wineries and read about this one which was a 1.5 hour drive. We went on Thursday and we were lucky enough to be the only ones there. The owner was mowing the grass and drove up to us on his riding lawn mower. We went inside a gorgeous pine board finished interior with 2 large viewing windows of various brewing devices. My wife wanted to sample the reds and I wanted the Spirits. You get to sample 6 selections for a fee, which is waived off if you purchase 2 bottles or more. The owner who is the wine maker / distiller was super knowledgeable as he and his wife are the only 2 people running this operation. And can easily answer any and all questions you may have. I will not go into more detail of our visit, but it was the most efficient tasting we have ever been too. As after each wine or spirit tasting, he rinses each glass with running water, to remove any taste of the previous wine or spirit --- very professional -- and definitely adds another level of getting the true taste of your next sampling. We have been to about 20 wineries and 3 distilleries and none ever water rinse the glass. But before you get any samples he has the cards made up of the wines or Spirits you want to try from a very neatly printed listing with descriptions. You write down the 6 you want to try and he has you sample them in the order he knows is best for tasting. Plus he gives you the cards after...with the ones you choose to purchase. Very beautiful location with great views and plenty of parking at the top of a hill..try it, you will not be disappointed in any way.......

My parents moved to Danbury about 2 years ago now. I've since moved to Australia, but they still reside there. I must say, that this is one of the finest wineries I've ever encountered, EVEN having lived in beautiful Australia now for a year and a half (And trust me, aussies love their alcohol, so that's a big compliment). They have probably the best selection of fun flavored dessert wines in the world (No, this is not your average semillon or ice wine), and they always make each bottle with the finest ingredients. (Which is insane, considering how CHEAP they sell them for!!) I have been craving some of the peach wine since I moved away, I wish I could get it shipped here!!! This place is lovely, and the owners are lovely. Please disregard any low reviews you see from entitled a**holes in the review section, they ARE NOT a reflection of this business.

Our party of four made the trip from Western Vermont to visit this vineyard, and take in all it had to offer. Upon our arrival, the grounds were we'll kept, and the views from the parking area were worthy of a few pictures. Unfortunately, from that point on, my experience soured. We entered a well-designed building, with peek-a-boo windows showing off the polished wine making process. A nice touch. One attendant at the tasting bar had yet to greet us. He was hosting a small group of four or five well dressed folks, giving them an education and tending to their every need. We finally received a quick hello when we walked up to the tasting area in our Jeans and Sweat shirts.. A few pleasantries were passed at us in between taking care of his "other" clientele. So, here is the kicker for me. We are believers in supporting the local wineries and vineyards. Our experience from the customer standpoint was just not good. We felt somewhat profiled and made to feel less than. Did we enjoy the wine? Yes and no. That's why we taste. That's why we ended up buying several bottles from this vineyard before we left. The "others" left after their tasting without as much as a magnet for their fridge. I don't care how good your product is, if you can't relate to people from all walks of life and diversity, it won't sell. When that door opens, say hello, and treat me like I'm your last customer. I just might be.

Being a successful business owner is hard enough without negative fake reviews.. (Or even a review without the opportunity to make it right, even Ebay allows you to do that) I look forward to visiting this place of business now that I know it exists. If I have I poor experience, I will correct my stars appropriately. But something tells me. Some Masshole princess decided to get all her friends together and ruin someones reputation.. cause by the looks of her other reviews she has not to many nice to say about other companies either ..

Great find - great tasting wine! Eric conducted our wine tasting, which was fabulous! He is very knowledgeable and provided us with some great insight into how the wines were made and how they originated. We enjoyed everything we sampled. Our stop was on an overcast day, but the view was still beautiful. We will definitely be back on a better weather day to check out the view and buy more wine!
