Very nice folks, they were accommodating during our tasting there. They feature delicious locally produced and bottled white and red wines. There's a very nice upstairs outdoor patio overlooking the St. Croix river! Beautiful.

Stopped through while staying in Stillwater for our 10th wedding anniversary. We were greeted warmly by the staff and had the six wine tasting. As with all wine tastings, not every wine is going to be for everyone, but there is certainly at least on in the tasting that will please your tastebuds. You can even purchase your favorite bottle and take it up to their patio to enjoy.

The people were reasonably friendly, but the wines were crap. Didn't like a single one.

A must-stop for 21+ wine lovers, Northern Vineyards Winery is an excellent place to pre-game before touring the town. The staff is very friendly, talkative, and will usually give you more to "sample" than what you've purchased. Visit during the summer and enjoy sipping wine from local Minnesota grapes while taking in the view of the river and lift-bridge from their vine-covered balcony.

Lots of fun!

Cold weather grapes rule, I love them and the wine they produce. Call me crazy.... This isn't California? The hell you say. I've never been to a more friendly or inviting winery. The prices, comparatively, are very reasonable. But.... Closed at 6 pm? Seriously

Randy Resnick

Yes, Minnesota makes wine (as do all 50 states). Yes, you can taste it here for $9. PS varietal is a wine, variety is a grape.

Took my GF to a few Wineries in Stillwater for her birthday a few weeks ago. Our first stop was Northern Vineyards. The layout, while small, was cozy and authentic. The wine was extremely unimpressive however. We both did a tasting and out of the ten wines we tried, there was literally one that we considered buying. The rest were just flat out, not very good. The wine "expert" was nice but not particularly knowledgeable. She seemed to be reading from a script. One of the wines had a bit of carbonation, which we asked about, and the expert says that some bottles have that carbonation, others do not. Suprise! Seems like an issue with their bottling process. We did end up going to Saint Croix Wineyards afterwards and they were great. I'd suggest going there instead.

Amazing service. Great wine

Nice place! Wine is ok. Not super impressed.

Jackie Montpetit

Friendly welcoming staff who accommodated us even on an unexpectedly busy day! The wine with cheese/chocolate pairings was a fun and delicious experience. We will definitely be back!

Fun place to try a few wines. I'm not super experienced and they were totally willing to help out. Their mezzanine on the second floor is awesome, offers a great view of the bridge. Perfect photo-op if you get there early.

My sister in laws and I went there yesterday. We had a great time and loved sampling their wines. The bar tender was so fun and provided us great customer service. I ended up buying a bottle of their main street red and their main street white. They were by far my favorite ones. The only thing i would change is their hours, it would be nice if they were open later. Im sure they would get more customers that way.

Cozy, but more of a wine bar. We were looking for something g more like a vineyard, but obviously that's tough in downtown Stillwater. We weren't particular fond of any of the wines include I the tasting, but that's more personal preference.

I went for a tour during a Coop Conference, the attention was great, the rose wine was delicious with the pizza & salad; the view is nice.

Andy Cosgrove

Did their wine tasting. Was a fun thing to do for something a little different.

Amber Weekley

Their red wines are not my favorite, but the whites are decent and they have a great location. There is an amazing deck overlooking the river upstairs. We like to buy some cheese, fruit and snacks at the coop, buy a bottle of wine from Northern Vineyards, and hang out on the deck. They also have a bunch of board games to play.

Ok so first off, I don't really consider myself a wine snob. But I am from Oregon. So that probably gives me some standards that others don't have. Well, I mean, Maybe. Potentially. The wine was great! Sometimes in the Upper Midwest, there is a tendency for overly sweet wine..but their wines are not super sweet...and I like that. That being said....if you are one of those people who like drinking sweet "wine" this place is not for you. One of my absolute favorite Minnesota reds I have had was from here...St Croix! Try it! Also, when I go wine tasting I go for the experience not just the wine. The girl behind the counter was great. So knowledgeable! I will be back

I have bought wine here many times, great service and, well, great wine. Check them out next time you are in Stillwater.

Fun stop in Stillwater for wine tasting. Good selection of wines and a knowledgable person to guide you through them. The outdoor deck with a grest view of the river would be even more fun, but we were there in the fall and it was snowing. Will go back next year in the summer to try it out!

PV Ramesh

I have been there on 8th October 2017. The price offered for wine tasting is quite cheaper 7 bucks for 7 varieties. This place is quite cool and very good. Reception peoples are very good and they allowed outside food to enjoy on stairs. I wish my next visit this vineyard will part of my itinerary.

Jason Winn

The people were great. Friendly and awesome service. The wines were ok. Not like I'm a super wine snob, but mad dog 20/20 and boons farm I think are better. But the place is nice, wines not my style.

We came last year, for a get away. We did a wine tasting and the service here was wonderful, the lady was so nice and helpful! The wine was amazing and we loved! Can't wait to come back.

I have never liked wine from MN before coming to this winery! The balcony is awesome and I have yet to try a wine here I have disliked. You must try the St. Croix Reserve!

Isabelle Gomez

Started off our bachelorette here, seemed like a fun and convenient location, but the wine was NOT good and neither was the service...Great views of the St. Croix River though! :/

Katie Brown

Nasty wine.

Jeremy Fisk

Unfortunate aftertaste with each wine we tried.

Went in for a tasting with friends and the customer service was very poor. Also, not a fan of the wines. They were too sweet.

Conrad Lawson

Stephen Corbett

Very unfortunate experience. I’m a red wine person and theirs was so bad that I preferred their white wine. All of their wines had a rotten aftertaste. The Bartender didn’t know what she was talking about. It was very sad that we had to pay $9 each for such an awful experience.

I have been to this winery several times over the last couple of years and can honestly say that the wine is not that good. I know that people have their own wine preferences, but when comparing this winery to others in the region I would have to rate this one last in the list. They have a nice patio on the second floor with a view of the river, but you have to tolerate the wine to enjoy it. I'm not sure what awards these wines have won, but if they were the only winery entering then the award has to go to someone. If you go I would recommend going with one of their sweeter wines, but if you're looking for a red wine you should try another close by vineyard.

Jo Jo

Yummy stuff. Great Tasting. Alex from the Hotel Crosby recommended us to visit you, and boy are we glad that he did.

Amanda Ryan-Schmoll

Not the most helpful staff. We had to make eye contact and ask each time we wanted another tasting. They don't have their own vineyard but rather work on a co-op with their grapes. Could've been magnificent with their awesome location downtown by the river but the staff's personalities could use some work.

Quentin Ikuta

Had a nice tasting of about 6 wines here, both white and red. The wines are naturally sweeter because the grapes that grow in MN contain more sugar than the grapes from, say, California. Don’t expect oaky, overly complex, dark wines here. The wine is great considered it’s locally produced. Stop in for a Tasting and experience Minnesota wine.

Jon Peterson

excellent deck to enjoy some reasonably priced wines!

Robert Young

Great place, great setting... Loved the Frotenac Gris...

Lisa H

Tasting went well, though it was blistering hot inside the testing room and the folks serving us were sweating profusely. The wine was OK, not the best. But, we bought some anyway. One week later I noticed dripping from my wine rack, and sure enough one of their bottles had already gone BAD. Sad, not going back.

Nick Amell

Great people, great Minnesota wines

Alissia Kreger

Terrible service during our wine tasting. I felt like just a number instead of being treated as a paying customer. Not personable at all and kind of pushy. We got no menus and were barely told what we were trying, the wine was terrible. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!
