I would give five stars for the server. Minus five stars for my experience with the manager. Our awesome server motioned to my aunt if she wanted anything else and my aunt requested a glass of wine. The manager thought my aunt was talking to her and responded "everyone wants something. I will get to you when I can." Hopefully she won't be working when you go. Couldn't meet our eyes before we left. When my cousin told her she was disrespectful towards her mom, the manager rolled her eyes and said "sorry" insincerely.

Live music and great experience.

When you can get service it's great to sit on the patios with good wine and pizza. Last time we waited way too long, but were at least acknowledged. This time after 15 minutes and even going inside to tell them where we were and still not being acknowledged we just left.

Courtney Barnes

Horrible service, stood there ... never served. She didn’t even acknowledge our existence. We left without tasting any wine.

Best Gluten Free Pizza ever eaten. Grapes of Wrath with Red wine is a must try. Wish we lived close enough to visit often.

Sue Longmire Scherer

First date with a wonderful man. Not sure if it was the ambiance or the man I fell in love with first. Pizza, wine and service are wonderful... And the man... We are living happily ever after. And still enjoy the winery all the time.

Amanda Nelson

Hardest working ladies I know! Best pizza you will have and there are nice wine selections. The back patio has a beautiful view of the vinyards. I love the ladies that work there. They are all so much fun!

Donald Overlander

This is a small scale winery, with a top-shelf, yet local vibe. The food definitely lived up to the high expectations we had every time we have visited. Selection of wines is very nice and the personnel are friendly and capable. Overall this is definitely a place I would recommend for a nice evening dinner with your significant other.

I enjoyed this winery and thought the atmosphere was great. We had a wonderful server who was pleasant and knowledgeable. However, our server motioned to my mother and my mother asked for a glass of wine. A woman who we later learned was the manager walked in front of our server and then said "everyone wants something. Wait your turn". She then proceeded to avoid eye contact with us for the rest of our time there. Our server apologized to us multiple times. i understand that it was busy but feel that there are nicer ways of communicating that, especially since my mother did not ask for wine in a disrespectful way. I was very disappointed.

The view was fantasic, and the patio is nice. But I definitely won't be back. There was nobody in the store where you can do tastings, so we sat on the patio. No free water, so you need to buy a water bottle (inconvenient and terrible for the environment). The bottle of wine came open already - they didn't open it at the table, which is unusual. Also, I am pretty certain the bruchetta had canned tomatoes. Service was mediocre and not very friendly.

Dan Traun

Great place to enjoy a glass of wine and wood-fires pizza on the patio. Nice place for a stroll around the grounds as well.

Christina Martin

The service for wine tasting was fabulous!! All the wine is wonderful. My two favorites are Maple Red and Snowy White. Sarah, Amanda and Sam are all amazing and knowledgeable about the wine that is served. The pizza is also delicious. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck, it is so beautiful.

Have been here before and will be back! Great people, wine, and atmosphere!

Rob Barnett

Loved the atmosphere! Service was great for us! I really enjoyed the Hunter Red. Dry but flavorfull. We will return.

Employees hardly acknowledge your existence. Bought a few tastings and they poured our glasses and walked away. Barely any seating in the place. Turns out they had live music going on some where and we had no idea. Wine wasn't very good so I'll avoid this place from now on.

clint kempfer

This place is a quaint, quiet, but unbelievably beautiful place to sit and have a bottle of wine, cheese plate, or a wonderful wood fired pizza. I will admit the front of the building does not match the back, but trust me, check it out.

Shannon Reimer

Very good food and service. Nice and peaceful, relaxing environment. Highly recommend going here. Great beverages.

Jesse Carroll

Wonderful place to have lunch and drink some wine. Great staff and quite tasty wine.

Crystal Lyne

First time there this weekend. Wasn’t impressed with the customer service. Very snooty. First and last experience.

Paul Hallberg

Best on our wine tour so far, excellent staff, awesome pizza great wine

Rod Stevens

Our tasting lady was drunk and rude, went out to patio to get a new person so we could have a tasting, wine was fantastic, also the 1st lady told the couple next to us the wine sucks unless you're drunk then laughed, they left.

Diana Eide

We did a tasting but also had pizza. They have a great assortment of wine. We found many we enjoyed. The pizza is wood fired and is very tasty. Would strongly suggest stopping here.

This was the first time I had a chambourcin and I loved it! I will definitely be searching for this wine in the twin cities.

Val Tuenge

This is by far my favorite place to visit. We live about 1 1/2 hours away and it is well worth our trip. My favorite wine comes from Falconer's (LaCrescent)! It is so relaxing to spend an afternoon on the deck overlooking the vineyards, sipping wine, eating fabulous pizza and enjoying live music! We've been here many times and the staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. We've never felt rushed, only pampered. Thanks for a great experience! If I could, I'd give you 6 stars!

Ryan Larson

Had a great time here sampling wines. Was a big fan of the cider and some of the whites. Extremely helpful staff and I bet the place is gorgeous in the summer when it isnt covered in snow. Cannot wait to check out their outdoor patio sometime in the summer as well.

Barbara Faulkner

Great wines and great staff very friendly

Matt Tur

Great atmosphere, nice owner, beautiful view from the back deck over looking the vineyard

Jack Ziegler

Amazing place. Beautiful views. Super good wines. Definitely try the pizza here too. All around we had an amazing experience here, if you're thinking about coming here, you definitely should.

Mary Davis

Excellent wine and cozy atmosphere for a winter trip

Erik Laing

Great place for a casual date. The pizzas are very good, especially the grapes of wrath and you can order a little of wine to share. Whatever you don't finish can be re corked to transport home legally.

My husband and I visited for the first time during their Halloween party. We had an absolute blast! The wine was wonderful, tasting room beautiful, pizza delicious and above all everyone was so incredibly friendly. It felt like we were welcomed into a friend's house party with open arms. Definitely plan to go back next time we're in the area!

This place is a local place and probably wouldn't survive in any urban area. It was absolutely packed, but the service for wine tasting was terrible. The pizza was good, but the wines are not. If you've visited any good wineries in Minnesota/Wisconsin, you'll be completely turned off by the wines. As we were leaving, a server said, "are these people STILL here?". If you are looking for a local place to hang out, I'm sure it's fine. If you are looking for a winery, try Villa Bellezza 45 minted away - such a classy place!

This is a charming and magical place that can seemingly transport you to the countryside of Tuscany. With great wine, stone oven baked pizzas and the rolling hills view you can easily feel as if you are no longer in Red Wing, Minnesota.

Cannot Rate the Pizza, Cannot Rate the Wine,,, I called a week in advance for a larger party of 18, was told a couple of times that would work, and if we were going to be late call from the road,,, we were going to be late, called 3 hours ahead of time,,, Guy says thanks for letting us know... We show up to be told by someone who was NOT at all Customer Service Trained, WE DONT take reservations for wine tastings and you will have to go outside and buy a bottle because we are very busy!.... Walks away, comes back and says the Same thing,,, !!!! Thanks we had a Great time in Hastings...

There are loads of reasons to love this place. I am going to talk about 4 of them: 1) the wine; 2) the wood-fired pizza; 3) the service; and 4) the amazing Martin Zellar. 1. The wine was excellent. We tried Marquette (a red) and Snowy White (a white). The Marquette was a bit sweeter than I was expecting but still delicious. The Snowy White was quite refreshing and brilliant, especially given it was a warm day. The hints of pineapple in it were amazing! 2. There are a wide variety of unique wood-fire pizza options to choose from. I went for the Thai Chicken and it was fabulous. Not disappointed! On a side note, I am not certain what makes their crust different here but it was so delicious that I ate it. Usually I don't--that's just the way I've been my whole life. 3. Our server, Brittany, was so attentive, informative, and efficient. She could not have done a better job--and it was really busy. She's amazing and I hope she's thoroughly appreciated! 4. We came to Falconer Vineyards for Martin Zellar, in specific. We've been following him and his groups for a long time...a really long time! Seeing the acoustic show here while enjoying everything else was phenomenal. So, if you love music and have the chance to indulge here--indulge! Thank you for the wonderful experience, Falconer Vineyards!

Great wine, fantastic pizza, gorgeous patio view

Kerstin Suby

Only reason I give it one star is that we arrived during advertised hours but it was closed. My husband and I arrived there around 7:30 pm on a Friday night and everything was dark, even though the hours on the door (and on the internet) said open until 8 pm. I called and a gentleman told me that as the days get darker sooner and people stop coming, they send their staff home. I understand that - so please change your advertised hours or at least put up a sign on the door apologizing for the early closure.

My sexy hubs and I came here after visiting Randy’s. We had a great time in Red Wing on the first beautiful day in Minnesota 2019. Our visit to Falconer Vinyards was wonderful, we loved the wine tasting and bought a bottle of the Spring Flight (yummy tastes of pineapple). Service was great, owner was present, and we loved the balcony views.

We arrived for a tasting today at 5:20, and they were closed. We drove far out of our way to come today. Very unprofessional.

James Westphal

Great atmosphere, staff was wonderful and attentive with amazing view!!!

Nessa Riggs

The wine tastings are pretty expensive and you don’t get to pick which wines you taste. That was pretty disappointing, especially since I ended up finding my favorite wine when I was eating on the patio. I didn’t like any we tasted very much. The atmosphere is gorgeous, but parking is pretty awful. Especially to get to the extra parking. Pizza could have been cooked longer, but the Grapes of Wrath pizza toppings were a perfect combination!

Danielle G

Wines were much too sweet and the gal doing our wine tasting didn't offer much information or seem to care if we enjoyed our experience. However, the wood fired pizza was pretty good and they have a lot of options. The patio out back was beautiful and relaxing.

Tech Support

Authentic wood-fired pizza.

Chris McGuire

Strongly disliked the 6 sample wines. Gal behind the bar was extremely rude upon our arrival. Gal serving the wine tasting was much more friendly and did provide some brief descriptions of the wine. Fell far short of expectations.

Curt Richter

One of the best LaCrescent wines I've ever tried! Had the pleasure of speaking with John who was very passionate about his wines.

Joseph Anderson

Not worth the rude service! To give an unbiased opinion: they had rude and slow service, tiny samples, a great setting, and good pizza. We waited about 10 minutes for our first acknowledgement and I was handed a soapy wine glass and when I mentioned that it had soap on it, the server rudely responded that it was just water. We waited another 10 minutes between our 1st and 2nd wine sample. She walked past us numerous times and even emptied out the tip glass directly in front of us in while we had empty glasses waiting for our 2nd sample. Eventually two friendlier staff members served us. Although, first impressions are a killer and I will not be returning to this vineyard.

Jess Dudley

Our waitress was awesome. Wine, pizza and a view that never get tiring

Not sure of they have changed staff since the previous reviews, but the staff we had were very friendly. The wine is ok...the scenery is fantastic. If you can't afford a trip to Sonoma this will do :)

Nici Peper

Great wine and staff!!

We've been here three times over the last six months, and our service has been exceptional. Wonderful servers and a perfect variety of wines for tasting. It's a little small for indoor seating, so I can imagine that during busy times it can get a little hectic, but we've been very well taken care of even if the place was full. The outdoor seating and deck are phenomenal. Glad to visit again soon!

julie maher

Jackie was fabulous! Thank you for making our anniversary special with a big smile, quick wit and knowledge of wines!

Ashley Smith

We visited Falconer Vineyards as part of a tour of 8 Minnesota Wineries, and we too experienced very rude service. Our server did not explain anything about the wines; she just said "what's next?" and poured the next wine on our list. When we did ask questions, she responded very curtly. A couple next to us asked if they could sit down at one of the tables to sample the wines, and she rudely told them that the tables are for people who order pizza. The wines at Falconer were very good, and the scenery was beautiful, but due to the poor service, we will not be returning.

Justin Dybedahl

Great little winery with a nice relaxing feel. The wines were really good and they let you take a self guided tour around the grounds. It's was a little confusing for us at first on where you go for the tasting. Tastings are in the front at the bar and food is in the back on the patio. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Donovan Herrboldt

We stopped here on our way out of Redwing. The view and atmosphere was awesome! The wine was great and the Thai Chicken Pizza was delicious!! We can’t wait for our next visit!

Katie Martin

Evelyn Hoover

Great brick oven pizza. Gluten free crust is available. Nice selection of wine and cider.

Mary D

Quality wines and a beautiful atmosphere

Rob Rydberg

We have been there several times over the last five years and we also noticed the staff getting a bit surly and sloppy the last couple of times. The wines will vary from year to year, for a variety of reasons. That is wine. You take the good and the bad and try to make it better. The service though, that is something else. In 2009 we were treated like royalty. By 2012, we were just another problem. Pizza was great, The wines were ok. Together, that does not excite us enough to be regulars. The owner/winemaker is a neat guy and has some great stories., keep him in the front of the house if you can!

Greg Slaby

Megan Murphy

Horrible service

Wenzel K

Nice place to watch live music and take in a fantastic wood fire cook pizza. The wine is also very tasty.

Tyghe Vallard

What a fantastic place. Really pretty. Staff is awesome.

Kristi Johnson

I truly enjoyed my first visit to the vineyard .. thanks to my future daughter in law!! It is the most beautiful property, the wine and pizza we're fabulous and of course I can't forget to mention the golden retriever, Cedar. I highly recommend a trip to Falconer's .. I can't wait to go back

The place is very small with limited parking. To enter the overflow parking you have to go down a steep hill and out a steep hill. Be sure to drive a bigger car or you'll end up damaging your car or getting it stuck. The wine tasting area was very small seating only 8 - 10 people at a time, with 2 ladies helping and it was really busy when when got there 1 hr 30 min after it opened. It was not organized at all on who was there first, you'd have to stand behind the tasters until they moved. After 40 mins without wine tasting we decided to go out to the deck and have lunch instead. It was not busy but they were poorly staffed for a Saturday. They only had 1 cashier, 1 lady taking orders and the owner bringing out the customers orders (mistakenly giving us 2 pizzas we did not order) and 1 lady making the pizzas. We waited 45 mins without ever ordering or getting anything to drink so we just left. The staff was nice and greeted us but that was all. We bought 2 bottles instead, Frontenac Rose´ and Chambourcin which are semi-sweet wines and it was very bland. There was not even a hint of sweetness to this. What a waste of time.. 40 mins drive, 40 mins waiting without wine tasting, 45 mins waiting to place an order, and 40 mins driving back home.

Adam Kobler

This was my first time visiting Falconer and I was very pleasantly surprised! Their cider is great and I would highly recommend it. The staff has fun and is knowledgeable about their offerings. Great place to go with friends or for a romantic evening!

Shawn Ogden

David Stern

The staff was very rude and unprofessional. They didn't explain too much about their products the wine. It seem that they didn't care about it. But the fire roasted pizza was the highlight. I would go back for the pizza but not for the wine or service.

Angela Sieg-Bruhn

Good wine and unique wood fired pizza. Recommend stopping for a sip on the patio.

Ryan Hickey

Wow, what a beautiful location to not get any service or even be acknowledged for 25 minutes. Wish I could say more but after trying to get served at the wine bar inside, the main area out back and the lower level I can honestly say I can't think of a worse service experience. The wine must be great to put up with such negligent customer service. It was just terrible.

Rajvi Mehta

This is my FAVORITE winery in Minnesota. The wines are amazing, the people are awesome, and you can't beat the view.

Cindy Bruce

Always enjoy! Beautiful view.

Rio

It was the second winery of the day and the first one being very disappointing, I wasn’t excited to go to this place. But when we got there, it was wonderful little place with great staffs! I am going back there a week later with my husband because I must share this place with him! It’s a nice mini trip from the twin cities and a place want to keep going back!
