You will be able to see all the information of real people who are using the products and services of Chateau Grand Traverse Winery (Winery) in the area close to Michigan.
Nowadays this firm has a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 and that score is based on 151 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is nearly the highest, and it's based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the score is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they are happy with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to set feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

Mady was super knowledgeable and fun to talk with! We had a great time. Will be back tomorrow for Romancing the Riesling!
My personal favorite winery in the area. The scenery is amazing and the outdoor patio is perfect to relax and enjoy your wine while being surrounded by the vineyard. They offer little tours of their wine making process every hour which is also really cool. Their wine is some of the best as well. Be sure to add this one on your checklist while wine tasting.
The best view of our wine tour. I got a flight of all the cherry stuff. Liked them all! Charcuterie plate was wonderful. Kris and Taylor were awesome.
Excellent place, very beautiful atmosphere! Great staff! We will be going back!
My favorite winery. The spiced cherry and their double gold cherry port were delicious. Brought a bottle home for 6 bucks. Ken was a fantastic bartender and host.
Love everything about this place. Always have. Brought my husband here for our honeymoon this weekend. Wonderful wine friendly staff and a lovely environment.
Was probably one of my favorites out of them all on the peninsula thank you for Great service and great wine
Great wines
A more touristy winery with wonderful views but less quality service. If you come in during a busy hour you get lined up to wait for bar counter style service and the sommeliers seen less likely to give you a quality experience.
Take the time to visit château winery some of the best wine on the peninsula. Buy it take it home and enjoy.
Everything about this place is wonderful! My (now) fiancée and I stayed at the inn here just over a week ago. We were lucky enough to catch a tour of the winery, did a few tastings, learned a ton about winemaking, and of course, came home with some incredible wine. Their staff are all friendly and incredibly knowledgeable on the process and science behind making wine. Special thanks to Ann who helped me coordinate my proposal on their scenic overlook deck! Out of all the wineries on the peninsula, this is without a doubt our favorite for so many reasons! We will absolutely be back, many times.
Wonderful service and atmosphere!
The wines are pretty good!!! Only reason I haven't been here before is their wine is mass produced and I can get it downstate.....now that I've actually tried it I will probably get some down there!!!! A great stop if you're on the peninsula!!!!
Went there for a wineery visit. It is the most educational and knowledgeable. The process of making wine was explained by staff and they were so friendly. Had 6 kinds of beer tasting. I recommend visit this place if you are in Traverse city.
One of our favorite wines/wineries
Good experience would recommend when in the area. $3 and $5 tastings very reasonable.
Very nice place. If you like wine.
I purchased the cherry wine which has a plastic "cork" which I first had to pick some of the top off and then my husband finally got it opened with a corkscrew. The wine itself is not fruity like Blue Nun or Boone's Farm but doesn't take like cherries either. Would definitely not purchase from this winery again mostly due to the fake "cork". Also, it smells unpleasant. I poured it down the drain. My husband said it smelled like vinegar.
Big selection but nothing special. Good wine for a group.
Wonderful place!
Enjoyable tasting and friendly staff.
The service was amazing, ALL the wines were exceptional and had multiple that have won awards! They offer $3 off a wine purchase if you do a tasting and they also offer WOMP and Vintage Wine Club discounts! Highly recommend!!
During a 22 person family reunion, our shuttle service gave Chateau Grand Traverse several weeks notice that we would be coming for a tasting and the precise time. Upon arrival, however, they had done nothing different to prepare and we therefore had too long of a wait for tastings to fit with our 45-50 minutes allotted to stop there. They were curt and their attitudes implied that the problem was our faulty expectations versus their poor planning and customer service. In sum, we would have much preferred to stay at large group friendly locations like Bower's Harbor or Chateau Chantal!
The wine tasting was great and the discount for the bottles after makes it worth it
Good wine but check out another story. They shipped our wine via usps ground. It is all been over heated and no good. Don’t ship!
Good selection of vines
Love it! I vs I visit every time I'm in the area.
My rating is about the vineyard since I don't drink wine. The store has many options of souvenirs, but I missed grape juice for selling. It would be amazing to find it there.
Best wines in all the land
Luv the Spiced Cherry wine
Favorite winery in TC area that we visited.
We did a sampling and the tour of the winery. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and involved our children with a very detailed learning experience of how wine is made and processed. The spiced cherry was our favourite!
Pinnacle experience next to seeing the entire pennisula. Breath taking views. Can pick fruit just up the road on the left.
My only complaint is that the walls are way too thin. We had good neighbors, but it would have been a nightmare if we didn't. Everything else was spectacular.
Prices on wine are great. Neat gift shop and patio to sit on. I come here every year and it’s a reliably nice time. Neat they’re branching into cold brew coffee - they also have reasonable price rooms to stay.
Enjoyed the tour and the friendly atmosphere. I am sitting here in Mid-November enjoying a glass of the Cherry Riesling. Great wine!!
What a wonderful experience. From the facilities to the staff and their wines. Wonderful time.
Classic Rieslings. One of the original OM wineries that actually grow their own grapes.
I absolutely love the CGT late harvest Chardonnay. I give it often as gifts to my friends with a discerning palate. For the rookies, they get the CGT late harvest riesling. The last time in TC, I bought a case of each. I'm due for another trip as my LH Chardonnay is running low. How I discovered you, I don't know, but I'm sure glad I did and highly recommend these two wines to everybody. The LH Chardonnay is a bit on the semi dry side and the LH riesling is sweet.
Amazing experience! Highly recommend for your next get away. Friendly staff, sweet views and good food.
A great place to taste and buy VERY good wines. Serving bar was clean and staff was knowledgeable of the wines they served. Prices were perfect.
Nice can!
One word: Pretentious. Our wine tasting girl was really cute, kind, and knowledgable. But the atmosphere was stuck up. Even in OFF season with hardly anyone there. My husband said... "Advice to managers: Stop acting like everyone who walks in the door should be a millionaire." Very sad as we were expecting a way better experience. The wine and atmosphere is better at Black Star Farms
Delicious!
Clean professional staff and atmosphere. Large winery ran well. The wines are good, consistent and inexpensive relive to the good quality. Wines tend to lean toward the sweet side is if that is your jam this is your place.
Doors too spring loaded
It's a fun place, my wife and sister love going there for wine Wednesday, I've been there for an event, and the setting is nice, the staff are friendly. Overall a very pleasant experience.
Always love this place however today it was very disappointing. The very smallest pours compared to all the other wineries
The staff was very friendly and they had a large selection. We purchased two tasting packages because there were so many to choose from. There is a beautiful back patio off the tasting room- perfect to enjoy a glass of wine on a warm day. My boyfriend recommends the Cherry Spiced wine- ask them to warm it up. It tastes like Christmas!
Fantastic pricing, amazing wine, and friendly, informative staff. Well worth my time spent there.
Oui oui. Good wine. Coupons with tastings. Nice deck.
Did this as part of a 4 winery wine tour. Service was great and wine was delicious. Scenery was beautiful and place was very clean and modern
Oldest and most elegant and tasteful wines on the trail. Since 1974. Huge selection of wines and some special selections of reserve with case production under 400 cases a year. This was ranked in my top three of many wineries visited. Don’t miss this out on this stop
The Tankhaus was amazing! So warm and cozy. And it even had WI-FI. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. And the breakfast in bed was a real plus. I loved the Riesling pancakes. And the service was the best, thanks to our wonderful servers Curtis and Meghan. Thanks Chateau Grand Traverse. We will definitely return for another weekend stay at The Tankhaus. Tom Emmott
Very good wine at very fair prices. I appreciate that the tasting fee can be included towards purchase of bottles. Please keep that policy as is, if not free.
I've enjoyed their wine and their suites are amazing.
Beautiful atmosphere a decent selection of wines with a long wait for food and wines. Wirth a stop of you go early enough to avoid crowds go before 1pm. Service is good.
Beautiful facility with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Oh, and very delicious wines (both dry and sweet)!
Decent.
Steve was very rude and abrupt...ruined the whole birthday experience and vibe.
Nice place nowledgable staff good people.
We had a great time sampling the wine. John was very informative about the different wines we selected to try. They had more reds than usual this year on hand as the crop was better than previous years.
Loved the tasting and the view from the back!
FABULOUS!!!
Friendly staff, great wine, NOT over priced, beautiful views!
Great place to taste test. Very informative
Absolutely love their late harvest riesling, so tasty.
Wine was nice, staff not so much. We had a flight of wine on the patio which costs more than the tasting. Apparently there is a coupon that is only avaliable to those who go through the tasting experience. We asked if they served food and an abrupt NO was given, even though they have a small offering of light fare.
Their wines are so delicious and the staff is the most knowledgable that we've met up here! They had a lot to choose from and offered 6 samples for free. Pay the $2 to try Botrytis Riesling!!! This has been my favorite winery so far.
I like the new tasting room, and the whole cluster riesling.
Muito bons vinhos e ótimo lugar.
I loved their variety of cherry wine, but not the wait getting it. I purchased their sweet water, which was amazing. Their Grand Traverse late harvest was phenomenal as well for anyone who loves sweet whites. Didn't have any great views but I played in their grapes. Would return for their cheap prices! $3 for 5 tastings, $5 includes their reserve wine options.
One of my favorite wineries. Tastings were delicious and the prices reasonable for wine.
Too small. People on busses think they are entitled to cut everyone in line. Not a good system. Staff should concern themselves with everyone's experience, not just large groups
Great wine with a amazing view a friendly service
Great Place to Sample and Buy some of Michigan's wines.
This place has a very sophisticated ambiance. Everything about it was very meticulous and clean. The wine tasting was the best that we had in Traverse City. The cherry wines were especially unique and noteworthy. We also took a guided tour of the vineyards and winery, which were amazing. The guide was very patient with all of our questions and really took the time to explain and elaborate on everything that he could.
The best wine and their people know their stuff.
Beautiful B & B, loved the location, our gorgeous room, and the winery itself. The breakfasts were fantastic, the service was ideal, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful rooms with a lovely view, loved the common ares and the hospitality.
The staff, service, wines and prices are the best in the area. I've been to 5-6 wineries and this is by far the favorite. A must go.
Awesome gift shop.
Stopped in and sampled their wine. Bought a beautiful wine glass & 6 bottles of wine total, because even my husband liked them! Score!
The view is awesome
Excellent wine selection (especially for a Riesling lover like my wife and I)! The server said they produce over 18% of all Michigan's Riesling. Very nice service and exceptionally proceed wines. I see why they are the biggest producing winery in northern Michigan.
The tasting experience was great fun. We bought a case of mixed wine for the holidays.
Wonderful wine. The views are breath taking.
Pretty good
Helpful and friendly, even to those of us who are not wine experts
Nice spot with decent wines
Loved it. Already making plans to come back for a longer stay!!
