Very nice vineyard and wine tasting room. Went in early spring so wasn’t able to be outside but was very beautiful outdoor area. Wine was good but not the most delicious. The frosé is def a must
Brys is a great stop to make. Although their tasting was the most expensive one we came across on the Old Mission wine trail, it was still worth it. On busy days they have you move through stations to get your tasting, which was very cool. You go from the front room to the wine bottling area, to the barrel room, to a different room in between, and back out to the main bar. They also have recently expanded their deck, where you can go out to drink a glass and relax. If you give your email address, they also give you a truffle to eat with your fourth tasting - very good pairing. Their wines are a little on the expensive side, and we did end up buying a bottle here, but all of the wines that we tried were very good. This winery has a more upscale feel to it, almost snooty. But I will say that most of the staff that we encountered were friendly. They did seem to rush us through the stations and our tasting as a whole. Also, check out the secret garden if you have some down time. It is very cool!
In my top 3 vineyards for bold reds! Greatly enjoyed our tasting and tour of the facilities. Your Pinot Noir is my absolute favorite there!
Best experience on Old Mission. Don’t skip the charcuterie. It is excellent and paired nicely with a glass of Cab Franc. Also loved there was an area where dogs could hang out with Adirondack chairs. Very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. View is excellent especially from the upper tier deck.
Best winery in peninsula. We tried 4 or 5. Great boutique winery and great wines.
Great views of the vineyard, a space for cornhole & bocce ball, and FROSÉ (iced wine). They sell other great stuff like wine & lavender ice cream, but who cares...
Our server was quite knowledgeable about the wines. It was a pleasure chatting with her as we did our $8 tasting. So glad they ship to Texas!
The classiest winery in Michigan. The staff is knowledgeable yet not pompous. They have a great deck for a glass of wine and cheese board.
Amazing, wine views people!.
Awesome viewing deck! 2013 Cab/Merlot is a must have
This place was incredible, I loved the building the staff were fun and generous and the wine was some of the best after a day of touring! Cant wait to come back!
Modern-chic wine cellar experience with great wines and a fun station-to-station approach to wine tasting.
Had a fantastic time there. Knowledgeable staff that made the tasting experience spectacular.
Excellent place to stop and taste a little life...
Brys Estate is my Old Mission Peninsula goto winery! Beautiful tasting room, friendly knowledgeable staff and an incredible deck overlooking the estate and East Bay. Then of course you can't forget about the Brys wines, their Rieslings are delish and here's a little tickler...the Riesling-Gris is back on the shelves after a four year hiatus! I really hope it doesn't sell out but it probably will.
Beautiful setting and good selection.
Such a beautiful winery!!!! Their wines definitely match the elegant ambiance of the tasting room!!! Brys was our first winery on Old Mission quite a few years ago and I'm always looking forward to going back!!!! The patio is a perfect place to enjoy a glass after a tasting and some of their snacks help make it a great occasion!!! Worth the stop Everytime!!!
Thank You!!! Dinner and wine served on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan was the highlight of a weekend retreat won by a very generous bid at the Exalta Health ArtFeast5. Thanks to the Brys family for partnering with us by pairing the perfect wines with each of the 5 (6) courses. The best part was enjoying the company of such wonderful and generous people as we enjoyed the degustation prepared by hostess Patti.
Some good wines and great views. Smallest pours on Old Mission. Some nice staff but some of the managers seem very snooty. Over all a great place to stop but not my favorite.
One of few places that were truly dog friendly
Best winery with great atmosphere and staff
Great view and clean atmosphere
Great views, great wine, surprisingly!!
Absolutely beautiful vineyard and tasting room. Wines are lovely, and hot cider is to die for!
Classy atmosphere with well knowledgeable staff. Friendly and great tasting wine.
Simply the BEST winery in Michigan!
Gorgeous view, good wine, Linda isn't here for your nonsense, though.
This was our last stop of the day Saturday September 21st. We arrived 10 minutes before closing and they would not serve us. Very disappointing experience. Makes us not want to go back.
Like the deck. Great wine. Inspiring area, always feel like playing some romantic guitar music here.
Pulled in at 5:30 wanting to taste and go to the secret garden (both closing at 6). We did get through our tasting but it was rushed, our fault not the staff. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their wines but I was a little disappointed that I had to purchase a souvenir glass instead of getting one with my tasting (like the other wineries we visited). Would have loved to sit on their patio with one of the wines we tasted. Me and hubby "shared" a tasting, since it was our last stop I was a bit wined out. Even though we rushed it we still enjoyed the atmosphere and staff. Then we hit the secret garden... not really what I expected. I thought more along the lines of tall, vine covered walls with various seating. It's simply an open air flower garden. I imagine it would be beautiful when the lavender is in bloom but alas, we were about a month or so too late (September).
Love, love, love everything about this winery! From excellent wines, great staff, lunches on the deck with frozen rose`, to their Secret Garden - lavender and fresh flowers galore shopping extravaganza.
Wasn’t as into the wine but the location and food was good. Great outdoor area to drink. Frozeé was tasty.
Great reds, great people. Have fun
Probably my favorite winery in Traverse City. The Gewurztraminer is the best!
The atmosphere & friendly staff are great
The tasting room was excellent! You get to see the behind the scenes of how wine is made. Definitely go up to the patio to get some frose! You will not be disappointed! This was definitely one of my new favorite places!!!
Steffen was so knowledgeable- I told him I was trying to branch into reds and he had such great pointers. Very friendly young man I wish well at law school. Great views from the porch- awesome tasting room!
The Bry's estate offered the best wine of all the wineries I've visited in Michigan. They have a wonderful set up for tastings where you go to different stations while receiving a mini tour of their facility. Each server was very knowledgeable about the wine and very pleasant to speak with. I will definitely visit again!
Brys Estate has a wonderful, warm and inviting atmosphere. Their staff goes out of their way to make sure our customers are well taken care of. Their wines are outstanding and our guests thoroughly enjoy every time I take them there. Can't say enough good things about this winery. A must stop on the Old Mission Wine Tour!
Frosé and charcuterie, o my!
Enjoyed the tasting and atmosphere.
I don't like wine. HOWEVER this place has some of the ONLY wine that I love. It is really worth a visit here to taste the wine and enjoy the beautiful grounds.
Get service and views
By far for many years now this has been our favorite place. I have been traveling to wine taste for 15 years now and my wife and I always make this a must stop. We joined the club here today which is a great value. If you love complex dry wines this is the place for you. They specialize in their estate wines if they cannot do it well they do not do it. From the moment you walk in, the pursuit of perfection is obvious in this gem of Old Mission Peninsula.
Visited with my bachelorette party and we went straight for the frozen rosé (frosé) - it was a very refreshing and the patio atmosphere was very relaxed. We didn't do any tastings, but we had a great time and would definitely come back again!
Great winery. I did a tasting here with my family on a Sunday during the summer. Our wine lady was very knowledgeable and charismatic. After our tasting, we got drinks and sat on the patio overlooking the vineyard. The Frose (frozen rose) was great! We also got a charcuterie board- highly recommend. It was a lovely day- I would definitely go back here!
Personalized attention paired with delectable wines
The wines are ok. Don't be fooled by the facade. They think big of themselves, but they cannot deliver on a better than mediocre quality. Lotta swank, but not a lot of flavor.
We scheduled a group tasting at this venue and were pretty disappointed with the service received. When we arrived (again we scheduled this and was there on time) they ignored our group until one of us finally inquired and we were told we had to wait. After waiting for 15 mins half of our group got served while the other half stood around and waited. It was not a good start to kickoff our wine and beer tour. The staff was pretty unorganized and not the most friendly or helpful. Maybe they were overwhelmed. It may be better with a smaller group, I’m not sure. The verdict is still out on whether or not my husband and I will visit by ourselves.
We were given a complementary glass to use in our tasting and to keep. The varieties of wine were great. I like how they give you stations to try different wines at. It keeps the crowd flowing. My friend and I later got a cheese tray which was also delicious. The view is also great to stop and see as well.
An elegant place to taste. The best part is it's about enjoying the experience. You don't have to be a connoisseur of wines to know what you like, and the staff here will help you find it, even to the point of getting you outside of your normal. The Saturday progressive tastings through the facility are fun and slightly educational, and you get to interact with different staff members along the way. Don't forget to head outside to the deck for a refreshing frozen beverage, made with their popular Rose wine, and the charcuterie makes a wonderful snack. I will miss coming here regularly, but will be sure to visit when I'm in the area.
My favorite winery near Traverse City! We always make time to stop in and try the new wines which are always the best in the area! From the wine, to the tasting server (who is knowledgeable about the wines) to the atmosphere, to the view, and especially the staff, this is the best winery to sit and have a glass of their awesome wine and enjoy a meat and cheese plate with friends and family! The Cab-Merlot was awesome! looking forward to our next trip to the peninsula so we can enjoy this place again!
What an amazing day. They even scheduled sun for us. ☀️
It's a great place to visit, and I highly recommend doing so when there's a small tour.
Always a delight and this is a great time of year to visit
Did this as part of a 4 winery wine tour. Service was great and wine was delicious. Scenery was beautiful and place was very clean and modern
We loved everything about Brys - from tastings to employees- especially MJ. Purchased a very good wine after our tasting and then went down to the “Secret Garden” and got lovely lavender candles and cookies. Very nice spot.
Brys Estate is gorgeous. The vineyard grounds are beautiful and the views are breathtaking! We booked the Wagon Wine Tour for my Mom's birthday get together this past weekend and it was awesome! A main reason why I chose this location is because of the Secret Garden. It did not disappoint. It was so lovely. I could not get over how amazing everything smelled at this Winery. Erick, our tour guide was great! He made the tour so enjoyable. It was definitely a memorable experience. Oh yeah, and you must try the Froze. Frozen pinot noir blended with strawberries. So good!! I can't wait to go back again.
Cool place, great wine.
A winery that shows what MI can do for wine!
Keven and Becky are so welcoming and so knowledgeable about the wines! A great place to visit on Old Mission Peninsula !!
Beautiful location, great atmosphere, friendly staff (my wife works here), and, some of the best wines on Old Mission Peninsula. A great place to relax and unwind.
Server Alex had a bad attitude and was very short. The place is beautiful but could not get past his attitude
So good!
Enjoyed hey 5 stage wine tasting with lots of other groups today.
Great service for wine lovers, and wine is very good
We've took the $5-wine tasting package and it was cool for getting small overview. We've received 2 white, 2 red and one rosé wine and have enjoyed the great view.
Beautiful views....cooking off w a frozen Rose'
The Signature Red - pricey but worth every penny, picked up a few bottles!
Terrific wines and setting
Excellent selection of wines enjoyable tour of the wine making process informative
Good people but not as friedly atmosphere
Very, very good experience? Very professional, knowledgeable and great atmosphere!
Amazing. Great cheese platters and the frozen wine drink is delicious. Beautiful views.
First time here with my girlfrind and I. We were treated with immediate service with a smile from Paul. He was curteous, knowledgeable and friendly. He even gave us a brief tour of the back tasting rooms and where the wine is distilled then bottled. I look forward to my next trip here and highly recommend Paul to be your tasting guide should you venture here.
We didn’t care for the method in which they let you taste their wines. We’ve visited Napa/Sonoma and Willamette Valley multiple times where the wine tastings are all about building a relationship with the taster and educating them on the different varietals that are produced. This tasting felt very impersonal as they had 5 different tasting stations and moved you in a line through the interior to each station. The staff pouring was friendly but didn’t seem to be very well educated on their own wines as they just recited the tasting notes that were already listed on the paper we were carrying around. Their wines were just ok and it seemed like they just wanted to push as many people through their tasting as possible instead of focusing on relationship building and telling their story as a winery. Since they are a winery in Northern Michigan and not on the West coast, I would think their main priority would be to educate people on the various wines offered and how they might differ from anything they’ve tasted before to help make a name for themselves. The exterior patios were very crowded and boosted good views so I was sorry that we didn’t skip the tasting all together and went straight outside.
They have moved away from the traditional wine tasting and is now a stationed, chose your own adventure approach. Try the frose!
Great Service. Great Wines. Nice Decor and Atmosphere.
Had to have some Ros'e to wet my lips
Fantastic views of the bay and vineyard from the patio. I loved the gewurztraminer! Excellent and informative staff.
They've made so many improvements in the wine. It's a beautiful venue and friendly staff.
Awesome wine with a fun tasting that takes you through the inside! Amazing view.
Beautiful patio/deck area and tasty wine. Staff are lively, personable, and fun! The dry reisling is a MUST. Won first place in an international competition in San Diego!
Beautiful setting, great wines, wonderful patio. A must visit!
Their pino noir coats your pallet and tells your soul that everything is going to be alright.
Great experience ... loved it.
Good wine.
Excellent decor. Best indoor atmosphere in wine country. Don't forget to check out the lavender fields and lavender store.
Great atmosphere & tasting room. Knowledgeable staff with great service, even at a busier time. Enjoyed the wine, especially the cabernet franc.
AMAZING!!!Loved every second of the tasting, spectacular views, and great staff!
We have been a member of Brys Estate for almost two years. When our daughter's boyfriend contacted us announcing his plans to ask our daughter to marry him, we knew just where to do it! The landscaping and beautiful interior of this winery were just perfect! The suprise engagement was perfectly orchestrated by the staff and the photographer and the pictures.....well they are just amazing! A huge THANK YOU to Brys Estate! We are so grateful for everything you did to make this such a special memory for our family! The Patterson's
Go for a nice tasting or stay and sit on the deck and enjoy your wine with a great view. All wines are available for purchase in the lobby. Staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Worth the drive up the peninsula to visit and spend some time. Cleanest bathrooms we have ever seen featuring soaps from their secret garden also on the grounds!
Excellent choices of wine, you must try their "Porch Pounder"
Great atmosphere. Excellent wine! A must visit when in traverse city.
Great wines and tasty charcuterie! On the upper deck, enjoy a Frose (frozen pinot noir/riesling + strawberry) or glass of wine. Tasting room is staffed with kind, knowledgable, and interesting staff members.
I went here twice during my visit! They have some really high quality reds, and I actually really liked the Pinot Noir Rose, which isn't my usual. The grounds are really lovely here, too (we brought our dog, and my husband was able to take a glass of wine and a bowl of water out to sit with her and also play bocce). We also went to the "secret garden" -- lavender lovers will be in heaven. The moomers lavender lemon ice cream made just for Brys is soo good and perfect for between wine tastings!
The staff were great. We came here as a group as part of a tour. Had a wonderful tasting. We had time to go upstairs to their deck and enjoyed some frosé and the beautiful views.
My wife and I had a great time at Brys' during the Great Mac n Cheese Bake off last weekend. Erick was very entertaining, thank you! Proud new Cask members in the wine club.
The wine is good, but the staff doesn't give that welcoming feeling.
I loved so many things about this place I have to return! The first thing I noticed pulling in was how they took care of their vines (they had a type of mesh protecting them.) Their employees were very nice and able to accommodate last second large parties, which was amazing! We toured their whole operation and were able to walk around while tasting. One employee (I believe Christie) recommended we try a red wine, eat a chocolate, and then sip it again because it brings out the fruit tones which was amazing advice because it tasted as if you had tried two completely different wines! Next thing I have to highlight was their views. They had a walk out deck viewing their vines and the water/islands beyond, and one could sit down to enjoy it at their table or walk out to overlook it. They also have lavender fields, which I was not able to tour but will next time I am here. I would return here just for the atmosphere alone.
Had the most beautiful wine tasting day at Brys this weekend! It is a lovely property with amazing views of the vineyards and the bay. A tasting takes you through a short tour of the facility with four stations for sampling wine. You then end with the option to grab a glass on their outdoor deck over looking the vineyards. Brys Estate is a must see visit on Mission Peninsula.

Fantastic chardonnay. Fantastic place. Nice stuff. So much to see.
very good. nice view
Brys Estate is one of my go to wineries on the old mission peninsula! I never miss an opportunity to go here when visiting they have an amazing selection of wines and extremely friendly staff that are more then happy to answer all your questions!
Bravo to the Boathouse and Brys winery, dinner with wine pairings on Friday night. What a great experience!!
The view alone is worth stopping here. The wines are very good also. It was raining so we were not able to go out on the deck but I can imagine the view is spectacular from there. They had a sale going for the wines which was a good value. We will return in the summer and enjoy the deck. The service was good.
Very beautiful property, money worth it. 50$ private tour and tastings, staff very friendly, great way to spend time with your girlfriends.... Will do again!
Best experience ever!
Friendly staff and beautiful deck with awesome views.
Sky Deck is beautiful.
Excellent place for wine. So worth it
Wine was fine and nice views
Decent wines. Cozy spot
Been coming here for a while. I am a wine club member and love it.. One of the best Michigan wineries. Staff is always fun and i always trust their recomendations. If you are in the area it is a must stop...
Best red wines in Northern Michigan
Awesome visit! Our fav out of 5 stops in peninsula! Great view/picture area and the charcuterie tray was delightful. Ask for the Frozay (or however you spell it) and you won't be disappointed!
Had a great experience and the wines I sampled were great! Best choice - spiked apple cider!!
