This Winery belongs to the category of Vineyard.
In a beautiful setting a disappointing tasting. If there was a video instead of the moderator, we would not even see the difference. It was to serve our glasses more than to make us discover the wines. We had too much information before the start of the tasting. In fact, we paid to drink wine and leave with a glass of wine, but certainly not for a tasting! you must review the time allotted for this activity.
Went there to have some drinks, taste some spirits and do some work. Lemonade slushy: 10/10 Other mixed drinks: 9/10 Spirits tasting: 8/10 (not hugest fan of gin, but the amber rum is 12/10 on its own) Work done that day: 2/10 Slushys had that day: 10/10 Overall I guess its OK I guess
Excellent place to spend the afternoon. Free tour, $10 tastings with free glass, generous pours at outdoor bar, great store, lots of outdoor seating. Definitely worth the trip!
The quality of their wine aren’t there yet, the tour was good. They are dog friendly
Staff were not very friendly during tasting, wines do not compare to NY Finger Lakes region, we felt they were sub par
The wine is wonderful.
Fun place to visit, went here because of the wine bottle and a drinking made easy segment. If you are in the area, stop by, visit, consume and enjoy the vistas, it is worth the time and you will probably take your wine bottle home with you - it is that unique.
We have visited the vineyard at least twice a year for many years now. We always enjoy the tasting and then sitting on the lawn with a glass of whatever was our favorite that day. The vibe is relaxing and the people watching exceptional. However, on our recent visit, we decided to give the food truck a try. The food was quite average and definitely overpriced. But, worse...our lovely day was practically ruined by the the grumpy owner/chef. He responded to simple, normal requests with venom and snark. This guy should get out of a business that relies on "customer satisfaction" - he doesn't understand the meaning of the phrase! Enjoy the wine and cocktails, but steer clear of the food truck!
Great winery tour but after doing the wine tasting my mom, sister, and I all agreed that we were not fans at all of any of their wines. Very nice staff though.
A nice place to sit out on the lawn, drinks some wine, eat off the food truck and enjoy a weekend afternoon.
My group went here for a girl's weekend and it was a blast! What a beautiful location! The wine tasting was very professionally done, and the wines were delicious. Would definitely visit again!
Love this winery!! Win and staff were awesome. The only downside are the children running around and yelling. I wish the winery was strictly for adults.
The vignols is amazing
Relaxing setting to grab a drink, sit on a Adirondack chair under large trees that create much needed shade in the summer, wines tasting and food trucks. Not a tough sell to stop and check this place out.
Had a wine tasting. The person serving didn’t discuss the wines and when we asked about a certain wine she had to look at the label. The tastings are at scheduled times ...every half hour. So you may have a wait. They should know about the wine.
Blackfish food truck was a great addition to the vineyard. Excellent food and be sure to get the home made truck chips. I got the burger which had a lot of flavor and enjoyed eating outside at the picnic tables.
We were the only people at their tasting room when we arrived and the three employees barely acknowledged we were there. When it was time for the tasting which is available every half hour there were 2 other couples. Our server didn't seem like she enjoyed her job I felt like we were bothering her. Wish she had an ounce of enthusiasm and made eye contact. We left feeling disappointed because we wish they would be happy to see us (customers.) I wish I would have felt welcomed there.
Definitely do the wine and distillery tastings!
Way too expensive for crappie product. Why did they charge me 11 bucks for a 10 dollar listing price?
(Translated by Google) If you arrive in Provincetown by boat, you can cycle here. Is about 30 minutes (10 km) and so you can also see the scenery. The wine is tasty and costs you 10 dollars for a glass. The chardonnay is definitely recommended! They also have cocktails with their home-made rum and gin. You can only pay with cash, but there is also an ATM, if you want to withdraw money. There are also free tours of the vineyard and distillery, but we did not do that.
Great vineyard/distillery. Very knowledgeable staff, very friendly and helpful.
Stick with the wine the other Spirits where harsh
If only I can give 0 star .. This place is really commercial and the people who work there are not nice .. The wine is served in a plastic cup !! Really ?? Don't go there and save your cash !
Lovely. Didn't do the wine tasting but had a nice time relaxing at one of the picnic tables with lunch and a good glass of their wine
Lots of variety for a small Vineyard, thanks to a great winemaker! And always something fun happening as well!
Don't go at the end of the day. You can tell the person was ready for the day to end. She started cleaning our table before we were finished. Really disappointed with the experience. Bring a taste tester buddy so you can taste all the wines. My husband is not a wine drinker and my friends just bought a glass of wine which was a better deal.
Beautiful grounds. Excellent wines. Well worth the visit.
On our 3 week long honeymoon touring vineyards, wineries, and breweries this was our absolute FAVORITE experience. We did both complimentary tours of vinyard and the new distillery our tour guide was super nice, super knowledgable and left us well informed. We did the tasting which was super reasonable price as ten dollars for five choices, if you have a partner who you dont mind sharing a glass with you can each get 5 and taste all ten. Their wines were good and everybody their made our experience really nice.
Loved it. Fun informative great area for soaking everything in!
Love this place! Good wine, good food good people.
Setting is nice. Wine tasting was different then we are use too. But enjoyable. Only issues is that they need to put info out on times of first tasting, had to wait around for 30 minutes which put us behind in our day. We arrived at 11 when open thinking we could taste at open. Not the case. Enjoy if you go.
Beautiful relaxing scenery, with both covered and uncovered outdoor seating and fire pits! We enjoyed both the wine tasting and the spirits tasting. Each includes a souvenir glass. In the summertime they have a food truck as well. Had such a great time and would definitely come back again!!
The three times I have been to the gift shop I have gotten a distinctly snobbish and ungracious vibe. The first time the sales people all seemed as though they were annoyed to have to deal with ringing up my purchase. I attributed it to …
Cute place. Lots of outdoor tables, wine tasting, spirit tasting and helpful staff.
Loved the Cab Franc! Also we were in town for the Grape Stomp event which was amazing!
Nice place to learn about wine making and vineyard operation on a small scale. The tasting was great and the spirits were very good. Recommended place to visit.
Great spot to relax with a glass of good wine. The tours are fun and informative and the wine us very good. You can now taste spirits as well. The wine prices are what you would expect from a local vineyard but the spirit prices are VERY high.
This vineyard is in a great location, but the wines offered at the tasting was less than desirable. It seemed as if the wine was watered down and tasteless. There were not many deep red wine options for us to try, most sweet whites. The space has a very nice front lawn with comfortable chairs to sit in. If there were different wines offered, I would go back.
This is a great place for any occasion
Nice wines, peaceful setting!
The spirit tasting and tour of the distillery is a good deal for $10. The grounds are beautiful many places to hang out. There is also a food truck on site.
White wine lovers dream
Quaint place with a friendly staff. The vineyard is a showcase of a small wine making operation. The wine tasting is a good choice to sample many of the selections. Usually they have 6-8 regular signature wines and 2 or so seasonal specials. Wine by the glass is expensive but the surroundings make for a nice picnic location
Wine and spirits tasting, winery and distillery tours were excellent and a outdoor bar with an excellent atmosphere.
Fun place! $10 tasting every half hour and free tours of the grounds
Nice wines. Loved their rum!
My fave vineyard to visit in The Cape! The blush wine is my favorite.
We stopped today in hopes of taking a tour but isn't a very friendly or welcoming place. They don't offer much information and even when prompted they don't give it. I left knowing that something costs $10 and it's out front. Bummef
10$ for a cup of wine..... A plastique cup bye the way.... We had tested red wine cabernet franc.... Omg this is à vinegar! Worst wine ever of my life. The girl don't ask what I want to try. She is rude! Keep your money, this is a commercial show off. With a middle range about 20$ à bottle.... Go away!
Attended the Wine and Dine event at Truro Vineyards. It was a spactaclur night very well presented with a number of very tasty and creative small dishes expertly paired with some of the vineyards wines. In addition the dessert course featured donuts and a milkshake made with the rum distilled on site - this was a real highlight of the evening. Live music and an artist on hand really made for a wonderful night.
Fun wine tasting, inexpensive great wines!
The Vignoles was superb, as well as the lighthouse bottle series, but very sweet, dangerously drinkable...Only tried the wines though. Can't speak for the spirits though.
Our visit was completely unplanned. This was a good stop at a scenic winery with a good amount of outdoor seating. One gripe? Since the place sells no food they should relax the “no outside food” rule. Seems you couldn’t even bring your own crackers and cheeze. We had no wine, instead having cocktails from South Hollow Spirits. Friendly staff and good drinks. Great stop if you have an hour to burn. Four stars.
I
Wine tasting was a lot of fun!
The parking is easy, the grounds are quite lovely. The staff was not at all friendly. I've posted a picture of a sign on their door today... I think staff and management could use a course or education on customer service. The sign could simple say "Due to a private event, we will be closing promptly at 5pm. Thank you for your cooperation and sorry for any inconvenience." The wines were decent. But the small 1 ounce pours are not quite enough to tell if they appeal to your pallet. I'd suggest some changes to how the tasting work or are organized. Making them more of a personal experience.
Very busy. Would like to go back
Great place to sit and relax with a high open yard and plenty of seating. Parking lot is small and rather hard to find a spot with limited street parking options however the wine is great. I felt the pricing was a little high and cash only is a real bummer considering I would have gotten more wine but didn't have alot of cash. Just be prepared is the only warning. Would suggest.
Friendly, family run place. The tours are done by the experts (I took the distillery tour and the master distiller himself did the tour) and their product is unique and tasty! You can get a glass of wine, or a cocktail made from their spirits (around $10) and there's a food truck serving pretty good food. I had a hangar steak salad which was excellent. My wife wasn't pleased with the veggie burger. But this isn't a review about the winery. Definitely a pleasant afternoon!
fun stop on our visit to Cape Cod. I wish the staff was more into answering questions about how the wine was made versus just sticking to the script for the wine tasting. Decent wine, although nothing amazing.
We asked for a sweeter wine than was offered at the tasting, and they suggested their Cape Rose. We asked if it would be possible to taste the wine first. They said only during specific times - one of those times was not when our bus load of 50 customers had arrived. Arriving home 4 days after our Cape Cod tour, we opened their Cape Blush to share with guests. IT WAS VINEGAR!!!! It was billed as an "American Rose Wine" and sweeter than the red we were given to taste. Do Not Buy this wine!!! Oh yes, it came in a bottle shaped like a lighthouse. Do NOT be taken in!!!
Loved the experience. Beautiful venue with super nice people.
Delicious!
We visited last week and had a wonderful time. The grounds are beautiful and have the scenic and historic Cape Cod charm you appreciate growing up there. The tour was informative but not over the top for a casual wine drinker. The tasting was a great experience and the food truck had a variety of options. I am normally a red wine drinker but I highly recommend the Cape Rose and the Vignoles. Delish!
Good wine and nice people
It boggles the mind how this place manages to stay in business. They are clueless as to how to properly manage a hospitality based business. The front office may be better suited to careers in postal delivery. As for the wines, I did not bother to waste time on a tasting. I'm sure I've probably had vinegar that is superior to their finest reserve. Don't waste your time visiting this dump! You will be mightily disappointed.
Great value for the tasting at South Hallow Spirits. Ten bucks gets you a taste of all 4, and a snifter glass. Highly recommend the distillery tour beforehand, highly informative and cheerful guide.
Beautiful scenery, the tasting was great and woman hosting was super informative. My wife and I were glad we went.
We always enjoy their wine tastings. We hope to do the rum tasting soon! A great place to visit!
I live locally. My favorite hangout. Have lunch at the food truck, in season, weekly. My private Idaho.
Great place off rt 6 to get some wine or a mixed drink. They distill their own gin and rum... beautiful place to enjoy the weather, kid and pet friendly!
A lovely winery/vineyard whose store seems to carry more and more each year. They now not only carry the Truro white and red wines but their own hard liquors, jams and jellies as well as kitchen supplies, tees and other clothing. The wine tasting section off of the shop is lovely, next to the vineyard and there are tables out front where you can sit and enjoy your wine.
Enjoyed the wine and vineyard tour. The tour guide was outstanding. Great family atmosphere and food is available from food trucks. We will be back
Very neat experience. Wine tasting was done very well. Spirit tasting was great! Cool to see a family owned operation.
They have a nice wine tasting area and you can also go on a tour. There's a gift shop, an open area with tents where can sit, a bar as well as food to buy their very nice atmosphere very large Vineyard had a great time and was better able to pick out what kind of wine I'd bring to a party if invited.
Very friendly staff. Had a great discussion with the winemaker on the difficulty of growing vinefera grapes on Cape Cod
Had a great time wine tasting with friends,!
Good wine. Beware of tourist buses full of old people. Things can get hairy very quick!
Bad wine, rude staff, pretty scenery.
Excellent wine tasting on a beautiful piece of land!
Truro Vineyards, like a fine cab has matured and improved over the years. The current owning family has grown the business and increased the number of wines offered to 19. Most are pressed and fermented on site with grapes purchased elsewhere but they still maintain vines and produce their own Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot varietals. Recently they have begun on site fermentation of their own rum and gin. There are regular (every 30 minutes) guided tastings in a large open air structure behind the sales building. Ten dollars lets you sample 5 of 10 offered wines from a souvenir glass. The wines are generally good but not great. In truth it's the experience that makes your visit worth the trip... attend the tasting, pick the wines you like, purchase a glass of your top pick, and sit at comfortable tables under the shade outside in front of the old farm house that acts as the sales center. They have light food offerings you can purchase and before you know it you will have forgotten the P-town crowds, your crying kids, and you'll be saying to yourself, "Ah this is the life... I wonder what the poor people are doing?" Worth a visit.
Loved this winery while in the cape! It’s super cute and just a nice place to relax. The cranberry slushy was awesome! And we did the last wine tasting of the evening. I liked that we got to sit back and enjoy the wine. I bought my husband the dry line gin! He loves it! I bought myself two bottles of Riesling. If we ever come back to the cape, we WILL be stopping by here again.
Just had my sons wedding this past Saturday at Truro Vineyards and I can't say enough about the staff and food. Excellent!!! hors d'oeuvres were amazing, drinks were great and dinner was fantastic. Thank you, Thank you....
I only tried the food at the food truck but it was tasty enough for me. The shop and surrounding were beutiful and well kept.
Fun place to go to if you’re in the area and need a winery-fix… but finish reading… The service: This is their biggest strength. The entire staff were so nice and helpful. The only qualm here was how they handled their tastings outside in the pavilion. It was very rushed and the young girl who led it was too quiet and we didn’t even realize it had started until 5min into it all. Give her a microphone maybe? And maybe give her a more smiley, fun, assertive personality. I’ll have some grace because she’s young and may be her first time. The “spirits”: The real secret and reason to come is for their rum and gin. They have a couple of different rums and a single gin. They were all fun to taste. I’m a whiskey drinker, so I justified buying a small bottle of their Amber rum because of how it was aged (similar to whiskey). The other stuff tasted fun and would be great to experiment with… but they had “craft” price tags on them and I’m not really a rum or gin drinker, so I stuck with my one small bottle. Furthermore, I didn’t want to try and fly back with a bunch of bottles. The scenery: This is a typically winery/vineyard. Very nice, clean, good décor and ambiance. Not much else to say. I don’t know if they do weddings… but I would have one here. Get your Instagrams while you’re outside. It was gloomy when we went and we still got some good shots in. The wine: I feel so bad because everyone was so nice… but the wine was mediocre, at best. I believe they had around 10 wines at the time we were there and we could try 5/each. Between the four of us, we tried the majority of the wines. We decided that if we were to buy any, there were two we would be. I didn’t actually buy any. A friend did buy two bottles to put it on the shelf and say “It came from Cape Cod.” They were their two sweeter wines which you can’t complain about because they do their job… being sweet. Overall: I gave them 4-stars because of the service, rum/gin stating, and ambiance. If you come for wine, just have the expectation of getting drunk and you’ll be ok :)
We experienced the same disrespect as others already mentioned. We drove about an hour and came around 5pm just to be told "There is a party here and no more vine tasting today".
Great wines. Many whites and few reds. The scarcity of the reds, as they explained and clearly the buffoon below didn't bother being educated, is due to the climate.
Excellent wine and rum. Tours, tastings, and great spots to relax.
Great place, so much fun.
Great atmosphere and some really good wine, too.
Enjoyed our visit
Great spot for a nice afternoon. We have an infant and the green space in front was perfect to lay a blanket out for her while we had a glass of wine on this beautiful property. Set up looks like a small vineyard in Napa, wines are good, not great. Food truck on site is also good! A spot we frequent in the north end of the cape!
THEY DO NOT STAY OPEN until 6.
Super nice and friendly........ Free tours of vineyards, and rum house...... pet friendly.
TrueRo ! ;) ... We had a great time here tasting 4 different types of wines and seeing around the place. The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions. This is a great place for some good photography too.. :)
