It's also great how they ask if there was something in particular that I was looking for that they didn't have, which makes me think that they'll order it so that I can purchase it. Marty's has a great selection of wine and beer, and the staff their are very knowledgeable and helpful. They have a nice gourmet food section, and snacks that make for nice appetizers that will be loved at any party. They allow you to break up 6 packs of beer, so if you want to try an assortment of new things, pick away. I noticed on my most recent trip that they will match or beat any competitors prices (not sure exact details), so if you think the prices are high you can probably get them adjusted if you have proof that they are charging more than the competitors. There is always plenty of parking, and the store is huge so you shouldn't need to go anywhere else for your alcoholic purchases.

In my experience, Marty's has--hands down--the best selection of wines and beers of any liquor store in West Newton. What you may not know is that Marty's also has a wide selection of mixers and imported foods. That's usually what brings me in the door. Ginger beer? Check. Elderflower syrup? Check. Colman's mustard? Check. Service is prompt and attentive and the store is clean and well-lit.

In addition to a large selection of beer, wine, and spirits, Marty's has a very good deli section with an eclectic globally sourced inventory. The pesto is better and lower priced than the Whole Foods next door. I bought some smoked duck breast there that was a a big hit at a party.

Nice spot with a great selection. marty himself (yes, Marty himself) is very knowledgeable and friendly. The place also has fine breads, cheeses, tobacco products, CBD products, and snacks to go with your drinks. Let it be known that Marty's has one of the few bottle and can redemption spots left in Newton, along with Auburndale Liquors. It can be crowded because of high demand, but it's a staple and they're nice there so I enjoy redeeming cans there. The parking is free and it's right on Washington Street, which is a big thoroughfare.

Staff will always ask if you need help and if you do, they have been knowledgeable. If they didn't know, they got on their radio and got someone who was. Last time I patronize Marty's. I went in for 3 mins and was treated poorly by both people I interacted with. Both were manager type, not just hourly clerks. Go somewhere else for your beer and wine, these people dont appreciate it.

Hands down, it's the best west wine selection around and most knowledgeable wine staff, but they also have slightly higher prices compared to elsewhere (that is, you can usually find the same bottle of wine at a slightly lower price elsewhere). I think it's worth it for the selection and knowledge, but I can understand if high prices turn some people off. It's next to Whole Foods, which is appropriate, as WF is another great selection/high prices store.

Marty's is my go-to packie in the area. They have a huge selection of wine in all price ranges, excellent beer selection including lots of singles to mix-and-match, and all of the random booze you never knew you needed until you got there. They also seem to have been stocking up on a lot of the local distillers' products as well, which is nice. They have a good selection of spices, baking supplies (esp. nuts and chocolate) that are worth coming for all on their own. The staff is knowledgable and has pointed me in the right direction many times. Prices aren't bad, though you could likely do better if you were willing to go to a Total Wine.

I always loved Marty's for their selection of beer, lots of great craft beers (from across the country/world), their amazing wine selection and reasonable prices. The other day I decided to go over to the "grocery" side and get a sandwich and that is when my dedication to the store grew. Both sandwiches that we had were made perfectly, great bread, fresh deli meats, and served by friendly staff. This place is great - oh and their redemption center is clean, usually empty, and the machines always work.

One of my favorite liquor stops. 2nd best in Newton after Auburndale Liquors if you just want beer or liquor. Marty's is bigger though, many more liquor options, plus plenty of time cheeses, meats, and snacks.. albeit pricey. Also a great humidor for cigar perusal.

Place is supplying the community with poison that kills 100s of thousands every year and impairs driving ability. If you support medical or recreational marijuana you should boycott this place and buy your booze somewhere else, luckily there’s a liquor store on every corner. Marty has been harassing the medical patients at the nearby dispensary. These are good people trying to find safe non habit forming relief legally.

Most accommodating group of people. The day of our party we went to a Liquor store in Waltham to pick up the keg we had ordered das before. Unfortunately they could not locate our keg and we became frantic as we were hours away from hosting a party. We called Marty's and they had them in stock and were SO helpful. We literally walked in and out with a keg. Great group of people working here. Aside from the store being stocked with ALL varieties of beer, wines, and liquors- they have a great food/deli/dessert section as well.
