Downtown Wine & Spirits has an excellent craft beer selection. If I can't find what I need at Porter Square's Liquor World, which is smaller but closer to me, this is my second choice. (If I lived closer, it'd definitely be my first choice.) The store is huge, and they occasionally have tastings. The staff is pretty knowledgeable and laid back; they'll help you if you need it, but they won't be in your face while you're just trying to browse on your own. The wine and spirits selections also seem fairly extensive.

One of the better Liquor stores anywhere in this earea. A variety of beers and ales that I consider a high end. Vast varieety of quality wines and liquore you wint offen see in this area. Better prices on commab beers. Like a 30pk of Bud etc.. You like quality in your beverages. At reasonable cost. Its here.

Definitely overpriced liquor ( which is fairly expected of Davis Square), but that's not the only problem. It's also fairly limited on selection of liquors since the shop is small. You'll find very generic stuff, but if you're trying to look for a specific flavor of something, you'll be better of elsewhere. Staff doesn't really try to assist you in finding anything either.

I called ahead to see if they had a specific brand of cider and someone told me they had 12 4-packs in stock. I went in 20 minutes later and the cashier told me they were out of stock and they discontinued the brand. Wasted my time and my gas money.

Decent local liquor store, though finding what you want can be hit-or-miss. Their layout can be pretty confusing, especially compared to some other similar stores (the beer is all the way in the back), though they may be making the best of a weird physical layout. Prices are fairly reasonable for the area.

Downtown is the place to go for all your drinkin' desires in Davis. I typically roll by on Fridays after work to stock up for the weekend, and they always have at least one wine/beer/liquor company giving out samples! Their variety is great, especially for beer, as they stock numerous brands, local crafts, and seasonal offerings. In April they had this mega wine sampling event during which the entire store was transformed into a wine tasting with about 20 different brands doling out mini cupfuls of grapey goodness. They also had some free cheese and crackers to nom on and discounts for buying cases of the wines featured (which you're obviously going to want to do after downing 30 samples of wine). Daydrinking at it's finest. The prices are also pretty reasonable considering the store's location and size. A staple of our weekend drinking routine is Don Q rum, a handle of which will run you about $26. I can do that. So come on down to Downtown and drink on.

Looking for an obscure craft beer? Perhaps a lovely organic wine is more your style? Or are you just looking for a bottle of 99 Bananas to bring to that crazy party down the street? Downtown has you covered and then some. You can tell the staff really cares about selection and picking a variety of beers--the beer section is vast and well-stocked, from PBR to Slumbrew and everything in between. For someone with a weird solely alcohol-based gluten sensitivity, the selection is OK. Gluten-free beers rotate in and out, so you might not find the same brand twice. However, Downtown also has cider if that's your thing. The staff is friendly, and the prices are what you'd probably expect to pay for alcohol in a semi-urban area. Also, there are snacks by the register (jerky, chips, salsa, etc.) along with mixers, so it's truly a one-stop-shop for your last minute party needs. You don't want to be that jerk who shows up at the party empty-handed, now do you?

In a place like Davis Square, you'd think there'd be a billion liquor stores. The problem is, no one wants to compete with Downtown Wine and Spirits. Not only do they have EVERYTHING, at cheap prices, and are infinitely knowledgeable, but they often hold events and lessons to give back to the community, increase local booze knowledge, and, hey, advertise their awesome merch. This is my go-to place for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner!

I pop by here for an occasional soda pop sixer after a long week. Pretty much my sole go-to when I'm treating and want something more than a bud latte. Staff always provides great suggestions when asked and also let you just wander around the coldies, never making feel rushed. Sometimes, I'm feeling a little risky, so i just buy the coolest can. That never works out though, so i just normally ask what's good. Never had an issue with parking, prices are fair (given some squatie stores will politely request you run your pockets if you wanna get a 4-feature of some Capt Daughter because the chick on the can looks like she knows what's up but then you wonder if the name itself is a tribute to this capt's daughter and he wished to make embody his love and passion into a tangible existence and this beverage was his offering). It's got my business for as long as they'll let me walk around like i know what year was good for oregonian pinot noir (its 2014). Cheers!

Craft beer lovers rejoice! This store keeps craft beer enjoyment going all year round. Their staff stocks the shelves with everything from Rogue to Left Hand to local favorites Slumbrew and Pretty Things. They also have an extensive selection of European beers, craft wines, and booze for craft cocktails. However, beer is where they are king. Their freezer section has a great selection of pre-chilled six packs, but the real money is made in the back of the store where you'll find large craft bottles, small batch finds, and year-round beer deliciousness.

I had a horrible experience here and will never go to this package store again. Absolutely atrocious service. I went here and bought a 12 pack of beer and took it out of the freezer room. I took it up the the register and purchased it. Later I dropped my stuff back off at my apartment and opened it up. I noticed there were only 9 beers in the package instead of 12. I called in shortly after and they said I could come down and change it out. I drove back a couple hours later and they proceeded to tell me they had checked their inventory and said there was no way it could've been that way since they checked all the inventory. How the hell do you know that for sure, there's no chance they could've missed a light twelve? And they wouldn't even give me a slight refund of any type, would've walked away satisfied to some extent if they dd that. Thus, if you really want a place that doesnt take care of their customers, go here.

Amazing selection for beer, and quite good for wine and liquor as well. Friendly staff. The beer has gotten crazy expensive though. It's $1.50-$2 a beer for every craft beer and even 30 racks are around $30 compared to $23ish at Supreme in Central.

There is fantastic beer at this place. The wine selection is also pretty great. For some reason the snack selection is always looking pretty skimpy and sad. And for all the liquor they serve don't really have any sodas or mixers available. Not to mention the owner, his name is Neil, he's a total dick. He's not a pleasant man. But the fact of the matter is it's the only place in Haverhill really that you can get high quality beer so we all just to deal with him
