My first time here I saw 10000 Maniacs. The show and the place were awesome. Great size, great acoustics, great seats. One of the most enjoyable musical experiences I've ever had. Truly awesome! I will rush back if there is a band I like.

Holly Harris

This is a wonderfully loved venue with a lot of care put into the interior. The wine is good too.

Adriana Bailey

This was a cool place my husband and I stumbled upon while walking through downtown Boston. When we arrived it was very crowded and the venue just finished hosting a tasting party from Italian wineries. Wish we would’ve caught that, but the bartender greeted us when we walked up to the bar and gave us some time to look over the menu. I was kinda bummed there were no stools at the bar, as we had been walking around all day. My husband ordered a California Merlot and I ordered a custom rosé flight, we both were extremely happy with our choices. We had about an hour of calm crowds, this place is also a music venue so the crowds started pouring in later in the evening. At this pint the staff started being in the stools for ya to sit down, we then ordered a charcuterie board. Wow, very delicious and perfectly paired with our wines. We made great conversations with a local and other tourists. Our bartenders spent most of their time on the other end of the bar where the Italian wine makers were and watching the soccer game. So it took a while to be tended too, but very friendly when they were around. This place is very cool on the inside and made for both a fun and/or romantic atmosphere. I love the city, this is very much a city wine bar. Loved!

City Winery is now hands down the best place in Boston to listen to live music. The intimate, well-appointed setting has amazing acoustics. Someone really knew what they were doing when designing the performance space. Dinner was great, and it was nice to have assigned seating reserved only for our group for the entire evening. The flat breads as well as the risotto balls tasted delicious. The restaurant could benefit from an espresso machine and a better tea and dessert selection.

Daniel Occena

Food and wine was pretty good. Expensive though

Gregory Perrone

Fantastic wine food and atmosphere!!

Kelvin Ervin

Service was slow. Menu was blah. Waiter was impatient, borderline unprofessional. Seating was tight but manageable. Overall experience lack luster, but managed to to have a wonderful time with.

Raphael Sharta

I love the shows here, you can come with friends and relax in the big bar..fun

ALLAN KENNEY

Great venue for dinner / appertizers, wine and top talent playing away, very reasonable prices with friendly staff abundant to insure you enjoy the experience

Molly Brogan

I like how the owner responds below saying they gave more than one day notification about all the show cancellations. That was definitely not the case for the Marc Broussard show on Friday 11/17. We were aware of the delays/cancellations, call on Tuesday that week to check on the status and were told with absolute certainty the show was on. However the day prior we received an email stating the show was postponed. So no, you did not give more than one day notification, not in our case at least.

Purchased tickets to see Suzanne Vega on 12/13/17. I wasn't able to enjoy the show that we drove hours to see, because of our horrible experience. My date and I were so disappointed with the food! The prices are ridiculous for the quality and quantity of food. My duck tacos were over salted and the wraps were uncooked raw tortillas. It came in a tiny little cast iron pot that a child wouldn't get full on. My date had it worse than me, his meal was even smaller! They put three huge pieces of romaine lettuce to take up space on his plate with a couple fish poppers with sauces that were not good either. We then ordered a cheese plate because we were both still hungry. What a joke! They served stale Toasteds brand crackers with cheese that was not high quality. I had to talk to numerous managers about how horrible this was and missed the show. They really need to step up their game if they expect to charge their prices. Ruined my whole experience and show.

Allen Vermilya

Great sound, great service (thank you Colleen), great music, great atmosphere

Lindsey Bowshier

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, beautiful venue, huge bar and seating area. I ordered from the lunch menu - raw section. The wasabi cured salmon and tuna was delicious. Every Rose on the rose flight was perfect.

KRISTINE HINCHION

The food is awful! I have been here several times to see a show. Beautiful venue! Food not so much. I have tried several items on the menu and everything is bland. No flavor! My service last night was awful. Waited a long time to order to a point I thought the show would be over before I saw my waiter. Started going to the main bar for beverages since We couldn't get a glass of wine inside the venue. For the price, do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.

Steve Carey

Unique live music venue. Great acoustics. Sit down tables with full service before and during show. Good sightlines to stage.

Madeline Anderson-Balmer

Fun musical space in the gallery. Incredible food! Love the watermelon salad and every dessert is awesome. Do the wine flights if you're not sure. Shared plates make a great night out

Miguele Libro

Went to an event held in their function room the other night, and found it oppressive. The air was stifling, and it appears that they inadequately covered the necessary HVAC (heat, ventilation, air conditioning) system when the space was constructed. Not sure what they do in the warmer weather, since it was a rather cool evening of the event. This is a stop in for a quick or local bite place, not for fuctions, as they have been promoting it to be.

Douglas Pastorello

The food was great. Waking distance from TD Garden. However, the menu is on the pricey side.

Rick Moulton

Easy access, great venue for select menu items and excellent spot for musical entertainment

Stephanie Manzi

Awesome place for a show. Front row was totally worth it!! David Cook was amazing tonight. We Will be back for sure. Great service, food was good, coffee was not hot.

Tabbitha Johnson

Most amazing night I have had in a really long time!!! Great singers and show they put on!!!

Burt Beckwith

Cool venue and great concert (Bodeans). I might have eaten there if the menu had more vegan items than Grilled Asparagus.

LYYRA360 VR

Great prime rib and duck tacos. Superb wine. Fun concert!

Gloria Smothers

The place has great entertainment

Mike

Awesome huge bar and restaurant/concert venue right by The Garden. The staff is very friendly, and the wine (particularly the house made) is delicious. I went here for a work related event and it was a great spot to host it. Overall very happy with this place and I’m excited to go back soon!

Michael Lauf

This is an edited review. I originally left a 1-star review as the seats we received were completely misleading. The seating chart made it look like the seats we chose had a clear view of the stage. Upon arriving, our seats were blocked by a very large column and only a fraction of the stage could be seen. After leaving my original review, I also emailed the venue. I received a response back from the general manager not only apologizing for the experience, but also told me that he and their service manager went to the same seats to see for themselves. After validating my experience they went as far as to change their seating plan so no one else has the same experience. Apologize can go a long way, but taking action is so much better. It shows that they really do care and value the feedback provided to them! Thank you for turning a negative experience into a positive.

John Smiff

City Winery is great! I have been to them in multiple cities and can't wait for the Boston location to open! Great wine, great food and beautifully sounding venues!

Bob kelley

Was there for a corporate event. Very cool space. The food was good and the beers were only $6 for a nice variety of micro brews. Many wines and a full bar. Unique spot. Two parking garages and several lots only two short blocks away.

Tracey Zellmann

A nice place in the Garden / North Station area of Boston. My wife and I went to hear Phil Bailey from Earth, Wind and Fire - one of her favorites. We got good seats in their concert space. There was a good lively crowd. We enjoyed the music. We did feel the sound system didn't handle the vocals well in the first part of the concert, but seemed to get better. Dinner and drinks were good. They have an interesting technique for filling your orders during the concert. You can download their app on your phone and order that way without having to flag down a waiter. Service was quick. They clearly have a well-curated performance schedule tailored to what they think will keep their place busy and so far it is working well. There is also an attractive restaurant / wine bar which we walked through but haven't tried out yet.

Rabiah Lewis

Intimate atmosphere, great food, amazing venue.

Jason Adler

Seating is tight but good place to see a show otherwise

This review is for the Eilen Jewell show on 10/13/2018. The show itself was fabulous, 5 stars and beyond. The room has really good acoustics and it is a pleasing intimate setting. Eilen Jewell is so worth seeing and is one of my current favorite artists. I was realy looking forward to the show. This is where the praise ends. There were four of us with reservations. We arrived and were taken to our seats, where others had already been seated! After apologies and much shuffling around, we were given another table near by. It was super cramped and I actually had no space for my legs! The server appeared fairly quickly. We ordered some tasting sizes of the wine, which oddly, came with an entire glass of the same!. We tasted, but found the wine was not great. So back went the unordered full glass. Withing 10 minutes, a different server arrived with the wine again and some food we didn't order! lol! The food confusion happened again and then we ordered and actually received what we expected. The food was not bad, not great, but not bad. We decided to order a coupe of mixed drinks that arrived promptly but were really terribly made. They went back, too. The evening's service was just confused and iinefficient, though they were always polite and seemed to be trying to do a good job. The bathrooms are down a long flight of stairs and really dirty. Yuck. So bottom line, if there is an artist I REALLY want to see, I would go back. They need to level up on the service and seating arrangements. They need a bartender who can make drinks. And they need to keep the bathrooms in better order. My advice, eat before you go there and stick to beer for drinks. So 1 st

I attended a Wine tasting which they introduced 7 varieties with selected music, played by a live Band who were amazing! Food was ok. The space is gorgeous.

Hope Calhoun

All I have to say is WOW! Exceptional service by Haley. The venue is stunning - I would definitely recommend City Winery for dinner and/or drinks with friends. 10 out of 10 !

Michael Doucakis

They forget half the food you ordered and the other half takes over an hour to get to you. And of that half it’s undercooked. At least they took some off our bill.

Cara Scala

I'm not sure what to think about City Winery. The space itself is beautiful - modern without being too cold or industrial - and the concert venue had great acoustics. However, the set up is somewhat odd. The closest tables long and rectangular, set up perpendicular to the stage, and seat 12 people apiece. This ends up creating a situation in which you end up leaning to one side or another to see around the person in front of you, which wouldn't be that bad, but the seats get uncomfortable rather quickly. Prepare yourself for a sore bum/neck, especially if you're short like me. The biggest drawback, in my opinion, is the menu. The food options are overpriced and honestly a bit boring - kale salad, duck tacos, a "signature" burger, charcuterie, salmon, flatbread pizzas, truffle fries, srirachia cauliflower....there's nothing special or interesting about any of their offerings. Based on this info, we'd eaten elsewhere before the show, but I did order the house sangiovese and some tiramisu for a treat. The wine was delicious, but dessert was confusing - it ended up being "deconstructed" layers of puff pastry and mousse, served not on a plate, but in an old fashioned glass with a tiny pitcher of mocha-flavored cream. It was $10 of pretentious presentation for about $2 of actual tasty food (the hazelnut mocha mousse was good). Our server was polite and kind, and prompt enough, considering the sheer amount of people they had to service during the show. Overall - if there's a show here you want to see, you should go. Just plan to eat elsewhere and prepare yourself for the odd sightlines and you'll be just fine!

Daniel Smoot

Lucas was terrific. Great food and even better beard. Grab some fish tacos and enjoy the views

virgilosborn

Just attended 4 shows over the course of 6 days at CW Boston. Enjoyed it tremendously. From the under-attended JP and Pappy show in the very intimate Haymarket Lounge, to the sold out Joan Armatrading shows in the main venue. I received great service (thanks to Rob, Nicholas, and especially Kevin}. I enjoyed the food, the ambience, and the music was sublime. Looking forward to many more visits.

Marcia Gaudet

At a private event.....great atmosphere, food, wine, staff and location.

Lisa Casey

What an amazing venue! The acoustics were amazing and the intimate setting was unbelievable!!! BRAVO!!!

eyanna brice

Excellent service. The chef did an excellent job with everything from meatballs and calamari to the Apple butter and flatbread pizza. Drinks were a bit pricey but delicious. Servers were attentive and really pleasant. We saw the Legendary R&B singer Jon B there and the show was out of this world. I highly recommend this venue. I had a wonderful first experience.

Kevin O'Connor

Food was good, there are some really nice wines to try. We saw a concert there, and lucked out because we were in the front, but it's a long room so I don't know how good it would be if you got seats in the back.

Marian Dougl

Amazing place. The vibe is great, the drinks are tasteful and the music is excellent. Bartenders are really kind, they treated us as you expected from a high end place, but a drink here is half the price of The Aviary (an old-fashion-like drink is $10). I strongly suggest this place.

Jolt Hammer

Fun place to see a concert. Saw Rik Emmett of Triumph. Was fantastic. Good food. Reasonably priced beer.

Anneke Winther

I got tickets to a show for October; a friend got airline ticket in September from Denver JUST TO SEE THE SHOW - in one day out the next. We didn't get notification of the cancellation until THE DAY BEFORE the show. Well, two weeks before the show they sent an email which I didn't read because it didn't say anything in the header like CONCERT CANCELLED - just generic marketing email. So, my friend is out $325, I'm super annoyed, and clearly from the other comments, they have issues. I've asked for financial consideration and have not had the courtesy of a response one way or the other. Pretty sure I won't be a patron.

Sheila Barrett

Outstanding watching the Ventures last evening. This band, and the wine I was sipping, was the perfect blend and aged to perfection! I enjoyed the duck taco and the wait staff couldn't have been better. Very attentive and efficient especially during the performance! This is by far the best way to enjoy listening to music with friends. I am coming back for more!

Dennis Daly

A great night of entertainment. You gotta give this place a try. The staff was great. Level of service outstanding

Andrea Davis

The one star is for acoustics, which are outstanding. We bought tickets online where it said music started at "approx 9:30" which seemed late, but okay, we love Donna the Buffalo, it would be worth the wait. We drove into the city and made our way to the club. We got there around 9:10 and were told the music had already started. " When?" I asked. " Around 8:15" we were told. Unbelievable. For 32.00 per person. And they were finishing by ten or so we were also informed. It got worse. When we were escorted to our seats they were occupied and the people refused to move. The waiter/ticket guy said to follow him outside to discuss. Meanwhile the band was playing and we decided not to miss any more of the show. We sat in the less expensive seats and enjoyed our 45 minutes of music. Will not return. Like I said, really good sound system, too bad they have such poor management.

Andre Harris

The adress that Google sends you to is right, but wrong. You go to 1 canal then walk left around the building to find city winery. I went here for a concert. The venue had problems opening on time. The night I went they had only been open for 36 hours. They did a wonderful job for being so newly open. And when I say new, I mean you can smell the wood new. Rather upscale very beautiful setting. Good drinks. Food was a bit pricey. But it is a upscale restaurant. The concert space was nice. I felt that the tables were too close together. The room got hot at times, but house manager responded when alerted to the issue. Wonderful space to see a concert at. I would come here again.

Don Kaiser

Excellent venue for a special event

Bassillie Henry

Great experience and performance.

Evan Pinsoneault

Saw The Verve Pipe show last night! The location is beautiful, the staff was friendly and prompt, the sound is top notch (one of the best sound mixes in the city, and I've seen shows in a lot of different venues), and the wine was delicious. I was a little nervous after reading some of the earlier reviews (they opened fairly recently, and yes, seating is close, but I had no trouble seeing the stage), but they have definitely worked hard on listening to feedback and fine-tuning to make this a great experience. They are a unique dining and entertainment experience, I hope they do well, and I will definitely be back!

Joelle Bates

Mushroom risotto was very tasty, burger was ok. Had fun watching Improv Asylum.

Carolyn Cohen

First time being here and the venue is intimate and great for music. Food was good, but we were really there for the music. If you are a couple I'd suggest the two seater high tops in the back otherwise you may be crammed in by a group. We asked to be moved to the back because a group of people thought our space was their space. The staff were happy to accommodate us. Will go back and sit in the back.

Si Fish

Friendly staff, great food, and fun atmosphere, would definitely visit again

Jacin Halcyon

Great new addition to the Boston scene. Very intimate venue with a huge variety of wines.

Kasondra Nedeau

It was very expensive, and the food wasn't very good. But the atmosphere was great and so was the concert.

Tom Spano

Venue was fantastic. Although, upon arrival, 4 barstaff were to busy to notice us, and made our drinks incorrectly two out of two times.

Jim Blinn

City Winery Boston is the newest of a group of restaurant/ concert venue/ winery establishments. I attended for a reception so we didn't do a sit down meal. The food was quite good and there was a good band in the performance room. The wines are good but not great.

Jessica Schoendorf

Nope, not a good place to see a show. Martin Sexton was awesome! But the setup was horrible! Long tables with everyone sitting one in front of the other. It was like watching a concert in a straight line. Would not recommend it, especially for the price.

Chido Sanchez

Single star for the management that essentially didn't want my group there. The saving Grace was the bartender and the box office attendant only. Management copped the biggest attitude when we were actually having a good time and the bartender engaged in some light humor resulting in more laughter. The place was pretty empty and they seemingly nowanted to keep it that way. Oh no no no...a good time and laughter is not allowed. Take it elsewhere.

Molly Fitzpatrick

Food and wine amazing. Service on the slower side. They had no idea what to do with a gift card

Tom Curran

Concert hall is a nice listening room. Great venue to see and hear a show, which is the most important thing. Food was just OK and too expensive for what you got. Tables are too small for 4 people to hold meals and drinks.

Jurgita Rumbinienė

I had a reservation Saturday at 7 pm for my Birthday of 9 people. They put us downstairs in "VIP" room, which they use for maybe work events or something, it had a tv and board for meetings and no music....we asked to put us upstairs, some we sit in a lounge for ~1hour and 30 minutes while got a table. When waited 20 minutes for menu, 20 minutes to order food. Later we got our food, but didn't have silverware :D so we had a forks and after a while they brought a knifes :D but 2 people didn't had food...so we waited 10 min for they food....when we started to eat, the food was cold. Waiter was not good.

Sheryl Bass

This is a great place to see a show! Staff was friendly, service was good. Menu was fair. Wine list was varied. Within walking distance of a lot of other great places. Garage parking available right across the street. First floor bathroom. Call ahead for handicap accessiblity as the chair lift was broken rendering this location inaccessible.

DA S

Beautiful facility, spotlessly clean, excellent food (at Boston prices, yes a burger costs $16, sorry) great music and the sound system sounds superb. What’s not to love? Lots of parking garages nearby, this is downtown Boston near the Fleet Center, so yes, it’s going to cost you $40+ to park. That’s just a Boston thing. Or just take public transport or Lyft/Über.

Adrian Perez

Nice venue. It's Monday, and not many people. Boy I bet it gets very busy during weekends

Mark Kwatcher

Amazing food and the best staff ever. Hannah Lurier the pastry chef and sous chef is beyond compare. Her creations are over the top.

Beverly Masciari

The show was great (Herb Alpert and Lani Hall). The Venue was terrible....we will never go back. Seating was cramped, we were seated in the wrong area for what was we paid, service was terrible.

Pilot Steve

Nice place and all, but with prices like this you’d think there’d be soap and paper towels in the men’s room. The menu is quite bleak( be sure to eat elsewhere before attending a show).

Denise Wilson

My daughter and I visited the City Winery, Boston last night and thoroughly enjoyed the time with Shawn Mullins Music and two fabulous openers. The food and offerings were delicious! I think one area that may be worked on would be how to respond to guests who may not be aware of appropriate Listening Room volumes. Perhaps offering an escort out to the lobby.

Annette Moraleja

Went to work for Mindi Abair and the Boneshakers show at the Boston City Winery. The people we're all very nice and the wait staff was wonderful...Great show

Lorraine Varone

Ordered a $32 steak that was covered in salt.

Alyssa Helms

The opening was great! The burrata and steak was a perfect amount of food for the two of us and the wine was perfect. Really knowledgeable and friendly wait staff and cool space. Can't wait to go back.

Sharon Pacheco

Ian Hunter did not disappoint! Man is incredible! Great place to see a show! Service was good also, didn't eat there so can't help with that!

Marsha Auguste

Great place for a concert! The food could have been better. I will definitely go again. I dont drink so I cant comment on the alcohol lol take a visit and check it out! Pros: 1. wonderful place for an intimate concert. I saw anthony david and sy smith perform here (july, 2018) and I loved the environment. 2. Good place for a date. I went alone but if you want to be really close to someone, this is a good place to do it. 3. Easy to find. Not too far from the highway when you got off. 4. Friendly staff. To get their attention, you put a piece of paper in a slit on top of a wine bottle on the table and they come over in a decent amount of time and take your order. 5. Decor- wooden floors. beautiful lighting. 6. Seated concerts Cons: 1. The food could have been better and there wasn't much to choose from. I ordered a tuna sandwich which was decent and a side of fries. The fries were VERY salty (and I love salt but it was too much). I couldnt finish them. If it was toned down slightly, it would've been perfect. The girl across from me ordered a dessert but took one bite and never finished it. 2. The seats are way too close together. It would be better if every other chair was removed. I went alone and was sort of forced to get to know everyone at the table lol maybe that's not a con after all lol.

Kristen Colby Thomas

Jon B was AWESOME!!!! The food was delicious...

Kelly Farquharson

Great wine. Food is served tapas style. Service is great - very friendly and knowledgeable. Location is convenient to the T. Building and space is huge and beautiful. Pricey, but great for a special occasion.

Mike P.

This place is just okay. For the price it is bad. Ordered two of the exact same meals medium. One came out well done, the other was extremely rare. It's a nice looking place that doesn't live up to expectations. Bathroom was covered in urine.

Geoff Reno

Not sure where the negative reviews are coming from. Parking? It’s downtown Boston for goodness sakes! There literally tons of public garages around. Bathrooms in the cellar? Of course they are just like every other Boston restaurant. But these are super clean. Super service both at the bar before hand and in the venue. We had drinks and apps at the bar. $1 oysters 5-7 every night. Nice! As long as you’re inside about an hour before showtime you’re going to get great service. Wait for the show to start and OF COURSE service will slow. It’s dark. Waiters don’t want to interrupt your show. It’s time to respect the music. Not chow down. Anyway. Really nice space. Really clean. Oysters were super fresh. Wines are good. Not great. But really good. Had a Manhattan after my first wine flight. Very nicely crafted. Go early. Take it all in and have a good time.

Lois Carter

I went to see Macy Gray. The service was great.

Beverly Giacobbe

Great place to see live music. Food, wine and service were great! Would definitely go again!

Nancy

Defiantly not worth the hype ! Food was alright but the staff... untrained and not knowledgeable at all! One of the workers I believe was named Kyle(blonde hair ,annoying voice) had a horrible stench... ever heard of a shower before work buddy. Way too ruin the experience lol.

Andrew K

The Fix We're GR8. And The Winery Gets Some Wonderful Acts... However: CAN YOU SAY NO PARKING ANYWHERE (unless you post bail at $40.00-$50.00 per park). It's Near The Boston Garden Is Why. BATHROOMS ARE IN ANOTHER WING OF THE BUILDING. FIGURE 5 MINUTES TO GET DOWNSTAIRS TO THEM AND 5 MINUTES BACK. CRAMMED IN LIKE A SARDINE. FOOD IS FAIR, AND ATMOSPHERE COOL. Will Go Again For The Right Show, But Wouldn't Go Out Of My Way For It.

Thomas Berry

The food was tasty, if over priced. Our waiter unfortunately didn't follow a notification that one of the diners in our party was gluten free. We ordered the honey mustard short ribs, but the waiter didn't either know of the item, or didn't understand the order, and we did not get the item we asked for. The wine list is impressive, and the sommelier gave a great suggestion for the wine we had. The service may have been mediocre due to the musical event going on downstairs.

Beverly Azure

Had tickets for the Cowboy Junkies but the concert was moved and could not get to the new location. Went to Rufus Wainwright who was excellent but paying 100$ for a ticket to sit at a table (I am using the sit and table very generously). Everyone ordered food there was not enough space for food, let alone moving your arms to actually eat. The folks next to me were 1/2 in my seat. As was everyone else unless there was an empty seat. It was the most uncomfortable experience I have had. You have more room on an airline seat. It was impossible to get up from your table without disturbing everyone else and that means 20 other people as all the tables are jammed together with no space between. Also, I could not see, because the people next to me were taller and unless I moved into the isle and blocked the wait staff, my great seat was useless. My recommendation is skip the expensive seats and go for the bar seats, so you don’t have to actually sit. I can see the performance fine from the back. The venue is small enough that you still feel like you are in the front rows.

Randy Sequeira

Nice venue to take in live music. Arrive early and have dinner at your table. Herb Alpert still fabulous and going strong.

isabelle simms

First time there, attened a private party in the Haymarket Lounge. Nice venue, friendly service, apps were tasty. Would visit again to experience lunch or dinner in the future.

Jeff Charland

Boston Location — Wine is good BUT When we asked the bartender if the wines were made by city winery he said “I think So”. We Ordered a pizza and it was burnt to a char on the bottom and the pizza was soupy and it being 2pm in the afternoon on a Friday when it was next to empty, you feel they would have been ready to serve. Sad to say, We are a one and done here! The actual interior is beautiful but we honestly had no clue who worked here and who didn’t based on casual dress attire.

Simon Lind

Fantastic venue. Great food, drink & atmosphere. Also a great Live music venue. From a musicians perspective, the sound & stage set-up is top notch.

Steve Singer

Beautiful reastaurant Staff was very good. The entertainment venue was superb

JF Sullivan

Good food. Good wine. Good entertainment. Usually good service

Tyler Unwin

Not such a great experience. Walked in on a Saturday night and it was empty. The waiter didn't even introduce himself and mentioned they wouldn't do the wine flight that was on the menu (it's a wine bar). The food was sub par - over priced. They better step it up or they won't last long.

Meredith Hinz

Came here over the weekend for a live music event. While the venue itself is nice and intimate for these smaller scale artists, the service leaves little to be desired. It took over 15 min to even make eye contact with a bartender to order a drink, and it WAS NOT busy. Less than half the restaurant was full and plenty of open seats were at the bar. Once we ordered a drink it took another 10-15 min to actually get served and close out. The bartenders were perfectly nice but had no sense of urgency, which was extremely frustrating for people like us trying to get to one of the events on time. Will not be returning.

Michael Epstein

Fine food, great wine. The wait staff and sommeliers are so helpful. The seating is a bit tight, it's table style. You get friendly with your neighbors. The show we saw, the Irish Comedy Tour, was hilarious. This is a new, trendy place, but I went there too, so you know the old(er) crowd goes too. A little tough to find. They could use better signage. We really liked it. We'll be back.

Tom Robbins

This was a great place for watching a show, service was awesome. Beer prices are very reasonable.

David Mountain

Great show, great venue. Did not eat there but might next time.I would definitely go back for another show.

Timothy Ladd

Great food and vibe here. Very at ease and friendly staff.

Frederick Wright

As others have said, this is a very well designed space, open and airy, with excellent acoustics. The menu is conservative, not too adventurous, and most things are executed well, particularly the Milanese Pork Chop. But be aware that the portions are very tiny, about a third smaller than even European portions, so its a good idea to treat the main courses as if they were tapas, order several rounds for the table. Service is knowledgeable but can be easily overwhelmed when things get busy, leaving you high and dry for 30 minutes or more.

Cheryl Ross-Arnold

If you come here for music, try and get high tables on side or in the back. The floor level chairs are way too hard. Also way too much movement during show. They should limit serving food during the show by having an earlier cut off for orders. Very disruptive. Also you to have to wait well after show is over to get your bill and close your tab. They should have bills ready by the time the show ends. Take a clue from some if the comedy clubs. Nice venue but it needs work.

Chelsea J

The music and the wine was out of this world but the food was no way up to par. Service did the best they could and I’m sure it’s not their fault dealing with people unhappy with their food. Romain had sand in it and burger was way overcooked. Fries were over saturated. Risotto balls were bland. Too bad nice venue, I’ll be sure to eat beforehand.

Beautiful place inside but it’s brand new… seating was tight similar to sitting on an airplane. The service was ok however they came to the table continuously as we are watching a performance. The sound and acoustics were top notch!

Excellent food. Excellent wine. Did I say excellent wine? Excellent wine. The vibe is intimate. The sound is other worldly. AMAZING.

Totally recommend the wine tour. Nick was a wonderful host - great service and great wine. Bar service after was also good, and the cocktail combining ginger beer and red wine was surprisingly tasty.

We purchased the New Years Eve 4 course dinner special. The food was superb, wine pairing was great and the customer service was excellent. The interior of the Winery is always pleasant to be in. Unfortunately this is our second time dinning here and the mice were running around the restaurant in numbers. The last time we were here my wife saw 1 or 2 of them running around. For whatever reason today she saw a dozen mice during the few hours we were there . In addition to that a female across the restaurant starting vomiting in the corner and the smell made its way to our table. At that point we asked for our check and left the restaurant. Management definitely attended to the incident in a timely fashion. The couple honestly should of excused themselves from the dining area long before the ambulance came!

Outstanding! Keith made the experience feel like a home away from home.

Here to see Carbon Leaf live in concert!

The concert venue is a big long room. Do what you have to to get a seat near the stage. The menu is limited. Our server was inexperienced but very attentive and quick.

Bethaney Duncan

Went to see a live podcast here and had a wonderful time. The wine was fabulous, and the venue is amazing.

I had the honor to be a guest of my best friends engagement party! She had it inside the gallery at City Winery! The second walking in the door we were all greeted by many friendly staff! The GM C.J was so professional and helpful with anything we needed! The whole staff service was top rated! The food & drinks were amazing! We will be going back to City Winery very soon! Such a pleasure! 5* Thank you City Winery!

Had the good fortune of seeing two shows at this new venue already and the audio for the listening room is superb. Staff have been super friendly and helpful. Glad they're finally open!

This place had the worst service I’ve ever had in Boston. To boot, the food wasn’t even good. We had a party of 6, the waitress forgot about us for 20 minutes at a time. One of our group had steak, by that I mean 4 thin slices of steak. When he asked for a baked potato the server said ok, then she came back and offered mashed potatoes, then she came back and said there was no choice but fries. He got his fries 25 minutes after his steak. Three of us had burgers that were pedestrian at best. When you charge the prices you do, the food and service had better be on point.

Bartender was great, knowledgeable and personable with great selection of wine plus other drinks. The food was flavorful but dried out. Great place to see some top notch entertainment

They fixed the seating issue, food and wine are good... It met my expectations... Wait staff was also very good.

Really great nice sized venue with good acoustics. Fine selection of wines.

City winery is an interesting place because it is a restaurant, a winery and a music venu. I think unique is a better word because it is a winery where they make their own wines on site. That being said, I understand that they do their own winemaking, but I was disappointed that with wines by the glass, they only serve wines that they made and they gave you no other options. I wanted a glass of chardonnay and they don't make chardonnay but made a suggestion on a white wine which I did not like. Also, their wines are pricey! Why am I paying $11 for a glass of wine that is made on site and there's no interstate commerce fees or taxes? And it was a small pour on top of it! When I go to California and order wine, it is much cheaper because they make it right there. The same should be for City Winery! Finally, I ordered a cheese burger and it was $16 plus $1 for cheese which I think is too much for a burger. When did burgers became so expensive? The concert was good.

Attended a charity event here and it was amazing!

An interesting place. Went for dinner/concert. There seemed to be a huge disconnect between the bar tenders and venue staff. They did not know much about the box office, or general questions about who was playing or how it worked. They did not know what the special was, and were making drinks by reading a piece of paper. The food was very good, and the menu had a wide range of options. My confirmation email said what time the doors opened, and not what time it started, so we were two hours early. I was also emailed that I was given a free upgrade, which was not passed on to the ushers from management so they could not accommodate me. It's a great location across the street from the t, and parking is nearby too. Willing to try to do dinner and a concert again, now that I know what to expect, but wish we knew all of these things before going. Will update upon going again.

Food portions were disappointingly small. "Sharable"plates didn't really offer much. Wait staff was very slow and made a lot of excuses for mistakes. It kind of seems like the huge space is difficult to manage as a restaurant. Music was great! Looks like future shows will be great.

This is the perfect place for a relaxing evening with some superb dishes and amazing wines! The staff was really kind and engaging, and recommended food and wine selections that all turned out to be great. My favorites were the burrata and the mushroom flat bread, as well as the CW rosé. At the suggestion of the staff, we got the chocolate espresso mousse and port wine for dessert, which was such a great idea! I'll definitely be back again.

Went to a show last night, seated at one of the very back high-top tables. It was probably a better choice than most of the regular seats; it's easy enough to see over the heads of everyone else, and the room really isn't that large, so you're still not too far away. The sound is still really good even at the back, and unlike everyone else seated at the lower tables, you don't have to crane your neck sideways to be able to see the stage. The seats were comfortable, with padding and a good backrest. The food and wine were just ok, not worth the price paid. We got there just as the show was starting and they had already run out of flatbread which was disappointing. The service, though, was very good - prompt, helpful and unobtrusive. Being at the back, you do have to deal with the servers going by you a little bit, but it wasn't distracting.

I have never in my entire life been as disappointed in a company as I am with City Winery. I have decided to share my recent experience as a cautionary tale: While listening to the radio one morning, I heard about an upcoming show at City Winery Boston featuring my favorite artist. I got an email later that morning from that same radio station, 101.7 the Bull, with a ticket presale code, so I went to the City Winery website, entered my code, and purchased two tickets! Not even five minutes later, I received an email confirming my tickets. I was beyond excited for this concert and was thrilled to have gotten my tickets early (the show is in November). Two days later, I received an email from City Winery asking me to call the venue because there had been an error and my reservation was not complete. Mind you, by this point, I had already been charged, and I had an email confirming two tickets in my name. I immediately called the venue, only to be told that there had been a glitch in the system - the tickets I had purchased for $11.50 per ticket were supposed to be priced at $25 per ticket, so my confirmation was invalid. I was told that in order to actually reserve tickets, I had to pay that full price. They told me that, despite the glitch in THEIR system, they would not honor the ticket price that I had ALREADY paid and I needed to repurchase the full price tickets in order to attend the concert. I explained that I needed to discuss the new price with the friend that would be attending the show with me, as it was more than double the original price. I recognize that it is not a large dollar amount, but it was the principle of it! When I called City Winery again, about 15 minutes later, the show was sold out. I was offered a refund (because, despite not actually having tickets, my credit card had been charged), but City Winery offered no solutions - no apology, no honoring the ticket confirmation, no credit for the inconvenience, nothing. Just me missing my favorite artist because of an error that is 100% the venue's fault. I thought I would be all set for the show, buying my tickets stress-free, presale, but because of City Winery's "glitch" and lack of customer service, I am missing the concert of my favorite artist.

Pricey, wine not to our taste for the price you pay, staff are polite, pleasant and working with what they've got. Expect to be well tended, don't be afraid to ask questions about the wine.

Louis Bello

Cold food. Bad service. Oysters sitting out open before served. Asked for Horse Radish. Got it 15 minutes later.

Sandra Horowitz

We had a wonderful evening of music, wine and dinner. It is a unique kind of place, modern but cozy with a dedicated music space and restaurant and wine. I was surprised by the high quality of music. We saw Sonya Ray Taylor and her band.

Emma McMillan

Great venue with full bar and great acoustics. It's a standup spot With little seating but well done. Last night Leftover Salmon, my second time seeing them. Awesome concert ! I owe a lot to my friends who turned me on to this excellent group and you know who you are. It was a special night of music and dancing to the sound of top musicians.

The McEdwardses

The wine is produced on site. Large dining room space and bar. The performance venue is intimate and has table service. The food was good. Offering a variety of small plates and shareable dishes.

Kim Washington

Attended the Peabo Bryson concert, it was fabulous! The venue is very nice. Unfortunately, my food never arrived during the whole concert! Also, the restroom is down a flight of stairs. No mention of an elevator for mobility impaired customers. This is a picture of my neighbors food. This would be a nice venue on another day.
