A perfect place for a chill day. The wine was very nice, we did the wine tasting. They have many great wines. The service was great, friendly staff. The sitting areas are wide, the vineyard is so beautiful. And the music played while drinking the wine makes the experience perfect. Moreover that have a little shop , and some food available to eat while drinking. Great place for a fun day out.

While the grounds of this vineyard are stunning and their wine was good, their service was lacking. A group of ten of us went to the vineyard intending to do a wine tasting at the vineyard. We emailed the vineyard ahead of time to see if we could make a reservation for a wine tasting since we had a rather large group, however, we received an email back claiming that they did not offer reservations for the wine tastings. So that was fine with us, we just figured that we would go there and do the tasting, even if there was a wait. We then get there and go to buy tickets and are told that we cannot buy tickets for the tasting because the tasting bar has too many people at it at the moment. The woman then tells us to check back in twenty minutes as they sell tickets on a first come, first serve basis and that you can't purchase tickets ahead of time. The woman then suggests we buy a bottle of wine, so we do. After twenty minutes passes by, someone from our party goes back up to check if we are able to do the tasting and we are given the same runaround. This same thing happens about two more times. At this point we have already purchased a few bottles of wine and are now fed up. Someone from our group then goes back up and demands an answer about the wine tasting. The women at the counter then says that because we have a large group (10 people) we should have made a reservation. The person from our group then proceeds to tell the woman at the counter that we emailed the vineyard and were told that they don't take reservations. The woman at the counter then offers one commemorative wine glass for the inconvenience after some back and forth. This place clearly cares more about being more commercialized and concerned with making money then they care about people enjoying their vineyard and having a good time. They essentially bully you into buying bottles of wine because the tastings are always full. Mind you, our group of ten purchased a total of 6 bottles of their wine and did our own tasting. It was just frustrating to see the same few people at the tasting bar the entire time we were there. They should sell tickets for the tastings with set times written on them and offer new tastings each hour so they can rotate new groups into the tasting, so that the same people don't stay up at the tasting bar the entire time. Just a frustrating experience to say the least.

Favorite vineyard in the area. Good wine and food. The vineyard is beautiful especially when you're sitting on the beautiful wooden chairs enjoying a glass of wine on a nice day. This place is seriously relaxing!

Beyond incredible. A 5 star California "Napa" style vineyard right here in New England. Not only is the wine incredible (the Rhode Island Red is the best) the property has expanded and is worth a walk about. Served food has actually gotten better and we have been coming here over 12 years!

Love this vineyard

This is a review on their communication and advertising. I haven’t been yet because whenever I call, no one answers the phone for the tasting room or the cafe, and the pre recording that plays is not up to date. Also all their extensions are broken on their line as well. I just dont see how anyone is supposed to be able to plan a visit when the administrative side of the business is so poorly run.

Enjoyed the drive to the vineyard, nice setting. Lots of seating outside to enjoy the day. We arrived after the rain, so we did our tasting inside of the barn. Nice verity of choices. Staff is pleasant and knowledgeable.

The wines are delicious and you can’t beat having a glass in the field, sitting in a wooden chair. It’s a bummer you can’t bring outside food. I recommend the Amrita is you like sweet wines.

Once one of our favorite vineyards to frequent in MA/RI, the quality of experience has significantly deteriorated over the past few years. Bottle prices are on the high end but were once compensated for by the atmosphere. Now inconsistent weekend entertainment and disallowance of bringing a snack to share while sipping wine leaves you forced to purchase more overpriced goods while you fill any gaps in conversation with the obnoxious chatter of the drunk group a few seats away instead of listening relaxing jazz. With a few other wine venues not far off with better locales for a multi stop afternoon or day trip, Carolyns needs to revert back to old practices if they want to maintain a satisfied audience of regulars.

Beautiful !!

Over priced. Same price for two tastings as a single tasting and a bottle of wine down the road. Can't believe you can't relax with a bottle of their wine and your own cheese and out in the field. Tasting was ok.

Clyde Williams

Fun afternoon, great friendly employees, especially Liz!

This is a beautiful venue, however, trying to get correct info from anyone who works there is very difficult. I have been trying to get into the cafe for 2 years, first they say you need to email the manager and ask for reservations, then after far too much time has passed, and several emails, she gets back and says, "first come first served". Then, when we arrived, we were told, "oh we cannot seat you since we stop serving at 7 pm", it was 6:35. In my opinion the whole food service is very poorly run.

I have been multiple times and no complaints here. Wine is great, tasting is inexpensive for I think 7 tastings and you keep the glass. The grounds are beautiful and I've seen many people bring their own snacks and have wine out in the field, great for a picnic! The food at the Cafe is also very delicious and the staff have all been excellent.

A must visit vinyard! Jess and Deb made a late visit to the tasting room in winter a wonderful experience. Spring can't come fast enough to truly take in all that this gem has to offer;

Beautiful relaxing spot. Perfect for an afternoon picnic with a great bottle of wine. Amrita is delicious if you like sweet wine.

This Vineyard is worth the drive! The setting is so relaxing and beautiful, down a long and winding driveway from the main road. There are multiple lovely outdoor sitting areas, some with shade umbrellas. There is also a small stage where I’m told live bands sometimes play. There is something for everyone in terms of the wine selections. I prefer sweet whites and was thrilled with the Block Island and Siren wines. One of my friends prefers dry reds and really liked the Eye of the Storm wine. They also had good sandwiches and cheese boards for snacking on. The cost of doing a tasting was reasonable at about $17 and you get a collectible glass, though my friends and I opted to each buy a different bottle and all share while casually soaking up the sunshine and exploring the property. Highly recommend and I will be going back VERY soon.

We were very sad to see that Carolyn has closed the full-service kitchen at the vineyard that once offered fabulous flat bread pizzas and salads. As of summer 2019, only box lunches are available for purchase. The sandwiches are rather bland with limited selection and appear to be shipped-in from a caterer in Providence. Vineyard staff said they were said to see the resturant close, but Carolyn has decided to focus all her attention on her new restaurant, which recently opened in Newport. Very unfortunate, Carolyn! We come up every summer from South Carolina to enjoy your vineyard but left this year very disappointed!

The Red Rhode Island wine is great but the service leaves a bitter taste due to the owner's and the chef's policy of no seating inside while having wine and no food even when it's raining outside. A great vineyard that I'm sad to say, I'll never go back to.

REALLY DISAPPOINTED! Check that they are open before making the trip. The hours on the website are not accurate.

My wife and I have visited this vineyard many times over the past 8 years since moving to RI. I think the wines are good and the tasting a reasonable price. We always bring our wine loving guests here as well as Newport Vineyards for a nice afternoon of tastings. I do think, however, there has been more commercialization since the vineyard was sold several years back to Carolyn (Alex and Ani).

Steve Maislin

Production-line atmosphere. This is not the way a tasting should be as it is rushed, noisy, and commercialized. Maybe it would be better at weekday off hours. I don't know. Some of the wine is worth purchasing, especially the one with the grapefruit hints.

As of this time I'm savoring an inexpensive sweet white...their Block Island Blend. I've encountered some of the most hospitable and helpful staff. One was very insistent on helping me with my food purchases to the table. I've noticed, they've added "The Merchantile!" An extension of this winery however with a bit more detail. Here they showcase other products such as jewelry, soap,makeup..some house wares, clothing and of course...the wine and some food products. As I sit on this scenic veranda..a soft breeze whooshes through the greenery. They are playing melodic soothing romantic music. What better way to get one caught up with the moment.. I would have to say...after leaving..it was a great day My friends..please take the time and visit Carolyn's Sakonnet Vinyard...

Nicole Tillery

A great winery and cafe. The wine tasting was cheap, the woman providing my tasting was knowledgeable and had great recommendations. I loved the wine itself. I also ate at the cafe and enjoyed the food and excellent service. Finally, the people in the show were helpful and friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Jeffrey Vancura

Great atmosphere & friendly staff.

Beautiful setting. Lunch was good. Didn't like the wines. Other local vineyards have much better wines. We go to Newport Vineyards instead. And the bread cubes they serve to go with the wine tasting look a lot like mints. Definitely not mints! And wasn't good bread either.

Really great vineyards! Property is incredible! I wish they didn't feel the need to blast music all over the tasting room, surrounding grounds (they even have speakers in the ground!) and patio. If I want music, I'll visit a discotheque. A vineyard should be all about the wine and nature... Well at least not loud music! Still worth a visit.

Brian Spencer

The wines are pretty decent, and it has nice grassy outdoor seating. It is very unfortunate they no longer allow allow customers to bring and eat outside-food, even when they are not selling any themselves.

Loved the atmosphere. Lunch was very good, my salmon was cooked perfectly. We found a wine we liked through the wine tasting and bought a bottle. Sat under the shady umbrellas in the vast field by the vineyard, drank our wine and took in the beauty. Perfect day.

this used to be such a great winery - still a very nice spot, but since the alex and ani purchase, it has become too pretentious - the prices have gone up and the quality down.

Michael Carroll

Great selections of wine, beautiful atmosphere, and amazing employees! Love the Amrita!!!

Sakonnet vineyard, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Beautiful open fields, vines, and super cozy Vermont made wood Adirondacks chairs and rockers with nice shade for partaking in a bottle of the noble rot. Super friendly staff who constantly check in to see if anything can make the experience better. Tasty vino perfect for sipping outside on a sunny day. And most importantly, dog friendly outside and even in the tasting room. If we didn't live 4 hours away, we would be here every day soaking up wine and sun all day long. I can't imagine a better slice of paradise.
