So I was driving off by UMass Amherst Route 5 looking for somewhere to buy a gift for a friend. I see signs for a Vineyard down a turnoff and I think, "Oh, its probably a small farmstand or something". I drive across a train track down a mile of road full of industrial supply stores, gravel depots, and heavy machinery, and turn onto a dirt road leading into the woods. At this point I have pretty low expectations when loe and behold a proper Vineyard that wouldn't be out of place in the Berkshires pops up seemingly abruptly in the road. The area is beautiful, the seating stylish, and the tasting area fabulous looking.
I spoke to one of the servers and they helped me pick up a bottle of wine and some kind of local brand of soda for the road. Service was great and pricing was actually quite a bit lower than I'd expect from the post-modern high scale they appeared to be going for.
It is interesting to note the majority of complaints are about pricing, with a vineyard of this style and of this small size you tend to expect higher prices. The fact that one of the lower reviews lists $12 for a tasting of 5 wines to be unacceptable weirds me as that actually seems like a relatively reasonable pricing, as is I was shocked their wine was only $20 ish, as I would've ballparked it at $30 myself.
All in all a beautiful place that I'd recommend to everyone, just don't be surprised that you're getting fancy vineyard prices at a fancy vineyard.
