REVIEWS OF 1620 Wine Bar IN Massachusetts

Food was good, service incredible. Live piano music was the topping

Carlos Ulloa

Most amazing staff. I'm not a wine drinker and they suggested different wines based on my drink and beer preference. Can not say how much they were helpful with my wife and I and educating us in wine.

FlamesOfTheSoul

Great atmosphere and good band.

This place was awesome. Great atmosphere. Very nice inside. They have a patio to enjoy the beautiful views and a fireplace inside for the cold weather. You can not only do a tasting, but you can order wine by the glass as well.

I visited 1620 Winery for the first time in July 2017 as part of a group event. The staff was fantastic and the wines were quite good. The wine bar had a rather in-depth menu including some unique cocktails. Plan to come and try a few more from the menu!

As many have come to appreciate my detail reviews of places I have been, this one will be most enjoyable. My wife and I attended a 50th Anniversary here 7/22/17 and upon entering this establishment you will immediately notice that the owner not only payed attention to details, but is serious about giving her patrons the best experience they could possible have. When I critique about restaurants or bars, I always admit, I am being picky about the bar's appearance and should it be welcoming. This precious gem of Plymouth puts "destination bar" on steroids. The bar area located in a living room atmosphere with a baby grand piano, wine racks, plush couches and chairs, antique accent pieces, ornate copper like ceiling tiles, wood floors and is designed in a rustic look with a tree trunk cut vertically, with bark in tact along the edges finished off with high gloss acrylic. The wall in back of the bar is brick with the display of their wine, the brick design gives that arch brick oven look, set in with shelves careful placed with soft lighting behind it to illuminate the bottle just right. You won't find a speck of dust anywhere, as this place is well kept for a business that has been opened for a year. Bathrooms are beautifully designed, unisex and are completely immaculate. Wait staff are "drop dead" beautiful with great personality and cleanliness to finish it off. This is NOT a place you come to for dinner or mixed drinks. They serve wine and some beer and Hors d'oeuvres and if you have dinner arrangement in the area, this is a place to come before or after dinner. Also they have an outside area to sit by, well placed fire pits and seating areas. I small function room is adjacent for quaint gatherings with a small four stool bar to serve from. Many little nooks to sit around this wonderful place to have either a personal meeting or just to relax with some of the best wine I have tasted. Hats off to the owner who has completed knocked it OUT OF THE PARK for offering up one of the BEST GO TO places I have been in a long time. I have traveled from coast to coast, performed and vacationed in a lot of places, but this place in on my TOP TEN Platinum reviews. If anyone is looking to design a bar, to see how you run a business, or to have a great experience, I would suggest you visit a little piece of Heaven located in Plymouth, MA opened all year round.

Great selection and location. Friendly staff. Outdoor seating with fire and an amazing woman giving warm blankets straight from the dryer! In addition, they feature live music.

2 visits from downtown long time residents. First visit seemed a little pricy however the drinks are unique and food was mediocre. Sand flys biting us wasn't a total turn off. Second visit we felt rushed as the waitress seemed annoyed and kept trying to take the menus away after initial order. Drinks were nice however the stuffed mushrooms were like soup and the menus filthy..

Super cute! The wine selection was great and we loved that you could get a sampler of wine! The charcuterie borad was also fantastic! Highly recommend! Even if just for a little glass of wine and a rest stop!

There's beer too! And good appetizers! The rest of the group said the wine selection was good. Going Sunday when there's a piano player next.

This place is phenomenal! The organization I work for hosted a reception here for a group of about 20 people in October. The space was perfect - the atmosphere was cozy, historic, and beautiful and could have easily accommodated a group twice our size. The space, food, and wine were all exquisite, but one of my favorite things about this place is the staff. The group that worked our event were welcoming, friendly, personable, helpful, funny, kind - this list of praise could go on and on. They went above and beyond to make this event a success. I look forward to returning with friends and family and would highly recommend hosting your event here.

Great time at 1620 Winery tonight. A TON of wine options to choose from, they had everything. Cheese platter (but has meats, breads, desserts, etc.) was enough food to replace our dinner plans for the night. Thinking about heading back tomorrow !!!

It was the first really springtime weather Saturday night of 2018, and after a super-busy week, my amazing girlfriend wanted to sit outside and have a drink, so we drove down to Plymouth to see what we could find. Not surprisingly, we were *not* the only people who had the same idea, but hey, we New Englanders love when our winter ends and we can open our windows to longer daylight hours and spring's gradual warmth. We went to the Waterfront Bar & Grill, were told it would be an hour's wait, but hey, my girl deserves some fun, so we agree. It's super-loud downstairs, so we go upstairs where it's even louder and more crowded. The bar is about three people deep. It's Cinco de Mayo so there are margaritas, tequila shots, lots of Bud Light, and people waiting for Brown Eyed Girl to come on so they could belt out the tune. I politely told her this wasn't going to work (omg), and we walked down the street where we stumbled upon 1620 Winery. There was an available couch in their outdoor seating area, so we were all in. The waitress told us up-front that this was their first outdoor seating night of the season and they were trying to figure things out, like, how to get the firepits to work (that would have been awesome). Totally fine. We each order a glass of their own wine, and relax away from all the belly-bumping, Sweet Carolining, Celtics-cheering revelers a few doors down. We both thought the ambiance was what we wanted and will be even more so as they get into their groove. The wine was okay; we won't order it again, but were glad to try something new. The menu seemed super-small to us, but that's because we weren't bright enough to realize there were two sides to the menu page (#notaproudmoment). We ordered meatballs and the margarita flatbread. My girl enjoyed them both, particularly mixed together. I ordered another glass of wine, which never came. The waitress sincerely apologized, and we understood - it's busy indoors, quiet outdoors, and it's their first night for outdoor seating. Not a problem. The waitress then comped us one of our glasses of wine by way of apology, which was really nice. All in all, we're glad we went. We're going to go back, and assuming they get their outdoor seating ironed out, this three-star review will climb to four or five. Oh, and maybe I should add that I liked the wine glasses, but my girlfriend said "absolutely not," so I wasn't able to liberate it and add it to my collection. If you're more wine that woo woo shots, then maybe drop by. Here's to spring!

Truly fantastic experience! Superb wine, phenomenal cheeses. A must-do while you're in Plymouth! I can't wait to go back. The owner was very personable. Her enthusiasm was evident during each pour. We did a tasting and then sat outside to have a glass and devour a cheese board. Inside was exquisitely designed- a very earthy and warm, cozy feel. The wood and stone finishes were absolutley stunning. The outdoor porch was inviting and had nice, simple, decorative accents. Even the bathroom was beautiful! I highly recommend! This is the full package - great wine, scrumptious cheese and charcuterie, and set in a historic yet modern atmosphere. Kudos to these new owners for bringing a treasure to Plymouth's waterfront.

The owner was in and he walked around the tasting area with a miserable look on his face. He did not interact with any of the staff or with any of the customers. It was very uncomfortable for everyone. It was a picture on the wall with his face on it so I don't know who he was but he just was so miserable for that one photo and comfortable. He loomed over us as we were relaxing on the couch. The wine was really not that good. We both got flights until you were able to try a good amount of the wines. All very watery and not much substance. Definitely would not be back again
