We have the feddbacks of people like you who used the products and services of Old Westminster Winery (Winery) in the state of Maryland.
Nowadays the firm receives a score of 4.8 out of 5 and that score was based on 136 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is practically the best one, and it is based on a very large number of reviews, so we may be pretty sure that the assessment is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to value when they are satisfied, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to give feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Winery belongs to the category of Winery.
The winery inside and outside is very beautiful, some of the staff were very kind and pleasant, however the young lady that served me and my family made is very unwelcom. From the time she came over to serve us, she gave us the impression that she really didn't want to assist us. When I asked about the wines she quickly brushed her hand across the paper and said " all of these are dry except this one. She served is the wine punch and walked away. Everyone else that was in there, their server was right there with them talking to them about the different wines. We were left standing there. We actually had to get some one else attention to call the young lady over to us twice. She made is feel very uncomfortable.
We came on a Sunday afternoon where the food truck hadn’t shown up, and were served by Gary. He was awesome! Very knowledge about the wine, accommodating given the changes in food schedule, and all around a great experience. The view is great too!
This family is making some of the best wine Maryland has to offer. They are always as accommodating as they can be. We really enjoy Saturday afternoons sitting outside listening to live music and enjoying their wine. This family has brought something truly amazing to Carroll County.
Beautiful venue! Would be a great event space. Below average wines and first time I experienced a tax on the tasting fee.
Old Westminster Winery is a great place and atmosphere, has great wines, and run by an equally great family. It has been an honor and a pleasure to work with the Baker Family.
Old Westminster Winery is a one of a kind operation. From the grape vines to the family ties that make this place what it is, you can see true dedication to top notch quality. I have personally known the family for about 13 years and can say with out a doubt that when they delve into something they go all in. And that is proven time and time again through every aspect of the winery. The new(in fall of 2015) winery is a show piece that leaves no detail missed. Hand built by Jay Baker himself, the father of the trio that makes up the team. With years of construction under his belt, he spared no expense in creating an outstanding facility that young and old can appreciate. The whole operation is managed by the son Drew. He has a business mans charm but with a young boys sparkle in his eye that you will see when he talks about the wines his younger sister Lisa masterfully creates. Lisa is basically the mad scientist of the group, but mad is the last word you'll think of when meeting her. With a smile ear to ear she is always open to sharing about her "bottled babies". Then we come to Ashli. The youngest member of the crafty clan. When you first meet Ashli you are immediately sucked in by her welcoming presence. This characteristic made her the perfect candidate for the marketing and events side of the winery. If you've ever been to an event at the winery, whether it be a afternoon of live music or one of the several wine dinners they've had, chances are you've interacted with Ashli. Trust me you won't forget her. All in all Old Westminster Winery will not let you down in any way. I'm honored to call them friends and dare even to say they are family. Spending an afternoon at the winery sampling some of Marylands finest wines will be a memory you will not soon forget.
Recently my wife I hosted an event totaling 80 people at Old Westminster Winery. The Baker Family presented an experience above and beyond our expectations. The wine, venue, and gracious staff exemplified the environment we envisioned for our guests.
We had an awesome reception at Old Westminster Winery..OWW was able to help us out with an unexpected last minute change in venue. Old Westminster Winery was unknown to us when were scrambling to find a place, however they were able to easily manage our event as if we had it planned for months. Their warm hospitality made the event feel like we were right in our backyard, but with charm of a luxuriously catered event. The kind staff Ginger, Rainy, Katie and Katie treated us if we were old friends.
What a great place! Takes wineries to a whole new level!!!!
Very friendly staff, spacious wine tasting room and beautiful farmland. My wife and I enjoyed our date and we had a delicious glass of the 2016 Trio.
Very philanthropic and gives back to the community; great family run local winery serving distinct wines; truly a treasure in Carroll County
Very nice! Love the tables and bar which are made from an oak tree that fell on the property. Prices are reasonable and the appy style food choices are
Great place
We had our wedding here in May and it was beautiful! The staff and owners are amazing! They went above and beyond to make our day special! Thank you for being amazing Old Westminster Winery!!! Can't thank you enough!
Old Westminster Winery has produced some of the best wines in Maryland since the day they started. The new tasting room is by far the best in Maryland and the staff is always very friendly and knowledgeable. I find that the more I go, the more I learn and the more I truly appreciate wine. If you decide to go often, make sure to join the wine club for some added perks. I can't wait to see how this place grows, they have honestly exceeded all of my expectations. From local wine, to the locally sourced food available, this place is the obvious choice for a beautiful weekend getaway.
A great place to enjoy a delicious bottle of wine. Their tasting room and outdoor events are fantastic.
A gem in the Carroll County countryside, Old Westminster Winery & Vineyard is setting a new standard for excellence in the local winemaking profession. Highly recommended!
None better!
Beautiful vineyard and Winery! They also have a wonderful philosophy about their growing practices and they also give back to those in need. It was a great joy to collaborate with them on a T-shirt design that highlights their principles, process and the clean water organization they support as well!
I have always been very impressed with this new winey in Maryland. They do a great job with the wine production, and even more so in working with their customers. I even had their wine for my daughters wedding.
Nice winery and really good wines. Kate helped us and could not have been friendlier or more knowledgeable.
I love OWW. Been going there since summer of 2015 when tasting was in front of house. New winter set up was so comfortable. I would put some Carroll County quilts to help absorb noise. We love the Solera.
Great Wines
We held our Company Holiday Party at the Old Westminster Winery - the venue was perfect and everyone had a great time!
Old Westminster Winery was the perfect setting for my wife's surprise 50th birthday party. We had almost 70 guests easily accommodated in the tasting room. Kate and the entire staff at OWW were more than helpful in helping to setup, select wines, and host the event. I can't say enough how happy I was. The setting was beautiful and they allowed me to have the caterer arrive early to setup and decorate. Kate managed the wine selections and I was able to take any extra home. I would highly recommend OWW for any event you are planning. You will most definitely not be disappointed.
Nice clean and we'll stocked winery that offers entertainment on weekends, good wine selection and free wine club.
Beautiful countryside. But I've had better wine at local wineries for less money. The food we were served was good, simple tasty, and worth half of what we paid. A small cup (4 oz.?) of water was a dollar. Service was pleasant, even eager, but we waited around for a while to receive any sort of greeting.
The carbonic wine in a can was simply AWFUL. Tasted like battery acid (or at least how I would imagine battery acid tastes).
I found Old Westminister Winery to be impressive. In so many cases, the Natural Wine phenomenon has left me with an awkward taste in my mouth (literally and metaphorically), but these wines were a phenomenal exploration of technique and terroir that I found enjoyable. Everything I tasted was fantastic, and I found the staff to be knowledgable, and enthusiastic about the wines they were offering. I ended up taking so many bottles (and cans) that it will be hard to figure out exactly what I'll podcast with. If they shipped to Arizona, I would have honestly considered being a part of their wine club.
A great place to relax and enjoy wine. Check web for entertainment times and food truck. No on site restaurant.
A hidden gem in the hills of Carroll County. Westminster Winery''s mission "to put Maryland wine on the map" is inspiring. A true family owned business that wants all Maryland wine to be successful. Their new tasting room and outdoor area are comfortable and relaxing. The winery's outdoor events are a lot of fun with live music and unique food trucks. It's a privilege to have this winery basically in my backyard. Keep up the great work!
Old Westminster Winery is about an hour outside of Baltimore. Pulling up to this winery I noticed it was much smaller but equally beautiful. There were lots of people sitting outside enjoying their afternoon, talking and listening to music coming from the speakers. We arrived around 4:00 and there was a sign posted outside that the winery was closing at 5:00 for a wedding. We quickly went in and looked over the menu because we needed food and more wine. I noticed a Well Crafted Pizza truck parked outside but our server told us that was for the wedding. We decided to order the large cheese board which included a some meat and a baguette. Because I had Rose’ at the first location, I ordered it again. We went outside and grabbed a seat and our cheese board came out within 10 minutes. Because we took a tour at another winery and because we were on limited time due to the 5:00 pm wedding, we decided to just eat our cheese board and drink our wine. It was a nice cheese board indeed – it included three cheese slabs and a soft goat cheese, butter, preserves, meat and a baguette... perfect for two people. We also sat in the "Adults Only" section which I loved! I don't have anything against kids but I would prefer that they aren't screaming, running around or horse playing when I'm drinking. We left around 5:00 and headed back to Baltimore, just in time to beat the rain. If you're looking for a something to do on the weekend, definitely consider visiting one or both wineries. It was a great day trip just outside of the city. As always, follow my eating adventures at @ArlisAppetite on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Great way to spend a weekend afternoon!
When many people think of Maryland wines, they would choose to put the phrase in quotes (ie. "Maryland wines") as if to begrudge Maryland the privilege of producing wines of character and distinction. In many cases they'd be right - but those people have not been to Old Westminster Winery. This is a winery that produces real wine, foregoing the often typical fruity silliness that is typical of local wineries. The ambiance is excellent, and getting even better (I'm told) as they expand their operation to include a tasting room (tastings used to occur in the tank room, which had a rustic charm all it's own). They're good folks who literally welcome you into their home, and you always feel like they're glad to see you when stopping in for a bottle or a taste. I couldn't be more excited to have a first class small town winery in my own back yard, and I sincerely hope they do not lose that charm as they grow, and grow they will! If you like visiting Maryland vineyards and prefer real wine, you owe it to yourself to check out Old Westminster Winery.
I never heard about Maryland wines before Old Westminster Winery. They are truly putting Maryland winds on the map! The quality and creativity they put into each step of their manufacturing process is inspiring.
Exceptional. Finally, someone is setting a new standard for Maryland wines. The estate winery is run with an unflinching eye for detail in every phase of the process, and that's clearly evident with their product line, grounds, tasting room, well-attended events, and overall presentation. They're setting the bar high, and that's great news for Maryland Wine. It's high time that Maryland gets its proper place on the map, and as one who frequents a lot of wineries in the region, it seems clear to me that Old Westminster Winery is leading the way. Highly recommended!
If you are looking for a beautiful venue to have your wedding at, please look no further than this place. Gorgeous scenery and professional staff are key for anyones special day and Kate and her team deliver to perfection! They will accommodate every way possible to ensure your day goes off without a hitch. Loved working with them!
Great wines! The tasting room is cozy but very loud. You may choose a table, high top, or comfy couches. We think it a little odd that they offer cocktails because the wines are excellent. Looking forward to spring when we can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery and live music!
I ran into Old Westminster Winery's wine at the Westminster Wine Stroll and was impressed. My wife and I went to their tasting room and were equally impressed. Not far from the Agricultural Center, it's tucked away from traffic. They have a beautiful setup with a great walk in, abundant outdoor space, and a majestic tasting room. They boast a tasting menu of wines sourced entirely from Maryland grapes. I enjoyed all but one of the flight. We went on a Friday and it had a good sized crowd. They partner with local vendors for the food. On our visit, it was oven-fired pizza. I believe they also sell cheese and charcuterie. The prices for the flight and individual glasses are a bit steep but is certainly what the market will bear. They are going for a high-end experience, which I appreciate. They have signs prohibiting limos, busses, and parties (unless arranged for). The staff was professional and knowledgeable. Will certainly visit again.
This is by far the best winery I've seen in Maryland, and I've been to dozens. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, the wine is delicious and varied and the indoor atmosphere is truly a treat. Not to mention the spacious patio area and yard for bringing along all your friends! Tucked away in the hills of rural Carroll County, you can't ask for a better spot to unwind.
Very nice service, wines all ok. Not my personal choices.
Outstanding experience and more importantly, terrific wine!
Such a great place to host an event! My sisters bridal shower was a huge success due to the beautiful location, friendly/helpful staff, and the delicious Old Westminster Trio Wine! They have fun events on the weekends and are kid friendly! An awesome place right in our very own Carroll county!
I never tasted the wine(driver) but the atmosphere was great internally and externally.
Love this place!!
Very relaxed, family run winery. The head winemaker provided a table side tasting and was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Awesome
The best wine!
Good unique wine and a great atmosphere. The bottles were a bit expensive.
Their wines are truly the best in Maryland and the surrounding region, for that matter. I've been there a bunch of times and have a great experience every time I go. Their tasting room is incredibly welcoming and cozy during the cooler days and has a relaxing vibe on the patio during the warmer days. I'm a sucker for live music so that helps too.
My wife and I joined OWW Crew Club to take advantage of all their wines. We enjoy amazing date nights together in the fun and quaint atmosphere they offer. Their wine selections are amazing and you cannot go wrong with any of them. This is truly our favorite winery in Maryland!
Interesting wines. Some decent sparkling wines produced in the champagne method. It's nice to see the elevation of wine production on the east coast.
Just went to thefor the first time last night and had a blast! Plenty of different seating areas to suit anyone's needs (family friendly picnic table areas with plenty of green space for kids to run around, adults only area up close to the live music, big indoor high tops, covered patio seating). My wife and I each tried a flight and then picked our favorites to get glasses of. The woman to our left and the couple to our right at the bar talked up the perks of joining the Cru Club so we ended up joining! You're definitely doing something right when your customers have so many positive things to say and are spreading the word. Oh yeah let's not forget to mention how great the wines were! Great selection to suit any palate. Can't wait to come back for food truck Fridays and bring more friends!
Just a wonderful atmosphere to just hang. What makes it even better is is the product, the fine wine, the bouquet and various taists of the wines they produce. What really makes it happen are the great people (the owners, & winemakers) who have the passion for the making Maryland wines are in the map!
Delightful selection of fine wines
World-class wines in the heart of Maryland! The Baker family is creating wines that reflect a real sense of place. A new tasting room will add to the appeal of visiting the rolling slopes of Old Westminster Winery.
Great wine sampler, loved the Trio.
Delicious vintages with the backdrop of beautiful country setting, this winery is just the place to relax with family and friends. The Baker family offers wonderful service and I have enjoyed being there every time I've gone! Their Sauvignon Blanc is fabulous and I just tried the Trio and it's my new favorite.
Old Westminster is a lovely little vineyard that I've frequented several times. The wines are well crafted, and have nuanced qualities across the taste spectrum; the peaceful scenery holds a tranquil tone. Perhaps best of all is the warm and genuinely friendly staff, who are welcoming and thoughtful in their wine suggestions. Highly recommended.
Wonderful local winery. Nice spot to relax, enjoy delicious wine, and support a family business.
I was only here for a small wine tasting gathering and didn't get to see much of the property. Seems like a cool place in a fairly secluded place
Great venue family friendly!
Great place pretty good wine wonderful atmosphere.
Great experience
A hidden gem in Westminster. Love the tasting room and outdoor accommodations.
Beautiful scenery, friendly staff and great wines! I will definitely be returning.
Lisa and her family are a pleasure to work with! The atmosphere of their winery is breathtaking! Highly recommend going to this space to relax with friends and family!
Great example of what MD wine can be. Beautiful venue and people too.
Good winery with unique wines. Nice outdoor area with live music. Thanks!!
My husband and I love meeting up with our friends and family at Old Westminster Winery. We are always greeted with warm smiles from the professional and knowledgeable staff. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere with beautiful scenery and great wines, we highly recommend the tasting room at Old Westminster Winery.
Great Albarino! Pretty setting with good seating options. Nice staff.
The location is scenic with nice views every direction. Wine was nice, staff was great, cheese plate was excellent and was a nice value versus many other wineries. They had live music and plenty of inside and outside seating. I highly recommend a visit it is worth the few extra miles from 70.
As a restaurant and catering businees owner I can say that the Old Westminster Winery produces some of the regions best wines. It is our pleasure to serve Old Westminster's Wines at the Brick Ridge. My customers always respond with positive comments after their first and last sips. It is a real joy to provide our food and service at the winery for any special occasion. The Baker family always welcomes our staff to their property and assures that together we provide the perfect day with wine, food and service.
Wonderful experience. Needs sound dampening though in the tasting room.
Great wine, great setting, and the owners are super nice!
Excellent wines and superb customer service.
The Baker Family was a pleasure to work with!
Beautiful views, wonderful staff, and tasty wines.
Old Westminster Winery is one of our favorite venue's to work. BricknFire has set up to vend pizza's with their Friday night music lineup, catered parties and even a few weddings. This vineyard is picturesque with a beautiful patio area with fire pits. The tasting room is open, clean and sophisticated. Our point of contact is Ashley is friendly, easy to work with and only wants to make each event the best for her guests!
Old Westminster Winery is one of our favorite venues to cater events and work at! The tasting room is beautiful and is the perfect spot for an intimate private party, rehearsal dinner or wedding. Ashli, Drew, Lisa and the entire staff is incredible to work with. And most importantly, their wine is fantastic. If you are looking for a fun place to spend a Saturday afternoon while enjoying wine and live music or trying to find a venue for a private event, Old Westminster Winery is definitely your spot!
I love this family and the loving atmosphere they create for not only wine lovers but for people in general. It has been a great experience learning from them the art of wine making and sharing the knowledge with friends and family.
Great setting. Good wine. An enjoyable afternoon.
Love their wines and they make you feel like family.
Great wine, great family, and great business story. I can't wait to see what the next 10 years have in store for the Baker family as they continue to craft world-class wines right here in Maryland.
We went with 2 other couples with whom we regularly do wine dinners. One of them is a wine member of Old Westminster or whatever they call it. We brought a picnic lunch. First we did the tasting, purchased some bottles and then had lunch. It is a nice tasting room and a lovely spot. Many Maryland wineries aren't that great. Even though Old Westminster hasn't been around that long, they are making some very good wine, particularly their whites.
Would liked to have had more choices of sweet wine. Otherwise the evening was nice.
