Boordy Vineyards has paired delicious wines with a great atmosphere! I am fond of attending the Summer Concert Series nights. What is better then listening to live music, sipping tasty wine, and eating snacks. It is BYOS (bring your own snacks), so research some delightful cheese pairings beforehand and have yourself a relaxing evening!

If you're expectations are low (looking for an outdoor place to set out a picnic in front of barn and buy a bottle of wine) I'm sure this place is good provided you come in a few hours before closing. As someone who is accustomed to Long Island wine country which offers views, sit down service, and full food menu as well as later hours and accommodating staff that doesn't kick you out right at the closing time, this place was a joke. Came in at 4:30 which I was told was the final tasting time that we could come in. (Rushed to get there with my SIL who had to leave prior plans so we could make it in time). Thank God we made it "under the gun" which the staff didn't fail to point out more than once to justify the lack of service we would be receiving. There was a counter and a staff member standing over us while we drank, ready with the next bottle. Soooo I drank the wine quickly and didn't really have a chance to enjoy what little experience there was to have. We had 20 min to kill before the 5 o clock "kick us out" so we wandered the shop which was SPARSE. A few wine bottles on the wall. All in all, def didn't feel welcome (final call or not, we are still patrons) and will definitely look elsewhere for a better experience.

We went for our annivesary 7/16/12, I schduled a private tour for 2 people which was great its only $10.00 per person for the private tour which is very inexpensive for small groups & couples, it made the time there more special. The staff was very friendly & knowledgeable about the history & wines. The tour was given by one of the owners, Sallie. She was great, took pictires for us & really friendly. I suggest for like a prviate tour ( like 2-small group) go on a week day. Its quiet & we had the place practilly to ourselves. The wines were delish & teh price was nice, both bottles of wines we bought 1.$12.00 2.13.00 each. Thats not bad. I also suggest bringing a picnic as well so you can enjoy a glass of wine & eat your food at the winery. The cheese was good too with the tasting! The best part? You get a wine glass with your tasting! Would love to go back & would order theier wine for a speacial event.

Love this winery and wine. 4 stars because there is one I like better. But Boordy is my general "go to." Especially the chambourcin merlot, my fav. Very smooth.

I love coming to Boordy's!! I love their wine!

Wonderful community ,family gathering. Great venders and local farmer's produce

Kicked women out "because they were in heels" and denied a group of 250+ when they arrived because of that. Very unprofessional and rude. Only ports-potties as restrooms as well.

Great wines, great people, and you can't beat the atmosphere. Oh and if they have the wood fired pizza or the Italian food truck there you got to try it! We've been coming here for years and each time we've met good people and had a wonderful time. Well worth the drive.

Beautiful winery in Maryland! Great flavored local wine for a decent price. When you visit the winery and sign up for a tour, you can learn about how the Boordy wines are made. The tasting area is awesome. You can select wines to try before you purchase. Also, during the tour, you can bring your purchased wine with you to sip and enjoy! There are outdoor concerts and food vendors that are typically at the winery. It's encouraged to bring a picnic blanket, chairs and even outside food for a nice picnic.

Staff were extremely rude. We were trying to do a tasting outside and a staff member was chatting with a girlfriend. We stood there waiting and listeni to their conversation until the lady behind the register yelled at us to go to another window. How about telling your staff to get to work. They also give you plastic cups, like the ones you drink mouthwash out of at your dentist's office when you buy a bottle to drink onsite...bizarre. Will not return

Un posto molto carino dove fermarsi a prendere un bicchiere di vino ed un boccone all'aperto (controllate che ci siano dei food truck nel giorno in cui visitate).

I have gone here once on the weekend in spring. There is a large outdoor area where you can bring in your own food and non alcoholic beverages which is unique. They also have a grill out front. I love the area. The tours take about 45 minutes. Fun fact - boordy is named after one of the owners children pronounced bordeaux wine as boordy.

Beautiful grounds, tasty wine. They have picnic tables where you can pack in a meal. Free tour at 3:30. Only downside was the lack of restrooms - just a line of port-a-potties. They had sinks with water so not the worst. I liked the chardonnay best.

Unhelpful attitude, lacking the warmth and charm it used to have. We experienced jobsworth attitude which made for an utterly wasted trip.

Great experience today visiting the Vineyards and sampling the fruity wines. Ellise was pleasant and knowledgeable. It's a little bit out of the way but definitely worth the trip.

Overall, a great environment. Beautiful area with lots of space to sit & sip some wine. Great tasting wine with many options. Also nice live music & food trucks. Probably one of the best wineries in the area; highly recommend.

As a provider of audio services for events, I get into a lot facilities. When client contacts me about an event at Boordy Vineyards, I get excited! Whether in the barn, the yard or the cellar, Boordy Vineyards has the facility and ambiance that your event needs. The staff is skilled and ready to meet your needs and improve the experience for you and your guests. Occasionally a client will not have chosen a venue when the contact me. Boordy Vineyards is at the top of my list for facilities that provide for conversation and fun. Did I mention the wines? I had my first Boordy wine in 1990, the day of my first date with my wife. We stopped in for a bottle t go with our picnic lunch and have been stopping in ever since. Boordy wines are our first choice when choosing wine for a party or as a gift. We took a bottle of Apple Spice as gift for our Bed & Breakfast host on our thirteenth wedding anniversary. We particularly enjoy providing music and microphones for events at Boordy, as we make your event even better, which is no mean feat in this beautiful facility. Went during the chowderfest event and had a blast! You get more than what you paid for...the tickets said there would only be four free wines to taste, but there were about eleven! Tip: get to the events early with friends, bring some more snacks, and get a table. Everyone was doing that and was making a party of it. The wines are amazing and super affordable! Recommend for the whole family!

Charm'tastic Mile

Boordy Vineyards was featured on FOX 45 Morning News 5th Annual "Vinovember" segment presented by The Charm'tastic Mile of Baltimore. Wines from Maryland to enjoy during the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Petit Cab was a medium-to-full bodied wine with flavor and a nice round balance.

Just wonderful. Atmosphere. Wine. Everything you need. Best in the area.

Chad Jordan

My first time visiting Boordy's was a very enjoyable experience. The environment is perfect for a group of friends to gather around, drink wine, and enjoy each other's company within the atmosphere that they create. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be returning again.

Boordy really does it well, lovely tasting experience where there is 1 staff member per tasting group which is great, nice wines, and gorgeous venue. Live band on second floor over weekends with a good food truck outside.

Aurora Dawn Benton

Lovely day. Great band. Tour was informative. The grill food was tasty. Only negative was we were rushed thru the tasting so it ended up feeling like we had to chug a glass of wine. Also no crackers to cleanse between tastes. But all in all a great place to spend the day. Bring chairs/towels or arrive at grounds opening to snag a patio table or picnic table.

Boordy is the Best! Great wine and food vendors

Lovely visit over Labor Day Weekend where it was full but still not too crowded to enjoy and plenty of open seating. So after a pretty drive through the country, we pulled in and got a parking spot in the grass right near the entrance. We were there just to visit, but there was an evening (sold-out) summer concert that evening as well. Upon entering, they do offer you the 2 tasting options, and we selected the $10 which included 7 tastings and a Boordy labeled wineglass. The property is immaculate and very beautiful and an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. We took one of the FREE tours which was very well done and informative, involved minimal walking and took about 45 minutes. Finally, we took our tasting which is done at a large outdoor booth which has 5-6 tasting stations. Our server was efficient and prompt, although not particularly friendly. They provided a card to read which wines you are tasting, and then she tells you what is being poured. All told, this happened very quickly, probably less than 10 minutes. If I had any disappointment about our whole experience is that (for being at the winery where they have no middlemen adding costs) the tastings were pretty stingy. The few tastings I have done elsewhere are normally around 3 oz / a third a normal serving / about 1/5 of the glass......these pours BARELY covered the bottom of the glass. I guess we literally got a tasting so what we paid for, but definitely nothing more. They do have 3-4 water dispensers around the area to get drinking water or to clean out your cup. They do sell wine as well, but it was no cheaper (if not a tiny bit more) than your local liquor store. Anyhow, we bought a bottle and sat out on the benches under some great trees in the yard and enjoyed the ambiance. They did have hot food options available for purchase as well. A very nice place they have and wonderful they have opened up for low cost visits such as this.

Boordy is the oldest winery in Maryland. Great place, beautiful property. Maureen, Cindy and Greg were super friendly. Great wines. We did both flights and bought 4 bottles.

Pamela Golden

Peaceful and relaxing . Friendly service. Great wine and good food. Love Boordy winery!!!

James Chapman

Boordys best flavors shine through with their landmark reserve wines. My wife and I prefer wines that are on the dry side and these wines deliver with both excellent flavor and without the sharp burn and bitterness inherit to many drier wines. We joined the landmark club and could not be happier. We often bring friends and family to events at Boordy and have been greeted with great times and a warm welcoming environment on every visit.

Great little vineyard! The wines here are some of the best we've had.

The grounds are very beautiful when the day allows for it. There's plenty of space for blankets and picnics. The benches aren't as plentiful but you can find a place outside to relax/eat. The wine tastings are affordable and the wine selections are amazing. The staff are very knowledgeable. It's a very friendly atmosphere and I hope it wasn't just a one off experience.

Very disappointed with the lack of indoor space. The outdoor events are fun, but if the music is pulled inside then you have to get there as early as possible to get a seat, or one of the barrel “high tops”.

Stephanie Mayer

Loveeeee Boordy! My favorite is the Pinot Gris and my husband loves the Dry Rose. We were there for an event today and had a great time. The outdoor area is lovely but the upstairs of the barn is the coolest spot.

We enjoyed our 12th anniversary this past weekend and loved what a lazy fun Sunday. I'm from Baltimore county originally and now reside in Philly and will be back often, oh I add a few shots to for folks to enjoy.Happy Dad signing out!

Lovely experience, historic and many events throughout the year

Nora Lützgendorf

Boordy has a nice location, but that's not very hard given the beautiful surroundings where they are located. Unfortunately the wines are not good and the tastings overpriced. All this considered, I think I would have given them 3 stars, but I will remove one star for not allowing dogs. For such a big open space like theirs I don't understand it and I won't go there anymore. I can see that this is a very personal opinion which is the reason why I'm explaining my particular choice of stars.

Michelle

The tasting selection was just okay and the girl who did ours was a bit rude and seemed in a hurry to get us out of the way, despite the fact that only one other group was waiting and there was someone else doing tastings at the next window.

Hamilton Turner

Really enjoyed our time. Great vibe, the sommelier was definitely experienced, and the wine was tasty. Beautiful scenery and loved the live music and dancing. Looking forward to the next visit

One of the most enjoyable tastings I've ever had (and visiting wineries is my hobby). Elise was a pleasure and so knowledgeable. We bought both of their wine tasting menu options and split them in order to try a broader selection of their wines since each list's wines were different. Elise not only gave us in-depth info on the wine itself but also offered food pairing suggestions that were very helpful. The wines were great and the visit top-notch. We ended up buying 6 bottles.

Darcy Stewart

Great wines but is expensive. They have a variety of dry and sweet wines. The cheaper wines are better then the the expensive. They don't do wine tasting for the cheap ones. The music is nice. Cover charges are high about $20 a person just pays for admission.

This was a fantastic spot with Award winning wines! Did the tasting and there are several wines worthy of note. Will return soon. Please be aware that not ask of the wines are available for purchase as you must become a member of the wine club wroth them in order to purchase there limited production wines!

I always like boordy wine. Since we are local I feel like we can come here at anytime with no reservations. Today's experience is horrible .wanted to get wine tasting and an elderly lady says we will close @ 230., I look on my watch and I have 5 minutes, she did not offer to serve so I did not impose . So I said I will get a bottle of wine to go .Went inside , I saw crew staff are putting wine in shelves . I was about to get Reisling. And I was stopped by the white lady..saying, " no, don't touch that go there and they will.give you one" pointing out the cashier. I always get my wine from the shelves when I go there.I understand if they are closing early due to some event or whatever they are having but do not treat your customers like that. It was very RUDE. So, walk out frustrated. Then I saw the lady still serving people for wine tasting ..now, that is racist. .I will never come back nor give my business .

Dave Gormley

Great place to catch a play and enjoy some wine. Check out their events. Caught a performance of MacBeth. The drive there once you get off the beltway is a bit of a winding road. Beautiful location. I'm no wine expert, but was surprised that the riesling was not overly sweet, but pretty good as far as I could tell.

We love it! The wine...the winery...the people! It's a magical place to relax and enjoy the afternoon. Reminds me of the wonderful reasons why my husband and I fell in love. So glad to be a Landmark Member and receive the newsletter, specials and specialty wines, too.

I've had Boordy wines at local wine festivals. So I was already relatively familiar with the wines. However, I'd never gone to the winery. Since they're only 45 mins away, we thought going for a tasting would be a perfect way to spend a few hours on a Saturday and my best friend came down from Virginia ready to purchase a good number of bottles of her favorite Boordy wine - their Chambourcin Merlot. But one bad apple really can spoil the crate. Let me be clear, the rest of the staff was great. Had I bothered to remember names, I'd call them out directly so they're clear it wasn't them. This review is squarely directed to the older lady who made it a point to watch over our visit as if she were guardian of the vineyard. Two of us did the Reserve tasting, two of us did the Icon. However, we were told that all of us should go to the cellar, to start, as the first three wines were the same for both tastings. As soon as we walked in, the woman saw that two of us did not have the Reserve wristband. She indicated the Icon tasting was outside. We relayed what we'd been told. She still wasn't convinced until she saw my wristband. Should have been the end of her interaction with us, but instead she proceeded to: * Follow us down to the cellar so that she could personally inform our server that only two of us were to get the full reserve tasting. To which our server acknowledged she understood. * Five minutes later she went BACK to the server and again reminded her that only two of us were to get the full serving. We hadn't even been served the first wine yet! * She buzzed around the wine bar another 10 minutes, I assume to make sure that our Icon tasters did not go beyond their first three tastings. Funny how her post at the top of the stairs wasn't so important in those 10 minutes. * We'd been given an umbrella by the gentleman at the gate. He asked us to please return it, as the couple ahead of us had done. I put it under the stair well away from everyone. She picked up the umbrella presumably to put it away. My husband informed her that we were using it. Her answer was - it was no longer raining and she was told the umbrella belonged to the winery. He acknowledged it did but that he preferred if we returned it ourselves as we'd promised we'd do. So she relented. * As soon as we finished and headed to the Icon tasting she was hot on our heels. She attempted to make small talk to ask how we liked the wines but I felt she only came out to make sure that we didn't benefit from the second tasting. I know when someone is treating me a certain way because of my race. Too many years of experience to ignore the signs. But I'll point out a few... First of all, why was she posted at the top of the stairs? The cellar is also where you purchase wine so access to the cellar is open to anyone who visits the winery. And if indeed it requires someone there, then she was absent from her post a good 10-15 minutes while she hovered around us to ensure my guests didn't get a one ounce taste of the reserve wines. I also never saw anyone at the top of the stairs as we were leaving. Second, since the gentleman had provided the umbrella to other couples, why did it suddenly become so urgent that she put the umbrella away while it was under our care? In the end we handled the case like I do with any business that displeases me - I voted with my dollars. Boordy missed out on sales that day. I won't bother to visit again nor bother to spend dollars on their wine elsewhere. They should probably take a few pointers from Linganore and Running Hare - two Maryland wineries that appreciate the most important color in this country: green.

Worth the drive! If you like wine, do yourself a favor and visit Boordy Vineyards! You will not be disappointed!

Went in the summer with a group of college alums. We had a very nice tour and then finished up with the premium tasting. I was very impressed by their gutsy move. A few years back they had a wine consultant come in to give advice and he said they had maxed out the potential of their vines. If they wanted to make better wine, they needed better vines. So, they started a program of ripping out their vines and planting higher quality ones. Based on the tasting, they are succeeding in their goal. They had some very nice wines. We then grabbed one of the picnic benches and had a picnic lunch and had some of the wine. Fun time.
