Although the food was good and my server was excellent - for these prices I would expect house made pasta. It's boxed pasta and if it's not, they should change the recipe because it does not taste it. $100 for two with no alcohol so you can understand our surprise. They have rows of wine, plenty to choose from and a direct hop from the trolley. Calamari starter was crunchy and delicious. If you don't see a pasta or entree you like, they give you the freedom to customize a dish you would want. I really enjoyed my cannoli. It was exactly what I wanted to end the meal.

Awesome experience, it does it all for the restaurant. The wine bottles are all in the back like a store and you get to shop the racks. The food itself was great. We had a little mix up on the order which was quickly rectified. The staff even gave personal input on places to go in the city while in the are.

Pretty good dinner at this Italian restaurant. They have both indoor and outpost seating on the sidewalk. Was hoping to do some carbon loading the night before the big run and this place did not let down. Came just in time to still get happy hour prices on drinks and apps. Everything was 1/2 price including the wine by the glass. They have wine by the bottle but none is on the list. You just have to go through the collection to see what they have. Started with a nice sparkling rose to go with the steamed mussel. Yum. The. Got a Pinot Noir to go with the Pasta Bolognese. Besides the meat sauce it also came with two large meatballs. My SO got the pasta with seafood in a cream sauce. All delicious. Was so full had to skip the desert.

Don't go here on Mondays! A complete disaster. Had one of the waitresses opening oysters; not a professional shucker. Took 40 minutes to get a dozen. Bartenders completely inattentive and there were only 8 customers including us. Considered walking the ticket just to get out. No one would give us a bill.

Well the food is actually pretty good, the price points are little on the Steep side. As far as the wind goes they try and tell you that they are selling retail and they don't have the traditional markup yeah we chose a bottle that can be bought for $12 and they were selling it for 34 that was even higher markup then it most other restaurants. Not sure I would put this on my to do list

The general manager and manager of this restaurant are excellent, we came for my sister's birthday and they brought out glasses of wine to celebrate with on the house. So special, and when a mistake had been made they went above and beyond to correct it. Would definitely recommend them. A cute little Italian restaurant that is delicious and delightful.

Woody the bartender and Chris the GM were so accommodating to my party of three after we had an AWFUL experience next door!! This was truly NOT their responsibility. But, knowing that we had not eaten they were gracious enough to offer us appetizers with our drinks to console us!! We will definitely be back!!!

The ambiance is fantastic! Just the right mix of Old School Sicily and New Orleans jazz. The marinara was some of the freshest I've ever tasted, and I grew up back East where "Hey... how you doin'?" types are everywhere. Daniel, our server, was excellent! He was just the right amount of attentive yet gave us time to enjoy the amazing food! I would definitely recommend Marcello's, 7 days a week, and twice on Sunday!

For the price point I really thought this place was going to have more "wow" factor. The food was fine don't get me wrong, but I felt like I was paying for the atmosphere more than the recipes. We had the brussel sprouts (it's a giant plate) which weren't bad. I think crispy brussel sprouts is a safer bet, but these were still quite soft and squishy, but maybe that's your preference. We had the marsala and spaghetti with meatballs for our main courses. My lady said the spaghetti was fine but felt the meatballs we're lacking in some seasoning/flavor. I completely spaced when reading the marsala description - it comes over polenta which was a first for me (and a bummer since I dislike but that's my own fault). I did find the sauce itself to be lacking in that typical deep, rich marsala flavor. The pork was pretty bomb though, pulled apart like heaven and cooked a perfect I'd say medium rare. Maybe this place is trying to be very subtle with it's flavors? Not sure. Didn't feel worth the price point unfortunately.

There were 17 of us in our party on a Wednesday evening. The service was a bit slow, but we only had one server, Derek, who was kind (patient) and accommodating. I ordered the Pollo Arrostito which turned out to be worth the extra couple minutes it took to prepare and one of the most amazing chicken entrees I've ever had. Wonderfully delicious. I also ordered the Pretty Bird cocktail. I had to have another. It was just delightful. The whole experience. I recommend it.

Really was hoping this place would be good . I ordered the long stem “artichokes” as an appetizer, I was surprised when I saw the plate come out. Four small artichoke hearts with stem attached. I mean kick over a full artichoke for the price or advertise on the menu it’s only the heart. I ordered the boneless half chicken for my entree. It was the most gritty chicken with a bone in it . The menu needs to be true to what it says. The waiter was kind enough to trade it out for the chicken parmesan. It was good. I wouldn’t recommend the food but the server saved it. Wine list is okay. This is one of the overrated restaurants in NOLA

Make sure to get a reservation! However, we sat at the bar and had a lovely experience. Our bartender/waiter was excellent and took great care of us. He made me a wonderful frothy espresso martini. The complimentary bread is phenomenal. The tomato soup was delicious. I enjoyed the eggplant ravioli for dinner and took home the yummiest parmesan Brussels sprouts.

Pro tip: HH they are 1/2 off appetizers and wine. Bartender took great care of us for our last meal in Nola. Hadn't had wine the whole trip so I was looking forward to a glass. He gave me a taste of several wines until I found the one I liked the most. After finishing my polpettini I wanted a rose and he suggested a bubbly rose instead of a flat and it was sweet and dry. Perfect! POLPETTINI - $15 mini pork meatballs, feta, broccoli, mushrooms, pine nuts *really rich full-bodied sauce, absolutely loved the combination of feta, crunchy broccoli, delicious sauteed mushrooms and pine nuts. *great with their house made bread to sop up the remaining sauce If I'm ever back in the area I would definitely get the MARSALA PORK CHEEK: braised pork cheek, mushroom, dry Marsala, veal demi-glace, parmesan polenta.

Marcello's is small and it is not easy to get a reservation. The cooking is high-end traditional regional Italian, not American Italian. It is also relatively expensive. That said, the food is delicious, and you can watch chef Marcello prepare your meal. They have a great Caesar salad made tableside and a super antipasto plate among the appetizers. The service is solid and the chef comes to your table to chat. Not a kids' place, really, but a really good dining experience.

Welcoming, warm, and inviting. The menu has a little for everyone, traditional and a little bit of avant-garde. Cancelled reservations at another place and we found this place on Yelp nearby our hotel. We were in shock with how good this place was considering we found it on short notice. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants my wife and I have been to. We got the meatballs and mussels as appetizers and both were amazing with tons of flavor. For an entree, I got the chicken park and my wife got seafood pasta. Bonus points as this place offered zucchini noodles instead of normal pasta which my wife thoroughly enjoyed. Next time we come to New Orleans, this is our top place to go. Already recommended family to come here when they come down in a few months.

Went here recently with a large group to celebrate and was absolutely blown away by the service and atmosphere. A lot of restaurants feel like libraries but this one seemed like a place people could actually come to hang out and have fun. They were able to accommodate a table of 9 on two hours notice which was quite impressive. I wish I could remember our server's name because she was a delight. The large table didn't seem to phase her. The food was good. It didn't blow me away but I've had much worse at much "nicer" places. It's Italian classics at a fair price and a generous portion. We started with some appetizers - caprese and calamari that were fun to share. I had the chicken parmigiana and it was very tender without being dry. Tiramisu was quite moist and delicious. What really impressed me is that despite being a wine bar they allow you to bring your own wine. This really helped keep costs for our night down - especially since there was no corkage fee. Not only that but we got a round of brut on the house since we were celebrating! Most restaurants act like you're about to do something illegal when you BYOB but here it was welcomed and encouraged. Overall this is a great place to catch up with an old friend - or make a new one. I can't wait to be back.

Overall a fine dining experience. No more than a 2-3 minute wait. Service was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. I would recommend the ginger martini if you aren't into the wide assortment of wines they offer. Only disappointment was my lasagna being cool in the middle and the sauce being very acidic. The rest of the order was freshly prepared and enjoyed. I would come back again the next time I visit the area.

This was a girls night out for a bachelorette party so we all dressed in dresses and heels. The food was superb and surprisingly fulfilling.
