Nice clean well kept place. The service is always good when I go there. I love the cracklins I drive from Abbeville just for the cracklins. These are my favorite hands down. I'll be there tomorrow for some cracklins.

My bride and I went in for the first time 3 Aug. 10 for a link of boudin, we were on our own little boudin trail, and this was the last stop. A clean little shop with good service and friendly staff. The link was given wrapped in butcher paper, and the casing was good, not too soft nor too crisp. We would give them an A+ except the black pepper was too heavy. The texture (meat to rice ratio) was perfect and not too dry or too wet, again perfect, except the black pepper. Therefore its an A-. Overall 4.5 stars

Great boudin and cracklin

Service is lack luster, although much better then it was about a year ago. Boudin is expensive, meats are expensive, wait times for anything on the menu is nuts (15 minutes for a sausage busicut at 8 am?), cracklin is almost always cold and they usually burn the small pieces (which they love to fill the bag with). Not the worst place in town but not the best. On the plus side it's clean, local, and has a decent local selection.

Wonderful cuts of meat, though i wish they had a greater selection. Clean store, friendly staff. Good selection of wines to pair with the meat. They do aged meats. Pre marinated meats available as are sausages. Hot lunches also available. Worth a visit

Absolutely loved Chops until they tried to rob me, and when I contacted them about the issue they told me to kick rocks. I'm cooking a gumbo for Thanksgiving and wanted to used Chops Andouille, some of the best I've ever had. Instead of driving across town I decided to use a delivery service called Waitr to bring about 4lbs of sausage to me while I cook. I checked the Waitr app and see Chops listed with andouille for $7.59 per unit. I don't see a weight listed so I call Chops and ask "How much is your Andouille per pound" they tell me "about $7.99". I also ask, how much is the weight y'all usually sell they tell me "about 1lb". Great so I order 4 units from the Waitr app. Once I receive the andouille each package has it's label removed where it lists weight and price. I whip out my scale and see each one is 6 ounces. So I contact them telling them each package is 6 ounces so I paid $7.59 per 6 ounces or $15.18 per pound! They tell me "We don't controller the prices on the app, and there's a difference of convenience." I then asked "can I cancel or refund this." (Keep in mind when using Waitr you pay a $5.00 delivery fee plus tip for the app. Here it's only Chops charging me and extra $18 for andouille.). They tell me there is nothing they can do and I would need to contact Waitr. I call Waitr and they do confirm that Chops sets the prices and it would have to be Chops to issue the refund. Since Chops would not help, Waitr ended up refunding me the $18 "convenience" tax. Ridiculous treatment for a customer who went out of there way to purchase your product. I could've bought sausage from the dozens of store between my house and Chops store but I chose them for quality and taste and this is how they treat a fellow Louisiana neighbor? This is why Acadiana companies are failing in this tough economy. YIKES

Try the cracklins!!

There was a time when someone asked me who made the BEST Cracklins I answered CHOPS with no hesitation. NO LONGER the CASE, of the last three times I bought Cracklins twice they were burnt beyond eating and the third they were edible, but you had to pick through and toss the burnt ones. What happened CHOPS???? Now with that being said their seasoning is awesome and I will continue to buy it, as a matter of fact I just bought 4 cans of it last week. Their specialty meats are also good and I occasionally purchase some, but I'll no longer be stopping in for cracklins :-(

My wife and I each purchased a bar-b-que plate for lunch. Food was good but the amount that we received was pathetic. Definitely did not get our money’s worth. Won’t be going back.

Can't ask for better on Service! Place is clean! The only thing is the Food is most of the time too spicey w/ pepper. It over powers the food. Wish they would easy up on it. The "Craklin's" are the Bomb!
