REVIEWS OF Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits IN Louisiana

My wife and I were visiting NOLA from out of town and had Bacchanal recommended to us by the bartender at Cane and Table. We had a wonderful evening here! Great music, an outdoor seating area with tons of ambience, great wine and beer selection, and a tasty dessert special to boot. We wound up spending 3 hours here listening to the Jesse Morrow Trio and enjoying a magical summer night. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. In my opinion, a must-see if in NOLA, way more so than any of the Bourbon Street stuff

Loreana Trabona

One of the hidden gems we found on our trip to New Orleans. What a cool concept. You can choose your wine, food, and items to make a great cheese board then head outside. But outside is where the real magic is - they have a live band and all the lights make it seem magical. It has a great vibe and def a must if you ever go to New Orleans.

This cool local winery is super nice for visitors to impress! It’s hard to miss because it’s at the very end of the southeast corner of Bywater. Just get to the dead end. Pretty good parking space for the same reason (don’t drink and drive!). First you enter after an ID check and you an pick up a bottle of wine if your choosing and take it with you to the back yard with smooth live jazz and a beautiful genuine landscaping. Wine glasses and ice buckets are self serve. The food is a little on the pricier side but they are great and designed to go with wine.

Victor Engström

Fantastic place! Amazing atmosphere and the bartender was one of the most kind people I've ever met. Thank you for the experience ❤

arpita kaushik

It is a beautiful place with great food and wine. Loved the decorations with lights in the garden. The band was entertaining. I would highly recommend this place

Zarah Cejoco

Such a great place to chill after a long day. The live music here was awesome because they were lively but not annoyingly loud. Wish I caught the name of the band. The charcuterie board was great but we did get to choose what cheeses and other accompaniments to have. No complaints about the service it the place in general. Just overall chill. Highly recommend; they have a wide variety of wines, too.

Oswaldo Oliva

Amazing place for wine, cheese and drinks. Live music and a beautiful yard.

Ashley Buchanan

A nice spot to spend any afternoon. My favorite spot in NOLA, hands down. The patio is beautiful, the music is always great, the charcuterie is delicious and the staff is super helpful with wine selection.

Elizabeth Chavez

Amazing! So big!!! People had recommended and it's a must. Great food, we had some shareable dishes and one entree and it was all good. We arrived at about 2 and their live music went from 12-3 , it was beautiful and relaxing. They also have a happy hour from opening to 5

Jason Wick

Saw Jasen Weaver Band, and they were excellent. Food is good, drinks are good, ambience is nice. We got the 45 minutes before the show and still had to wait to get a table. In demand!

Hillary Mason

Pick out your cheese and wine inside, don't forget the Prosciutto! Backyard is beautiful, but what you don't know is you can go upstairs to an amazing indoor Air conditioner room, and they bring you all your pickings on a phenomenal charcuterie board!

Alicia Payne

Unique foods. Must be willing to try new things. Small bar upstairs. Medium room seems to be available for private events if scheduled during off peak hours. Not much parking so carpool or Uber.

Chris Florida

Jeff is the finest mixologist in town. The craft in these drinks was second to none, and I'd return to this establishment every time back to NOLA in the future. The live music was a great background as well.

Grown Headz.com

Great atmosphere outside in the back. The food was delicious. BUT the mosquitoes will get you, spray something on before you go.

Chelsea Hoye

Being not a local I wasn’t sure what to expect but a travel companion highly recommended it. We waited in line prime time on a Monday night. I liked the set up. Pick your cheese, bottle or glass of wine and then have the staff make a plate for you. Toast, pickled accoutrements and two jams. Customers then find a seat (took us 20 minutes to hunt down seats to accommodate all of us) music was pleasant. Can’t smoke in the venue though majority of seating outside. The welcome staff was pretentious & dressed in short inappropriate jeans and ripped T-shirts. 3 stars because the concept is unique but not executed to accommodate guests needs. Lines for the one bathroom stall, no water and serve yourself utensils and plates. I cleared the table for my group of 4 to sit together. For the price and concept I expected more.

Lynnea Bakken

This place is wonderful. It feels like you’re hanging out in a friend’s backyard but with great food, wine and live music. There was a French guitarist there that was very talented and we hung out for over 2 hours on a beautiful day. Service was great. Order from the upstairs bar or the wine shop and they’ll give you a number and bring you your food.

Jan N

Amazing wine bar! When you walk in the front, you are immediately greeted by hundreds of bottles of wine to choose from, as well as a fridge of cheese and meats. Music is in the back every night.

Ian Adams

Great ambiance, nice wine and good food. You can have just drinks here, or the make your own cheese boards are popular, or you can do a full meal as we did. Live music every night I think as well.

Michiel DH

This is the perfect place for wine and cheese lovers. The concept of buying wine and cheese in the store when you enter and then taking it to the backyard to eat gives you the feeling that you went to a party in someone's back yard. Bonus points for the live music, especially if you enjoy jazz music! I would definitely recommend this place to locals and people visiting from out of town.

Bandmaster Hemi

Best wine bar and jazz venue. Choose wines at the bottle shop and pick your cheeses and the kitchen will turn it into an awesome platter. Lovely area to watch jazz and drink wine. Highly recommended 5 stars!

Ian Burnette

Very nice ambiance. Didn't think the drinks were spectacular but they were good. Vibrant nightlife. Live music was nice. Like that they partnered with the local women's shelter to increase awareness. Not awesome for socializing unless you're grabbing a table and food.

Emily Burke

Great place for lunch. Fantastic wine, great music, customized cheese plate. Did not eat any of the lunch menu options, but all of them looked fantastic. Would go again. An urban oasis.

Paul Lewandowski

Great wine selection with a great outdoor space. The shaded trees provide escape from the heat of the day with an indoor bar upstairs to cool off. Much less hustle and bustle than downtown. A great way to spend a relaxing afternoon or evening.

Eelco van Velzen

Very special. A must visit. When we were there (eating outside), there was rain, a complete power loss (how the kitchen managed to still prepare our nice food puzzles us) and I heard the same night it flooded from the rain. In spite of all of that I would return every day.

Riain Rising

The original backyard whino party for adults. Its like a festival with better furniture and reliable and clean lavatories. Its staffed properly and they expedite the food orders quickly. The place is perfect for musical performances that are intimate but ya'll too old to stand for 2 hours and arent gonna sit in camping chair or on a blanket. Bring an umbrella just in case.

Allison Davis

Limited menu, but very good food. Butternut squash risotto is phenomenal! Great wine selection. Great music. Very friendly vibe!

Thomas Knuth

Funky, hipster place w great wine shop and lots of cheese. Pick you wine bottle, grab some cheese and they plate it with some nice hot bread. The food was simple and served on paper plates. Affordable and well, I’ll say it- dirt cheap. I know hipsters like these kind of places and I can’t say enough about the quality of the food. BUT the building is a dump. Who cares !

Holly M.

Husband and I wandered in here during happy hour on a sunny weekday afternoon and had a glorious time. The large, tranquil garden is the perfect place to relax for hours, especially with live music playing. Don't be deceived by the fact the neighbourhood looks a little industrial and empty. There are some gems to be found (check out The Joint BBQ place nearby). You have the option of buying wine (by the bottle or glass) and cheese from the front shop, which the staff will then plate for you, or heading round the back to the upstairs bar. The bar itself looked like a great place to hang out on a rainy day, but it's the garden that's the main attraction. We didn't eat, but the happy hour drink prices for wine and cocktails were great - around $5 for a glass of any of the wines from the bar upstairs. The bartender was friendly and helpful. I love that it's casual bar service so you can grab your drinks and hang out wherever you want. If you're a visitor to the city, this is the perfect place to relax, explore a new neighbourhood and take a break from the mayhem of the French Quarter. Check out Crescent Park on your way.

Sarena Fritch

Perhaps I'm just not cool enough to get it. There is no sign outside and the place looks deserted. Once our Lyft driver assured us we were in the right spot, we entered, and sure enough, there's a beautiful little wine shop. We grabbed a menu, proceeded to outside seating, and found a table. The courtyard, though large, was a bit on the messy side. After sitting there for 15 minutes trying to figure out how everything worked, we decided to go elsewhere. Yes, we could've asked or tried to find someone who worked there, but we just didn't want to work that hard when there are a plethora of other top notch options to choose from.

jaideep sidhu

Really awesome place with a great atmosphere. Go there to relax and unwind while relishing live Jazz and savouring wine and cheese. There is a full wine shop from where you can purchase your wine. There is an outdoor seating area plus seating in the bar upstairs. The servers are friendly and the bar comes up with some chill drinks. Their good menu is limited as are their portion sizes. So, order accordingly.

Michael Gindy

Amazing experience very cute small place. Can't wait to get the octopus again. By far the best octopus in New Orleans

David Malofy

Best music, best food, amazing wine selection and THE BEST employees!

Jeff Kissel

Delicious wine, snacks, and great live music.

Loren Appin

Great spot for outdoor live jazz. A bit more off the beaten path.

Fernanda Chagas

Great live music and food. I love the idea of making your own cheese plate and picking your wine to enjoy it in their beautiful backyard. Chose this venue for my wedding reception and we had the best time. It was very intimate, cozy and festive!

Laura Redmond

Cool spot! Different process than many restaurants. Walk in through the front store, buy some wine & cheese, take it to the backyard, find an available table, eat & drink & be merry under globe lights & gas torches listening to live music. For hot food, walk up to the counter on the back of the building to order. For mixed drinks & beer, head upstairs to the bar.

Martin Ong

This place is a nice getaway from the craziness of Bourbon street. Granted it is a wine place so that is a plus for me personally. They have a selection of Old World and New World wines. In the back they have a large outdoor seating area for live music. Every time I visit New Orleans I love to visit here.

Drew Fuller

Unique concept that works exceptionally well. Very eclectic, yet well thought out wine list. Small number of cheese choices, but good diversity of styles and excellent quality. Very fun, hidden oasis from the chaos of Bourbon Street!!

Harry Bowmaster

The wine selection is fine, but if you're a beer drinker, don't expect a big selection while your friend hit the wine. Also while cheese and bread we're good, I thought it somewhat expensive for a glass of wine, a beer, and some bread and cheese. In fact you could get a good meal for the same price. Spacious outdoor seating and live music. If wine is your thing, don't let this review stop you from going. You'll love it. I'm suggesting if your group has beer drinkers, wine drinkers and diverse interests in food, this probably isn't a great place to meet up.

EK Hutch

I get the range of good to “hate it” reviews...Recommend NOT going if it is busy. Don’t blame them for slow service, it just can’t be done. Interesting place, great balcony to people watch. Bit pricey but unique set up. Absolutely lovely during great weather! Would definitely return....

Naser Nesheiwat

Great ambiance for wine and food. Great selection. Fantastic music. Fun.the neighborhood is sketchy? Recommend uber from and to.

Samantha Betancourt

There wine was so good here and happy hour has a $5 a cup, they also had a build your own cheese plate and to be honest it was so good but be warn it can get super pricey if it's for two people, now if your sharing with several people then definitely do it, they provide the little extras that go on there for a fee. And they had a solo entertainer which was very lovely.

Aaron Shiels

Fantastic outdoor atmosphere with a great selection of food and drinks

James McPeak

Great place to enjoy an afternoon. Good wine. Fine food. Very pleasant atmosphere. Nice tunes. Well worth a visit.

Johnny Payne

An awesome hidden gem. Great music. Super friendly folks

Bianca S

One of my favorite spots in new Orleans. Things to know,if you want a cheese plate or bottle of wine you get it at the entrance. You pay for it there and they give you a number to hold on to. Then you can sit anywhere and when it's ready your wine and cheese plate will be all dressed up and ready for you. If you just want a glass of wine, go up to the bar where you can oder one. They have a nice selection of wine and cheese here and over all it's just a lovely spot.

dewey alford

I loved this place. The white sevignion blanc I purchased what absolutely wonderful and then the music was amazing. It set a great atmosphere mood and I had such a great time. I went by myself and some friends, I would have loved to have shared this experience with a certain someone. Great place and a lot of different wines to choose from.

Michelle Lee

Just perfect, you chose your wine, cheese and charcuterie they head it the wonderful musical garden to find a spot to enjoy your wine, then they serve you your plated cheese. They also have a small tapas menu if your still peckish.

Madeleine Zuiker

I don't ever write reviews, so that's a sign right there. The concept of this place is great; you go in and pick your own cheeses and then supposedly enjoy them outside in a pretty patio area. The execution just absolutely sucks. They asked us "upstairs or outside?" without bothering to mention every table outside was full. We didn't know that, so we said outside because it sounded so nice. When we walked back there, like I said, every single table was full. Super annoying in a place where the inside isn't interesting or attractive. Inside we went, but since we told them outside I had to run back down and tell them we changed places, and the guy seemed exasperated by that. Like it's your job pal, get over it. Then, as I was sitting at the table inside, I started to think about the price. We knew there was a $9 plating fee for our 3 cheeses, but I just assumed that included the fixings that the plate came with. But then I did the math - our total was $45 for 3 cheeses (one was $2.50, one was $4, and the other was $5) and we also grabbed some prosciutto for $10. We each got a pop (the two of us) which I don't remember the exact price for but let's be generous and say $3 each. That's $27.50. So the $9 isn't for the STUFF on the plate, it's just for them to literally unwrap the cheese and put it on there. didn't cut off the rind or anything. and the olives had pits, so you can't eat them with the cheese. it was absurdly expensive. should've gone to the Central Grocery and bought our own cheese, we would've had twice as much for the same price. wouldn't recommend and would never go again.

Amanda Cardona

Great vibe, great music. From self serve Cheese plates, no muss, no fuss, just chillll

Jesse Comber

Do yourself a favor and stop by for a bottle of wine and a make-your-own cheese plate. Easily one of the funnest little backyard bars in New Orleans.

Lucas Hearl

Really cool unique spot with great live music. You enter the wine shop and select a bottle or glass, cheese or charcuterie - then proceed out back and enjoy the music. You can also order off the menu from the kitchen once you enter the back courtyard. A great chill alternative to the “lively” bourbon street.

C B

A nice meal, not Creole or Louisiana fare but if you are looking for a non-tourist trap meal this will be a good place to come. The outside is spartan but quaint and inviting if not humble. A good place to come to just enjoy and share some time with someone special.

Jeanna Colbert

Love this establishment. Super chill and relaxing. The live music sets the perfect tone and the food was really good.

Andrea F

Great place for food and drink. Great concept. Wine pairings galore, just ask for help if any is needed. Everyone is friendly.

Ciaara Riverah

THE BEST PLACE to visit if you are in New Orleans AND want to enjoy some nice wine and the best cheese platter you can get. Getting into their wine gallery & picking your wines is the beginning. You can also buy a few cheeses and they have a great selection as well as prosciutto and the like. They'll dress it up for you on a great platter that you won't believe how beautiful they make it

Konstantin F

Wife and I are from NYC. We came here for a wedding after party and immediately the day after. We liked it that much. It has an awesome outdoor space with live jazz. You can get wine by the glass or by the bottle. The charcuterie boards are customizable with different varieties of meats and cheeses. Definitely returning here next time we're in NOLA

Chelsea B

Take a bike ride through the park on your way to this spot. The wine, cheese boards, and other food is absolutely amazing. The backyard is perfect and so is the live music. Super eclectic vibe.

Sharon Roediger

The food, drinks and environment were pleasant and relaxing. We were fortunate to hear the music of two excellent bands. Wonderful

Agata Loboda

Great place! You can take the «5» Bus line (expect the line to have delays roughly 10-15min for us). We went in the afternoon. Live music from noon to 15h. Cheese&charcuterie plate was so tasty! (10$ charcut choice, + 3-6$/cheese and you add a platting fee of 5$ I think?) wines were 2$ off during happy hour and drinks at 6$. We had a great time! ^_^

Shirley Young

Good food, great atmosphere. Love the entertainment. Great place to hang out with friends and family.

Paul Janeczko

Super amazing place to hang out and have a few glasses of wine, listen to some jazz and chill!!! But... The prices of the wines are legitimately double to triple the price of another wine and spirit shop. It wouldn't be a big deal if they had some cool unique dope wines but they just have standard wine shop bottles. Anyway, if you don't care about price the place is great!

Philip Champion

Great vibes. Get a good feel of New Orleans. Make sure to get there early so you can have a chance sit outside in the garden. The live music is great. I will be back to visit next time I’m in town.

Brittany Callens

My favorite spot in New Orleans! Amazing wine with a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Awesome small plates and cheese selection. Music and so many varying atmospheres between down stairs and up stairs.

Cooper Smith

Great place to hang out in the warm weather and listen to some good music. If you're in a large group, definitely buy a bottle of wine from the wine shop up front. If you're in a smaller group, there's a bar upstairs where you can get individual drinks.

Steven L

Amazing place, great spot for an afternoon bottle of wine in a super cool space.

Lonnie Rewa

Nice place to go for great backyard music. Wine choice was excellent as was the food. It's a very out of the way place that everyone seems to know about. Nice ambience on the back patio. A little on the pricey side

Lynne Williams

In the city for Jazz fest and our fabulous Uber driver recommended we visit while giving us a tour of the city and we loved it!! Great atmosphere, live music, great drinks and a fabulous cheese tray!!! Will definitely visit again when visiting New Orleans

Michael Williams

Wow, great spot to find as a tourist! Create your own cheese plate, buy some chilled wine, and sit in the courtyard listening to the music.

Kelsey Owsley

This was our favorite place in New Orleans. They had a great wine selection and the band was fantastic! The atmosphere was laid back and great for a date night!

Walter Miranda

Awesome little find to grab a bottle of wine and enjoy some music on a Sunday.

Ken Martinez

Absolutely magical time at bacchanal. As our co-patrons at our table put it, “no better place to be on a Sunday afternoon” Almost overwhelming wine selection, until you ask the very helpful staff on what you’re looking for. Amazing food in the back and almost always a great band playing tunes for ya. Did not disappoint as a quintessential NO experience

Max Sternlicht

Huge outdoor space with some great music (check out Hector Gallegos on Tuesdays) and a big selection of wines n' cheese. Definitely recommend.

Juan Duque

Great experience. His wine and live music.

Dayna Ford

Definately a cool concept although they should replace the one guy at counter who was very rude. My wife and I were turned off by how he came off when we were asking questions since it was our first time. Band was very good wine and cheese you can get anywhere. We are both in the business and first impressions matter.

Annie Marsella

Amazing! Excellent widde wine selection. I just couldn't pick one. Food was also great. Loved the atmosphere!

Dr Zaius

Amazing food, wine, patio, and communal tables. Cute clientele. Hard to beat. But there will be a line. Do it. Its worth it.

Frank Zen

Great wine! Great sommeliers! Great music! Awesome cheese!

SérGio Silva

Hanging out, listening to good music, eating delicious food and drinking the best wine. Feels like if New Orleans had a backyard get together, this would be it. Bring your friends or make new friends. Thanks for being here. Keep it up.

Trent Rodriguez

Fun venue. Drinks selection and creative menu. Really liked selecting the cheeses from the fridge for our cheese platter

Siobhan Nolet

Food and drink was great. Took a while to find a table with the system they have there

John Trombly

Bacchanal is one of my favorite places to take friends. The seating is mostly outdoors, so it is not a good spot if is raining. By six, the tables are mostly taken. Send someone to hold a table earlier if you really want to sit around a table. They have live music every night and it is good. Check their calendar for musicians booked. You enter through a wine shop where you can select from hundreds of wines. They have beer as well. You place your food order from a window in the seating area. The food has some oddball items but it is very good. The cheese plates are a good place to start.

Kacie Wadycki

This is a must, I try and come here every time I visit. Everyone who works here is so friendly and helpful. They will find you the perfect bottle of wine every time. The ambiance is the best, festoon lighting, jazz playing, and outdoor seating turns this to a relaxing fun night.

Lynn Oneal

Great patio and excellent Sazaracs.

Doug Hendricksen

Great atmosphere, good wine and food, fun place to gather.

Joshua Heller

Fun hipster wine bar. It’s basically a house off the beaten path and they made the backyard into a bar. Decorated very nicely with lights and tables. Wine was affordable and food was good. We ordered the shrimp and side of olives. Chill relaxed environment. Good date spot.

Ebony Coates

Not Very Knowledgeable about the selection, bar closed for a private event so we couldn't really taste. Bought something I already liked but was really looking for a new experience

Renee Baldwin

Super cute place to get wine and mixed drinks. The music is always perfect for the day. Great choices of wine. And the upstairs has a cute area to sit and have a cocktail .

Kenneth Jenkinson

Enjoyed this place tremendously. Awesome atmosphere, wonderful wine and selection of cheeses. Really neat concept. Line outside was a bit long but they walked out with mini shooters of wine for everyone waiting!

Matthew Gallicchio

Great atmosphere, great food, great music and great service.

Christopher Landry

More crowded for a Sunday night than I expected. Excellent small plates, catfish dip was a good portion. Cocktail was well made and the live music was great.

Stephanie Sawyer

I've been to New Orleans 12 times and for years pushed my group to come here but we were always so busy we never made it out. This year I put my foot down, and everyone was so glad I did! It rained so we were unable to sit on the patio, but we sat by a window upstairs and had the best time. The charcuterie was to die for, and the $5 wine by the glass happy hour was great. Staff was helpful, too. Loved everything about the place, and will surely be back many times!

LAC

Awesome wine patio...fair prices..good food..cool jazz...neat people. Couldn't ask for more!! Will be back next time for sure!!

Ash Yezuita

Bacchanal has an incredible wine and bottle offering and tasty cheeses and meats to make a charcuterie plate. I'm not a huge wine drinker, but the staff worked with me and helped me find a wine that tasted good and went well with the cheeses and meats I had selected. The backyard space was beautiful and comfortable with good space between the tables and heated lamps for comfort even on January evenings. Local music plays each evening, and it's a lovely space to relax in New Orleans. Bacchanal is worth taking a trip away from the French Quarter and downtown to experience great music and delicious wine.

David Mroski

Great place to go for date night. The band on the patio was great and the food was yummy!

Alyse P.

The atmosphere was inviting and welcoming. We enjoyed bourbon and wine. Nice selection for both. We stayed until they closed at midnight, a Thursday evening. Were not po ushy about having us leave. They let us enjoy the rest our wine.

Aliena Remborn

Delicious menu choices. Great wine selection. Lovely outdoor dining experience with live music.

Brett Keen

Come for the wine stay for the happy hour sazeracs and great food.

Dave Miller

I'm biased because we held our pre-wedding evening here. Great wine, live music, pleasant patio. Pricey though.

jablazin 1

Everything about this place screams Chill Vibes.. If you're in to chillin listening to Good Music being around kind local ppl then this is the spot.. love love

Monika Hesch

Amazing place! Great wine and selection of cheese. Get a cheese plate, you won’t regret it. Beautiful patio.

Sean Anderson

This place was someone’s drunken wine idea, but the issue with that is it seems they never sobered up. Why is it $9 to unwrap three cheese and ball up meat? There was no prep done to the food. There was even HAIR on two of the cheeses. Why can you not reserve a table? I will pay you more for that! It’s an adorable place for a date night, so if people want to enjoy the other person you should allow them to. I would stay away if you’re a tourist. This might be a great place for locals to hang out and drink, but I would skip the food and make your own cheese plate at your place.

Isabella Goldman

Fabulous wine shop with patio & nightly live music. Fancy some charcuterie? Open the fridge & build a custom plate or order hot small plates from the back! Everything is delicious, fantastic romantic spot or night out with friends.

Kristin

One of my favorite places to visit when I come to New Orleans

Christine Ford

SO MUCH FUN. And the food is incredible.

Joe Hughes

Wow! This place is amazing!! Heard loads about it and when I arrived from Australia, had to try it. Wasn't let down in the slightest. It's very different...you literally choose your wine from the cellar and some meats and cheeses. They then bring out your cheese and meat and pair it with delicious bread, quince paste, olives and pickles. I only got two packets of meat and three cheeses and between two of is, we couldn't finish it. Incredible day. I will actually say flawless!

AJ Pizer

The Bomb! Best wine selection, Total comfort, live music. Great Date Out! Need some habanero cheese.

Carmel Topinka-Pennington

Super COOL and relaxed vibe... Great music!

Christopher H

Definitely a bit out of the way from the quarter, but well worth the visit, especially if the weather is decent. Bacchanal is a bit different, because it's a self serve wine bar by the bottle with a restaurant and outdoor seating area attached. The outdoor lights and seating is worth the visit alone. You can event create your own charcuterie plate with your bottle by the package and they'll plate it for you. A great place to spend a few hours.

B C

Was excellent. The food was shockingly amazing. The wine selection was phenomenal. Great atmosphere overall. Definitely a gem.

Brandon Z James

Great place for music and good food

Max Schaffer

Stop reading reviews and head over to Bacchanal’s if you like good wine, music, a nice outdoor space and small plates. Their prices are reasonable and it’s a great place to spend hours with friends.

Lisa Fraser

Spectacular concept. Great wine, music, and set up to make new friends. Wonderful place!

Sean Groves

I highly recommend the Bacchanal experience. Was some of the most fun ive ever had in New Orleans. The staff are very knowledgeable about wine and cheese without making the customer feel ignorant, the atmosphere is excellent and there's always great live music!

Mo Mo

Love it! Great venue outside of the touristy area Highly recommended

Lea Shaw

Great wine, great food, great service. Lovely low-key spot.

Travis B

Came highly recommended and so glad we went! Great food, great music. Was a lot of fun. Definitely get the cheese plate.

Bill Cheatham

Tips- casual outdoor dining Adults only Non smoking Full bar Live music Wine shop No reservations 5 minute ride from downtown Billed as New Orleans greatest backyard party. Dining alfresco, fine wine, great cheese plates, awesome food, live music and full bar... this is something you can only experience in New Orleans. After Katrina, Bacchanal became an epic part of the city's recovery. Hosting guest chefs and musicians from around the city that were looking for a place to cook and play their music; Bacchanal’s backyard party soon took off. So, here’s the deal... upon arrival you enter through the wine shop, choose a bottle of wine and some cheese and charcuterie if you like. They will chill your wine and put together a beautiful cheese tray and deliver it to your table. Make your way out to the backyard where you can order a gourmet meal. We had the “braised pork shoulder” (baked with bacon & duck fat). If you prefer, they have a full bar upstairs with creative cocktails and wine by the glass. The live music is 7 nights a week. Weather permitting, this is an experience like no other.
