Harky Edwards presented five of his wines at a recent tasting at Windy Corner Restaurant near Lexington, Kentucky. The tasting and the wines were delightful. Four of the wines are made with grapes grown at Harkness Edwards Vineyards or Kentucky. These are the most interesting, delicious Kentucky-made wines I have tasted. "Taste the Sun," an estate-grown Vidal Blanc, will be my new house wine as soon as I can work out where to buy it consistently. Mr. Edwards knows an immense amount about growing grapes in Kentucky, and shares that information freely and with good humor. I have not met his wife, who is the wine maker. It is exciting to have this vineyard and its wines coming of age.

The Edwards are some of the most gracious people you could ever meet. Very knowledgeable and professional. They have a beautiful vinyard out there. They also have some of the best wines around. Topnotch.

This is one of the largest wineries in Kentucky when looking at grape acreage. Great care has been taken to also transform this old farmhouse into a nice tasting room/greeting area. Our tasting guide was extremely nice and friendly. We truly enjoyed talking with her during the tasting. They don't have a lot of wines and I can't say I appreciated them all but they did have a couple surprises, particularly the Norton which normally is too strong but highly enjoyable here. I'd put this one in the top 50% of wineries in the state and recommend going. The grounds are also a major selling point and the location can be booked for events. Seriously a perfect place for a wedding. One was actually setting up when we visited for a tasting.

We loved the cozy feel of the tasting room and enjoyed talking with Amy. Follow the signs to the tasting room, then park and walk through the black barn to get to the house/tasting room. They had several wines to taste, from dry to sweet.
